Very very good food, insanely good tea, very tasty desserts. Good selection of dishes and drinks, short waiting times and attentive staff. Ambience in the summer 11/10 because it is just very, very nice with the garden and the furnishings, but unfortunately a little colder than expected in the winter but not bad.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Vietnamese restaurant and tea room and I have to say I was very impressed. Even before entering the restaurant, the ambience was really nice and the courtyard was inviting. The pleasant atmosphere continued in the restaurant itself and I loved the huge selection of teas, all of which tasted fantastic. The food, served in large bowls, was also very tasty and I couldn't wait to share and enjoy with friends. The service was very friendly and attentive and everything was done quickly and efficiently. I can definitely recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back. -> Unfortunately it was just cold in the room ;( Overall I had a great experience and I think anyone looking for a great Vietnamese restaurant should give it a try. Many thanks again to the restaurant team for a wonderful time!

We want to rate fairly, so the food and ambience get a better rating. The waiters are so unfriendly, we have never experienced anything like that in Berlin! My friend was 10 minutes late when the waiter came and said to me: “Where is the second person - you only have 90 minutes to eat!!!!” In addition, our table was ignored the whole time, considering we only had 90 minutes. After we ordered our starters, we had to wait about 35 minutes for them - the whole thing was too stupid for us and we lost all our good mood. When we wanted to pay we were ignored again for 15 minutes. Such time pressure, you are not greeted and served in a friendly manner - NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Great atmosphere, nice service and fantastic food!

Super nice restaurant but the food was inedible, let alone normal service was offered. If you order Dim Sum you will get fried dough balls with little filling, the chicken with peanut sauce also fried instead of grilled. Really a disappointment and will never come back, a waste of your money.

The older Gentleman is spreading some really bad vibes and they made us pushed and stressed to eat fast and even brought the bill without asking us if we want to order something else! Very rude attitude, you feel pushed to eat fast and go! The organic glühwine was amazing though and the atmosphere is great but the older guy destroys it all

Nice restaurant with a clear menu of dishes and many tea specialties. Unfortunately, service was only ok - even unfriendly. We had made reservations with a larger group and were rudely told several times that the table was only available to us for 90 minutes, even though there was still plenty of space in the restaurant and we all still ordered. In the end, as consuming guests, we were mercifully allowed to stay seated longer, but unfortunately I found the way this was communicated in advance very unfriendly. We were not informed of this when making the reservation by telephone, as was stated several times on site. :/

We reserved a table at 12 p.m. and were in the restaurant at 11:55. An employee rudely mumbled as she walked past that they were still closed. When we asked if we could still sit inside for 5 minutes because it was quite cold outside, it was repeated again that they were still closed. We walked out again and canceled the reservation. The staff are so rude that they don't even look you in the eye when talking and you could have asked the guests in for 5 minutes. We would have also waited for the order. We will certainly not go there again and recommend it to others.

Worst service, extremely unfriendly waiters

Stunning interior and outdoor garden. Their decor will teleport you to Vietnam. They don't have an extensive menu but they prepare their food really well. I was most surprised by their selection of teas. Great place for a romantic dinner or even a team lunch.

Myself and 2 others had a great time at Chen Che! As a vegan I was happy to hear they could recreate pretty much the whole menu into vegan. All the dishes were fresh, flavoursome, and they gave generous servings of tofu in each dish which I was so happy about as some places only give a few bits. The atmosphere is stunning. Highly recommend! I will be going back! Also between 3 of us we got a drink each, starters mains and a dessert and spent 30 euros per person which I think was good value!

The food and tea were so great! Truly a Vietnamese restaurant that stands out. The service is never really talkative when it comes to Vietnamese... what do you expect??! And paying in cash is normal for me in Berlin.

Really rude staff and the noodles I got were so dried that they weren't edible. Aesthetically everything is great for Instagram posts, but service and taste are unfortunately not quite a priority apparently...

You go for the vibe not the food. A Phò should be benchmark for any Vietnamese restaurant. I would say it's ok if it wouldn't cost 17€ ! You could easily get a much better Phò in Berlin for 30% lower price. The chicken was dry and the broth was missing some punch. But if you wanna take nice pictures , that's surely the perfect place for it.

This was one of the most beautiful, atmospheric, classy, wonderful restaurants I've ever been to. The place is gorgeous, the food is amazing and the whole experience is magical. Unfortunately, I found the service quite disappointing. The waiters were rude, didn't smile or acknowledge me (despite the restaurant being deserted) and they refused very simple requests. Really a shame for such a wonderful place!

The service is friendly. The ambience is quite nice. However, at the beginning of November it was also quite cool there. This could possibly be due to the very high ceilings. The fact that you can only pay in cash there is absurd. A tea for 6.50 euros? It's not my cup of tea.

