Tapas restaurant with a family atmosphere in a great location, right on the lake, with very tasty tapas! You feel like you're on vacation.

The food was good. The price-performance ratio of the paella was not that good. A 24 pan for 2 people almost 50 euros.. 2 prawns, two mussels and a few small crabs and chicken fillet. We didn't get enough of it. But according to the friends, everything else about the dishes was great 👍

Very cozy place. Directly on the lake with an outdoor terrace. Tapas buffet was also delicious. Staff friendly and attentive.

Update!!! The location is of course sensational!! If you can sit outside with a view of the lake! 👌🙏 The service was actually better than before!! Very attentive and quick!! That's what the two stars are for!! But at least the buffet...is a joke!! Unfortunately, none of the countless tapas on the menu were represented at the buffet!! Of course you'll be full (from frozen goods like squid rings, mozzarella sticks...or bacon-wrapped dates) and a few dips and salads... sardines were also available... Meat was reduced to two dishes!! But tapas like tortilla, albondigas, fried peppers etc.. so THAT is what makes tapas, next to fish 🐟 etc. ..... None!!!! It's better to eat a la carte... and hope that these things fit!!!! The store has potential... really great location.... Service and quality of food is better... It's been ages since our last visit... Maybe things have gotten better now...🤔🧐

We were here on a Saturday with a reservation and sat outside in good weather (5 people). I can't judge the food myself. My order was never delivered (only a 1 in 5 error rate). My companions did not deny that their tapas were of acceptable quality, but this was not in proportion to the price. Overall, the food could be rated as below average. The service was obviously overwhelmed by the crowded house. Someone here has completely screwed up the staff planning or the appropriate staffing of the tables with regard to the staff available. The result was that we saw a waiter outside maybe every 10 minutes. It took a long time to receive the order. New drink orders were not requested. The reaction to the forgotten order when paying was very cautious. We then drove on to Orsoy and ate a kebab there to fill us up. It was good and is recommended. Unfortunately, this restaurant seriously disappointed the expectations raised by a very good rating - mainly in the service, but also in the food.

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to eat there yet. However, I did sit outside and enjoy the after-work beer. The ambience is really nice. Located directly on the lake with a view of the sunset, is there anything more beautiful?

A culinary experience in a class of its own! We had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful restaurant and loved it from start to finish. The food was simply sensational – fresh, prepared with a lot of love and an absolute highlight in terms of taste. Every course was a pleasure and you can immediately tell that there is real passion in the kitchen. The service? Simply unbeatable! We have rarely experienced a team that acts with so much attention, friendliness and warmth. You feel welcome and well looked after from the first minute. The staff is always on hand and ensures an all-round perfect atmosphere. One small point that could be improved is the children's play area. This could be kept in a little better shape, but that doesn't spoil the overall picture.

Rustic Spanish ambience with authentic dishes. A whole table of beautifully prepared tapas at fair prices. Located directly on the lake with a wonderful terrace for the summer. Best service, very friendly and accommodating. Rounded off with a tasty sangria and a malty, refreshing Estrella, it was a successful evening... We'll be back... at the latest for the terrace season. Lt. Owners generally make reservations on weekends... Lots of regular guests who appreciate the hospitality...

We ate the tastiest tapas in our area here - and the aioli is simply incredibly delicious. Despite the restaurant being full, we never had to wait long for food and drinks.

Somehow it wasn't really good. The bread, the food, it wasn't really that tasty and we thought the prices were exorbitant.

Maybe I'm a little too sensitive, but the fish was overcooked. But the rest of the food was first class and the service was phenomenally friendly. The first Spaniard that I am looking forward to going to again.

Located directly on Lake Lohheider, a nice restaurant to eat a few tapas in the summer.

We weren't always happy with the last few Spanish restaurants. At Casa Castillo our doubts were quickly dispelled. The tapas are tasty, well seasoned and were also served hot. Which is apparently not a given in some restaurants. The rabbit in garlic was particularly delicious. The homemade sangria and the lovely desserts. Small points of criticism: Even though we made reservations, no designated table was reserved. Unfortunately, the cola had hardly any carbonation and tasted stale. But that's complaining at a high level. And shouldn't be a problem. We'd love to come back.

