We came here for our wedding anniversary. It was definitely worth it. From the outside, it's an ordinary Franconian farmhouse, but inside it's an almost antique vaulted cellar. Everything was top-notch – the ambiance, the food, the drinks – the wine glasses alone were worth the visit. Thank you for a truly wonderful evening, and we will definitely be back.

The couple is truly lovely, kind and very, very attentive. We speak very little German and were able to communicate perfectly in English. The owner knows a little Spanish and was extremely attentive. He explained the entire menu to us so we could choose the dish we wanted. A very nice extra was that they let us dine inside the restaurant with our dog. If you pass through Nuremberg, you should definitely come to this restaurant!

It's a great place. Even though we spoke very little German, because we're from Spain, they treated us incredibly well and made us feel like one of their own. The owner and the lady are super friendly and very attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I recommend anyone go out of the road just to eat here. 5/5.

We visited Da Gallo in Heroldsberg and were unfortunately extremely disappointed. After ordering our drinks, we waited an unusually long time for our food – over an hour – without anyone even bothering to inquire, even though several employees (including the manager) walked past our apparently empty table several times. When we finally asked, no one knew what we had ordered or who had taken our order. The waitress who had taken our order became loud and irritated instead of apologizing – which was not only unprofessional but also unpleasant. Even when the manager intervened, there was no offer to rectify the mistake – not a word of apology, not a small compensation, not even a free espresso. Instead, she simply said, "The food's here now." For me, as a paying guest, this is simply outrageous. Mistakes can always happen – but how you handle them makes all the difference. Here, you feel like a nuisance as a guest. It was the first time I didn't tip—and definitely the last time I ate here as a guest. What a pity.

The selection is very limited, the food tastes mediocre, and the prices are very high. This is due to only two stars.

The food was incredibly delicious, but we had to wait 2.5 hours for our food because the chef was ill. This wasn't communicated to us at all. We were just told... it'll take a little while. It's a real shame. Not even the incredibly delicious food can make up for it. No apologies, etc.

Whether you like classic Italian cuisine or prefer something a little more unusual, there's something for every taste. The service and ambiance are authentic and leave nothing to be desired. Every effort is made to make the visit as pleasant and accessible as possible for wheelchair users.

I went to this place on recommendation and I must say that expectations were greatly exceeded. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with courtesy and professionalism by the staff, who proved to be kind and helpful throughout the evening. The environment is taken care of down to the smallest detail: clean, tidy, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you immediately feel at ease. But the real protagonist was the food. The menu offers an interesting and well-balanced selection, with dishes that enhance the product without weighing it down. We ordered several fish-based courses and one was better than the other: very fresh raw fish, tasty first courses with perfectly balanced flavours. You can clearly feel that the fish is of the highest quality and treated with great care. In short, a more than positive experience: a place that absolutely deserves to be tried by those who love to eat well and appreciate good fish. I will definitely return and recommend it without hesitation!

We celebrated our civil wedding in the Gallo restaurant on February 15th and it was a dream. The food was delicious, the whole team was super nice and warm and the atmosphere is also great, very cozy and modern. We had a three-course menu, Italian starter plates, fillet of Iberico pork, for the vegetarians there was a risotto with pomegranate seeds, goat cheese and mint and for dessert a chocolate soufflé with pistachio ice cream. Everything was excellent, including the wine. We and our guests were thrilled. Everything was discussed professionally in advance and our wishes were taken into account in detail. I can only recommend it 👍🏼👍🏼😊 we will always remember this day fondly.

We've just come from the "Da Gallo" here in Heroldsberg and were just at Luka's for a Sunday evening snack. As always, the owners and their team gave us a lovely evening. Whether I was there for business or pleasure, whether we had a large meal or just a nice glass of wine and a snack, it was always a pleasure. Today we ate a "Tegame", a fish pan with toasted slices of bread, with Pinot Grigio for the lady, a glass of Chardonnay for the gentleman, and finally a cafe espresso... a nice chat with my loved one... what more could you want? An absolute recommendation in the north of Nuremberg!

