China-Restaurant Lotus in Freudenstadt

The restaurant is a bit out of the way and we only discovered it by chance while looking for a parking space. Good parking at Kasernenplatz. The furnishings are a bit old, but everything is very clean. The food is freshly prepared and special requests are happy to be fulfilled. We were very positively surprised and will be happy to come back on our next vacation

Excellent southern Chinese cuisine always freshly prepared

Hard to find for out-of-towners and the ambience is a bit outdated, but freshly prepared dishes. A visit is worth it. Please allow a little more time. Everything is freshly cooked.

We have been going to Lotus for over 20 years and have never been disappointed! Every dish is freshly prepared and cooked without artificial additives. The waiting time can sometimes be longer because only the man prepares everything himself and his wife does the service. We can fully recommend the Lotus and hope that it will last for a few more years!

Very, very bad, the two of us were there last Saturday. The restaurant was empty except for two other tables. The waiting times for the food are unreasonable. The food didn't taste good & it was only luke warm to cold. Absolutely not tasty. Goes to another restaurant. I even felt nauseous a few hours after eating. A no-go 👎👎👎

We were in this restaurant for the first time in 1984. Back then it was already a top address if you liked Chinese cuisine. Then we were no longer in the region for professional reasons for many years. However, when we got back, we went back to the Lotus restaurant. On the first page of the menu it says that it takes longer to get your food. There's a good reason for that. The dishes are freshly prepared. The owners are older, but very nice and friendly. Definitely worth a visit. Even if everything is getting a little old. The food is simply great. And the prices are also very good for the quality When it's not so busy, you can see the bamboo shoots being freshly picked by the landlady. It's just great if you have time and can talk to the landlady. She is simply adorable. It's always nice to be there.

Great Chinese. The only one I know who cooks duck like he used to. Because of Corona, I haven't been there since last year and today it's still the same fresh, good quality as at the beginning. If there isn't a lot going on, I can only recommend a good chat with the very wise hostess. Her husband in the kitchen and she have been doing the service together for 30 - 40 years. Take your time 😉 Last week the hostess said that as long as she can remember the numbers from the very large memory card, she will work. I wish her long health, she can do that.

First of all they don’t accept card. Come prepared with loads of cash if you want to dine here. Food is good but the portions are really small. Service is okay and slow. Don’t expect much.

Nice Asian restaurant, food is freshly prepared when ordered. Unfortunately, it sometimes takes a long time for the order to be taken and the food to arrive. The prices are also a bit high for the portions offered.

Good food, but it took 24 mins. for a vegetarian spring roll to arrive, which ended up being filled with minced meat. Prices on the high side, portions small to medium. Dated interior and messy reception area but friendly service.

Best Asian I've ever visited. Fresh food, everything prepared fresh. Everything you can prepare yourself, such as spring rolls and ice cream. Portions very fair compared to the price. Very nice lady who served us. I will definitely come back more often despite the 2.5 hour drive

A little off the main square, more traditional than tourist food. The lady spoke good English far better than my German. She has owned the restaurant for 42 years. The food was lovely. Menu in English so no need for translation. Welcoming of our Greyhound which was very nice.

We spontaneously went to the Asia Restaurant Lotus. The decision was made based on the reviews. First impression, it smelled strongly of food. More like a chip shop. The furnishings are not comfortable, rather functional. A former German restaurant with lamps and pictures also trimmed in China. The service wasn't unfriendly. But the older lady wasn't paying attention either. Sometimes I had the impression that the plates were being put down as we walked past. The food was freshly made. The meat and vegetables cooked to perfection. But I can't help but feel that it was made with ready-made sauce and glutamate is a main ingredient. Unfortunately, that was probably the last visit there.

