The food is incredibly delicious; we order from there very often and also love eating in their restaurant.

Warning: Hot Masala still has reviews from Curryosity, its predecessor. When we ate there as a group of seven, we were the only guests in the restaurant, yet the service was truly awful. Drinks and side dishes were forgotten, and the curries were mixed up with lamb and chicken, and vice versa. It wasn't very spicy either, but otherwise the food was okay. The ambiance is still really nice, especially the sofas, which are very comfortable.

Disaster. Food lukewarm, portions small. Spices are a foreign concept here. A very meager amount of meat. Value for money practically nonexistent. A glance at an Indian cookbook would remedy this...

The new owner has made some changes to the restaurant, making it feel very cozy and inviting. The staff is attentive and friendly. The food was excellent; the portions were generous, and the ingredients seemed fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. We chose this restaurant because we are planning a larger group celebration soon.

In my opinion, this is the best Indian restaurant in the area in terms of taste. Very tasty curries and a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Those used to all-you-can-eat restaurants might find the portions a bit small, but they are plentiful and tempt you to order some of the delicious naan bread as well. It's also a very cozy restaurant, with some areas featuring sofas.

Everything's actually great, but the prices are, like everywhere else, very high. These small portions should really cost only half as much!

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an Indian restaurant. The service was extremely poor and disorganized. They first served part of the main course with naan, then brought the starter afterward—which made no sense. Later, they informed us that the remaining main course was not available, leaving us with cold naan and nothing to eat it with. They also forgot to serve the rice and only brought it at the very end—by then, there was nothing left to eat it with. Despite being aware of all these issues, they still charged us the full amount. Very disappointing and definitely not recommended.

First the positives: Pickup time was convenient, dishes were well packaged, and the mango lassi was delicious. No. 97 was good. Very tasty rice with coriander, cashews, almonds, and a few spices like cloves. Soups No. 26 and 27 were tasty. I would have liked more of the lentil soup. The bowl was only half full, though. That's pretty cheeky for 4.90. Then the not-so-good stuff. My flatbread No. 114 only had coconut instead of almonds, cashews, and raisins. I would never have ordered it like that. The 36 was very dry on one side, and the chicken thigh was still raw inside. There was only a rudimentary amount of salad. The 97 didn't have a single crab or raisins. It would have cost over 60 euros. With the voucher book, €43.40. I was missing a dip. Everything was quite dry. A shame, I had promised myself that it would be.

Unfortunately, not a good experience. The restaurant opens at 11:30. At 12:00, the restaurant was quiet and the lights weren't on yet. All the tables on the terrace were dirty. Ordering was very difficult because no one could understand us. The owner was out shopping and didn't return until 12:15. Never again.

Our first time at Curryosity and definitely not the last time. Excellent Indian food, good portions, very nice atmosphere and courteous staff. Update April 2025: The proportion of meat in the portions has decreased noticeably.

This review refers to my Lieferando order yesterday. It's always been a great experience on site, delicious food and great taste. Yesterday we ordered and had it delivered, mixed vegetarian starter not at all tasty and naan completely soggy. Have eaten both on site and it was really good. And then we paid just under €50 for two main courses, a starter and bread. Price performance was not at all right here.

I have ordered here several times via Lieferando since last August and the quality has continuously declined. Today I thought I would give you another chance. I ordered Chicken Curryiosity in mild. When I took the first spoonful of the sauce, I noticed a reaction on my tongue and throat and then saw with great horror that the food was missing apricots and plums, but there was a lot of zucchini in it. I'm highly allergic to that. So I took my emergency medication and called there instead of Lieferando. I explained that I couldn't eat the food because I was allergic to it and was told I couldn't read. When I pointed out that zucchini wasn't listed as a vegetable, I was told I should have called ahead. When I pointed out that it was not my duty but theirs to clearly identify the ingredients, I was offered the option of bringing the food to them and they would then make me one without zucchini. Regardless of the fact that I have my reasons for ordering food instead of eating out, it's not my job to chase after the goods I ordered because I got what I didn't want. This store was the last time I saw you. I am also considering taking legal action because this behavior is irresponsible and can endanger lives.

The food tasted okay both times. Personally, I didn't find the chicken in the curry particularly tasty. The taste wasn't as high-quality as you're used to, for example, from organic chicken. Service is quite nice. Unfortunately, one lunchtime when there were only two of us there, the employees were talking quite loudly and people were making phone calls in our presence. I also found it too cold in the restaurant. So the entire atmosphere seemed okay overall, but not really inviting to us. It's a shame, because the store itself is really nicely decorated.

