Cafe Restaurant Gotthard in Hengersberg

Perfekte Lage an einem ruhigen, schönen Marktplatz, direkt an einem Brunnen, mit hervorragendem Essen (die Knoblauchsuppe war die beste, die ich je gegessen habe), guten Preisen und schnellem Service. Besser geht es nicht.

Nach einer 100 km langen Rennradtour wollten wir uns zum Abschluss noch ein Radler gönnen, bevor wir mit dem Auto weiterfuhren. Wir bestellten zwei Runden, die Hälfte der Biere war hohl, das schlechteste Radler hatte nur noch über 2 cm Wasser. Das auf dem Foto ist das zweitschlechteste. Anscheinend orientieren sie sich an tschechischen Kneipen. So etwas hätte ich in einem Familienbetrieb in Bayern wirklich nicht erwartet 👎

Ich wollte mit einem Freund ein Bier trinken und wir wurden wie Rassisten behandelt.

Ich war jetzt schon einige Male dort, das Essen ist auch ganz in Ordnung. Doch ein Kellner hat mich jetzt dreimal unfreundlich/komisch behandelt, sodass ich dort nicht mehr hingehen werde. Und wenn man die anderen Kommentare liest, scheint dieser Herr das schon länger zu machen.

Kaum ist man am Tisch,kommt sofort 1 Bedienung mit Speisekarte und zur Begrüßung,sonnige Plätze auf dem Marktplatz,man nimmt den kfz.-Verkehr nicht wahr.

Gemütliches Lokal mit freundlichem Service und guter Küche!

Wir haben Anfang Januar unsere Hochzeit mit ca. 75 Personen gefeiert und haben Catering (Fingerfood, Vor- und Hauptspeise) vom Cafe Gotthard bekommen. Es war rundum super! Unser Wunsch nach vegan-vegetarischem Essen wurde aufgenommen, es wurden tolle Vorschläge gebracht und wir konnten auch noch das ein oder andere nach unseren Wünschen anpassen. Kommunikation, Lieferung, Aufbau, Abholung lief alles reibungslos und unkompliziert ab und der Preis war sehr fair. Würden wir jederzeit wieder so machen.

Das Licht an den Stufen ist zu hell und blendet. Meine Mutter ist durch das gestürzt und es hat sich keiner darum gekümmert! Sie war deshalb durch den Sturz gesundheitlich eingeschränkt!

Heute Samstag 8.11 mit reisegruppe Bedienung Chefin sehr sehr unfreundlich parsch zu den Gästen schnitzel kalt pommes aufgewärmt

Heute war ein absolut unerwarteter negativer Besuch im GOTTHARD, den wir so schnell nicht mehr vergessen werden. Eine junge Bedienung hat unsere Essensbestellung # verloren in der Küche # , nach 90 Minuten nachfragen bekamen wir dann das zweite Getränk (!) und die leicht gereizte Antwort: "Fehler passieren." Kurz darauf kamen Kartoffeln, triefend vor Fett , ein Fleisch ,dass unappetietlich angerichtet war und völlig geschmacksneutral geschmeckt hat - alles in allem 50 Euro in eine schlechte Erfahrung gesteckt. Als krönender Abschluss wurden mein Partner und ich beim Bezahlen beinah richtiggehend beschimpft von der jungen Dame und ihrem alteingesessenen Kellnerkollegen ( K. & R. ) , als wir ehrlich antworteten , dass es uns nicht geschmeckt hat . Zitat : " Solche Gäste sind unerwünscht im Lokal " und noch so einige andere Beleidigungen und das alles lautstark im Schankraum! Fazit : als Hengersbergerin war ich wirklich immer gerne im Lokal und hab mir und meiner Familie auch öfters was bestellt zum Abholen und wir waren bis heute wirklich hochzufrieden! Umso peinlicher und belastendend war unser heutiger- bis auf weiteres letzter - Besuch dort. Übrigens stehen mein Partner und ich für eine erstegemeinte Entschuldigung (!) wegen einem ungenießbaren Essen und einer äußerst unverschämten Behandlung jederzeit zur Verfügung.

