the worst restaurant we have ever been to. Unhygienic, inedible and much more. The meat was in the same fridge as the dessert. There was hair in the soup and the mushrooms no longer looked the way they were supposed to. In addition, the broth had no spices whatsoever. It tasted like you were mixing water with food coloring

It was my first time eating hot pot and I was thrilled. The selection of dishes is very varied. There was also a wide selection of seafood. The service was very nice and gave us good advice.

The China Bros. offer authentic Chinese cuisine (hot pot) which many native speakers also visit. Except for the somewhat cramped seating and the simple tables, this is a truly unique Chinese restaurant in the German gastronomic desert. The price is also great for the variety on offer. I would love to come back from Bochum.

Delicious, fresh and inexpensive! The hot pot at China Bros offers a huge selection of ingredients and delicious broths, so everyone will be full and happy. Great value for money and friendly service. If you don't feast here, it's your own fault!

I recently visited this restaurant which reminded me of my experiences in Asia and absolutely loved it. Preparing your own food in the delicious broths is great fun and the all-you-can-eat concept is a clear advantage. What's particularly pleasing is that drinks and desserts are included in the price. A reservation in advance is recommended as the service is extremely friendly and helpful. However, it can sometimes get a bit crowded, crowded and noisy, which can lead to a slightly chaotic impression. Nevertheless, there are always enough ingredients available. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The fact that I've forgotten how many times I've eaten there probably means that I enjoy going there again and again. It's fun to prepare your food in the broths and it's all-you-can -eat concept is a big advantage. Drinks and dessert are also included, meaning you leave there full and happy. Booking in advance helps. Very nice service, but the facility is a bit outdated. That's the only thing I'm critical of.

Still our favorite shop for years. The selection and quality of the ingredients are simply great. The sauce buffet is huge and allows for authentic mixtures, like at Haidilao. The price for all you can eat with drinks is also just fair. The broths are delicious and freely selectable. The best address for hotpot in NRW!

Great place, amazing food I recommend it to everyone

Very cool experience, never had HotPot before but I will definitely do it again! When it came to service, communication was sometimes difficult because most of the employees spoke broken German, but that's completely ok, I just had to say some things twice. The selection is huge but unfortunately the price is a bit higher.

Es war wirklich schlecht. Ich kanns nicht anders sagen. Von der Qualität bis zum Geschmack. Die Brühen haben nach nichts geschmeckt, die scharfe Brühe war lediglich scharf. Die warme Theke war fettig und auch nicht wirklich gut. Stressige Atmosphäre im Laden. Wir sind nichtmal bis zum Nachtisch gekommen. Leider ein absoluter Flop!

We and our men's group were looking for something new and fun to eat and found at China Bros. The food was very good. At the beginning you could choose the HotPot soups and the level of spiciness. In addition to the normal HotPot enjoyment, there were also a few dishes that you could eat without the HotPot. Everything was very tasty if you know Asian cuisine. The ice cream topped the good food at the end. It wasn't artificial but very fruity and just really good. We were there with 9 men and the place was packed around 6 p.m. There were also a lot of local Asians there, which again reflects the good quality and taste. There was also pig's brain, which was of course eaten as a test of courage. :-) The toilets were very clean. Overall conclusion: Very good little place to eat with friends and experience something new. Price performance was also right. But definitely reserve!!!

The restaurant had a large selection for the hotpot, and the drinks were also delicious. One thing that bothered us was that the broths barely had any flavor. We thought that was a shame and had to use sauces and spices to improve the taste.

I visited “China Bros” Restaurant and am very satisfied with the experience. For €29.90 you get an all-inclusive offer that is really worth it. The quality of the food is very good and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The ambience conveys an authentic feel of China, which further enhances the experience. The regulation during peak hours is particularly worth mentioning. You will be asked if two hours are enough, which is usually not a problem. If you want to stay longer, we recommend that you announce this when making your reservation. The restaurant is often very busy on weekends, so you should plan accordingly. A little note: Using the hot pot at the table makes it quite warm in the restaurant, especially in front of you.

We've walked past there many times and it was always extremely well attended. Today we went there spontaneously. It was extremely full and there was only one table for two people left. It's best to make a reservation. When we said we had never been there before, everything was explained to us very well. At first we thought we would go back or pull through. No, the staff was nice, the idea was great, we stayed. You first choose two types of broth and then you can get drinks and eat them straight away at the buffet and choose something for the broth. There is a decent selection of vegetables. Meat and fish could have been more. But still it was super tasty. You throw in the vegetables, meat, fish and after 3-5 minutes it's ready. You have 2 hours. There is also very tasty ice cream. The restaurant itself could use a coat of paint. But everyone was very nice, great service, clean, tidy, meat, fish and vegetables permanently cooled. Simply perfect. At first I thought how am I supposed to get enough here. But you're really full afterwards. It wasn't the last time we were there.