We were there today and wanted to eat something. Unfortunately there was no waitress to be found, so we ordered directly from the kitchen. The lentil soup we ordered was served, but unfortunately the flatbread was not. Go back to the kitchen and let them know. The desire for the main course suddenly disappeared. Conclusion: A restaurant without service and the soup without salt, all in a dingy atmosphere, what exactly is the business idea behind this shop?

So far we have picked up once and eaten once on site. It was super tasty both times. The dishes were placed on the table in small pots, at first you thought you wouldn't get enough of them. But on the contrary, it's really enough. The sauces were so delicious and flavorful, to die for. The Indian spiciness is unique and simply perfect.

Went in with no expectations and walked out happy and satisfied. Food was very tasty and looked good. Price-performance ratio is also great. The service was great. We were always taken care of. Ambiance could have been better. It wasn't particularly nicely decorated.

We had dinner there with 5 people on Thursday evening. The waitress came, brought the menus and took the drinks. The drinks and food came quite quickly. After that the service was no longer visible. Although only 3 tables were occupied in total. When the table next door was being cleared, I carefully asked if we could maybe order drinks. She took the order and took 3 people's plates with her. The rest remained standing until we went to the front to pay. With a little more attention they could have sold twice as many drinks. The food was very tasty.

We were in this restaurant several times years ago and were very satisfied. With a delivery time of 110 minutes (to Unna, Lieferando estimated 50 minutes) this time it was unfortunately a complete disappointment for an exorbitant price: seven euros for four pieces of pakora vegetables, Vegetable Biriani normally Well under 10 euros in price, this amount of kheer with the look was incorrectly priced at 5.50 euros. The naan lives up to its price.

Hello. We were hungry for Indian today. But unfortunately that was a step in the toilet. Absolute disgrace what you get... First of all, the delivery time of 90 minutes was an absolute disgrace! Cold food Old fries tasted like oil A little meat (4 small pieces approx. 30 grams) Bag filled with potatoes, but there were pure peppercorns in it Chicken wings totally limp Totally over-seasoned and unpleasant taste We paid €66 for it. We will never order here again. Absolute disaster not recommended. Simply inedible. Disgusting!!!

Die etwas schlechteren Bewertungen haben uns zuerst abgeschreckt aber dann wollten wir uns selbst ein Bild davon machen. Wir hatten weder beim Essen noch bei der Einrichtung was auszusetzen. Das Essen war frisch, geschmacklich sehr gut und entsprach nach Wunsch die ideale Schärfe. Die Räumlichkeiten waren sehr ordentlich und vielfältig eingerichtet. Woran man hier vielleicht noch etwas ändern könnte wäre der Service. Der junge Mann ist sehr unerfahren in Bezug auf einen guten Service was uns jedoch nicht abschreckt nochmals hier zu essen. Es ist ja schließlich kein 5 Sterne Lokal.

Wir bestellten einige Hauptspeisen in unsere Firma. Die Preise von Karte zum Homepage passten nicht. Reis als Beilage wurde mit mindestens 4€ zusätzlich berechnet. Die meisten von uns hatte die 35 bestellt. Wir kamen dann auf 19,50€ Für etwa 4-5 Stücke Hähnchenfleisch in einem halben Liter Sauce. Geschmach war o.k Allerdings mache ich ein Glas aus dem Supermarkt auf ,komme ich zusammen auf 4 € und es schmeckt nicht anders. Ich bestelle dort nicht noch mal

We were there on the weekend with a reservation for 6 people. Since it was my first time visiting an "Indian" restaurant, my expectations regarding the food were mixed. First of all, the service and the ambience were good, the drinks were at the table quickly. Due to the extensive menu and the lack of knowledge of what was on the plate, the orders took a long time. Since I'm not a fan of rice, I chose No. 33 just bread (Naan) and without rice. After about 1/2 - 3/4 hour it was served, first 3 large bowls of rice. According to the menu, my dish consisted of marinated lamb fillet in red curry sauce with tomatoes, onions, garlic and ginger. What was sent was an indefinable red-brown sauce in which a maximum of 5 - 6 small pieces of meat (100g, if any) were drowned and the whole thing was more reminiscent of baby porridge than of a main course. My bread was completely missing, but was delivered later and charged extra. Our friends who also ordered this type of dish had a similar experience. The amount wasn't nearly enough to make you feel full. Here the kitchen or the owner probably trusts that the guests will stuff their stomachs with the side dishes (rice). The taste of the dishes was acceptable due to the spices, but the quality has a lot of room for improvement. A good approach would be to reduce the menu to half and add photos of the dishes, because whether we would give Curryosity a second chance under these circumstances remains questionable.

The food was tasty. The portion was quite small, which in principle I am happier with than all those mega portions that you are served everywhere nowadays, if the price is right. In short: tasty but a bit too pricey.

