Super nice service and the view is fantastic

Were there with the family for a celebration. The food was overpriced and the service was unfriendly. There weren't even 20 of us and the food came late even though everything had been agreed upon beforehand. and then it took a long time until everyone had their food. The children were served last. Almost everyone had eaten the dessert when the children finally got some.

Table ordered at 1:30 p.m., food was served at 2:45 p.m. Maultaschen was a finished product from Lidl or Aldi. Kässpätzle, a cheap ready-made product, were in an indefinable bechamell sauce (??). Thick, old cream rim in the milk jug. And all of this at high prices.

The staff asked if we could sit outside for ice cream as there was a wedding party inside. This was confirmed. After waiting for 10 minutes, no one from the service department was with us. My daughter politely went to ask the staff again. The lady said she was coming now. After another 5 minutes of waiting, we left the café disappointed! The only nice thing was the view!

We did the Waldcafé circular route and stopped here. We couldn't decide on a piece of cake each because they all looked so good, so we got three in total. The apple and almond cake in particular was one of the best cakes I have ever eaten! The other cakes were also great. Coffee was also very tasty. :)

We were there after 4 p.m., the food was terribly bad, schnitzels were finished products, cheese spaetzle and Maultaschen were not worthy of the region, but the prices were like in a 5 * restaurant. This restaurant is definitely not recommended.

Actually nicely done, but totally rude foreign waiters let loose on guests. The food for my child was forgotten, asked for several times... then after about 30 minutes the order finally came, but not as ordered... so I went back again. Afterwards, a disgusting-tasting bratwurst was rudely slammed onto the table. Catastrophe! No insight or self-reflection on the part of the cellar, even charging the full price for the “fraß”. Guys, that's not how it works. We will avoid this place during our stay here. Not recommended for parents with children.

Beautifully located cafe. Here you can not only get homemade cakes, but also hearty dishes. A good destination after a short hike through the forest.

Ambiance was nice, service was ok but the Swabian onion roast for just under €30 was well done and there were “two thin slices of beef rump” There were complaints about the food but no response from the kitchen The food was well prepared but I imagine something different under an onion roast.

Despite a reservation, there was a long wait, a table was reserved at 12.30 p.m. and the food was received at 2 p.m. When asked because the children were already impatient, they got their food a little earlier. First you were treated like air then two drinks were forgotten when you ordered drinks. Food was terribly bad, schnitzels were finished products as were the sauces and the cheese spaetzle. So this restaurant is definitely not recommended.

A detour from the beaten path that is definitely worth it. If you are a horse enthusiast, you will also want to take a look at the horse farm on the way.

Lecker Wurstsalat 😋diese Gaststätte, die wir immer gerne und viel besucht haben, werden wir aber ab sofort meiden, weil die aktuell für ein kleines Bier (0.25 Ltr.) 4.10 Euro berechnen (16.40 Euro/Ltr. ) 😁das ist für mich persönlich Abzocke und sollte nicht unterstützt werden 🤔

Nice location, nice furnishings, but very noisy because of the many windows. Service was good. Big portion. Had the cordon bleu stuffed with chanterelles. However, there were only 2 chanterelles in it.

We were there for coffee. The cake and coffee is good. The service can still be improved. The waiter forgets to bring food and doesn't understand some orders correctly. The view gets 5*

Delicious Maultaschen (every dish so far has been delicious), very friendly service and a beautiful view. You don't need anything more.

We celebrated our wedding in the forest café and, as on previous visits, we were thrilled. The service was very accommodating, the food was cooked to perfection and of the highest quality. Although we arrived a little later than planned and therefore stayed longer, this wasn't a problem at all. On the contrary, the team was very flexible and made us feel great at all times. What we also particularly like here is the beautiful location on the edge of the forest with a view of the Baar. Thank you, we'll be happy to come back!

Little choice and the food was beyond criticism. The Maultaschen were very dry and the filling had little taste and was hard. We had to order a sauce with it, there was only gravy. The spaetzle with gravy for children was not tasteful and was slapped on carelessly. The crowning glory, however, was the rhubarb cake. Something so dry and tasteless was almost unbelievable. We sent it back and got another piece that was marginally better. We went to this restaurant because our relatives used to be very happy. A pity! Only the ice cream and the iced coffee afterwards were OK.

