The buffet food was of canteen quality. The atmosphere was like a train station waiting room, and it was expensive to boot...never again!

The buffet was constantly being replenished; I didn't see any empty food containers. However, the taste could be improved. All the tables were occupied, resulting in a very high noise level. Empty plates were sometimes piled up on the table, and sometimes plates were taken away even when you still had the last bite on your fork. The service wasn't particularly considerate of guests moving around; there were several instances of people bumping into each other. All in all: you can go there, but you're not missing anything if you don't.

We were there on a Saturday at the end of November 2025. It was poorly organized. People from different directions converged on the rice counter. There was a long wait at the buffet. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, as the restaurant was completely full. The tables were very close together, so you constantly bumped into other diners at the next table. The food tasted like anything you'd find at a Mongolian restaurant. Nothing special on offer. A tip for parking: you have to enter your license plate number at the restaurant, then you can park for free for four hours. It would have been helpful to know this beforehand. We will try other restaurants next time.

The food is really delicious and the menu is very extensive. Unfortunately, the unlimited drinks and the refrigerators make it feel a bit like a fast-food restaurant. This makes it feel uncomfortable, hence the one-star deduction.

The menu offers a lunch menu apart from the buffet. Only on Saturdays. We were seated at a table and wanted to order four dishes. We were denied this with the words "buffet only, lunch menu is for takeout only." The menu also says "Takeout too." Also, meaning eat-in is also possible. We didn't want the buffet. So we left.

The buffet includes drinks, and there's a good selection of food. Service is very friendly and quick.

One could say: This was the worst sushi I've ever encountered. The service remains difficult to assess—the buffet principle keeps interaction to a minimum. While I received a friendly welcome at reception, communication was difficult due to a very strong accent. The ambiance is disappointingly bland for a Chinese restaurant. The huge, hall-like dining room is more reminiscent of a cafeteria than a restaurant, and the small buffet seems even more lost in this setting. Furthermore, you're seated so prominently that you inevitably feel like you're part of a silent observation. There's hardly any comfort factor. All in all: If you look solely at the value for money of the drinks, you could give "China City" a favorable 3-. However, I'm not enthusiastic about the buffet itself, and a second visit is out of the question for me personally. I would only recommend this restaurant to people who approach a meal with very simple expectations – however, anyone who values ​​quality, selection, and atmosphere will be disappointed. Finally, I would like to emphasize: I'm not writing these lines as a disappointed or angry guest, but as an amateur food tester who loves visiting restaurants, appreciating good food, and formulating honest reviews. I pay attention to details because I am convinced that we live to eat in good company, to feel comfortable for an evening, and to reflect a little bit of appreciation for ourselves in the enjoyment and atmosphere.

The food was actually OK, but I had the feeling they only had what everyone else had, nothing special. The front-of-house cooking was a complete mess; I suddenly had mussels on my plate. My wife suddenly had peanut sauce (she's allergic to peanuts), luckily she noticed. The service was poor, and the person at the cash register said they were sitting behind the counter. The ambiance is about 20 years old and hasn't been updated. The children's corner is completely worn out.

We wanted to spend a nice Friday evening there with friends, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. By 7:45 p.m., the buffet was already completely empty. Nothing was really replenished, and what was there simply tasted really "old." At 9:30 p.m., the staff started clearing the buffet, which, as a guest, you really find a disgrace when they advertise the buffet as being open until 10 p.m. We've been there a few times before, but this was our last time... We're only giving it two stars, for the sake of old times. There have been times in the past when things weren't top-notch, but not to the extent that they are today. Change of ownership? We don't know... What a shame.

China City in Unna offers an all-you-can-eat buffet with integrated Mongolian cooking and a concept we hadn't seen before: drinks are included in the price and can be self-served from large refrigerators near the entrance. This has the advantage of allowing you to start right away without waiting – however, it does lack the personal contact with the service, which would be particularly helpful for newcomers (a matter of taste). The food selection is extensive, and the quality is in line with what you would expect in this industry. The Mongolian cooking isn't significantly different from similar Asian buffets, but it does offer a nice change of pace. Plus points: a play area for children and clean, spacious restrooms. We had little contact with the staff, apart from clearing the tables. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere and an interesting concept for a relaxed all-you-can-eat evening.

Great place! We've been back with the family for several times. The service is excellent. And the grill – simply brilliant! No waiting – you just put the food on it, and it's brought to you. Super convenient! Everything is grilled to perfection, and there are a variety of sauces – especially delicious with seafood!

Typical all-you-can-eat restaurant, you just have to like it. Personally, I don't think much of it. Unfortunately, I had a pretty bad stomach ache after the meal, but otherwise, the price is fair. Normally, most of the money comes from drinks, but here, a non-alcoholic all-you-can-eat drink is included in the price, so I think the price is pretty reasonable. The location used to be a supermarket, so it had more of an indoor atmosphere, but they made the best of it.