Tried it for the first time today, I thought my Chicken Tikka, which I ordered to take away, was very good and I'll definitely be back.

The rice pudding was undercooked. The rice from the main course had no taste. The sauce wasn't salty enough. The cucumbers were gone in two spoons and tasted extremely disgusting. The naan was the wrong kind. The only good thing was the meat. But it wasn't worth 50 euros for two people in life.

We were the only guests in the restaurant. A main course was forgotten. Afterwards a drink that was ordered was not served. This is a pity.

The food was super tasty. However, the portions were very small. 2 people share 1x rice. You could add rice to each main dish. This is also done in other Indian restaurants. There was really very little meat in our meat main course (especially for the price). It's a shame... But otherwise delicious. Especially Garlic Naan and Mango Lassi.

Grottenschlecht kann ich nur sagen. Die Menükarte sah zunächst ganz gut aus. Grosse Auswahl dachten wir uns. Zwischen den beiden Gerichten die wir bestellten gab es jedoch überhaupt keinen Unterschied. Ausserdem war nicht alles dabei was unter dem Menü stand und das schlimmste war, dass nicht warm serviert wurde. Geschmacklich war es solala. Wir mögen indisches Essen und wir waren bisher in sehr vielen indischen Restaurants gewesen und würden hier bei einer Bewertung den letzten Platz vergeben. Da anscheinend keinem aufgefallen war, dass wir ein einjähriges Kleinkind dabei hatten, wollte ich mich auf die Suche nach einem Kinderstuhl machen. Die Dame die wohl gerade Dienstbeginn hatte und uns überhaupt gar nicht begrüßte brachte uns schliesslich doch den Stuhl. Zu guter Letzt noch: ob es uns geschmeckt hat oder ob alles in Ordnung ist hat keinen interessiert. Absolut nicht freundlich. Würde den Laden keinem empfehlen...

We ordered through Liferando. It was all very tasty and arrived quicker than expected. It could have even been spicier. But I also ordered medium hot because I didn't dare anymore. It was stupid that my friend got a Coconut (which wasn't even on the menu) even though he ordered the cashew. Unfortunately he hates coconut and then couldn't eat it.

Small, but nice. The food was really tasty, the service was very friendly. Unfortunately it was a bit cold there. But the atmosphere is really nice and cozy.

Today we had dinner there with the children. The first impression was positive. We were quickly shown to the table, the cards were handed out and then unfortunately it took a while. It seemed a little confused, but I think it's just different countries, different customs. We were all positively impressed, the food was really great, everything across the board, and in retrospect the service was great. We will definitely come back.

We chose this restaurant on a bike tour. We really enjoyed the food. The level of spice we ordered (medium hot) corresponded to our spiciness preference. We ordered different thali and papadam and the portion size was just right for us. The serving plates and the fresh naan round off the little trip to India.

First of all - the food was good. The service, however, thought that you could eat without plates and cutlery. Upon request, plates and cutlery were also available. The service definitely needs to be worked on.

We had food delivered for three people today. It definitely arrived quicker and was hot too. However, my Chicken Tikka Masala only had five pieces of chicken in it and tons of sauce. My friend also got the wrong dish. In our opinion, the cheese naan is better than the garlic naan. The price-performance ratio is not right in my opinion. If they work on the portion sizes I would come back.

I had a chicken vindaloo. It was pleasantly spicy for me, but it could have been spicier. Very tasty. I'm looking forward to trying out the rest of the map, which is actually a book. And the sofas create a very cozy atmosphere

Today we ordered 3 dishes and a soup. The food was very tasty and arrived really hot. The delivery time was also absolutely within limits. We found a few dishes on the menu that interest us. We will definitely order here more often.

We were there for the first time this evening. We are both very open to unusual spices and special food. And we were absolutely thrilled! Great ambience, super friendly service, soft, authentic background music, exciting menu, beautiful to look at, prices in the lower range (in contrast to German restaurants, all of which have massively increased their prices). The food was excellent, exceptional, extremely tasty 😋, nice spiciness as requested. We had lamb and chicken in spicy sauces, plus 3 times of papadum made from lentil flour with spicy yoghurts, which were definitely not from the supermarket, but homemade. We won't soon forget the experience and will definitely come back often to try out the other dishes.

We discovered this place accidentally and were pleased with the quality and taste of the food. They have many Vegan and Vegetarian options. Their Thalis are quite good. Mango lassi was yummy.