We were guests several times with a group of three people. A reservation was not necessary, there are always enough tables available. The experience starts authentically - the owners of the restaurant sit at one of the tables with a few iPads, chat and assign seats from there. There you can choose from a range of broths. Most contain meat or fish, but there are also vegetarian options. Not that it would make a difference - all the broths we tried were very thin and tasted unpleasant to metallic. If the level in the broth container dropped, the taste experience was extended with hot water directly from the kettle. As soon as you have gotten rid of the selection of broths, you can choose freely from a selection of knockoff lemonades. They taste watered down and stale to match the broth. Afterwards you were able to help yourself to the selection from the buffet, which can be described as “quantitatively rich”. However, the quantity could be completely offset thanks to the poor quality of the food. None of the options offered were high quality or fresh. The various tofu products tasted old, musty and stale, as they came from a dry pack. The chicken legs had little meat on them and were slimy. However, the houseflies were less bothered by it than we were. The only bright spot were the warm steamed buns and the ice cream, which you can scrape from the Selgros packs in the freezer. The concept is that the quality of the ingredients described above is then dumped into the underseasoned and questionably tasting broth. The resulting taste is apparent to the interested reader. On both visits we felt nauseous before we were full. This meal is definitely not worth the €30 per person cost. For €60, two people can be much happier somewhere else in Essen or Düsseldorf.

The restaurant is made by Chinese for Chinese and everyone who wants to have a part in a really authentic hotpot - not a fancy restaurant but a really authentic ambience for the food, the service and the price - the best hotpot in the Ruhr area by far.

Ich bin regelmäßig bei China Bros in Essen und war auch gestern wieder dort. Es gibt verschiedene Brühen zur Auswahl, und man kann sich für eine einzelne oder gleich zwei Brühen entscheiden. Die Hotpot-Theke ist beeindruckend groß, mit einer Vielzahl an Fleischsorten, Fisch (wie Oktopus und Garnelen) und frischem Gemüse. Dazu gibt es eine fertige Warmtheke, wo man Leckereien wie gebratene Nudeln und Frühlingsrollen findet. Das Beste daran: Das Buffet und der Hotpot sind all you can eat and drink. Ein weiteres Highlight ist der aufmerksame Service. Die Kellner sind sehr freundlich und sorgen stets dafür, dass leere Teller schnell abgeräumt werden und alles sauber bleibt. Ein kleiner Minuspunkt ist jedoch die Belüftung. Es ist oft sehr warm und schwül im Restaurant, was das Erlebnis etwas beeinträchtigen kann. Trotzdem bin ich insgesamt immer sehr zufrieden und kann China Bros jedem empfehlen, der leckeres Essen und freundlichen Service schätzt.

I eat here so often with my family and we like it every time. Super delicious food at a very fair price, free drinks and a large selection of different dishes for only €30! You can't go wrong in terms of taste since you put the food together yourself.

My overall experience at China Bros. was good. The buffet has a large selection of authentic dishes, drinks are included in the price of the buffet and the staff regularly checks in and refills the broth for the hotpot if necessary. Overall, a restaurant that I would definitely recommend!

The restaurant is located on the edge of the city center and is easy to reach. The ambience is a bit old-fashioned, but spacious. The staff was very friendly and took the time to explain the system to us. It was definitely a very authentic meal, with a wide variety of broths and foods to cook with. Each table can choose two different broths and have them re-sharpened if necessary. In addition to the raw ingredients that were cooked in the broth, there was also a small, ready-made selection of typical dishes. These were rather mediocre in taste. The all-you-can-eat price also included an all-you-can-drink flat rate. The selection tends to be meat and seafood-heavy, but vegetarians will also get their money's worth. There was a good selection of vegetables. Unfortunately, I'm not sure whether there is also a vegetarian broth. I just wish each component had its own set of pliers so that certain products wouldn't be crossed with each other. This type of food didn't suit my personal taste, although the broths were really flavorful.

I have been to quite a few hotpots now and i must say this is the best hotpot in nrw. The staff is incredibly friendly and thoughtful and the concept is truly outstanding! The price is currently 29.50€ per person but you can get as many things as you want including drinks. Very worth it!

