Checkpoint Kebab in Berlin

A very average kebab, almost no meat, only vegetables, plus for the sauces and size

I sincerely hope the meat wasn't from Polish meat factories and was halal. I'm not entirely sure. 8 euros. Standard Berlin-style doner kebab mush with ready-made sauce. Oh well, I don't have to eat it, my own fault.

Tried their durum and it was tasty and fresh. Portions were big we couldn't finish it. The döner abiler were so friendly and kind. Highly recommended.

Checkpoint Kebab in Berlin is fantastic. The place is spotless, and that's not an understatement: they're all working there, as if you've unexpectedly stumbled into a carnival act.

This place only serves beef donner. Gdk give you chicken as well. It is more a take away place than a restaurant, although there is a restaurant next door where we seated ourself 9nly to find out it's was not part of the kebab place.

The employees' behavior was unprofessional.

Anyone in the area should definitely try a doner kebab here. The meat is perfectly seasoned and of high quality, and the sauces are also excellent. You can eat inside or, in the summer, on the terrace. The doner kebab maker works quickly, so even when it's busy, there are no long waits.

This doner kebab is okay, but not great. Also, the dürüm wrap is very sparsely filled.

Unfriendly and disgusting salespeople

The food was great. I tried the lamb kebab for the first time and it was amazing. I didn't think I'd like it because I always only get chicken. I recommend it.

I also had it in Paris and once in Berlin. 😆 But I absolutely loved it!! It was completely different from the ones in Taiwan!! When I ordered, I was curious about what their pizza was like. I hesitated for a long time before ordering more. The owner gave us a slice to try first. It was really delicious, and I was glad we ordered more. The owner even gave us more meat, which was really great. 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶

Extremely unhygienic! The man makes the kebab without gloves and with dirty hands while simultaneously taking payment. He responds to hygiene warnings with shouting and insults. There are much better and cleaner shops on the same street.

By Berlin's standards, this kebab and much short of the top. It is edible, but you will find better ones. Vegetables fresh, sauces tasty, doner meats only ground beef version. You can sit on the spot, there are quite a few tables.

Tried Check Point Kebab for the first time and it was truly amazing! The meat was juicy with just the right amount of charred flavor, perfectly balanced with fresh veggies and soft bread. The sauces added another layer of taste, making every bite satisfying without being too heavy. Definitely one of the best kebabs I’ve had – I’ll be coming back for sure!

The food was okay—solid, but nothing special. The place is a typical tourist spot, heavily geared toward mass-market catering. The quality of the produce was okay, but not outstanding.

The best kebab in Berlin! The sauces are amazing!

The employee was very unfriendly and inattentive, and even made inappropriate jokes while we were eating. The meat wasn't cooked well, the red cabbage was very sour, but the cucumbers, tomatoes, and bread were delicious. It's a shame that such an important place serves such unsatisfying food! There were no bags. I wouldn't recommend it!

This kebab is highly overrated, likely by tourists that don't know any better. The location is great so it's good ease of access and the service is very friendly for Berlin standards. However we found the kebabs to be very light on the amount of meat and quite a bit over priced, you pay for the location. Personally I would give this one a miss and go find a location a bit more off the beaten path

I don't normally leave reviews, but just had a big doner here and I can honestly say it was the best kebab I've ever had! Doner seasoning was delicious, the bread was perfect and crispy, the salad and sauce on point!

Delicious, friendly service, and plenty of room to sit—though despite the early hour, the tables were already dirty. But if you're looking for a "Berlin kebab" experience, you won't find anything more here than just good food, the kind you might as well find in Poland.

Not an exceptional kebab for us! Given the line every day, we thought the kebab must be something special. It isn't! The kebab at home is much better. The staff, though, are super friendly! 😊

Very flavorful and delicious döner

I couldn't taste the doner because of the sauce. The spicy sauce made my stomach upset after the second bite. I didn't like the doner as much as other places.

