China-Restaurant Lotus in Tuttlingen

Yesterday, we went to the Lotus Chinese restaurant in Tuttlingen for lunch for the second time, but unfortunately, this time we had a very bad experience. The restaurant offers a buffet and self-service, and at the exact moment when about ten people were standing at the buffet, a little sauce dripped from my plate onto the floor. The owner's behavior was unacceptable: because of this minor mishap, she reprimanded me loudly and humiliatingly in front of many other guests. Even though I apologized immediately and cleaned the floor myself, she was arrogant, condescending, and disrespectful. Furthermore, the owner speaks very poor German with a difficult-to-understand accent, which made communication even more difficult. Such behavior and communication are completely inappropriate and shameful towards a guest. The food was also monotonous and lacked variety, but the owner's behavior surpassed everything else. A restaurant should always treat its guests with respect and courtesy. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone because you don't feel like a valued guest there, but rather like a nuisance. Following the restaurant team's response, I'd like to clarify: Unfortunately, their reply has confirmed my belief that my experience at the restaurant was exactly as I described it. Of course, I did nothing of the sort they claim. In my opinion, these statements are false and personally offensive. I apologized immediately and resolved the minor incident myself – a respectful approach would have been perfectly sufficient. Since false allegations about me are now being made publicly, I have inquired about my legal options.

Good food, lots of choice at the buffet, extremely friendly

What does "good home cooking" mean in Chinese? After a long time, we went there for lunch again today. The days when a sign outside said "Lunch Buffet 5 Euros" are over, but for just under 10 euros, you can still get a very good Chinese-style lunch here. The dishes are attractively presented in the display and are regularly refilled. Various pork, beef, and poultry dishes are available, along with rice, fried noodles, and the classic Peking soup. A small salad buffet and fresh fruit round out the offerings. You won't find shrimp, duck, or other specialties there, but that wouldn't be expected at this price. Better a smaller selection, but fresh and well-prepared. We enjoyed our meal and would gladly come back.

We've always enjoyed going to Lotus. We don't know if it's because we have a harder time digesting fat, or if the food is now more fatty. My husband has had massive problems the last two times, and he's almost never come home. I had problems too, though not as severe. My husband doesn't want to go there anymore for the time being. 🤷

The food is very good with a good selection. The buffet also offers excellent value for money. Everything is freshly prepared, and the portions are more than generous. Occasionally, when it's busy, a second server is needed. However, the owner is always very courteous and attentive. Unfortunately, they don't accept card payments.

Just not edible. Health officials should be sent there. Even plain rice with vegetables has such an underground taste that I wouldn't even let my dog ​​eat it. The meat is so fatty and oily and it is breaded so thickly that there is hardly any meat left. The sauces are watery and taste like nothing. I shouldn't even start talking about the rest. Staff extremely unfriendly. So anyone who recommends you to eat there doesn't have their life under control. Better to throw your money out the window. I'm not paying for a stomach ache.

I am from China and I didn’t expect I can find an authentic Chinese and delicious meal like this in Germany 😂. Lotus has very tasty food, super good value of price, there are more than 20 kinds of dishes, I especially like the Pekingsuppe and bratnudeln, I had 3 bowls of pekingsuppe!it’s a must try Chinese restaurant of Tuttlingen!! You will never be disappointed

After a hard day at the trade fair, the team wanted to go out for dinner. There wasn't much going on in the restaurant, and to our surprise there was only a buffet. Which is actually not for us. The buffet was okay, nothing special, just standard dishes. The service also left a lot to be desired, we would have liked to have something to drink but the service came and didn't come.

We were there with a group at around 1:00 p.m. for the buffet and many of the dishes were no longer refilled, so we couldn't try everything.

Wasn't there for about 5 years. Today I picked up noodles fried with vegetables €10 and beef chop suey €13.50. Both disappointing. The vegetables consisted of a few carrot zest, onions and 5 bean sprouts. The beef's sauce was a broth. See photos. We remembered different tastes. We only had to wait a short time.

It's just a bottomless impudence. We ordered something to take away and were guided by the prices on the menu. When we got there, we woke up: the prices on the internet are not the same as in the restaurant and suddenly it costs almost twice as much and you also have to pay an extra €1 because we take it with us. This was not explicitly stated anywhere. Unfortunately, the food isn't seasoned at all and is very, very fatty. As if that wasn't outrageous enough, we were then charged twice as much, even though we only wanted one duck and one extra chicken (without rice/sauce/vegetables). This is such a bad Chinese, it's unbelievable how he can hold his own and have such good reviews here...

Great meal once again. Duck, liver, chicken, scampi and fried fish, croquettes, vegetables, rice, fries and salad were just great. Baked bananas and fruit as a crowning touch👍. And as always, a very nice and attentive service manager. Actually, the only thing missing from the 5th star is a slightly better coffee. We'll be back😇

Ich habe von vielen gehört das es das beste China Restaurant in Tuttlingen sein soll. Für mich persönlich ist es das definitiv nicht. Alles in allem ist es OK. Das Buffet ist nicht sehr abwechslungsreich, das Fleisch war mir persönlich viel zu weich gekocht, auf den Service wegen Getränken muss man warten und das Ambiente entspricht dem eines alten deutschen Gasthauses. Kann man mal hingehen und sich selbst einen Eindruck machen, aber für mich war es das erste und letzte Mal. Gibt einfach deutlich bessere Alternativen in Tuttlingen.