A nice restaurant in itself. But we won't be going back; one of the waiters was so unfriendly, you don't feel at home there. Unfortunately, our roast beef with onions wasn't that great either; instead of medium, it was actually more than raw, "flaky." The only response was, oh well, in the restaurant industry, you're supposed to like your job. The whole evening was simply unfriendly, with no attention paid to us wanting more drinks or paying. The food at the Gotthardt might cost a bit more, but then the overall package should be just right.

The service wasn't friendly! It would be nice if there was some quiet music playing in the background to improve the atmosphere!

Sensational food! The menu is manageable, but the dishes taste wonderful. Even though a private birthday party was taking place, we received prompt and friendly service, and they even offered the option of preparing something "special" for children. All three different meat dishes were cooked to perfection. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

The food was very good, beautifully presented and the portions were large.

Rarely—actually never—have I experienced such rude service. We arrived as a group of six and wanted to sit in the garden. Since most of the tables were free but reserved, our question as to where we could find a seat was initially ignored. A further question was answered with: where it's not reserved. This continued for a few more sentences, but that would take us too far. I can't comment on the possible quality of the service, as we didn't even sit down despite such an unfriendly reception. A resounding NO from me to another attempt.

We wanted to take a break here today around 2 p.m. on our six-bike motorcycle tour. When we arrived, exactly two tables were occupied. The waiter initially ignored us completely, and even when we approached him, there was no response. On the second attempt, we were told, rather listlessly, that all the larger tables were reserved because a bus was about to arrive. We wanted to reserve two smaller tables and put them together. The waiter then asked us if we wanted to eat, but in the same breath, informed us that we weren't allowed to put the tables together. When we asked why that wasn't possible, the waiter became quite rude and told us to calm down. We were neither rude nor did we harass the waiter in any way. We used to enjoy the Gotthard. That won't happen again in the future. We then drove on. Apparently, it's no longer necessary here.

My friend sat down on the outdoor terrace. The waiter then came over and, without a word or a glance, slammed a "reserved" sign on the table (on the half-full terrace). When I asked 10 minutes later if we could have our menus, he gave me the blunt and loud reply, "I'm not serving you here anymore because you've sat at a reserved table." When I clarified this, I was met with loud and rude insults, which led us to leave. Because there's no point stooping to that level. According to local sources, his behavior is well known. Our advice: avoid this restaurant; it is diametrically opposed to service and hospitality.

The waiter didn't understand his job. Absolutely disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional. I've rarely experienced anything like this. The waiter is already known for this kind of behavior. I recommend finding an alternative location.

I was really disappointed. The cutlery was dirty—there were still food residues on several forks and knives. That's unacceptable.

I'm actually only writing this review on my second visit. And even before the first visit, it was clear that we would be coming back for more. This time I ordered a club sandwich (photo), thinking it would be delicious toast. But you can see what came next. It was delicious, and despite its size, it was easy to eat. However, the fries I ordered with it were definitely too much :D It was very tasty, and I highly recommend it.

Good, home-style food. The baked potatoes with bacon and sour cream are especially recommended. Friendly service. Reservations recommended on weekends.

I've been to Cafe Restaurant Gotthard for lunch several times and have never been disappointed. The lunch menu is varied and delicious, and the service is prompt and friendly. You feel at home, can eat in a relaxed manner, and even use your break productively if needed. Highly recommended!

Tasty "Helles" beer on tap and delicious food at reasonable prices. Ideal for a break along the Danube Ilz Cycle Path. The service could be friendlier, but it's not a big deal.

Delicious food right in the middle of the market square

A restaurant on the town square with a spacious outdoor area. The beer garden offers good shade. The service was fast, competent, and friendly. There's a menu with standard dishes, snacks, and daily specials. We both had risotto with arugula from the daily special, two waters, and two espressos ☕️!