Hot Pot All You Can Eat with a large selection of ingredients, delicious broths, lots of sauces. There are also a few ready-made dishes that were very tasty but unfortunately only lukewarm, various steamed buns, ice cream and fruit, as well as drinks from the dispenser or the refrigerator. The atmosphere is, well, a bit old-fashioned and cramped, but the food was good, the staff attentive, and the price was still okay.

It was our first time eating there with the family, but we chose a menu from the menu first and next time we'll try the hotpot. Everything tasted fantastic and the service and staff are really good. I can only recommend it and I'm already looking forward to the next time

Great HotPot restaurant with a large selection of ingredients and also a small warm buffet for fried noodles, spring rolls, etc. You can choose 2 soups and have a station to put together your own dip. Drinks are included and are tapped yourself. The restaurant is clean, the toilets appear to have been recently renovated. These are accessible via a staircase in the basement. We have €29.50 per person on a Saturday. paid and that is totally justified. Reservations must be made by telephone and are recommended.

Snack bar level, rice tasted like old fat, duck was nice and crispy but the meat was disgusting and the pineapple was fermented in the sauce 🤢

Unlimited refills were true The frozen beef I brought with me smelled like lamb after it was cooked, so I thought I had brought it by mistake and checked again, but all the meat was full of lamb aroma. I just wanted to check (I wanted to cook only the seafood if it ran out), so I didn't see if the beef had run out. I asked if the meat was beef, but I was told that it was definitely beef, so eat it. I trusted the answer and brought back all the meats and cooked them one by one, but it was only lamb. It would be good for customers who are unable to distinguish between beef and lamb. For safety reasons, it is recommended that you avoid visiting if you have an adverse reaction to lamb. One star for service thanks to the female owner(?) Park Park Woo-gi-si. One star because the food included lies. The atmosphere is one star because the kids are running around and playing too much. ah! Should I give the service 5 stars? They were friendly when paying! Very disappointing for the price of 25-30 euros

Fresh ingredients, lots of choice. Authentic. Lots of Chinese guests so it must be good!! Family friendly service.

I had very high expectations, but I was deeply disappointed! The service wasn't very welcoming and I had to wait a long time. The ambience was quite ok. But not that great. I didn't like the hotpot. Cheap stuff is used and the broth wasn't that tasty. A pity!

too poor! Disappointed, the price is getting more expensive and the quality is getting worse! The sesame sauce is sour, the shrimps are noodles, the tripe is smelly, and some of the pickled meats are just leftovers and cannot be chewed at all. The price of 29.5 euros is really not worth it. It is better to go to Dusse to eat something good.

Little to no vegetarian selection

I liked it a lot. Apart from the hotpot broth, you don't have to wait for your food like other hotpot restaurants. You can immediately get your own food or ingredients.

Unfortunately, the food is not intended for the German palate and a lot of it was cold (warm dishes) & very little choice! The drinks are a disgrace (tip good & cheap) iced tea and otherwise just a tap with some kind of syrup. The ramen noodles were also the cheapest of the cheapest. The toilets also seem very carelessly put together. We personally found the atmosphere of our evening terrible! We got a table in the middle and only loud conversations all around. Price performance technically a complete failure, 59 € for 2 people. At other restaurants you definitely get more for this price and drinks aren't as cheap. The service was nice, but that was the only positive thing about this restaurant. Unfortunately no recommendation from me.

For us, the worst Chinese buffet we've ever had to date. The food that was already prepared wasn't even lukewarm. When asked about this, we were completely ignored. The range for cooking yourself was quite manageable and not as fresh as expected. I was completely uncomfortable with the gas grill at the table, apart from the dirt around it. The windows on the doors in the toilets are missing. For €29.50 p.p. simply too expensive! Never again! Absolutely not recommended.

Super great buffet with a lot of choice and something for everyone. Everything is very fresh and you can create your own sauce for the hotpot from a wide range of options. I always enjoy coming back.

I think €29 for having to cook your own food is really steep. If you don't have any ambitions as a chef, you will have problems preparing the food tasty. You really have to like it to like it, but it's absolutely not for me.

I think the service is very good, there are many things and the experience is quite good. Although notices have been posted repeatedly saying that discomfort after eating is not a fault of the ingredients, it is true that some ingredients taste stale. Tofu and fish hope they can be improved...