Schönes schlichtes Buffet mit etwas von allem.Leider kein Sushi und wenig Auswahl am Salatbuffet.Auch die Beschilderung sehr dürftig.Aufgefüllt wurde in kurzen Abständen.Zum Nachtisch gebackene Banane war aber als solche nicht gekennzeichnet.Was die Kids ziemlich doof fanden das es kein Eis gegeben hat zur Auswahl an dem Buffet.Preis pro Person Erwachsenen find ich angebracht.Für Kinder ab 3 8!€ etwas zu teuer.Und das man nicht mit Karte zahlen kann find ich in der heutigen Zeit nicht mehr angebracht.Also immer genug Bargeld mitnehmen.

Super freundlicher Service, gutes Essen und sauberes, Ambiente! Toiletten sind so lala, nich wirklich modern aber zweckdienlich und sauber. Parkplätze leider nich so gut, gibt aber genügend Ausweichmöglichkeiten in der näheren Umgebung. Ich empfehle a la cart zu bestellen, das Buffet ist nicht so meins ;)

Ich fand es dort gut, waren dort jetzt schon mehrere male und das Büffe ist an sich ganz gut.

Sehr Lecker! Es ist ein aufgeräumtes und sauberes China Restaurant. Das Buffet ist zwar klein dafür aber auch immer frisch, das Gemüse ist auf den Punkt und das Fleisch super zart. Einziger Kritikpunkt, es gibt keine Ente und kein Rindfleisch beim Buffet, das fehlt devinitiv! Ansonsten wirklich nur zu empfehlen 👍😋

Super nette Bedienung! Gutes Essen zu einem unschlagbaren Preis!

Das Mittagsbuffet war für 8€ völlig in Ordnung. Es war genügend Auswahl an Fleisch- und vegetarischen Gerichten vorhanden. Auch wurden leere Behälter wieder zügig aufgefüllt. Die Salatbar hingegen ist etwas dürftig.

Abendessen freitags. Auf Nachfrage gibt es heute nur Essen vom Buffet. Schade... Preis/Leistung war gut. Essen wurde am Buffettisch regelmäßig und schnell aufgefüllt. Bedienung war freundlich. Kam aber zu selten an den Tisch. Hatten daher zeitweise sehr viele Teller auf dem Tisch stehen. Lokal war gut gefüllt. Viel junges Publikum. Liegt wohl am günstigen Preis... Leider unserem Vernehmen nach nur über mehrere Treppen zugängliches Restaurant, sprich nicht behindertengerecht. Fazit: Für den kleineren Geldbeutel oder bei viel Hunger auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Kleines Chinesisches Restaurant. Viele Speisen auf der Karte. Die Bedienung war freundlich. Die Portionen waren ok. Geschmacklich haben uns die typischen asiatischen Gewürze gefehlt. Die Preise sind angemessen. Keine EC Karten Zahlung möglich. Das Buffet wird nur eröffnet wenn genug Gäste anwesend sind.... Das fanden wir schade, weil ja eigentlich damit Werbung gemacht wird.

Das Buffet war übersichtlich und lecker, aber ich bin auf ein Essen von der Speisekarte gespannt für das nächste Mal. Bedienung sehr freundlich und auch mit Kleinkind (3J) kein Problem.

Wir fanden die Bedienung von der Kellnerin nicht freundlich. Eigentlich wollten wir erst später was trinken und zuerst das Buffet genießen, aber laut der Dame mussten wir zuerst etwas trinken, sonst durften wir das Buffet nicht essen. In Ordnung. Wir haben eine Flasche Wasser bestellt (6 Euro). Das Buffet war ok: das Hänchenfleisch war wie Wasser und das Gemüse pfade und geschmacklos. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass Vieles, wie die Dosenpfirsiche (wir haben gesehen, wie sie diese aus der Dose in den Buffetbehälter leerte), schnell und lieblos vorbereitet war. Vor dem Eingang war außerdem ein Aschenbecher voller Zigaretten – nicht sehr einladend. Für den Preis 6.80 pro Person für das Buffet soll man vielleicht nicht viel erwarten, aber wenn wir ganz ehrlich sind, haben viel besser in anderen Chinesen Restaurants gegessen.

weil immer frische Qualität, vernünftige Preise, sehr freundliche, schnelle Bedienung. Der Koch schnippelt frisch, das schmeckt man und unterscheidet sich von anderen Lokalen. Das Buffet wird immer wieder neu aufgefüllt, auch die Pommes Frites sind sensationell. Tipp- beim Koch eine Garnelen-Suppe bestellen, dauert vielleicht etwas, schmeckt aber göttlich und man ist satt bis zum nächsten Tag. Die Eigentümer sind ein liebes Ehepaar aus Südchina.
