Awful! We're speechless. Chaos, packed, filthy. And most importantly: the food was terrible. The fries were easily three days old, the jelly was swimming in liquid, and the prawn crackers were ancient. Absolutely appalling. And we paid €96 for two kids!!! Never again! I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

It's simply brilliant if you go with a group. There's something for everyone.

I really like it there; the food is delicious, with freshly prepared plates that you can assemble yourself, or you can choose from the ready-cooked items at the buffet. Desserts like cake, fruit, and ice cream are always available, as well as coffee 😋 and cold drinks. The service is quick and clean 👍 The prices are reasonable. But be careful not to overeat, it could give you a stomachache 😄

A classic example of ALL YOU CAN EAT. A decent selection. Most of the ingredients are fresh and tasty. All the prepared dishes are well-prepared. The fried ingredients are not always consistent here; sometimes they're overcooked or dry, sometimes they're tasty and juicy, depending on the chef or how busy the establishment is. A decent selection of seafood. Five types of shrimp, as well as crab, crayfish, mussels, squid, octopuses, and much more. Some people often celebrate birthdays and other group events here. Overall, it's decent and recommended.

Be careful, they'll charge you for things that aren't on the card. It's way too much, and not what's shown on the card. You won't get an invoice even after asking.

We went there for my daughter's birthday at lunchtime. As always, there was a great selection, including bottled drinks, ice cream, and much more, all self-service. Beer and wine are served by the glass at the counter.

So, forget about going on Sunday happy hour... It's packed with riffraff behaving like absolute garbage, pushing and shoveling plates high as extras and piling them on the table... The staff can't keep up with refilling them. It's so crowded and jostling everywhere you can barely breathe. The counter at the grill station was also overflowing with plates. Some of the stuff I hadn't even ordered ended up on mine. We usually go later in the day, when it's much nicer. But this experience was so awful that we left early. We'll be avoiding it for a while... Horrible...

Yes, you pay €32. But it's not worth it. For me, for us, never again. Absolutely not recommended. I've confirmed it again. This kind of restaurant is not for me.

I'm from Frankfurt am Main and often visit my mother in Wuppertal. A visit to this Chinese restaurant has become a must. There's an incredible selection and everything is so delicious. I've never experienced such a good Chinese buffet. The meat (e.g. the duck) is so tender it falls apart. The breaded fish is also soft as butter. The best peanut sauce 👌 Everything is just so delicious. The selection of drinks is huge too. Unfortunately I can't say anything about dessert. So far I've never made it to dessert, I would have burst. 😃 But we've decided to start with dessert next time and I'll add my comment. The staff are very friendly. Yes, without a reservation you'll happily wait in line outside the door for at least 30 minutes for the lunch buffet. But when the weather is bad an employee writes down your names in the order you're in line so you can, for example, stand under the roof if it rains. So, very attentive. All in all, it's always great there. I also think it's good that there's a surcharge if you're too wasteful with the food and leave too much on the table. Great campaign against food waste. I think it's good that there's a limited time to eat, so that everyone waiting has a chance. It's really popular and definitely worth more than 4 stars!!! The only thing I'm missing are the fortune cookies :) 🥠. ​​But I guess that would be too much for the crowds. Maybe a campaign where 0.50 cents per cookie 😌, of which 0.25 cents would be donated to an organization. I think that would be great. See you again soon.

Very delicious food, some of which change at the buffet. The staff is attentive and helpful. Especially with included drinks, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable! I've been there several times and have always been very satisfied.

We were there with eight people. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. The only thing the restaurant itself can't do about was the noise level, but otherwise, it's highly recommended.

I described the evening meal as an event. Ordering was organized via a tray. I didn't have my reading glasses with me, and therefore I was a bit lost. For the first time, an introduction would have been nice. A large selection of food and drinks. The food arrived as soon as the kitchen prepared something and was the first to come out. This meant that not everyone got their food at the same time, thus eliminating the communal meal at the same time. The quality of the dishes was good. Next time I will try it with a small group.

The best Chinese restaurants in Wuppertal

At first, I thought the price of €30 for a buffet was quite high, but when I saw the wide selection on offer, including a grill counter with tons of raw seafood and even meat and vegetables that are grilled directly and of very high quality, the price was more than justified. Even a large selection of drinks is included in the price. It is highly recommended. The lovely atmosphere and great staff are definitely worth a visit. Thank you very much.