The selection of ingredients for the hotpot seems to change from time to time. I don't know if it has anything to do with the price increase, but a few things were missing, but a few things were new. If you're willing to experiment, you'll find plenty to choose from, as long as you eat meat. Cancer, shrimp, chicken, beef, pork in various forms. There are also offal such as brain or liver. On my first visit there was also chicken feet to choose from. Unfortunately, the labels are not always correct. In the end you have to decide a little by eye what you want to take. The staff doesn't always speak German very well, but communication still works. For vegans: The selection is limited. Vegetables, mushrooms, tofu and rice, fruit for dessert. You can do that, but you'd rather eat all-you-can-eat sushi at Noori, the selection is larger. Some of the sauces for the hotpot are probably vegan-friendly, but I haven't checked. For vegetarians: The selection is not really any larger than for vegans. There is no cheese ;) But various milk ice creams for dessert. Conclusion: nice concept to eat together and try out a lot. I like that you don't have to worry about the bill. Everyone pays €30 and nothing more is added.

Leider gibt es keine Minussterne, Bretterbudenambiente und völlig unfreundlicher Service. Wir sind ohne Bestellung zum nahegelegenen Afghanen gegangen, hier genau das Gegenteil und super lecker.

Ich fühle mich hier sehr wohl. Die Auswahl ist groß und es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Meine vietnamesische mutter liebt es hier. Das muss was heißen!

Zum ersten Mal einen Hotpot ausprobiert und sehr begeistert. Der Ablauf ist einfach, der Hotpot hat 2 Kammern, man wählt 2 Brühen. Schärfegrad kann ebenfalls gewählt werden. Das Buffet besteht aus einer großen Auswahl aus diversen Gemüse, Pilzsorten, Fleischsorten und Einlagen die man sich frei zusammen stellt und in der jeweiligen Brühe gart. Es stehen auch verschiedene Basissaucen und Toppings wie Sesam oder Knoblauch zur Verfügung, in die man seine zubereiteten Zutaten dippen kann. Hier kann jeder das für sich passende Geschmackserlebnis kreieren. Die Atmosphäre ist freundlich und angenehm, wir haben zu viert gut gegessen und uns gut unterhalten.

Das erste mal das ich so was gegessen habe, es hat mir echt geschmeckt. Da ich eh Asiatische Küche Liebe. Meinem Partner hat es nicht so gut gefallen, weil er selbst die Sachen zubereiten mußte. Kommen trotzdem wieder.

Top Hotpot location! Auch wenn der Name etwas anderes vermuten lässt, ist das Lokal sehr traditionell und nicht europäisiert (wie ich zuerst dachte). All you can eat inklusive Getränke. Preis Leistung stimmt 100%.

War heute am 16.06.2021 essen. Man musste sich nur per App registrieren und schon gings los. Das Essen war perfekt. Und der Hammer war, draussen 35 Grad, drinnen wegen Klima so 20 Grad. Besser gehts nicht. Danke. NEU: Stand am 24.08.2022 um 15 Uhr vor einem verschlossenem Laden. War einfach zu. Das stand aber nirgendwo. Bin verhungert.......Heute am 13.11.2023 nochmal da gewesen und sofort 5 Sterne vergeben. War alles perfekt. Toll.

Ich war so gespannt und neugierig, aber es war nichts für mich. Trotzdem ein Highlight an authentischer asiatischer Küche, der Laden war voll mit zufriedenen Gesichtern.

Genial das es so ein Restaurant in Deutschland gibt. Hotpot gibt es sonst wohl so nur selten hier im Pott ^^ (Auch wenn manche nicht ausprobier freudige wohl etwas schlucken müssen am Anfang. ^^)

Tại sao lại như vậy , trong khi tôi đứng xếp hàng trước. Sau đó tôi vẫn đi xuống cuối hàng, rồi có vài người đứng sau tôi. Nhưng khi đến lượt tôi thì cô ấy vẫn lặp lại hành động vừa rồi , và mọi người thanh toán xong thì tôi mới được thanh toán. Tôi không hài lòng với dịch vụ của China Bros. Hay vì tôi là người châu á nên các bạn ưu tiên người Châu Âu hơn? Tôi cũng là khách hàng của các bạn mà. Tôi CẢM THẤY mình bị PHÂN BIỆT CHỦNG TỘC .

Sehr gutes Preis / Leistungsverhältnis mit großer Auswahl. Die Zutaten können am Buffet geholt werden so dass man auch viele Dinge erst einmal ausprobieren könnte falls man noch nicht oft Hot Pot gegessen hat.