The food was really good and very tasty. You're happy to wait a reasonable amount of time for that. But when "good acquaintances/friends of the house" simply walk up to the counter from the side, past the actual queue, and place an order that is then quite obviously given priority over the other orders from customers who have been waiting longer, that's quite rude! I made this clear to the employee when it was our turn, but I had the impression that he wasn't doing it out of conviction either, but rather because he's probably instructed to give certain customers such preferential treatment. It's a real shame, because this significantly spoiled the overall impression, even if the delicious food made up for some of it.

We went there at 1 a.m. after a visit to a bar – the kebab special was fantastic, one of the best I've ever had. The seller was extremely friendly and personable. Even at that hour, it was still quite busy. The tip came from the Späti around the corner – absolutely right! Nice: There's seating in front of the shop, and the restaurant right next door is part of the restaurant. On weekends, they even offer live music. An all-round successful late-night stop – I'd love to come back!

The doner kebab and Turkish pizza weren't tasty, nor were they of acceptable quality. Perhaps I was too late, arriving just before 10 p.m.

I have to say that the kebab itself was more than very good. I cannot say that it was perfect but I believe that for that price the taste of it was on a really high level. Service quality also very neat, fast and effective. Can recommend with honest heart

Super tasty little spot for quite a good price considering in a popular area. Not touristy as I would’ve expected a lot of locals. Not much seating options a few tables. We got the combo with kebap chips and a drink for 10.90 euros pretty good price for how ginormous the kebap was. So yum!

I strongly don’t recommend this place if you are a tourist or somebody who doesn’t speak the local language The sellers are super rude and they can perfectly ignore you if they very easily dont understand what are your questions or what you want to order So definitely ignore this place and walk a bit more for kebap meals, it will be better than staying in this place

The kebab was very tasty and there was a kebab atmosphere. The prices were average for the area and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately there was only a veal skewer and no poultry.

As the tables turn, “Don’t worry about a thing” plays – and that’s exactly how it feels. Perfectly seasoned meat, fresh bread, everything on point. It doesn't get any better.

They were very rude when ordering doner kebabs. The first time they gave me the wrong order, I got scolded when I told them it was wrong. I was disgraced with my own money. The doner meat was cold and the bread was stale.

Excellent ! Incredible experience. Barely 15 minutes after our arrival in Berlin we enjoyed a delicious Döner Berliner Kebab. The kebabiers are very friendly and let us eat in the adjacent room. The simple things in life are the best 😁!

We arrived very late in Berlin and this kebab saved our lives. We asked if we could eat at the outside tables and they sent us to a filthy alley with butane canisters everywhere. I would repeat it again without hesitation. New balance.

As soon as you are not a fellow countryman, you will not be taken into account! Not friendly… just quick quick and go. Back in Berlin Dobermans were the best. Unfortunately the closest kebab to me. He simply cut off flesh from the bottom of me that hadn't been touched all day. Completely black and hard to cut, therefore very, very thick slices. I've been to you many times, it was always a normal kebab, but today it was a disaster! It was the last time...

Doner platter and kebab to take away. Good quality, everything fresh. Very tasty, even the fries, which often get soggy quickly. The kebab plate is a really big portion. The crispy flatbread was also well received. Absolutely recommended for a quick snack in between meals.

Preferably -10 stars. The visit ruined my whole day; I have rarely been so angry and sad. I won't soon forget this traumatic experience. We ordered our food after a while all the orders came except from me and my mother, when the others had already eaten our food still didn't come. We watch as people who came after us all already had their food. We asked the staff several times when our food would arrive. They said “coming soon” but after a long time there was no sign of food and I didn’t feel respected. We would have to watch everyone eat with hungry stomachs and wait 40MIN. The food was average, I don't recommend going there and I'll never set foot there again, I'd rather eat rubbish or starve than experience that again

This food indeed brought joy back into my life. Everything was perfect. The staff was super friendly and made a few jokes. The food itself was delicious. During my week trip in Germany, I haven't eaten a better kebab than this on. I'm seriously thinking about going back to Germany just for this food

Actually I haven't eat from this shop. The person refused to serve me food. I ordered from the menu. He said no food ready. At the same time 3 older people ordered and he happily took the order. I was looking at him and clearly understood that this is part of his racist mind as I am from India. This is happened on 15th Aug 2024 afternoon. I was on my 2 days trip at berlin.
