Café & Trattoria sabu in Prenzlau

We haven't had such friendly service in a long time. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared. Unfortunately, card payments are not accepted.

We stopped at a cute little restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic. The waitress was super friendly and simply wonderful. The food was incredibly delicious, and the portion sizes were great for the price. We'd love to come back.

We were on vacation in the area and were looking for something for coffee and cake. We stumbled upon this somewhat hidden café by chance. It's very quiet and quite small, but very cozy and attractively decorated. We enjoyed a delicious dessert and a cappuccino and felt at home with the very friendly service. I highly recommend it!

I can't say anything about the food; unfortunately, we didn't get to eat. They forgot to enter our telephone reservation, so the table was taken away. They simply left us standing outside. Perhaps they could have found another solution, but nothing happened. I found that very unfortunate.

A small restaurant in an old, beautifully restored building. A small menu, everything is freshly prepared, including vegetarian options. The non-alcoholic cocktails and espresso were also delicious. The waitress was very friendly. Upstairs in the building, there was also a small exhibition featuring, among other things, old coffee grinders. Conclusion: Highly recommended!

This place smells great, but despite saying here that they’re open until 22:00, if you turn up at 20:03 they tell you the kitchen is closed. Even if the place is 3/4ths empty and the one large table there is clearly only just starting their evening, they don’t even offer you cold antipasto, they just literally tell you to go to McDonalds! By complete luck — despite many train delays — we caught the train that gets in at 19:00, but dropping off your luggage before going to dinner is a huge error in this town. I guess you are only supposed to retire here, not go on vacation.

Uns wurde die Gaststätte von unserem Hotel empfohlen. Als wir ankamen, waren leider alle Tische besetzt. Aber kein Problem, die nette Chefin hat uns gesagt, dass die Gäste am bezahlen sind. Nach 10min konnten wir ins Restaurant. Die Speisekarte war erstmal sehr übersichtlich und an einer Kreidetafel. Wir waren ein wenig unruhig, ob wir alle was Passendes finden. Und wir haben alle was gefunden. Alle Speisen waren perfekt. Dann noch der Espresso. Der war einfach nur gut. Nicht solch ein 0/8/15 Espresso. Preisleistungsverhältnis war auch gut. Wir hatten noch kurz mit dem Koch (Chef) gesprochen. Er macht alles selber und frisch. Wir können dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen.

The dishes on the daily specials have room for improvement in terms of taste, but they're not inherently bad either. The ambiance is nice inside, but rather plain outside. Service is good.

Super friendly service and great food... There were five of us, and we all had different versions of pasta. The cheese platter as an appetizer and the welcome from the kitchen were absolutely delicious. We'd love to come back next time we're in Prenzlau. P.S.: Unfortunately, they only accept cash payments, which isn't exactly fashionable these days. (But you can get used to it.)

Absolute recommendation!!! Small menu - but great quality at a surprisingly low price and the portions are completely fine. If we're in the area, we'll definitely come back. The staff is incredibly nice and very attentive.

A small, cozy coffee shop on the edge of the old town of Prenzlau. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy. The waitress on site is nice, friendly and takes care of her guests. The menu is small, but that speaks for the quality of this restaurant. We had the pasta with the homemade basil pesto. The pasta is made by hand and the pesto is our own recipe. Everything together with the olive oil and the parmesan, a little culinary trip to Italy in Prenzlau. We can also recommend the cake. A very commendable restaurant. :)

Felt like I was in Bella Italia for a while! ;)

We come from the Lower Rhine, 700 kilometers away, and are spending the weekend here in Prenzlau with our holiday acquaintances. After a wonderful day, we wanted to end the evening briefly here at Sabu, as it was recommended to us, and treat ourselves to a drink at 9.30 p.m. The restaurant closes at 10 p.m. In a very unpleasant and unfriendly manner, we were told off by the staff, especially the boss, that the restaurant would now be closed (30 minutes before!!!!!) because there weren't enough customers and it was no longer worth it. No commitment or accommodation whatsoever. Customer orientation and friendliness looks different. It's a shame, because you definitely won't win any customers that way.

Not for people who focus on a full plate for little money. An absolute tip for all connoisseurs. Great ambience and even better food. Only to recommend.

This small bar exudes Italian charm with its charming spiral staircase and cozy atmosphere. The delicious wine, served from carafes, rounds off the experience perfectly. A place where you like to linger and spend a relaxing - perhaps even romantic - evening.

We got a nice place for 2 people at short notice. The service was great. I immediately felt welcome because I was immediately greeted by my name. Which doesn't happen that often either. The Italian white wine that was advertised to us was excellent. Our dish tasted good, but unfortunately the chicken was a bit tough. It can happen, you're not stuck inside. We spent a wonderful evening there, ate very well, everything was fresh and tasty. The small trattoria invites you to linger, but you should always make a reservation. Our service was very friendly and competent, we felt very comfortable and have already reserved for the next time.

The first but definitely not the last visit here. Small shop but fine wines, the menu is on the various boards on the wall. Unfortunately, the selection of dishes is a bit too small and doesn't change often, but the food tastes absolutely delicious. I also found the service nice and friendly. I definitely recommend eating here. Try the wines, very important!