China City has doubled its prices. €32 per person, even for our 10-year-old grandson, is definitely too much. The menu isn't typically Chinese either, more like a snack bar. After paying, I wasn't allowed to keep my slip and didn't receive a receipt. My conclusion: NEVER AGAIN

I've been visiting China City for years, more or less frequently. Its convenient location makes it a great place to meet friends. The last time I was there was before the renovation and the switch to "soft drinks included in the price," and I wasn't impressed. The duck was dry, and the ice cream was swimming in water. After the renovation, I noticed some improvements. The new buffet counter is a bit more organized and cleaner, and the display doesn't look so cramped anymore. (Otherwise, it would only have been a 2-star rating.) It seems the staff has been reduced; that's the impression I got, because before the renovation, drinks were offered and charged separately. Overall, the restaurant has the ambiance of a cafeteria with a slightly Asian flair, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The furniture, especially the chairs, has clearly seen its fair share of wear and tear. The restrooms have never been particularly inviting. During peak hours, the restaurant is very noisy, making conversation extremely difficult. What I do appreciate is the €5 penalty for leaving full plates uneaten. Clearly, this measure was implemented for their own benefit, but it's still disrespectful to pile your plate high and then not eat it. You can always go back as often as you like and get smaller portions. After 2.5 hours, they close anyway. In conclusion: You can eat there, and it's adequate. The focus is on high throughput within a limited timeframe per guest. So, it's essentially a (European) Chinese-style cafeteria.

A buffet-only restaurant. Large. Sometimes loud. A cafeteria-like atmosphere. Despite the increased prices, some high-quality items have been removed from the lunch buffet. Instead, there are now fries, pork knuckle, ribs, goulash, etc., although I wonder what that's doing at an Asian buffet.

Everything is always good there

Really good visit except when leaving. At the end of the meal the staff gave me a 1.25 ltr of coke zero in which i added peppermint extract. I proceeded to leave when an elderly man outside said I had to leave the bottle of soda on the table outside. What started out as a welcome gift sure to invite my family and I to return, became a crazy experience to leave a sour experience in the memory. I'm often amazed at businesses who damage their own reputation in foolish ways.

In short: A lot of money for 0 quality. Very poor frozen food quality ☹️ Tasteless food, poor labeling, the ginger in the sushi tasted moldy. The atmosphere was lacking because you sit on worn chairs and the tables and floor weren't clean. The staff were grumpy and unfriendly. You can't get good food for €32, which is a shame ☹️

Very expensive: 32 euros on a Sunday for an 11-year-old child over 1.40m tall. How much can a child eat? I find Xiao Elberfeld better quality, and for children up to 14 years old, it's 14.90. Adults also have better prices. Okay, drinks are free, but how much can you drink for 1-2 drinks? My son had to pay 32 euros for one serving of fries with shrimp and an ice cream. Never again.

I'll be honest, I didn't like it much. The staff acted like they were there as a punishment. The food wasn't amazing either, but what can you eat for 30 euros in two and a half hours?

There's no place in Wuppertal or the surrounding area with a greater selection of dishes and such a fast grill. The food is exceptionally fresh, and the drinks are plentiful. It takes a lot of willpower to control yourself.

Large selection of seafood. Beef steak cooked to perfection in one piece, 100% top-notch. The quality is very good and well-seasoned, which I personally really like; it's not as bland as usual. The selection of non-alcoholic drinks is overwhelming. In short, it's good here.

We were passing through the Tesla Charger and shortened our time in China City. The restaurant is very large, and the crowds made the atmosphere more like a train station concourse. But the food at the buffet was absolutely fantastic. We didn't get to try everything, but what we had was truly excellent; the Chinese food at home isn't as delicious. We will definitely come back here again.

I was at China City on Saturday afternoon. Despite the huge crowd, everything was always restocked, very clean, and the buffet selection was impressive – exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant like this. A huge variety of food, all fresh and delicious. The drinks selection is also top-notch: Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, all varieties of Fuze Tea, all Bionades, Grannini juices, ViO spritzers, and Apollinaris water. Service was quick and attentive when clearing up. The only downside: it was incredibly crowded, and some of the customers were quite "greedy" – elbows out as if there was nothing else to eat. 😂😂😂 Nevertheless: This restaurant absolutely deserves 5 out of 5 stars!