My experience here was nothing less than perfect! The waiter, chef, food, wine, dessert, for a moment I thought I was in Italy...had the gnocchi in a gorgonzola, I ordered more bread to sop up the gravy!

My husband and I really enjoyed the New Year's Eve menu. First-class menu sequence, ambience, staff and the owner couple are great and always in a good mood. Big praise for the achievement of creating a 7-course meal for 50 guests. Hats off. The da Gallo in Heroldsberg is highly recommended and we will definitely enjoy it again in regular operation. And again it's time to update my review after almost 3 years. Unfortunately this time it wasn't very positive. Before we give our new review, we would like to say that the cuisine, the hospitality of the Gallo family and the ambience of the restaurant are still excellent. For this reason, we have asked the Gallo family to host a small celebration for us and a few guests in their restaurant at the end of September. The preliminary discussion and planning was very professional. Here you can already feel that Luca is a very innovative restaurateur. A 4-course menu was put together for us. The reception was very nice. The long table was beautifully set. As already mentioned, the food was really excellently prepared. Unfortunately, the individual courses, especially the main course, were so small and there were only a few side dishes that you couldn't really guess what side dishes they were supposed to be, so we were still really hungry after the meal. That was absolutely not what we know and are used to from him. After completely trashing his 2nd annual celebration, he went one better at our celebration. Not that we're misunderstanding each other: the food was excellent. Unfortunately, he served it as if he were a star chef and we were in a star restaurant and all at a star price that can really make you dizzy. At this point I would just like to mention the price for a small espresso. 6€ is grossly excessive. You could also describe the whole thing as “disproportionate”. Hence our request at this point. Luca please stay on the ground. You are a really good and innovative cook. Don't ruin it with such airs and graces. It would be a shame if Heroldsberg lost such an excellent location. Despite our surprise at the organization of our small event, we would like to mention how impressed we are by the very innovative and very high-quality Italian cuisine during our visits. Even after almost 3 years, not only the innovations of the excellent Italian cuisine, but also the warmth with which the Gallo family welcomes and hosts their guests are so gracious that every time we visit we feel as if we were with the family for Sunday dinner. We can no longer imagine Da Gallo, with its excellent Venetian cuisine and its warm and cozy ambience, as an institution in Heroldsberg.

Update to old review, 5 stars from now on. The first visit resulted in 4 points. Service has clearly improved! Super friendly and warm-hearted. We stayed for a very long time and felt completely at home in a lovely atmosphere. The food was phenomenally delicious and the kind that can only be found in the right corners of Italy. The pasta would be cooked too "hard" for most guests without an Italian background, but it's just right and fantastic! The quality of the ingredients is also remarkable. With no Italian. I got a San Daniele ham of this quality from the supermarket in Germany. The drink prices were a bland aftertaste. The wine was again excellent, but an apple spritzer for €5, a bottle of water for €6.50 and an espresso for €2.50 were not.

We ate a wonderful risotto here today. Great service, very cozy atmosphere. It is highly recommended. We will come again.

We ate very tasty gnocchi, pinsa and bruschetta as a starter. Everything was very very tasty. Big compliments to the kitchen! The selection on the menu is just right, not too much/too little. The owners are very nice and you can see that the restaurant and the preparation of the food are done with love. We'll be back! :)

A highlight for everyone who loves Italian cuisine. The weekly menu is always a highlight. The service is excellent, always a smile. And the food is simply amazing, regardless of whether it's a starter (bruschetta selection is second to none), main courses (all recommended) and dessert (panna cotta and creme Catalan). I have never eaten mahi mahi. So delicious! As a starter I had spaghetti with prawns from the daily menu. Absolute recommendation - and all bambinos are also welcome at Luca! 🥰

Service is friendly but unfortunately it always takes a while until someone comes. The food is good but the portions are sometimes very small. The fish with some asparagus and mini side dishes for €30 is enough to lose weight. But we'll still come back because it's comfortable inside and outside.

Friendly & super tasty and a really great atmosphere. The historic Franconian farm has been lovingly restored - the interior is stylish and modern. Healthy cuisine - something different than just pizza & pasta - although that is also available there - but with a bit of fine-tuning :)