Today I was there for the first time. Everything was perfect today: very nice location, pleasant atmosphere, very attentive, concentrated, competent, hard-working and friendly staff, very tasty food (tapas and steak), delicious wine. I like to leave my money there. We'll be back. Highly recommended.

Very nice atmosphere with an outdoor terrace facing Loheider See. The interior also looks cozy. With Cuban music and beautiful weather, there was a real holiday feeling. Very nice and attentive staff. We ordered tapas, all of which were excellent and for us the best so far outside of Spain. The restaurant is highly recommended!

Delicious food with a great ambience and good service

We came here for the first time on Thursday after I discovered the restaurant by chance and really wanted to experience a piece of home. Since opening times start at 5 p.m., I couldn't make a reservation and just tried my luck. Unfortunately, the first waiter turned us away because there was supposedly no space available, and he wasn't very talkative either. Understandable, but still disappointing. As we were about to leave, another very friendly waiter spoke to us and offered to find us a table as the reservation would arrive later. The view from the restaurant was really beautiful. The food was varied and overall tasty, if not entirely authentically Spanish – which is understandable since we are not in Spain. The papas aliñadas is the highlight of Spanish cuisine and would be nice if it were fresh. However, the Pulpo a la Gallega could still be improved; it was a bit dry and was traditionally meant to be served over boiled potatoes. The chipirones were tasty and the bread was delicious! Given the prices, perhaps a slightly better quality of food would be desirable. Despite the small flaws, we had a pleasant time and would still recommend it to others.

Great in taste. Unfortunately the tapas bowls were cold, the food was lukewarm and then very quickly cold outside. That was really a shame. But I'll give it another try and point out that the food with the bowls should come hot. It's very nice to sit outside. We weren't inside yet.

Delicious and at Tappas everyone can decide the amount themselves. If you don't want tappas, you can order delicious dishes. I had leg of lamb with sweet potato fries. There were also vegetables and a delicious sauce. The whole thing under €20 + drinks

There were ten of us there and none of us had anything negative to say. Price performance ratio is great. The tapas are great. Good selection. The aioli with the bread basket is awesome. Very nice and attentive staff. Very nicely decorated inside. Outside there is a great view of Lake Lohheide. Highly recommended

It's just great at Lohheider See and the view of it from the terrace. The operation is nice and quick - occasionally it takes a long time and doesn't run smoothly. Still 5 stars. The food tastes excellent. Unfortunately, it doesn't apply to the only salad dressing. If you eat there, be prepared for a meal rich in oil and garlic.

The restaurant is beautifully located with a terrace by the lake. The inside is also cozy and tastefully decorated. With pictures from various artists on the wall. Unfortunately the service is overwhelmed. She regularly walked past us, but even when we had nothing left we weren't spoken to. When we reported ourselves, we were told that we would come straight away. But it still took forever. So we only ordered the dessert and not the second round of tapas. The food was delicious, although the chef was very particular about the pepper. Unfortunately the aioli was also a very small portion with the bread.

Traditional company, beautifully located directly on the lake. Always a pleasure to visit for years. Very tasty food and great cocktails. Nice outdoor area with playground. Slightly higher price level, it's just a restaurant and not a snack bar.

Visiting the Castillo while passing through... the location is of course nice, right on a lake... even if the lake isn't a great excursion destination (we also went for a walk there...) The Castillo itself impresses with its cozy ambience, outside on the sun terrace, or inside, cozy half-timbered buildings. The tappas were very tasty, we tried a whole selection and will perhaps try more on the next trip. What was strikingly nice was the service staff, some of whom were very relaxed and friendly. That's how we like it in the Ruhr area.

Despite booking a few days in advance, we couldn't get a seat. Reason: the boss expected better weather and simply moved the outdoor seating reservations indoors. We've never experienced anything like this before. Simply outrageous! I seriously wonder whether they are professionals from the catering industry. We definitely won't go there a second time. Service is important, therefore deserves 0 stars. Aside from that, it was crowded, noisy and stuffy. 0 stars here too. We can't say anything about the food, hence 0 stars. - It's a shame!