The Sabu restaurant is simply an asset to Prenzlau. Hopefully the people of Prenzlau will also notice what a unique gastronomy there is in this city. Absolutely authentic Italian cuisine. Beautiful restaurant and the service does an excellent job. We were very comfortable with 12 men feels. Thanks to the entire team!

Wir waren heut mit Freunden im Restaurant und sind begeistert. Die Bedienung war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Es gab keine Speisekarte, die Gerichte standen auf zwei Kreidetafeln, was für Qualität spricht. Das Essen kam zügig und war der Wahnsinn. Die Nudeln waren al dente, die Garnelen super gegart und auch die Schweinemedailions waren super zart und nicht tot gebraten. Alles in allem ein super Restaurant, was man sich merken muss. Wir kommen wieder, denn das Restaurant hat sich wirklich einen Stern als Auszeichnung verdient !

Für das Geld muss man einfach mehr erwarten können. Der Antipastiteller für 14 Euro war es einfach nicht wert. Wieder musste ich zum Auto laufen und hatte glücklicherweise noch genügend Bargeld, weil keine Kartenzahlung möglich war. Peinlich.

Kleines feines Restaurant mit mediterranem Flair, frische leckere Pastagerichte, freundliche Bedienung. Besonders lecker: Tagliatelle mit Schweinefilet in Gorgonzolasoße. Sehr zu empfehlen, kommen gerne wieder!

Ein wirklich tolles Restaurant! Das Essen ist sehr sehr lecker und man merkt dass es mit viel Liebe zubereitet wird. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und immer zu Stelle wenn sie benötigt wird. Die Bilder vom alten Prenzlau sorgen zusätzlich für Unterhaltung. Einziges Manko, Kartenzahlung ist leider nicht möglich und wird vehement abgelehnt. Schade ich hätte sonst noch bestellt und die tollen Nachspeisen probiert!

Heute muss ich leider berichten, dass mit dem Essen irgendwas nicht gestimmt hat. Ich hatte die Pasta mit Garnelen und Weißweinsauce. Hinterher noch das warme Schokotörtchen. Es ist mir nicht bekommen… 🤢 Hoffentlich ist es morgen besser.

There is not a lot of great Italian food around in this part of the world, so I was so thrilled to discover this little gem. Prebooking is a must as it is a tiny little medieval building. The food was so fresh and so tangy. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and the service was great. Also good espresso!

Eine versteckte Perle von italienischem Restaurant in Prenzlau. Ein wundervoller Laden. Mit Geschmack, Ambiente und Liebe zum Detail. Wohlfühlgarantie. Diese Einrichtung, wunderbar. Ein Ausflug zu Mamma Italia. Selbst im WC. Der Antipastiteller war grandios, fürs Auge, wie geschmacklich. Ebenso die Pasta, aldente auf den Punkt. Reservierung wäre ratsam.

Weil viele Lokale unterwegs geschlossen hatten, kamen wir als Radlerspätnachmittags (17 Uhr) hier hin. Erster Schreck: Im Raum zentral eine grosse Gruppe, es sah aus wie "geschlossene Gesellschaft" . Auf unsere Frage bekamen wir nach kurzer Rücksprache einen Tisch und anschließend ein sehr leckeres Essen. Wir haben uns gut betreut gefühlt, es hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Auch das Ambiente hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Das Essen war bestenfalls ok. Was mich aber wirklich beschämt zurücklässt, sind diese peinlichen Corona-Sprüche am Eingang und dass es kein richtige Speisekarten gibt. So muss man sich immer hinter speisende Gäste stellen, um die Tafeln lesen zu können...

Preis Leistung ist ok, Bedienung super freundlich und ging auf unseren Wünsche ein. Wir waren gute 2 Stunden hier, hatten zwischendurch einen kleinen Hänger der jedoch nicht störte. Romantisches kleines Restaurant mit super Wein und perfektem Essen. Ambiente ist perfekt. Hier kann man gemütlich die ein oder andere Stunde verbringen.

Kleines gemütliches Ambiente an der Stadtmauer. Angeblicher Geheimtipp. Wir mussten es gleich testen. Kaffee war super. Kleine Karte, Gerichte werden frisch zubereitet. Wartezeit von knapp über 1h doch zu lang. Bierpreis 0,5l gezapft für 5€. Essen war okay aber nichts besonderes. Für Kind kleine Portion bestellt und dann doch eine große bekommen ohne vorher informiert zu werden. Man kann ja den Rest einpacken und mitnehmen so hieß es dann hinterher. Sehr Schade! Fazit: gemütliche Location, Essen okay, Preise passt soweit

Schönes Ambiente, gutes Essen, kleine Speisekarte, aber trotzdem findet jeder etwas für sich. Im Sommer auch durch die Außenplätze im Schatten der Stadtmauer sehr angenehm, mit leckerem Eis und Kuchen. Ein klitzekleines Manko, da das Restaurant am Sonntag und Montag geschlossen hat, können wir es nur selten nutzen. Abendessen mit Familie oder Freunden- Vorbestellung unbedingt zu empfehlen!

Sehr gute authentische italienische Küche. Kleine Karte mit hausgemachten Antipasti, Salaten und Pasta. In der Saison gibt's hier die besten frischen Muscheln. Den besten Kaffee/ Espresso der Stadt, italienisches Eis und frisch gebackene Kuchen / Torten gibt es bereits am Nachmittag. Reservierung ist für den Abend empfohlen. Toller Service