You really fight your way up the mountain, I just walk and then it appears at the edge of the forest. Idyllically located and looks modern from the outside. At first contact, the service seems a bit dry, but that's more my thing - I come from the Ruhr area. The choice is not easy because everything looks tempting and here the appearance is not inferior to the taste. The cake is light, flaky and flavorful. I will come again and walk a longer distance beforehand to whet my appetite for a main meal. That made me look better and the guests seemed happy. I look forward to the next visit. In fact, once I got used to the mentality, it was almost cordial, thank you.

The price-performance ratio has deteriorated drastically over the past two years! There used to be a small salad with the schnitzel, but today you have to order it separately for €3.50. And charging €17.60 for a schnitzel with fries is really audacious. It's the same with all dishes. The opening times are also modest, which may be due to the lack of staff. So not recommended!

I stopped there for coffee and cake. The cake was delicious. The service staff were completely overwhelmed. An absolute plus is the mega foresight, as the forest café is located on a hill.

Beautifully located with a great terrace and beautiful view. When it comes to food, however, the price and performance are not right: some small portions, no bread with the salad, the dry and sometimes rock-hard cheese pätzle were definitely not worth €18.40. A pity!

The forest café not only offers an idyllic view of the surrounding nature, but also impresses with an outstanding rhubarb cake. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the forest.

Very nice place! Great terrace! The food was unfortunately mediocre, the price/performance ratio was very modest. A medium-sized "shepherd's salad" with lots of leaves, hardly any cucumber, a slice of tomato, no onions and no bread for over € 15 - is not possible. Kässpätzle baked so much that they were crispy on the outside and dry on the inside... we said that, but we weren't interested... no portion of wild garlic Schupfnudeln € 18.90... YES, all the costs have increased, but that's true here the relationship is not.

Very nice location with very delicious food 😋. You can roam in the forest nearby, get yourself tired, and then have a delicious cake or food. We had a good time there. Highly recommended 👌

Nice excursion restaurant with a beautiful view

We have been coming here about twice a year for many years. The landscape is beautiful, The food tasted ok, but the unfriendliness of the service really surprised me. We had wonderful weather The food was put out without words, even when we were collecting the money, not a word like thank you or even have a nice day. I was really annoyed afterwards that I also gave a tip. And the price is quite impressive: schnitzel with spaetzle, without salad, 17.50 euros

Unfortunately, the Easter menu was a disappointment, especially for vegetarians/vegans. There were only side dishes, as the only meat-free main course was quickly gone and not refilled for a long time. You absolutely cannot charge the same full price of ~€45 for this.

Were there last summer. It was full but found a free table inside. I understand the lack of staff these days, but if the waitress walks past the table several times, they could say: Sorry, it's taking a little longer today, but I'll be back soon. But we were treated like air. Therefore no star because we left. Thanks for nothing.

Das Waldcafe hat eine tolle Lage mit einer besonderen Aussicht. Man kann beim Mittagessen weit über die Felder blicken. Wir waren mit der Familie dort, das Speisenangebot ist groß und für jeden etwas dabei. Uns hat es sehr gut geschmeckt und wir werden sicherlich nochmal wiederkommen.

Wunderbar und eine tolle Aussicht.

Immer voll, hektischer Service. Das schmalste und überteuerste Stück Schwarzwälder aller Zeiten . Wenigstens hat es geschmeckt

Gutes und vorallem noch selbst gekochtes Essen. Die Spätzle mit Soße sind der Renner bei den Kindern. Kein Wunder bei dieser leckeren Bratensoße! Das Cordon-Bleu mit Pilzen und Käse ist auch was ganz anderes und super im Geschmack. Bisher wurden wir noch nie enttäuscht vom Essen und kommen gerne wieder. Einzige Anmerkung wäre, dass die Kinderhochstühle erneuert werden sollten.

Ein Café in sehr schöner Lage mit einem tollen Ausblick

Die Torten sind lecker. Der Gastraum hat das Ambiente einer Raststätte - hallig und mit dem Mobiliar der 1980er. Der Service ist etwas unkoordiniert - bedient Nachbartische, zwischen der Bestellaufnahme eines Tisches oder bringt den ersten am Tisch Kuchen bevor der letze am Tisch bestellen konnte.

