Incredibly delicious pizzas, we will definitely come back!

Two people came with a reservation/gourmet menu. We wanted mussels. Unfortunately, they were sold out. No problem, so we ordered two pizzas. My husband had seafood, and I had the one with Parma ham, arugula, and Parmesan. It's listed as BIANCA NEVE on the menu. On the menu, where I quickly chose a substitute pizza, there was only one "BIANCA NEWE"...no other "BIANCA" to be seen. So I ordered BIANCA, and that was a mistake on my part...because on the previous page (I hadn't even looked at it, as I was specifically looking for the Parma ham) there was another pizza called BIANCA. With béchamel sauce/corn :( The nice waitress (speaks almost no German) of course brought the WRONG one and went to the boss to clarify. Well, it was my fault. You eat it or NOTHING :( In addition to the unpleasant reception in the restaurant, the boss didn't even look at me and passed the table several times - no reaction at all. He couldn't give a damn. Misunderstandings can be cleared up beforehand. It seemed to me as if it was intentional. A quick inquiry from the boss (when taking the order - or at the latest afterwards) would have been welcome. There were also gourmet blocks on three neighboring tables. Is he annoyed by it? I have nothing to do with such arrogant, unfriendly people and will not go to this restaurant again.

We waited about 50 minutes for the food. The food was mediocre and lukewarm. The portions were very small. The server seemed completely unfriendly and unenthusiastic. We won't be going here again!

On August 16, 2025, two people booked a table. Each of us ordered Italian pizzas, just the way we wanted them. Very well-topped. Super-high crust, and large. The prices are also comparable to other pizzerias in the area. Many pizzas are under €10.00. A pleasant restaurant. They also have an outdoor seating area. Very friendly and attentive service. We left very satisfied. We'll be back, and we'll be back with the whole family in August.

We've known Cavalino for many years now, back then through my work colleague, who is part of the "Cavalino family." And we always enjoy coming back. Sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with our families. Now I finally want to write a review and say thank you! A restaurant will be successful if the service is good, the food is good, and the prices are in line with the quality offered. So, it makes no sense to compare apples with oranges (which often happens with such restaurant reviews in Germany). Cavalino isn't a place for doner pizza and schnitzel, nor is it a 5-star restaurant for nouveau riche snobs. The question is, what is Cavalino? Cavalino is a balanced combination of a classic Italian restaurant and a pizzeria (many people don't know the difference anyway, so just do some research). And here we can get straight into the review: Cavalino's current pizza chef is a master. Currently, I don't know where you can get a pizza like that within a 25-kilometer radius. It's pretty close to Italy (you can't quite make it; Italy is simply Italy). But even if you order pasta or a meat dish, everything is always fresh, the meat quality is high, and the portions are generous for people with a healthy relationship with food. Attached are a few selected pictures from one of our visits to Cavalino. (There must have been hundreds since around 2015.) The service at Cavalino is usually provided by the "chef" himself, and there's nothing to complain about. If the restaurant is very busy, you might have to wait a little longer. But you don't go out to eat to fill yourself up quickly; eating out is a special luxury that requires time and the will to enjoy. No, when you go out to eat, it's part of the experience to have some time. Decency and gratitude for good food prepared by others demand it. And that's exactly what you get at Cavalino. We would describe Cavalino as rock-solid; it's a pleasure to stop by and enjoy Italian food. Even if it's "just" a pizza that truly deserves the name.

My wife's favorite Italian restaurant – and rightly so! Pizzeria Cavalinho in Neulußheim is always a treat for us. It's my wife's favorite Italian restaurant – and rightly so! The pizza is really good, as are the pasta dishes. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting – and in summer, you can sit outside in the quiet courtyard. As a Schlemmerblock participant, at least one visit per year is a must – but usually it's more. A clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates good Italian cuisine!

Oh yes, for the first time in a long time, real spaghetti bologna, almost like home ♥️👌I was really impressed. I ate it all up.

Comparatively cheap prices, good food, unfortunately it takes twice as long here as everywhere else, especially with groups of around 10 people. We only come here if we are not too hungry and can wait an hour or more.

We waited 50 minutes for our food. The food was mediocre in taste, the potatoes were served cold, and the portions were very small. Even though we complained about the cold potatoes, we were charged the full price. The server seemed completely unfriendly and listless. An espresso or something similar would have been nice as an apology. We won't be coming here again!

Great service. In the dining room itself it was a bit noisy at lunchtime due to a large company. But we still enjoyed the food. Large selection beyond pizza and pasta.

Family-run Italian restaurant. Top dog when it comes to authentic cuisine. Small review after many visits. The ambience: Very successful outdoor area with a lot of Italian flair. Works very well when the weather is nice, otherwise you go in and can choose between two areas: a slightly dusty area in the entrance area, a nicely renovated dining room with a lot of attention to detail hidden away. The staff: Real seasoned Italians, no frills. Sometimes relatives from home help, they don't speak German. It doesn't matter, they're never alone. When you order you are always understood, you don't always have to talk about sports, God and the world. The food: Hardly any room for improvement. Tried pretty much everything, even fish. With fish you can usually tell the class of the cook. Because fish can be killed twice: after being caught and in the pan. That's not the case here: if you want fish, then please do it here. Delicious. Everything else on the menu is more than you can get elsewhere: really sophisticated, real and authentic, fresh and always delicious. Conclusion: You can also go on holiday in Italy in Neulussheim.

