I was there yesterday for the first and last time in my life. The location is excellent, right in the center but otherwise, it is to be forgotten. I took a lemonade so sweet that if it didn't cost around 5 euros I would have left it there. The food was not good, starting from the presentation to the taste. There are much better restaurants nearby

The food itself is okay, but everything else is naughty. I bought a curry for 12.90, it came with a tiny bowl of rice. I then had to pay another 1.90 for the second helping. And that for lunch. I think it's outrageous, in every other restaurant you just get a reasonable amount of rice and, if you wish, a free second helping. The bowl of rice costs a few cents to produce...

Food was quite good, service did a decent job considering the crowds (in English and German). The ambience is not designed for long, comfortable stays, but the concept explicitly stands for "street food", so it's completely sufficient.

It's really uncomfortable to sit on plastic stools. The staff isn't exactly nice either. Wants an extra euro for every little thing. And that with the already high prices for “street food”. Sauces all with flavor enhancers from the Asian supermarket. Way too expensive for what it is.

We come here again and again, the food is really, really good, super freshly prepared and has never disappointed us. We usually each have a main course and then share a dessert. Delicious. Ok, it's really the simplest ambience. But I understand Chi Thu as a street food place and that's okay.

Simple fresh cheap Vietnamese food

Unfortunately, quality has deteriorated significantly. We received stale bread for the banh mi, but unfortunately ordered 4 times to take away. We only noticed it when we got home.

The food is great! I have already tried many dishes. Unfortunately, I have repeatedly noticed that the young man at the checkout acts passive aggressively towards customers - during my stay he managed to visibly annoy 2 other customers. The cashier doesn't like it when you can't name the numbers straight away, and he also doesn't like to help you if you want to locate another customer's dish on the menu. It wasn't like there was a rush behind me, which I would understand. Despite the mechanical operation, I will come back because of the good food and will no longer expect friendly service. Addendum: Today another young man served me extremely nicely and professionally. Everything done right. I am positively surprised!

I just ordered 2x soup €3.90 to take away - the cups are only half full ;( also dish number 71 to take away has a lot less content than before!

Asian style restaurant in Münchner Freiheit with a great atmosphere and a diverse menu. Unfortunately the quality of the food can vary between visits. I still recommend giving it a go.

The grilled pork is very very salty that is not edible. I feedback to the chef and waiter, yet they did not do anything. I have to asked for hot water to wash off the saltiness of the pork. I hope they will have a way of fixing the food when client feedback

Food has always been very good, but yesterday the fried rice as a daily special was almost inedible, the fat or oil used for frying had a very unpleasant taste. A pity!

We wanted to order the Pho, but when we pronounced “fo”, the Kasserin didn’t understand, and then we said “po”, she didn’t understand either🥲. I've been here a few times and today... I also discovered it today: there are no unfriendly people (it's not for nothing that the term is used: Vietnamese street food and its treatment of customers is equivalent)! The tone the old man speaks to me is very ROUGH and GROSS! Never again!

I go here regularly & the food is always just as good. The dishes are very fresh, easy to digest and always taste very tasty. All dishes are initially mild - if you want more spiciness there are extra sauces for that. Particularly recommended are the rice noodle bowls with tofu or spring rolls, the rice bowl with tofu or the bao bun with tofu.

Unfortunately I am disappointed with the delivery service. I placed an order over an hour in advance. 10 minutes after placing the order, I called and asked if they could make a dish without onions. Then it said “you can’t change anything, the order is already ready”. When I asked why the food was ready almost an hour earlier and it only got cold, the answer was always the same. “You can’t change anything, the food is already ready.” Very incompetent and not very customer friendly. So I won't be ordering there anymore. However, I haven't had any bad experiences on site.

Impossible! I've eaten here quite often. I'm currently 7 months pregnant and really needed to go to the toilet. After I asked the employee if I could use the toilet for a moment, he charged me €1 for using it. Unfortunately I didn't have a suitable euro and asked him to change the note, which he again refused. I explained the situation to him, that I was pregnant and would be willing to pay if he changed me for a short time. No chance. Sorry, but such impossible behavior is not possible at all. The toilets there aren't even particularly clean! In any case, they lost me as a customer with such disrespectful behavior.

Food is below average. The cashier is rude. The Vietnamese coffee is very bad(very sour).

We ordered through Wolt. Xoi Ga with the extra request without onions and roasted onions! Unfortunately the order came with fried onions. My wife has an allergy to onions. We called the Leopoldstr branch. First they said there were no fried onions. Then we wanted to bring the food over and show it on site. No apology and no insight. We were told on the phone that they wouldn't exchange it if we came over. What an impudence!!! Never again.

As other reviews comment, super rude cashier! we were in a super good mood and the cashier really ruined a nice evening! Definitely not coming back. Stuff in the kitchen were super friendly. Food was average and one dish was quite salty.

The portion is larger than expected. Vegetarian friendly and plenty of choices. But the vegetarian taste is not as Vietnamese as expected. PHO is more like noodle soup. But you can try the tofu spring rolls, which taste like roast duck burritos when eaten with sauce. If you miss Asian food, you can refer to it.