Great food, boss serves with a lot of expertise and charm

Upon arrival we immediately asked if we could eat with them without using flavor enhancers in the kitchen and this was okay because they do not use them, this is very important because of my wife's allergies. After checking other Chinese restaurants in the area, we were able to continue our search, which ultimately brought us to Lotus. After placing our order, we found it took quite a while before we received our starter, despite the fact that there were only 4 people in the restaurant at that early evening. But then it turned out that the waitress (70 years old) was the only waitress and owner and the cook was her husband, also 70, and the only one in the kitchen, so it was a 2-man company. The ingredients were freshly cut every minute, she said, so nothing is unnecessarily thrown away and everything is therefore "squeaky fresh". That is why we had to correct our thoughts out of respect for these people. the fact that it took a little longer than usual. So everything was super fresh on the table and my Chinese shrimps with Chinese vegetables contained so many shrimps that it was still "old-fashioned". could easily be eaten by 2 people and this was the same with my wife's dish and everything was REALLY FRESH. Not for people who want a hasty meal, but who want to enjoy their meal quietly. The decor was, as we call it, "a bit old-fashioned", but you can see through that during the meal. When I asked her afterwards how they managed all that with 2 people, this sweet woman said "if it gets too busy at some point I will close the restaurant" very special experience. So the food is really good AND FRESH. Recommended for all those who are NOT in a hurry but want good and delicious food.

After dealing with the construction getting around the city and looking in vain for another restaurant we came upon the Lotus Restaurant by complete chance. It was after 9PM but we were warmly welcomed. The cuisine authentic and very very tasty. Next time I am in Freudenstadt I will certainly dine there again!

Ich kann die positiven Bewertungen absolut nicht nachvollziehen. Hänchenfleisch von minderer Qualität, geschmack künstlich, irgendwie nach Brühwürfel. Dazu noch teuer. Z.B. Frühlingsrolle zu 4,90.- diese gab es einfach so auf einem Teller, nicht mal eine Sauce oder irgendeine Garnitur dazu. Geschmacklich dazu ebenfalls sehr bescheiden. Nicht empfehlenswert!

Wow.... es dauert etwas länger als bei den üblichen Asiaten und es lohnt sich! Frau Young ist schon etwas älter und sie hat ihr eigenes System für den Service. Dabei ist sie aufmerksam bis in kleinste. Sehr köstliches Essen mit einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre. Danke!

Das BESTE chinesische Essen, dass ich seit 30 Jahren gegessen habe!!! Kaum zu beschreiben! Alles frisch, alles mit Finesse zubereitet, die Gewürze fein abgestimmt, ein Genuss für Liebhaber der chinesischen Küche! Jedes Gericht wird bei Bestellung frisch zubereitet. Und die Bedienung so außergewöhnliche höflich und freundlich wie das Essen lecker!!! Ich kam Sonntag Abend kurz vor 21 Uhr in das Lokal und fragte nach warmer Küche und trotz einer Stunde vor Feierabend wurde für mich gekocht und ich mit aller Freundlichkeit bedient! Ein echter Geheimtipp!!! Vielen lieben Dank! Überaus empfehlenswert und gerne wieder!!! 10 von 5 Sternen... :-)

Würde gerne den sechsten Stern hier vergeben. Zufällig entdeckt, hat uns dieser gemütlicher Laden begeistert. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienung hat uns sehr berührt. Sehr Empfehlenswert!

Esse hier seit über 10 Jahren regelmäßig. Meiner Meinung nach das beste chinesische Restaurant in der ganzen Umgebung, welches sich und sein essen nicht zum billigen Tiefkühlkost-Restaurant degradiert. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Essen super, aber wir haben 2 ganze Stunden gewartet, bis von allen endlich das Essen da war. Es gibt einen Koch und eine Frau die das Essen rausträgt. Ein weiter Kellner wäre sehr empfehlenswert.

Ein super chinesisches Restaurant, gepflegte Einrichtung. Gute Speisekarte zu bezahlbaren Preisen. Essen kam alles zu gleichen Zeit. Portionen sehr vernünftigen Größen und heiß genug. Es immer eine Freude, wenn man aus Augsburg anreist, um hier das Essen zu genießen. Bitte weiter so. Wir freuen uns auf's nächste mal.

Bestes China Restaurant - zu empfehlen sind die Pei-Po-Ente und das Chop Suey Seit ich ein Kind bin, gehe ich schon dort zum Essen hin.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich an Menge. Auch das Kontaktlose bestellen und bezahlen ging problemlos. Frisch und lecker UND umweltfreundliche Verpackungen. Wir wurdwn gefragt, ob wir aus FDS kommen und weil wir das tun, bekamen wir unser Essen in Tupperdosen, die wir einfach im Laufe der Zeit haben zurück bringen sollen. Wirklich ausgezeichnet und fantastisch.