China City Wuppertal – Our Experience The all-you-can-eat buffet costs 30 euros per person. The price includes two alcoholic drinks per guest and a good selection of soft drinks, including Coke, Fanta, organic lemonade, and other beverages. In our opinion, this price is too high for what is offered. While the selection of dishes was extensive, we found that much of it had little to do with classic Chinese cuisine: pork knuckles, spare ribs, Chicken McNuggets, and a lot of fried fast food. Overall, the food felt like a snack bar. While the duck tasted relatively good, we felt they kept mixing in chicken to make it look like more duck. The shrimp seemed completely overcooked. We didn't find any classic dishes like Eight Treasures, and in general, we noticed very few dishes with a balanced combination of meat, vegetables, and sauce. At the Mongolian grill, the ingredients were still frozen or solid in the display. My lamb tasted sour and was inedible, so I returned the plate. The chicken skewers were overcooked for my taste and cut so small that it was difficult to remove the meat from the skewer. The chicken wings seemed unusually small, with hardly any meat on them. We also had a negative impression regarding hygiene. In the refrigerated meat section of the Mongolian grill, we saw numerous flies on the food, even though the drawers were closed. Furthermore, we felt there was no functioning air conditioning. With outside temperatures of 26 to 27 degrees Celsius, it was even warmer inside for us because the entrance door was open. This also allowed wasps and flies into the restaurant, which we found annoying. In my opinion, the ambiance hasn't changed since my last visit a few years ago. Many chairs seemed worn and unkempt. The large dining room was almost empty during our visit and didn't seem very inviting. Nevertheless, upon arrival, a card with an arrival time was placed on our table, apparently to limit our stay to two to two and a half hours. I can understand such a thing during peak times, but on an evening with few guests, it seemed unnecessary. Conclusion: For me, quantity outweighed quality. In my opinion, the €30 per person offering is significantly overpriced. The food could certainly be prepared much better, but I asked myself: Do you even want that? Do you want guests to eat a lot and be satisfied, or do you want them to leave quickly because the offerings aren't convincing? Unfortunately, after this visit, the answer is clear to me.

I walked into the store extremely hungry, ate 2-3 plates full of anticipation… after that, it was just cram… my colleague broke out in a sweat but still managed the 4th and 5th plates. Demanding a whole €32 for the “large buffet” on Sundays is quite outrageous! Didn't see any difference to the weekly buffet.

I was there once and never again!! The atmosphere has nothing to do with a Chinese restaurant, not comfortable at all, more like a canteen at the airport! The food is varied but it doesn't taste good at all. They just focus on quantity instead of quality. I also had stomach intestinal problems for two days after the visit, friends of mine have also had this experience!!

We ate there yesterday and it cost around €30 per person. We didn't eat anything earlier that day because we knew we were going to Allyoucaneat. Good selection of Asian and German food

Of course there are all the familiar dishes from the Chinese buffet. In addition: Sushi is okay, salad is good, but the fresh ingredients are best for frying and of course there are not only all the usual soft drinks with the all you can drink, there is also coffee and, at the end, various desserts including ice cream. We've been there twice now for the big buffet (Happy Hours/Adend) and it was great both times! The buffet is really huge and offers something for everyone, and there is also a large grill station that offers the opportunity to have your own chosen ingredients freshly prepared. Vegetarian dishes and sushi can also be found, as well as fruit, cakes and ice cream. The selection of drinks is also very large and if you want that, two beers or wine are included in the price. A clear plus point: Sustainability is also taken into account here. If you leave more than half in the glass or food on the plate, you pay an extra €5. I think that's great! Basically, as is often the case, the price can be discussed. During happy hour on the weekend you pay €25 per person. after happy hour 30€/32€. I find it relatively expensive, but that's because I don't eat that much. For a good eater, I think the price is absolutely justified! Overall, I think a meal for two people at €60-65 is still within reasonable limits. Attention: There is a set dwell time of 2.5 hours. Anyone who exceeds this will pay an additional fee. I don't remember how much, but I think it was ok. You just have to know it, but it's pointed out everywhere. All in all: Absolute recommendation!

I’ve been in this restaurant many times. The buffet selection is phenomenal, lots to choose especially fresh seafish and meats. They also have lots of seats and different sizes of tables depends on how many person siting together. The price is reasonable as it seems and honesty since these people who reviewed disliked cuz the specific day of the week depends which day the price is high and low. You should better read the day to able to pay 16€ on time. So I say the service was very good, clean and smooth as here is no dirtiness. Huge restaurant and beautiful architecture. I recommend you go with your family or partner. 👍

A large restaurant, their buffet and "all you can eat" speaks for the fact that there is a huge variety of food to choose from! From various starters (antipasti, salads, spring rolls), main menu (meat, fish, seafood) and dessert (ice cream, various fruits, cakes). You can also order a' la cart and have something fresh grilled. The prices differ from the lunch and dinner buffet, but the food is still affordable, very tasty, and the service is friendly and fast.