The ambience is quite nice and the food was good. The service is still okay. However: Despite reservations for 10 people, we were actually told as soon as we arrived that we could only stay for 90 minutes. Completely absurd... the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived at 4 p.m. and after 90 minutes we were all alone there. However, we saved ourselves any further discussions and after eating went to the "Sisal" around the corner, an Italian restaurant who very friendly served us with delicious cocktails and desserts even without a reservation.

A large house with seating on two floors and in the yard. The decoration and furnishings are quite original. The food and shacks tasted good. What could be improved is that the staff clears everything from the table when the guests have not yet left the table.

Very bad service. We came to have tea with friends. We were immediately told that we could only stay for 1 hour. After half an hour the waiter came regularly to escort us out. The taste of the tea was mediocre and the selection was modest for a tea house.

First of all: If you want to be greeted unfriendly, go out to eat without children and need an announcement about how long the meal can last, you should go there. We went there for dinner today with several friends (8 people) and two small children (around 2 years old). We reserved in advance via the internet. I was the first to arrive on time and asked in a friendly manner about our table/reservation. The older, unfriendly gentleman (boss?) at the door couldn't find the reservation and I was told to wait outside. No sooner said than done. Back with friends the reservation was found. Then there was a direct announcement that we only had 90 minutes to eat. During the time we were there, the children were probably too loud for the older gentleman. The shop was relatively empty and the children running around holding their hands was probably not good either. Etc. All of this even though the store was quite empty and after about an hour we were almost the last ones there. The young staff was ok. The food came quickly and was tasty. Ambience in the store is good. I won't go there again because the unfriendliness was simply unnecessary, despite the store being quite empty. It's amazing how much negativity one person can spread in such a short time.

I reserved a table for 3 at 6pm and arrived at 5:35pm. The staff told us we could only stay until 7pm but I asked if we could finish our meal by 7pm as one person was coming at 6pm. The owner came and rudely stressed only 90 minutes without any flexibility. We ordered bunbonambo and tea, the meal cost 15.50 euros and the tea cost 6.5 euros each. Unfortunately the food wasn't warm and the tea came in a large bowl and quickly got cold. The staff quickly cleared our food bowls and brought us a list of tea menus as we drank tea. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice, but we were initially dissatisfied with the poor service and didn't enjoy it. It cost 65 euros and I didn't tip. This restaurant clearly has poor customer service and was very unprofessional service.

Disappointing. The last sip has been drunk and the bill promptly appears on the table without being asked. Not a nice word. And that's just a description of the strange experiences tonight. The food is okay, but not worth the price.

The staff is very rude and weird. I arrived on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 7:20 p.m., the restaurant still had many empty tables and there were also many seats outdoors. Welcoming our group was an older man who told me frankly that the restaurant had no more seats (even though the restaurant had many empty tables, and the entire outside area had no one sitting) and that he didn't want to welcome us (no). I don't understand the reason, maybe because I don't like Vietnamese guests). What's worse is that he later told me I should go to the Vietnamese restaurant across the street to eat because that restaurant was better than the one he worked at. 🤣🤣 (I don't understand why they push customers to the competitor's restaurant) 😂😂 If you are the owner, I don't understand what the business motto is. If you are an employee, the owner should consider whether to continue hiring people like that (receiving salary but pushing customers to work, lowering the shop's umsatz) 😂😂😂

The ambience and food stand out from the usual restaurants. The teas also taste great. Worth a food trip, prices are totally reasonable and not exorbitant, so take a look and see for yourself.

Beautifully located and with a great ambience. However, the reception apparently couldn't do anything with my online reservation via the restaurant's website. That's why (or in general, it wasn't entirely clear) we only had 90 minutes, we were told. So starters and desserts were out of the question. The main street was tasty and definitely recommended, but you can also get the same quality from many other Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin, as the standard there is generally high. When it comes to drinks, I have to advise against the teas, which are completely overpriced and taste like almost nothing. The employees were generally not very friendly and wanted to leave after just 70 minutes. That's stressful and really not a good idea in a restaurant - even the most beautiful ambience is of no use. Where and how we should pay was initially contradictory. Conclusion: There could easily be one more star here if there was a little more customer orientation.

This place has been around for a long time and used to be a place I loved going to, mainly due to the nice location. However, my last experience was not very nice. We reserved for a bigger group and upon arrival were told that we only can stay 90 min. We would have appreciated knowing that when we reserved, so we could have reconsidered. After that time we were kicked out and could not even eat desert. The quality of the food was not what it used to be.

The guy at the entrance who appoints you to tables is extremely rude, his behavior was unacceptable for welcoming to the restaurant. The food is mediocre, so totally not worth it for the good ambiance.