Actually, this restaurant is my favorite at the moment and we go there regularly. The staff and owners are super nice and I thought the food was great so far... however, I recently had a really traumatic experience... I arrived hungry at the afternoon buffet at 5 p.m. and was really looking forward to the meal. As I put my plate together and started to enjoy the food, a “sour and fermented” smell hit my nose. I was shocked because I could definitely smell it...after I thought about what I was going to do for a moment...I bravely decided to try a bit of everything to determine which food was “the culprit”. I quickly suspected that it could be the rocket tuna salad. That's why I didn't touch them and ate the rest of the food carefully. They had absolutely no bad taste and were edible. Despite this, I didn't want to let it ruin my evening and I was in a very good mood. Since I really value the owners as people, I didn't report this incident. After dinner, I wanted to end the evening with my husband at home watching a selected film. About 2 hours after eating I suddenly had severe nausea and dizziness. So I had to take anti-nausea medication. Unfortunately, this was followed by acute diarrhea that same night and the following day. It was not easy for me to share this experience here because, as mentioned before, I really appreciate the hospitable nature of the staff. In retrospect, however, I thought that the restaurant might have become more aware of this in the future thanks to my contribution and that this would not happen to other guests.

The four of us ate a buffet. Two adults and two children. Drinks flat rate was included in the buffet price. Food really top, very fresh and tasty. Service top. Despite it being very full. Today we ate at China City in Unna for the first time. We reserved a table in advance… Our table wasn't available when we arrived. So we waited a moment until we were shown a table. After a short while we were told to sit down at a table that had just become free. The used dirty plates with leftover food were still on the table. It took some time for the table to be cleared and cleaned. The main thing is that we've already sat on it. After a very long wait, the prepared food finally came from the grill. The food was completely burnt and inedible. We gave it another chance. Unfortunately, the second round from the grill was also very burnt. Simply inedible. When filling up the order you were regularly pushed aside by the staff. A dog in the restaurant diligently eating leftover food from the floor... All you can eat and drink A lot of the drinks that were offered for self-service in the refrigerators were obviously from Lidl, Aldi and Netto. We didn't like it and we certainly won't be coming back

An absolute tip for all lovers of Chinese cuisine! At China City you can expect not only a large selection of delicious dishes, but also a cozy atmosphere and extremely friendly service. The dishes are fresh, authentic and excellently seasoned. The buffet offers a great variety so that everyone gets their money's worth. Price-performance ratio corresponds to the very good quality, especially since drinks are also included in the price for the buffet. The staff also ensures that you feel completely comfortable. Very disappointing! Everything was ribboned up to black! When we asked to prepare a new plate, we were insulted. I wanted to call the police. And write a complaint because of insults and that they don't want to give us what belongs in the 30 EU price list. Afterwards we were told to leave this strange shop without paying anything. Phew, even compared to all the restaurants I know in the Pott, that's a steep price considering the service provided. All you can eat means everything I can eat...of everything. I asked three different employees about the sushi with squid. Three times they pretended not to understand me or denied that the food was there. Only when we left was the food we requested served again. Unfortunately too late. I won't let myself be taken as stupid. The selection is ridiculous in direct comparison to almost every other restaurant I know of this type. And the fried stuff (see photo)...you can easily see it: it's burnt even darker. Only the juicy duck gets a plus point. Otherwise, quality was saved on everything: the spring rolls were just fat dumplings filled with a bit of cabbage and the Peking goulash soup had no goulash, haha. But collect 33 euros. Never again.

The drinks buffet, which you could help yourself to freely, should be highlighted positively. The selection was large and we really liked the concept. A disappointing children's area We are a family with a small child and were particularly pleased that the restaurant had its own play area for children - at least that was what the host told us. Unfortunately, this area was a bitter disappointment. The room was visually overwhelming: the entire floor and walls had a colorful street carpet pattern, which made the room feel busy and uninviting. While the furnishings were functional (a bench to sit on, cushions on the wall and in front of the heater to avoid injuries), the biggest disappointment was the toys - or rather the condition of them. After a long search, I discovered toys that had been carelessly stuffed under the radiator. In addition to a few clamping blocks, wooden rails, a train, a boat and a small fire engine, I also found rubbish: leftover packaging, food crumbs from the buffet and broken toys such as tattered books and broken components. The condition was unsanitary and completely unsuitable for small children who often put toys in their mouths. I was shocked and disgusted. Although our daughter used the room to run around and play with other children, the thought of how careless and unkempt this area was stayed with me for the rest of the stay. Conclusion The condition of the children's area was an imposition and a reason for me not to visit this restaurant again. Such a carelessly designed area also raises questions for me about the general hygiene and cleanliness of the rest of the restaurant. It's a shame, because with a little more care the children's area could have been a real asset.

The plates should definitely be preheated so that you don't have to eat the food completely cold. You often find opened bottles in the drinks refrigerators and therefore...poor hygiene. All tables in the restaurant are monitored with video cameras.

We were there with a child. Delicious. I'd love to come back. Vegetarians also get their money's worth. My suggestion: No self-service for children under 9 years old. And please take out those foam kisses. Then prefer small pieces of baklava or small fruit yoghurt as an alternative.

Hi It was very bad unfortunately. You have 2 hours but you have to wait 30 minutes for a plate. The food was burnt and one person even got the wrong plate. We were literally thrown out after spending time with empty stomachs. Not recommended.

The food was really top. I ate very, very well. On our day the chef must have been a little amorous because my grilled food was a little saltier, but I'm a salt lover anyway. It's hard to rate the service because it's mostly self-service. Since it was all inclusive with drinks, if your food was brought to you from the grill it was very friendly. However, I have one wish for improvement. Since there are people who don't close doors behind themselves, it might make sense to equip the doors with a door closer that keeps the door open briefly but then closes it. Up in the corner with such an angle, because it's uncomfortable if you as a woman want to go to the potty and then look to the right and first have to watch the men at the pee basin through the open door of the men's toilet.