The menu offers a wide variety of different dishes. There are also 3 different menus for the little ones. The service is very friendly. The dishes didn't take long and were delivered at the same time. Visually, each plate was very attractively presented. The pepperoni and olive starter was served with a delicious aioli sauce. Small rolls were served with this. The pizza was well topped and crispy. The noodles were also served with enough prawns and a well-seasoned sauce. All dishes were portion sizes good and tasted very tasty. Price-performance ratio is right.

Five of us spontaneously came here on a Wednesday evening and were served fairly quickly despite the restaurant being almost full. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was a dream: the salad plate (Cavallino) was really big, wonderfully garnished and fantastically coordinated. The pizzas are nice and crispy, quite thin, but with high quality toppings. The final espresso rounded off the visit perfectly, all at fair prices. Overall a great restaurant!

The quality of the food is great. Very tasty and a great selection. We always have an additional selection depending on the season etc. We are super satisfied. The staff is also very friendly. We'll be back.

I think it could have been 20 years since we found “our Italian”. We were always satisfied right from the start. We were particularly impressed by the “Tagestafel”. There are always some great seasonal dishes here. From starters to main courses to desserts, you can choose from a tasty menu. Simply great!

The 4.3 star rating is absolutely unfair. The place and the staff deserve full 5 stars. Very clean and pleasant environment, with a nice outdoor courtyard. Courteous, attentive, quick and extremely helpful owners and workers. The food, then, is of excellent quality, with first choice ingredients well cooked. The portions are generous and the price is very honest. After many disappointments, we have finally found restaurateurs in Germany who advertise Italian food, hospitality and cleanliness standards very well. We will always return. 100% recommendable

We had reserved for 6 people, after more than 2 hours the food finally came, what can I say? I've eaten better.

Good, down-to-earth Italian cuisine. Very tasty and still inexpensive.

The stars actually say it all. The three of us were there on a Sunday shortly after 6 p.m. The outside area was already fully occupied. We decided to take a seat in the dining room. We were greeted by a smiling service person. And ordered as an appetizer Antipasta from the house. Thereafter Tagiatelle salmon Tagliolini Boscatole And for me Penne Siciliana. Everything is very good. By the way, there are steps to the restaurant. The outdoor area is at ground level.

As always, the food was very tasty, the service was good... unfortunately now comes a BUT... the open garbage can that was around the corner in the garden put a huge damper on the evening in this weather. It was just uncomfortable having to sit at that table and have to put on a good face. A pity

We were here with the Schlemmerblock. Friendly service, attractive ambience and, above all, the fish platter. Absolutely delicious! We will definitely come back and would be happy to recommend.

Ich bin gelegentlich im Cavallino und präferiere hier Pizza, Salat (gemischter Salat mit tollem Dressing) und auch die Pasta. Hin und wieder hole ich auch Pizza und Salat ab (dauert auch am Wochenende max 20-30 min). All dies immer grundsolide und zufriedenstellend. Heute war ich mit einem Freund zu Besuch - Gemischter Vorspeisenteller und Pizza. Der Vorspeisenteller war sehr umfangreich und reichte uns zu zweit. Pizza mit Lachs und Spargel war gut (Teig dünn und knusprig, Belag nicht gegeizt). Inklusive Wein, Wasser und Espresso 35 € p.P. ist sehr anständig.

The service was critical, we have dinner but you can't make a phone call because the owner says you're disturbing the other customers. And on top of that, I ask for the bill and the waitress will anchor with us to challenge us.

I've been to Cavallino several times in the evening and the food - whether pizza or pasta - has always been extremely tasty, as has the espresso. However, it is usually very full, so booking in advance is recommended. And it can take longer until the food is served, you should consider that in advance. “Eat something quick” isn’t possible here...

Sehr gute Pizza . Netter Service

Waren gestern Abend zum Essen dort im Rahmen vom Schlemmerblock. Hatten Penne Arrabiata und Penne Rusticali mit Filetspitzen. Dazu einen ital. Salat. Essen war preiswert und gut, Schlemmerblock wurde korrekt abgerechnet (in anderen Restaurants auch schon anders erlebt). Bedienung war freundlich, Ambiente war sauber und ok aber nichts besonderes. Parken vor dem Haus entlang der Strasse, könnte etwas knapp werden. Werden auf jeden Fall noch mal wieder kommen, evtl. auch für eine Familienfeier anfragen.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Essen lecker, Service freundlich und die Preise sind auch in Ordnung. Hervorzuheben ist hier der Salat. Der inzwischen zu diesem Preis seinesgleichen sucht.