We've been regulars at the Gotthard for three years and unfortunately, we've noticed that the restaurant has changed for the worse. The service seemed unmotivated, listless, and unfriendly the last few times. Today we had to wait over 20 minutes for our drinks, even though the restaurant was less than half full. On top of that, prices have risen significantly, and the food isn't consistently good every day. It's a shame, the Gotthard was much better two years ago!

I've never been treated so rudely and disrespectfully by a service employee anywhere. The eight of us decided not to order and to leave immediately. It's a shame, I enjoyed being there. It won't happen again.

Super nice atmosphere. Tastefully furnished, very modern and cozy. Super nice service. Large portions but extremely good schnitzel. Very good quality of the currywurst. The wild garlic soup, Obadzda and Boulliabaise were particularly tasty. We can absolutely recommend the Gotthard!

It was my first time here and I chose a daily special. Price-performance ratio is great. Unfortunately, I didn't like it quite as much as I expected, but I still decided to give it 4 stars because my companion had a slightly different opinion. The service is great and the ambience invites you to stay longer. There are also parking spaces in front of the front door. I will definitely be a guest here again when I am in the area and have already made recommendations to my friends.

There were 6 of us in the restaurant. Everyone ate something different and everyone chose correctly. We were extremely satisfied. Friendly staff and very good food. Gladly again.

Rip-off to the power of three... Noodle/beef soup (Yakiniku Ramen HSP) for €22.50 (!!!). Shouldn't have followed the waiter's recommendation and perhaps looked at the menu first. When I paid and looked at the bill skeptically, she laughed at me. Never again.

Hello, Gasthaus Gotthard is a top restaurant in Hengersberg. We came across this restaurant by chance on our way back from our 2x annual vacation. It's always nice to stop there, linger and eat delicious food. Today alone, our lunch was very tasty 😋. A small problem of communication, the food pictured is not Lendchen (as it is called in Bavaria) but it is not Lendchen. 5 minute steak. Even cyclists 🚴‍♂️ 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♂️ come through here on their tours. Please don't get me wrong, you cook very well. See you soon dear Gasthaus Gotthard

On the way home we decided to stop for a snack, since there were excellent reviews and not far from the autobahn, what can I say! The food is terrible, they put kilograms of French fries, but they are absolutely not tasty, they float in fat! I don't recommend taking the burger! It feels like food for pigs! We left 80% of the food, it is not possible to sit in the restaurant itself, since there is no air conditioning in 30 degree heat, and it is impossible to sit on the street where there are no umbrellas to protect from the sun. The toilet is dirty, the hand washing sink is so small that water splashes on clothes while washing! In a word, I don’t recommend it!

Food was OK. Service was very mixed. At first a very unfriendly waiter (who definitely had no business being in service) assigned us new seats, but then another, clearly pleasant waiter came and served us sensibly.

Never again ! Literally a chip shop! I don't understand why there are so many reviews here. Staff extremely unfriendly, not once asked if the food was good, no salt and pepper put on the table (little tip: bring them with the cutlery!!!!). The rice wasn't cooked through and both of us got stomach cramps and flatulence from eating!!! We were also deducted and only noticed it later, when we had already paid and looked at the receipt questioningly. 60€ for 2 food and water !!?, the portions were puny, I've never been so disappointed with a meal. Clean, well-kept atmosphere, good, rich food, nice staff. The toilets are also very clean. The only disadvantage is that it is not handicapped accessible. Can only recommend the mountain inn!

This advertises that Hengersberg has always had the reputation that everything here has been much more expensive since the Middle Ages. The cheapest meal costs €10.10 The most expensive €27.89

You can always eat well there. The staff is friendly and quick. The prices are still within a good range.

The way the restaurant is run is simply exemplary. Great quality from the kitchen, very competent staff. Keep it up, highly recommended. 🤗🙂