First of all: Actually 0 stars would be appropriate. Yesterday was definitely my last visit to Chen Che. We have been here several times and have always had lovely evenings with friends. When we arrived yesterday we were... At first we pointed out in a vehemently unsympathetic manner that we (7 people) only had 90 minutes for our entire visit. Unfortunately, not just once but during EVERY single service contact, the watch was thrust under our noses in a moodiness that was unparalleled and made it impossible to feel comfortable and have a relaxed stay. It's fair enough that the restaurant is well attended, but we would have liked to have known when we made the reservation that we would just be funneled through, then we would have saved ourselves and the restaurant the visit. The fact is: just being hip and eating okay isn't enough. In my opinion, Chen Che has sealed its decline with such bottomless unfriendliness in the service. And with only cash payments in 2024, you can imagine how the revenue will bypass the tax authorities... Never again.

Really good food, but unfortunately the service was not good. The 4 week gentlemen who were waiters were difficult to get hold of, which meant a lot of waiting time. They didn't smile at any point. The low point was the payment. Here we could only pay with cash and not credit cards - in 2024 in a big city, that's too old-fashioned. Had to go to the street and find an ATM and the only one nearby had a bad exchange rate and high fees. Overall, a mixed experience at Vhém Ché

The host refused our request to sit in a more quiet space even though the room was half empty. We then politely tried to explain why (hearing disability) and he showed no empathy, interrupting us and inviting us to leave the restaurant.

We made a reservation and went to have tea and dessert, the garden and the interior are really nice and different, however after receiving our tea and dessert and finished them the "manager" came and said in a very rude tone we shouldn't come to have tea after 5pm and it's dinner only. He made us feel very uncomfortable with his rude behaviour where we even booked a table and no one advised on this "rule"... paying with cash only was also a big minus point for a fancy place like that The tea was very nice and unusual thou

I can't explain but the meat had a delicious coal-grill vibe, the glass noodle was super tasty and everything is fresh. The watermelon smoothie-like beverage is a great companion! I hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did!

We went for tea time and they told us we could only stay for 1 hour when the place was completely empty. Very unfriendly waiters, it seems that you bother them when you order. Not a single smile or help with menu options. They told us that we could only pay in cash after ordering (luckily we had it with us) The é costs €6.5 and is just an individual cup (not even a teapot). Smoothies are a better option since the flavors are original and normal size. The garden is cool and quiet but you could hear shouts from (what I assume) is a school next door. The decoration does not compensate for everything else so I do not recommend it

It's lovely there, nice food i like their teas, some of them are really special. Big portions of food which is quite cool also to bring back home when i don't finish. Only thing i dislike is that they say "we don't have tap water" and it is a lie and legally they aren't supposed to refuse to give tap water to people. Super cosy in winter - i still recommend

Good choice of tea and decent cuisine but prices too high for the quality and quantity on the plate. The service is deplorable, we have come to this restaurant several times in recent months, never welcomed, not a single smile. What a shame because the establishment is very beautiful, however the lack of respect from the employees takes away all the charm from the experience. I hope to see improvement in the future. Bonus: The dish I was served in was half broken and cracked. We were dismissed in a haughty and condescending tone because it was Saturday and one of the employees refused to serve us drinks. However it is a tea house, the very basis is to serve drinks. I strongly advise against this type of establishment, the other restaurants in the area are much better and the consumption is cheaper there.

Chén Chè is an oasis of joy and your chances of being happy are great here. This is a lovely restaurant full of beautiful design. The food is Vietnamese, but most all of the design is Chinese in Nature. As a Photographer and a lover of Asia and asian cultures, I find this place comforting to know it exists in this wonderful city. The design is clearly the strongpoint of this restaurant. If only the food matched the quality of design. Regardless, it is worth a visit and a truly enjoyable place to be in the heart of busy Berlin.

Nice place, unfortunately the service was catastrophic - no real drinks (even when asked several times), change was also not returned correctly. Unfortunately, communication is not barrier-free.

I was in this restaurant and unfortunately my visit was disappointing. The service was unfriendly and not attentive. The map dirty and tattered. The meat was tough and the food overall was nothing special, but expensive. What was particularly annoying was that despite my express request not to use coriander, it was sprinkled over the food. The nice location and the good drinks are positive. Unfortunately, that's not enough to offset the negative aspects. I probably won't come back.

Today we actually wanted to go to a pizzeria but it was closed. Then we went here and were overwhelmed! After we waited a moment, the waitress came and politely asked us what we wanted to eat. Then about 10 minutes passed and our food arrived! It looked so delicious and tasted so delicious too! Besides, I just find it a beautiful restaurant!

I was a regular customer, the garden was a gem. It's a shame that it seems like they've never done any maintenance and we don't care about hygiene. The last 2 times we have also seen mice, the last time one entered the kitchen. Never again
