General: After many years, we had dinner here on a Sunday. We used to come here regularly during the week for lunch. Since the restaurant was quite busy around lunchtime on Sunday, I definitely recommend making a reservation. Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. you have the opportunity to eat from the lunch menu. The portion itself is definitely enough and the prices are definitely cheaper. The menu also includes an appetizer. Either a noodle soup with chicken, Shanghai sour and spicy soup, a spring roll or a salad. Ambience: The restaurant is very comfortably furnished. There is a small pond with fish in the middle. You also have the opportunity to grab a spot around the pond to watch the fish and hear the splashing. The aquariums also really lighten the atmosphere. Overall, the entire decoration is pretty well coordinated and there is some music playing discreetly in the background. Food: The food always comes very quickly and promptly. You honestly can't complain. And, as always, the food was delicious. Nothing could be said about all four dishes. Especially with the sweet and sour sauce, I love it when there are lots of pineapple pieces in it. 🥰 Regarding the portions, I would say that they are very generous. And definitely quite enough. Service: Super nice and very fast staff. Even if we hadn't made a reservation, they still found a spot for us in the next room. The staff was still somehow present as soon as you needed something. When everyone had finished the soup, everyone cleared away immediately and the main course came straight after. There may be a small language barrier, but usually people will understand you. Prices: When I saw the prices on the menu, I had to swallow a bit. The prices have increased quite a bit over time. Parking: Next to the restaurant you have the option to drive into an underground car park and park or you can park outside the hotel in a free area. If you eat out during the week you get a coin from the restaurant to go out for free. Or, like ours, the barrier was open at the weekend. Conclusion: It was definitely a successful visit to the restaurant with a lot of delicious food. Because of the portions, you will definitely be full and the food is super delicious. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit. And I'm looking forward to being able to eat there again.

Worst Chinese restaurant ever. Charge 4.5 euros per bottle faucet water without telling the customer and then later charge 18 euros without notice. The dishes are deadly salty. This level of Chinese food is worst ever i have eaten in the past 30 years. If you are Asian, don’t eat at this restaurant. It is a fake Chinese restaurant. The beef is rotten and not fresh at all. All the dishes taste the same. Deadly Salty and not fresh at all. The price is ridiculously high with such a low quality. I should check the previous reviews’s review before choose this one. I don’t recommend this restaurant at all and will never go back. Now I understand why they make all of the dishes deadly salty, because you will have to drink a lot of water then they can charge you horrible expensive water. The water is not spring water, it is just water the water from the faucet. Wow, rediculous.

I didn't give it one star because the portion size was okay. But the taste is not suitable for Chinese people. The fried noodles taste almost the same as the boxed fried noodles sold in supermarkets for 3 euros per kilogram, but the price is not very cost-effective. Very clean restaurant with an elaborate setting and very friendly staff. The food is top, the lamb with onions and peppers (spicy) was really great, there is plenty of rice with extra sauce - so you can really enjoy your visit to the restaurant. I will definitely come back here as soon as the opportunity arises. Reservation is recommended. Free parking spaces can be found right next door in an underground car park (an inconspicuous sign shows the way to the entrance).

The food (lunch menu) is super tasty and very plentiful. The ambience is typical of this type of restaurant. There was enough space. Free parking is possible in the underground car park. But there are only limited parking spaces.

Super great food, friendly service but it was just extremely crowded and therefore it was difficult to get around all the conditions. Ambience very overloaded but tasteful, nice with the water and animals in the middle. Very loud, as everything is a large, open, huge hall with no real partitions, so you have no privacy and can only have limited conversations. Later it became emptier and quieter and therefore much more pleasant. Unfortunately I can't remember the names of all our dishes, ranging from duck to sweet and sour pork, vegetables, Thai spicy to fried noodles. But the pictures speak for themselves 😁