Wunderschönen auf der Terrasse zu sitzen. Heidelbeekuchen lieblos gebacken, aber ok! Bedienung, ältere Dame—vermutlich die Chefin lustlos, Grundig bis uninspiriert. Unhöflich bedienend und aufdringlich belehrend wie es sich dem Gast gegenüber nicht gehört! Schade…

Sehr schönes Cafe gemütlich eingerichtet mit Sitzgelegenheiten im Freien und eine klasse Aussicht von Bad Dürrheim zu Fuß in ca 30 Minuten zu erreichen. Man kann aber auch mit dem Auto hinfahren.

Die Schwarzwälder Torte und der Kaffee waren lecker. Die Aussicht vom Waldcafé ist sehr schön. Die Bedienung war freundlich.

Wir haben Maultaschen mit Kartoffelsalat gegessen. Alles selbst gemacht. War super! Bedienung sehr freundlich. Kommen sicher wiederkommen.

Ein etwas abseits liegenden Restaurant das seines Gleichen sucht, super Essen in guter Menge, sehr freundliches Personal und auch eine schöne Aussicht. Hier kommen wir noch öfters hin. Sehr zu empfehlen!!

Das Waldcafé mag zwar nicht in die Sphären außerordentlicher Gaumenfreuden vordringen, doch verdient es ohne Zweifel seine vier von fünf Sternen. Die Bedienung, stets von einer freundlichen Aura umgeben, ergänzt das durchweg gute kulinarische Angebot auf vorbildliche Weise.

WOW ....es gefiel mir dort äußerst gut Der Eiskaffee war lecker, das Essen kann ich leider nicht bewerten da ich leider nicht in dem Genuss gekommen bin. Sah aber alles lecker aus - hübsch angerichtet. Bei meinem nächsten Besuch ist Mittagessen definitiv auf dem Plan!

Wunderschöne Lage. Ein erholsamer Spaziergang durch den Wald von Bad Dürrheim aus lohnt sich, da man vom freundlichen Personal herzlich begrüßt und mit leckeren Speisen, Kuchen und.... verwöhnt wird. Auch mit dem Auto oder Fahrrad gut zu erreichen.

Wunderschönes Ausflugsziel mit wunderschönem Aussenambiente. Und natürlich super netter Bedienung. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.

Der Aufstieg wird mit einer tollen Aussicht belohnt

Schönes Restaurant mit einer tollen Terrasse. Sehr freundliche Bedienung aber großen Punktabzug dafür dass die ersten fertig waren mit Essen als die letzten ihr Essen erst bekommen hatten. Essen ist gut aber Luftsprünge würde ich deshalb nicht machen. Was ich etwas seltsam empfunden habe war der Salat zum Essen. Die meisten Restaurants bieten einen kleinen Salat zum Essen der im Preis enthalten ist. Wir haben für alle drei Salate nochmal extra gezahlt.

Nach einer kleinen Wanderung von Bad Dürrheim kommend ist das ein gutes Ziel, um sich zu stärken und nicht nur den Ausblick zu genießen. Die Karte bietet für jeden Geschmack was, das Essen ist superlecker und der Service ist spitze. Auch der Wein mündete hervorragend.

Bereits bei der Reservierung eines Tisches und Zusammenstellung eines Menüs für > 10 Personen merkt man als Kunde, dass die Betreiber schlichtweg überfordert sind. Es fällt nicht nur eine Bankettpauschale an, sondern man zeigt sich auch sehr unflexibel, was die Essenwünsche der Gäste anbelangt. Zudem sind die Preise extrem überteuert und man wird schlichtweg mit den Menü-Preisen über den Tisch gezogen. Ich habe das Waldcafé schon in meiner Kindheit besucht und war damals immer zufrieden (wohl noch andere Betreiber gewesen). Es ist wunderschön von der Location und der Aussicht. Aber das Essen und vor allem der Service und die Kundenorientierung hat extrem nachgelassen. Absolut unverständlich in meinen Augen, wie man so ein tolles Lokal so schlecht führen kann.