Decent price-to-quantity ratio. However, the quality and taste of the food leave something to be desired. It's self-service, which often leads to a bit of chaos as people attempt to claim tables while others are still collecting their food, creating confusion. Additionally, the noise level inside can be quite high. I wouldn't particularly recommend this place unless there are no other dining options available nearby

Delicious food, especially the wings were really good!

We ordered the 52, which only says chicken meat. But unfortunately it also had pork in it. Something like this has to be advertised. People who don't eat pork for religious reasons need to know this! It's a shame, he always enjoyed going here.

They already use sour durian sauce for the sticky rice with coconut and durian. And it didn't taste good, drags down the average of chitu

Really good authentic Vietnamese food specially for the cold day. Don’t know why the Germans are leaving bad reviews only cause of the service, seems to be a cultural difference that people don’t understand. I strongly believe this is a great spot and hope people support it more!

I actually like Chi Thu. But this time the older cashier was super rude to me just because I didn’t give my order with the numbers in the menu. I failed with my order and he said something in his language to the younger guy at the backside and they laughed and made fun about me. Ridiculous!

The food is quite good, but there is still room for improvement.

For a fair price you get generous and tasty portions. However, it can be difficult to find a seat as Chi Tu is usually very busy. It's more intended for quick snacks and if you don't want to eat on plastic stools, this is unfortunately the wrong place for you. But I would definitely recommend trying it out for lunch.

I wanted to order takeout at 9:20 p.m. Unfortunately, the lady at the checkout told me that they were already cleaning and I could only have bao and dumplings. It's a shame, I live right next door and used to like to buy something there quickly. But if you “close” 40 minutes before closing time, they probably no longer need my money.

The fact it's always busy has a basic reason: the food is great! We're customers since its opening a few years ago. Alone or in groups we have always found place to seat before the food was ready. Totally recommend it!

I've only eaten the Lemongrass Tofu Banh Mi (several times). But I'm happy to come back again and again.

Great ambience. But I will not be back for two reasons: 1. The cashier was impolite to me. I am kinda shocked since I was not treated like that in other Chi Thu restaurant. 2. Spring rolls were spoiled. I can’t believe that the big restaurant in Munich overlooks the food quality. Indeed the restaurant disappointed me! Never recommend to anyone any more!

Direkt an der Münchner Freiheit, vietnamesisches Schnellrestaurant. Alle Speisen frisch zubereitet und alles geschmacklich sehr gut und preiswert

Banh mi ist wirklich nicht gut. Super trockener Teig und nicht luftig - leider nicht annähernd wie vietnamesisches Banh mi.

Essen geht so, abhängig vom Gericht, manches ganz o.k. Plastikstühle und dünnstes Alu-Besteck sind wohl der Authentizität anzurechnen... Personal trotz Sprachbarriere eigentlich recht freundlich und zuvorkommend, aber ältere Dame in offensichtlicher Verantwortungs-Position war schon zum wiederholten male sehr unfreundlich und hat ein sehr raues Auftreten ohne jeglichen Sinn für eine adäquate Kommunikation; dazu noch völlig im Ton vergriffen...Schade!

Good food, service and atmosphere

Das schlechteste Restaurant, in ganz München! Der Mitarbeiter an der Kasse ist zu hektisch und stressig ! Der Grüntee hat ein strengen Fischgeruch . Das Fleisch war alt ,und nur aufgewärmt Haben viel gezahlt für nichts und wieder nichts ! Wie ihr merkt macht mich sowas sauer .

A lovely Vietnamese restaurant at Münchner Frieheit, warm tasty food, fast self service and warm people.

Wir waren heute Abend im Chi Thu und leider sehr enttäuscht vom Service in diesem Restaurant. Es hat über 30 Minuten gedauert, bis unsere 2 Banh Mi Sandwiches zubereitet wurden. Währenddessen haben Kunden, welche bedeutend später gekommen sind, deutlich früher ihr Essen bekommen. Als wir nach ca. 20 Minuten freundlich nachgefragt haben, wann denn unsere Bestellung fertig ist, wurde uns genervt geantwortet, dass es gleich soweit sei. Insgesamt sehr schade, da das Essen sehr lecker war. Aber bei diesem Service werden wir nicht wieder kommen!

Ich bin hier oft essen und werde wirklich nie enttäuscht! Nachdem ich heute beim Warten auf meine Bestellung überhört habe, wie ein Mädel sich wohl persönlich angegriffen fühlte, da sie ungefragt das Gäste WC nutzte (als Nicht-Gast) und von den Angestellten darauf angesprochen wurde (woraufhin apropt ein Aufstand ihrerseits entstand und mit einer schlechten Bewertung gedroht wurde) wollte ich einfach mal sagen wie toll das Personal immer wieder schwierige Leute handhabt, obwohl diese oft respektlos und unverhältnismäßig aggressiv werden. Leider sieht man so Fehlverhalten vor allem gegenüber Angestellten, die kein perfektes deutsch sprechen, da diese sich oft weniger gut erklären und wehren können, dafür mein Respekt und Lob, dass ihr trotzdem die Kraft habt freundlich zu bleiben! :) Übrigens viel Auswahl an leckeren veganen Gerichten, was echt ein Traum ist!
