Aggressiver Kellner mit Sonnenbrille – Vorsicht geboten! Wir hatten leider eine äußerst enttäuschende Erfahrung in diesem Restaurant. Der Service war unprofessionell und respektlos, was besonders enttäuschend war, da wir für einen besonderen Anlass – einen Geburtstag – reserviert hatten. Trotz unserer Vorbestellung war nichts vorbereitet, und es gab keinerlei Begrüßung oder Entschuldigung für die Verzögerungen. Ein Kellner, der auffällig groß ist und ständig eine Sonnenbrille trägt, verhielt sich auf eine Art und Weise, die nicht nur unhöflich, sondern auch aggressiv war. Nachdem wir fast 20 Minuten gewartet hatten, bevor unsere Bestellung aufgenommen wurde, baten wir ihn schließlich, den Nachtisch, den wir zuvor ins Restaurant gebracht hatten, herauszubringen. Doch es dauerte beinahe 50 Minuten und mehrere Erinnerungen, bis die Torte tatsächlich serviert wurde. Da wir mit einem kleinen Kind unterwegs waren und nach Hause mussten, war die lange Wartezeit besonders belastend. Als wir schließlich unser Unbehagen über die Situation äußerten, reagierte der Kellner auf eine erschreckend aggressive Weise. Er schrie uns an, drohte uns hinauszuwerfen und kam uns beunruhigend nah. Wir fühlten uns regelrecht eingeschüchtert und hatten ernsthaft Angst, dass die Situation körperlich eskalieren könnte. Letztendlich bezahlten wir einfach die Rechnung und verließen das Restaurant so schnell wie möglich. Diese Erfahrung war für uns sehr unangenehm und traumatisierend. Ein Restaurantbesuch sollte entspannend und angenehm sein, doch hier haben wir genau das Gegenteil erlebt. Ich kann dieses Restaurant niemandem empfehlen, der Wert auf freundlichen und respektvollen Service legt.

The service was unprofessional and disrespectful, which was particularly disappointing since we had made a reservation for a special occasion - a birthday. Despite our pre-order, nothing was prepared and there was no greeting or apology for the delays. A waiter who is noticeably tall and constantly wears sunglasses behaved in a manner that was not only rude but also aggressive. After waiting for almost 20 minutes before our order was taken, we finally asked him to bring out the dessert that we had brought to the restaurant earlier. But it took almost 50 minutes and several reminders before the cake was actually served. Since we were traveling with a small child and had to go home, the long waiting time was particularly stressful. When we finally expressed our discomfort with the situation, the waiter responded in a shockingly aggressive manner. He shouted at us, threatened to throw us out and came worryingly close to us. We felt downright intimidated and were seriously afraid that the situation could escalate physically. Ultimately we just paid the bill and left the restaurant as quickly as possible. This experience was very unpleasant and traumatizing for us. A visit to a restaurant should be relaxing and enjoyable, but here we experienced exactly the opposite. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who values ​​friendly and respectful service.

There were four of us eating. You should definitely make a reservation, even though it is a huge restaurant with a huge terrace but it is busy. The ambience inside is not my thing. Personally it's too loud for me because it's all one room. But let's now come to the essential thing that defines a restaurant: the food. We had starters for two people plus a salad and another two extra starters (meze). The salad is awesome. The mezes are of the best quality. My wife had fish (sea bream). She liked it very much. I had chicken stuffed with onions which was also very tasty. Our companion, a couple, had a grill plate for two people if you don't like long, you should be careful. Otherwise it was very tasty and rich. At the end I ordered a dessert: Kanefe, which is Engels, hair with cheese and sugar. Water (rose water) wasn't my thing. Definitely worth a visit.

Food is very tasty, but service is not good

We spontaneously wanted to stop at Casalot for a drink outside on the terrace when it was 18 degrees. Even though there were people sitting outside, we were told there was no service outside so it wasn't possible. We would have been happy to have more flexibility and paid for our drinks at the bar and taken them to the terrace ourselves. Too bad.

We were lucky: when we entered, the waiter was at the entrance and quickly seated us at a table. While we were sitting, people came in several times and waited a long time to be shown through. But if you have the time to wade through this service, you will be rewarded with amazingly delicious food.

Dear Restaurant Team, The food was absolutely amazing – kudos to the chefs for their excellent work! However, the service left much to be desired. We came spontaneously to the restaurant, and despite the place being nearly empty, the waiter told us that because we didn’t have a reservation, they couldn’t accommodate us as all the tables were fully booked. To our surprise, we checked online and found plenty of available tables after 20 minutes. We made an online reservation, came back, and were then allowed to be seated. This behavior suggests that some of the waiters are unwilling to work, which could be detrimental to the business. Additionally, another waiter was shouting at clients who had a small dog, claiming it wasn’t allowed and citing German law. However, as a lawyer, I believe he was misinterpreting or misusing the law in this instance. It’s important for the restaurant to be aware that waiters are the first impression customers have, and poor service can seriously harm the reputation of the business.