I've been driving past the Shanghai Restaurant again and again for years, even decades, and I was only in there recently. The restaurant is full of seating options and there are ornaments and decorations in a wide variety of shapes and colors on every wall and on every free window pane. Although you can always discover something new when you look around, it all takes you by surprise and can sometimes seem restrictive. When we entered, without a reservation, we were warmly greeted and shown to a free table that also had space for a stroller. However, the other employees were not so nice and seemed very pressured. One was running back and forth, pushing the cart of food down the aisles at a very high speed. He almost knocked over other guests several times. Others don't understand you, don't hear you, or ignore you. The menu in the restaurant is very large and the prices are very high. So we wanted to have a set menu, hoping to save money here but still be able to try a lot, so we ordered the Shanghai menu, thinking that we would be allowed to choose one of the dishes there. We were then informed by the waiter that all of the dishes listed were part of the menu. The fun costs 63 euros for two people. Includes 6 different reports, as well as a sour-spicy soup and a salad per person. The dishes also come with some fried rice. Afterwards there are baked bananas with honey. The soup and salad were delicious. Of the six dishes, only a few were good, others didn't convince us. The dishes can be summarized as “breaded and fried” and “fried chop suey style.” There isn't much variety here, despite the special menu. The quantities cannot be handled by two people. We had our food packed. Three people could easily have shared the main courses. Allowing food to go back can lead to a lot of food waste. I definitely can't recommend the menu. The prices are also very high for individual dishes, too high for what you get in the end. We were here on a Sunday, which is why there were no lunch menu options. However, I probably won't come here again.

We've been going here to eat for years. The selection of dishes from pasta dishes to dishes with chicken, beef, pork and fish is very large. Of course there is also the original Peking duck as a menu for 4 people or more. But it must be ordered in advance. In addition, there are not only the standard drinks, but also cocktails, including non-alcoholic ones, which are delicious and not exorbitantly priced. The service is great. There are enough parking spaces available. I recommend making reservations on Fridays and weekends.

Hatte immer einen sehr guten Ruf aber ich muss sagen man kann nicht vom Preis her ordentlich aufschlagen aber gleichzeitig qualitativ und mit dem Service runter gehen.

War aufgrund Empfehlung dort. Leider ein Reinfall...das Beste noch die Suppe, die WanTan schmeckten wie Karton und das Rindfleischgericht war mit mehliger Sosse, schlimmer als manches Fertiggericht. Ambiente ist aber schön und der Service gut. Laden war aber poppenvoll, muss also bessere Gerichte geben. Für mich aber: Nie wieder!

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, das Restaurant ist schön gestaltet. Das Essen war reichlich und hat auch gut geschmeckt, aber jetzt auch nichts außergewöhnliches. Der Kellner der uns bedient hat, hat wohl seinen Beruf verfehlt oder einen schlechten Tag gehabt. Ansonsten haben einen schönen Abend mit Freunden dort verlebt.

Problemlos erreichbar, jedoch sollte davor reserviert werden. Das Personal, das uns bediente war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Wir bestellten gebratenen Reis mit Gemüse und gebratene Nudeln mit Gemüse. Die Portionen sind üppig, sehr lecker und frisch. Der Preis, mit ca. 16/17 Euro ist etwas zu hoch aber noch im Rahmen. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und lässt nach dem Essen auch zum Verweilen ein. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Das Restaurant ist klassisch Chinesisch aufgebaut, mit Aquarium und Teich in der Mitte. Das Essen schmeckt gut jedoch finde ich inzwischen die Preise extrem hoch. Man muss mit durchschnittlich 20€ pro Hauptgericht rechnen.

Absolute Katastrophe. Mit Abstand das schlechteste chinesische Essen, dass ich je verkostet habe. Die kleine Wantan-Suppe wurde trotz einem stolzen Preis von 6 € mit billigsten Zutaten serviert (geschmacklose Brühe, kein landestypischen Zutaten, sondern nur weiße Champignons, die teils nach Dosenpilzen schmeckten). Die Wantans selbst wurden offenbar nicht frisch zubereitet, der Teig war im Kern noch völlig hart - die reinste Katastrophe. Dieser kulinarische Faux Pas wurde nur noch von der Hauptspeise und dem schlechten Service übertroffen: Hühnchen mit einer undefinierbar-säuerlichen Glutamatsoße, serviert von einem unfreundlichen Kellner. Einmal und nie wieder! Die zwei Sterne gibt es für die wirklich schöne Einrichtung. Keine Ahnung, wie dieses Restaurant überhaupt überlebt. Vermutlich nur, weil es in Gerlingen keine Alternativen gibt...