Wir haben vorab reserviert, was eine gute Idee war, Restaurant war zur Mittagszeit an einem Sonntag gut besetzt! Gemütlich eingerichtete Räumlichkeiten, nettes Personal und sehr leckeres Essen! Die Dauer, bis das Essen serviert wurde war absolut okay! Wollen auf jeden Fall mal wieder kommen!

Tolles Essen. Wartezeiten ab und an etwas „lange“. Chef und Personal sehr freundlich. Definitiv unser Lieblingsrestaurant.

Leider ein sehr enttäuschender besuch. Essen war geschmacklich in Ordnung aber leider kam vieles davon falsch. Nach nettem nachfragen ob wir das Essen richtig bekommen könnten wurde uns gesagt das es gleich kommt aber es kam nicht. Auch nicht nach weiterem nachfragen. Auch hatten wir das Gefühl das und die Bedienung nicht richtig verstanden hätte.

Mega leckere Steinofenpizza haben wir hier letzten Freitag Abend genossen. Spät reisten wir auf dem Campingplatz in St. Leon Roth an und der Hunger führte uns hier in dieses leckere Lokal. Wenn wir das nächste mal in der Gegend sind, kommen wir gerne wieder!

Wir fühlen uns im Cavallino wohl. Nettes Ambiente, insbesondere bei gutem Wetter draußen. Alle sind freundlich und die Pizza schmeckt uns ausgezeichnet.

Lange Wartezeit auf das Essen. Bedienung unfrendlich

Waren in einer größeren Gruppe vor Ort. Essen fand ich der eine Pizza hatte für einen Italiener eher als einfacher Durchschnitt zudem haben wir fast 45 min auf das Essen gewartet. Service war freundlich jedoch nicht aufmerksam. Sporadisch wurde nachgefragt ob jemand noch etwas möchte. Der äußere Anschein hatte mehr versprochen. Ich würde hier nicht nochmal einkehren.

Das Ambiente gleicht eher einer besser ausgestatteten Kantine, war bestimmt mal früher eine deutsche Gaststätte, man hätte sie definitiv freundlicher einrichten können. Auf mein Getränk warte ich heute noch, der Salat war ausschließlich Eisberg, 4 Scheiben Gurken und eine geviertelte Kirschtomate und das nennt sich dann ein gemischter Salat. Das Essen kam nicht wie bestellt, auf meine Anmerkung hin kam dann das Essen erneut und komplett ohne Würze. Aus Rache? Man möchte nichts unterstellen, aber wer weiß es schon? Definitiv zum letzten mal dort gewesen.

Essen gut, Preis/Leistung Okay 83€ für 3 Personen mit Essen 1 Getränk und Kaffee, man hatte schon sehr lange auf die Bedienung gewartet. Zur Verteidigung es war sehr voll. Wir waren auch ziemlich am Ende gesessen. Aber trotz allem hätte man zwischendurch mal Nachfragen können.

Immer wieder ein kleiner Urlaub. Herzlichen Dank, wir fühlen uns bei jedem Besuch rundum wohl. So schmeckt Italien💚💚💚

Wir waren heute mit Freunden dort Essen. Der Service war bei der Aufnahme schnell aber nicht sehr freundlich. Wir hatten das Filetsteak mit den Rosmarinkartoffeln. Leider war es beim ersten mal noch fast roh, dann haben wir es reklamiert und es wurde nochmals gebraten. Als das Steak das zweite mal kam, war es gut. Auch die Kartoffeln waren geschmacklich lecker sowie der kleine Vorspeisensalat. Fazit: -Essen war lecker, -Service naja, kam nicht erneut zu uns und fragte ob man noch etwas trinken möchte, obwohl die Gläser leer waren, Eigentlich kennt man es das man beim Italiener anschließend einen kleinen Limoncello,Ramazotti od.ähnliches angeboten bekommt, das fehlt hier leider!

Gegen das Essen kann ich nichts sagen, wir kamen zu 5 und jeder Teller wurde leer gegessen. Die Bedienung im allgemeinen könnte freundlicher sein Ein Lächeln tut nicht weh. Man fühlt sich nicht unbedingt willkommen. Der Ramazzotti kam zwar in Eis, war aber nicht gekühlt.

Der Inhaber ist sehr unfreundlich, daher die schlechte Bewertung. Den das Ambiente hat dadurch nicht mehr gestimmt. Essen war in Ordnung aber nicht wirklich gut. Positiv fanden wir die Vorspeise.

Da wir Freunde in Neulußheim besucht haben und auch hier übernachtet haben, haben wir am Abend ein Lokal gesucht, das uns bei bestem Wetter die Möglichkeit gibt, im Freien zu essen. Hier haben wir dann sehr gut gegessen. Nudeln, Pizza und Salat waren geschmacklich ausgezeichnet, die Portionen reichlich und der Service sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Preis-Leistung stimmt. Da kommt man beim nächsten Besuch gerne wieder.