Have been to Casalot several times with different groups since it opened and we have all always been very satisfied with the great and courteous service and the good cuisine. Some dishes, such as tabbouleh, were sometimes too acidic for some of us, myself included. Fatoush, the lamb dishes and the desserts are particularly good. Unfortunately, when it comes to the ambience, it depends a bit on where you sit. Unfortunately, at some tables the light is unsuitably bright and doesn't really match the atmosphere of a high-quality dinner. The prices are consistently reasonable to affordable; on average you can get away with it for around 25 euros including drinks.

Great food and very nice, modern atmosphere. It's also nice that the portions are a reasonable size. Went home full and satisfied. We'll be back!

The new location is beautiful, modern and very large. Food is super tasty, unfortunately my chicken skewers were a bit dry but all in all it was very good. Prices are a bit high, you should keep that in mind.

So many waiters but the service is slow even though we saw that there were empty plates at the table, we had to ask the waiters to please clear them away... A large bottle of water arrived without glasses and the staff had to pray for it. The food was ok but in my opinion too expensive for a mixed starter 23€ then so little, well... it doesn't have to be that way. It would also be good if the dishes said that they were spicy, but unfortunately we ordered a dish that we didn't know was spicy and then couldn't eat it. I didn't find the dessert that exciting, especially not authentic. Overall, we left €150 for 3 people but decided not to visit this restaurant again...

For starters we ordered hummus, babaganood and a fattush salad. The hummus particularly stood out because it had a generous portion of tahini. Hot, fresh bread was served and everything was wonderfully prepared, fresh and simply delicious. The main courses were also very good. We tried Musachan (chicken skewers), Mansaf Kharouf (lamb with rice), Kubbeh Labanieh (stuffed bulgur balls in yogurt-mint sauce) and Mandi Dajaj (grilled chicken with oriental rice). Every dish was a delight and perfectly prepared. I can fully recommend this restaurant - great food, great ambience and first class service! I'll definitely be back.

We stopped by from our hotel the first night in Berlin. We love Arab food and were craving a kebap dish. The vibe inside is packed, busy, delicious food, hectic, and disorganized. We had to flag someone down to get seated. The menu was one German one English. Our server pretended not to speak English and asked us what we wanted. When I pointed to something on the menu, he not so slyly took a photo of me with the flash on. I asked him “did you just take a photo of me?” He looked frazzled, tried to show me his phone for a second then proceeded to confirm our order and walked away. We were left confused and unnerved. I couldn’t tell if he thought I was a celebrity or if he wanted to see if he could see through my shirt with the flash on. Exhausted, resigned, and a little gaslit, we ate our food and never returned. I do not recommend this spot, especially not for progressive women.

One of the best Arabic food restaurants in Berlin. I highly recommend their kabsa kharoof. Which is lamb shank cooked in steam with rice. The meat is very tender and juicy and the rice is flavorful. Their mix grill platter is also good..you need to make a call to make the reservation. Price wise, it's a bit expensive but worth the experience. Highly recommended halal fine dining in Berlin

Absolutely disrespectful behavior from the staff.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! We read a lot of positive reviews and made the mistake of deciding to celebrate our birthday in this restaurant. It is simply impossible to interrogate the waiters to do anything. They asked several times to bring chopped vegetables to the child, but they never received them; they also cleared the table only upon request. But all this is nonsense compared to what happened later. We brought a cake with us, it was a surprise for our birthday girl and asked the waiter to take it out. Despite our repeated requests, they did not bring us the cake. In 30 minutes After they could not bring us the cake, and our guests began to get ready to leave, we expressed an absolutely constructive complaint to the waiter. And then the worst thing began, in order to admit my mistake and bring the cake, the waiter began to talk to us very aggressively and behave very inappropriately. An incredible dining experience - got the single person grill plate, pomegranate eggplant mazza, and the lamb + rice platter (mom’s dish). Perfect combo for 2 people to share, with enough to take home. Fall-off-the-bone lamb was marinated to perfection, with colorful rice that was cooked with cardamom and pine nuts. The garlic sauce was 10/10, and the pomegranate eggplant dish wonderfully cut the flavor of the meats. The bread was fresh and soft. Ended the meal with warm milk, a pot of coffee, and knafeh - haven’t had a Palestinian meal this good since Brooklyn. Cannot wait to come back and try more dishes here. The servers were attentive and the atmosphere was clean, aesthetic, and spacious.

Attention: Most reviews are from the OLD location. Unfortunately I never went there, it really must have been light years better. Unfortunately, the restaurant at the new location was almost entirely disappointing. The good thing first: the rooms are completely new and beautifully done. However, there are a lot of pigeons outside who unfortunately also sit directly above the guests and drop unpleasant things. It started with an unoccupied desk where you should actually wait for a seat to be assigned. Since no one came even after 5 minutes, we took the initiative ourselves. Unfortunately, when we were eating, the finished dishes were not brought to the table but we waited until the last dish was ready. Unfortunately this was done on the delivery tray, so all the food arrived at the table cold. With a waiting time of just under 1 hour... In terms of taste, it was mediocre, but there were also inedible pieces of pure fat mixed into the skewer and the whole thing at prices for which you can sometimes get star cuisine. The fact that we had to wait almost 10 minutes for the menu in a restaurant that was around 25% full unfortunately fit the bill perfectly.

Nice ambience, attentive service, food very good, but the meze packages could be divided differently. E.g. creams, vegetables, dumplings and a meat skewer with rice. So you won't be full with 6 small plates.