Following a recommendation, I visited Casa Castillo for the first time and was very impressed by the service, the location and, above all, the tapas, bread with aioli and the almond cake with vanilla ice cream were very good. I will gladly come again. Highly Recommended!

Today we had dinner here at Casa-Castillo. The tapas were very good and there was a nice selection of mixed plates. It's very cozy. Especially on the terrace in the sunshine with a view of the lake and a great cocktail in your hand. 😉 The waitresses were all super nice and funny. We will be back definitely. Service that is in a good mood and attentive. A nice boss! A beautiful location by the lake, typical bodega inside and very good food with an absolutely harmonious price-performance ratio. I can only warmly recommend the mixed fish plate, as well as the tapas buffet on Thursdays. We are always happy to come back! Dogs are also welcome and it is very relaxing to sit on the colorful terrace and enjoy yourself for a little while.

The terrace has a beautiful view of Lake Loheidersee. The dishes (tapas) are authentic, taste good and are well presented. Prices are reasonable. I particularly enjoyed: calamari rings and prawns in alioli. A good recommendation for Spanish cuisine.

A Cuban institution on the Lower Rhine! When we visit home, we always have to stop by here. Enis and his team are simply great and we always look forward to great tapas, delicious cerveza and Cuban hospitality! Perfect!

The view outside is very beautiful. The service was ok and the food was average - nothing special. They are probably ready-made products sprinkled with a little parsley. There are restaurants that taste better.

A nice little shop where you can eat great tapas. I have been there several times now and can say that I will continue to visit the restaurant. So the food is really delicious. And you have a good selection of dishes, but it's not overloaded. The service staff is also very nice and accommodating. The only drawback is that I was there once on a weekend evening and that the staff was either understaffed and therefore overwhelmed and this resulted in long waiting times. So my tip is that if you go there on Sunday around 1 and 1:30 p.m., you'll feel like you have the place to yourself. The restaurant is also nice, but due to its size it can get a bit cramped when it's busy. Basically, if you come at a convenient time when there is little traffic, this is a really great restaurant.

In the heart of Duisburg Baerl. Very nice location with a view of Lake Loheid. A very nice beer garden to relax in in the summer. The food is really good, whether it's the tappas or the dessert, the selection is enormous. We're always happy to come back.

We had a really great evening in this restaurant. The food was very tasty, the selection of different tapas is great! Everything we ordered was fresh and very well prepared. Price performance is also right here. After ordering, the food was delivered within 25 minutes. There is a little room for improvement when it comes to service. Maybe be with the customer a little more and ask if they need something more to drink rather than ask too little. Nevertheless: all in all a highly recommended restaurant. We will come back!

Das spanische Tapas Buffet hat mich leider nicht überzeugt - günstige Sattmacher haben überwogen. Geschmacklich okay.

Sehr aufmerksamer flotter Service den ganzen Abend über. Getränke kamen innerhalb 5 Minunten. Der ältere Kellner lief mir sogar zum Parkplatz nach und brachte mir die Wintermütze, die ich vergessen hatte. Vielen herzlichen Dank dafür! Wir hatten Tappas Büffet. Schöne Auswahl, z.B Kubanische Suppe, verschiedene Fischhappen, Fleisch, Creme Katalan. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und dann mal A la care essen. Vielleicht bekommt der hintere Raum noch etwas mehr Cuba Flair? Persönliche Fotos, Stories der Menschen..

Nach langer Zeit wieder dort gewesen und glücklich darüber, dass der Laden einigermaßen gut Corona überstanden hat. Tolle Auswahl, gute Qualität, aufmerksamer Service und lebendige Atmosphäre. Ein Muss für alle Freunde der Tapasküche. Highlight im Sommer ist der Kohlenzug der vor dem Haus am Tisch vorbei fährt und für kurze Zeit den Blick auf den See versperrt und einen Moment die Gespräche unterbricht. Toller Laden !