Warum nur 4 Sterne, ganz klar der Preis und die Preiserhöhungen in den letzen 3 Jahren. Ich gehe hier seit nun mehr 10 Jahren fast jede Woche einmal mit meinem Kollegen zum Mittagessen, außer wenn einer Urlaub hat. Wir essen immer das Gleiche und freuen uns eigentlich jede Woche darauf. Letzte Woche die nächste Preiserhöhung nach den Sommerferien. Ein Mittagsgericht aus der Mittagskarte und eine Spezi 0,4l pro Person inzwischen 16,90 Euro, wobei die Spezi klar Club Preise hat mit 4,90 Euro für 0,4l. Das ist schon heftig. Sowohl über Portionsgröße als auch die Freundlichkeit des Personals und auch das Ambiente kann man nicht meckern und das würde ich klar als gut einstufen, aber wie gesagt, der Preis schreckt inzwischen echt ab. Für mal eben Mittagessen echt sportlich.

Wirklich sehr leckeres Essen. Wir waren zum Geburtstag eingeladen. Bei den Preisen musste ich kurz schlucken,bei uns auf dem Land zahlen wir noch deutlich weniger. Aber dafür natürlich tolles Ambiente,mit den Fischen,Brunnen, ein echter Hingucker und die Kinder freut es noch mehr.

Sehr lecker und sehr aufmerksam. Ein Freund von uns hatte hier Geburtstag gefeiert und der Kellner war sehr aufmerksam und brauche einen Teller mit Obst, Eis und Tischfeuerwerk an den Tisch. Tolle Aufmerksamkeit des Hauses. Seine Tochter bekam ebenso ein Eis. Das Essen war sehr sehr lecker und die Kellner sehr freundlich. Gerne wieder und vor allem öfters. Weiterempfehlend zu 100%.

Wir waren in den letzten 20 Jahren schon sehr oft in diesem Restaurant und sind stets zufrieden nach Hause gegangen. Besonders schätzen wir das Ambiente im Shanghai. Diesmal war unser Besuch sehr enttäuschend. Wir hatten für 21 Personen anläßlich eines Geschäftsessens im Nebenraum Plätze reserviert. Unsere Bedienung (weiblich) war sehr unfreundlich und unaufmerksam. Wir mussten immer wieder nach unseren Bestellungen fragen, welche einfach vergessen wurden. Kleine Kinder mussten lange auf ihr bestelltes Eis warten, weil andere Gäste bedient werden mussten (Aussage der Bedienung). Kinderfreundlichkeit wird in diesem Lokal im übrigen stark vernachlässigt. U.a. hatten wir eine Flasche Chardonnay Wein bestellt, welche uns ohne Kühlung auf den Tisch gestellt wurde. Diesen haben wir klar als Wein von einem Discounter wiedererkannt, der dort 3,99 € kostet.Auf der Rechnung standen satte 35.-€, in der Getränkekarte war dieser Wein gar nicht aufgeführt. Auf unsere Beschwerde hin erwiderte der Chef, wir seien selber schuld, wenn wir eine Flasche Wein bestellen würden, der nicht auf der Getränkekarte stand. Die Bedienung hatte uns diese Flasche einfach auf den Tisch gestellt. Die bestellte Ente bei meiner Tiban Pfanne war sehr fettig, das Gemüse geschmacklos und im Gegensatz zu unseren früheren Besuchen war alles überhaupt nicht knusprig. Ebenso hatten wir das Gefühl, dass wir nach 22.00 Uhr eigentlich gehen sollten. Nachtischkarten wurden erst nach Nachfrage ausgegeben. Der Chef erklärte, er habe kein gutes Personal mehr. Gleichzeitig lobte er sein Restaurant als das beste China Restaurant im Umkreis. Sorry, aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und die unfreundlichen Bedienungen passen einfach nicht mehr zu diesem Restaurant. Vielleicht sollte man auch mit langjährigen Stammkunden etwas anders umgehen. Wir waren seither immer begeistert, doch wir möchten nicht mehr wiederkommen, wenn wir so behandelt werden.

Wir waren früher immer gerne im Shanghai essen, da es als eines der besten China- Restaurants im Stuttgarter Raum galt. Leider war diese Erfahrung diesmal nicht so gut. Die Qualität des Essens war eher durchwachsen und das Essen leider sehr stark gesalzen.

Seit Jahren sind wir Kunden (ca. 12 Jahre). Das Essen war wirklich noch nie geschmacklich schlecht. Der Service ist hervorragend. Der Besitzer ist super nett. Ambiente ist wirklich schön. Preise finde ich angemessen da es geschmacklich super ist und die Portionen sind wirklich mehr als ausreichend. Sehr gute Park Möglichkeiten.