It was actually recommended by friends. Chicken Tikka starter. When I took a bite I noticed that the meat wasn't freshly prepared today. Unfortunately tough and dry. The main course was Tandori Mixteller. Chicken leg, breaded fish, breaded shrimp, minced rolls. At the first bite I noticed something was wrong, the meat was lukewarm. It was just COLD on the bone!? Cold meat was served. Luckily it was apparently just “warmed up”. The rest, totally bland and not seasoned. I know from my own experience that Indian cuisine is intense and relies on spices. Unfortunately the taste is a “0”. We won't go there again. Please modify.

Briefly about my personal details. I have already been to India myself and know authentic Indian cuisine. Positive: -Price performance and service are top -Food is delicious and adapted to the European palate -The mixed pickles that you mix with your food are authentic. Be careful, they can get spicy -The ambience in the interior is chic and almost too simple for Indian standards 😅 Constructive: - A 1/8 slice of lemon can be served with the onions. I know that from India -Main dishes are tasty but could use more ingredients, meat and paneer are available in a manageable amount -Toilets could be cleaner. Since it's part of the ambience for me, I deducted another point for this -after the meal there was always a spice mixture (anise, fennel,...) to chew in India to tone down the spices a bit, I think it would be great if they offered that, it would make the stay very authentic :) and it is the same in Germany to get. All in all it was a successful stay. Many thanks to the team 👍. Tip to the guest, feel free to drink a masalate tea after your meal 💪 Plus, the food tastes better when you eat it by hand. We ordered food over the phone and then picked it up. The employees were super nice and we had to wait just as long as announced. The food was very tasty! We will definitely repeat.

Sad and disappointed Unfortunately, I come back very disappointed from my visit to the restaurant today. For the first time I tried the thali, which was very tasty, but was served carelessly on a metal plate like a prison meal and the whole restaurant generally seemed very untidy. Service and ambience were unsatisfactory at lunchtime, where we were the only guests. I can understand that there may not be a lot of staff at the moment, but there should have been two “plates”. And for a thali, perhaps a more traditional dish. After all, the eye eats too. If I want tin or plastic, I can eat at McDonald’s or the sausage stand. It was all very embarrassing today because I wanted to introduce the restaurant and Indian food to a friend and the whole thing was a disaster in terms of atmosphere and presentation. So in the future we will no longer eat in the restaurant, at most we will take something away and for the time being I can't recommend anyone to eat there. But I'm sorry to see the restaurant go down the drain, as I was so happy when it opened that we finally had an Indian in town. Sigh.

Ich hatte Gericht Nr. 33 und musste doch feststellen das für 5 sehr kleine Stückchen Fleisch und eine Schale mit viel Sauce und Reis der Preis doch sehr überteuert ist. Auch die anderen Gerichte waren nicht zu unserer Zufriedenheit. Außerdem war es im hinteren Bereich des Restaurants sehr kalt und daher ungemütlich. Mit der EC Karte konnte nicht bezahlt werden, da das Lesegerät wohl defekt sein. Ein Hinweis bei der Bestellung wäre sicherlich hilfreich gewesen. Die Informationen für den Gast bestand aus einem kleinen Zettel, mit Kugelschreiber geschrieben, im obern Bereich der Tür. Bei Dunkelheit nicht zu erkennen. Also mussten wir erstmal bei Regen einen Geldautomaten suchen und unsere Begleitung, die wir als Pfand zurücklassen mussten, auslösen. Im Großen und Ganzen kein gelungener Restaurantbesuch.

Die Plüschsofas, im vorderen Bereich, sind ganz gemütlich. Das Essen war angemessen schnell fertig und mein Gericht (37) sehr lecker. Für mich waren die Portionen von der Größe her sättigend. Das ist aber kein Maßstab. Einige Mädels von uns hatten sich noch Brot dazu bestellt. Es wurde regelmäßig nachgefragt, ob wir noch etwas wünschten.

Dies ist meine/unsere persönliche Meinung. Wir waren dort insgesamt zweimal essen im Mai. Das Ambiente ist grundsätzlich ganz schön, alle waren freundlich, allerdings ist es viel zu eng gestellt bei den Sofas...Man kommt da sehr schwierig raus. Das Essen hat uns leider insgesamt nicht so überzeugt. Ich war schon sehr oft in verschiedenen Städten indisch essen und wir hatten nicht diese typische Geschmacksexplosion erlebt. Es schmeckte alles relativ ähnlich und es war insgesamt wirklich wenig Fleisch/Fisch in den Gerichten. Der angeblich indische Käse in einem Gericht schmeckte nach Tofu. Der Service hat uns leider auch nicht überzeugt, selbst, wenn der hier benannte D. freundlich und lustig ist. Aber man merkt einfach, dass es kein/e professioneller Kellner/Bedienung bei unserem Besuch, sondern ein Studi o. Ä. Trotzdem wünsche ich dem Restaurant viel Erfolg. VG
