WOW!!! We'll be back! Insanely delicious, super large portions that suit everyone. Great quality. The atmosphere is great, young and old come together here, whether it's a wedding party or a day trip. The service is ALWAYS friendly and not stressed, even when the restaurant feels packed to capacity. Unbelievable, that's exactly how it's supposed to be. Thanks for the nice visit :)

Alles vom Feinsten. War mit einem alten Kumpel anlässlich unseres monatlichen gemeinsamen Mittagessen hier "gelandet", wir haben es nicht bereut. After a great walk around the dam we stopped here and ordered a waffle with hot cherries and a goulash soup. It was brought to the table very quickly by a very nice service person and the food tasted simply excellent!! Definitely recommended!!

Ich würde gerne etwas erfreuliches sagen, da ich aber 20 Minuten gewartet habe ohne das ein Servicemitarbeiter kam und ich dann weiter musste, ist dies leider nicht möglich. Ich wollte nur eine Tasse Kaffee trinken.

Compared to my visit a few years ago under a different owner, this time I was positively surprised. The ambience was very nice. The choice of colors and decoration both inside and outside were well coordinated and created a feel-good atmosphere. In the outdoor area there was even a bit of a holiday feeling when the weather was good^^ The rooms seemed clean and tidy and the staff were friendly. The restaurant was busy when I visited, so I had to wait a bit for my order to be taken. These were then brought to the table very quickly and correctly. I can't currently give a review about the food and sanitary facilities because I didn't use this service during my visit. In my opinion, the prices are reasonable at this point in time.

This was our first time eating here again since the change of tenant. Really great. 😊 Super delicious food and top service. Gladly again! Edit! Food was great again 😍 The outdoor area has been partially renovated or expanded. It turned out really nice 😊👍 Overall it was very nice again. Unfortunately, the prices are now also very high. Therefore 1 star deduction! 🤷‍♂️

Sehr schönes Ambiente. Leider reagierte der Chef auf eine freundlich dargebrachte Reklamation sehr frech, beleidigend und war kurz davor, uns hinauszuwerfen. Die Kritik am Salat war angebracht, wollte aber leider nicht gehört werden… Man mache das immer so… Total in der Joghurtsoße ertränkt und das bei einem Caesars Salad … Schade - nicht zu empfehlen - da der Chef frech und unverschämt ist.

Light and shadow. Today's visit was the first under the new operators. First of all, the outdoor area has become beautiful and invites you to linger. The staff was young and very friendly. And unfortunately overwhelmed or let down by the kitchen. Coffee and waffles as well as a piece of cake were ordered. The coffee came quite quickly, the waffles came one by one, and when the last of three waffles was brought, the first waffle had already been eaten. Despite repeated requests, my cake didn't come at all, so I remembered the cake inside. Unfortunately it didn't work either. After we had ordered and paid the bill several times, the cake arrived, but I then had to have it returned. To be fair, after I put the cake down, we were told that there was a lot going on today and that the cake was also going out. That was meant nicely, but in the end it didn't help me anymore. We will try again because we actually liked the atmosphere and team and the waffles were well received. The dishes on each other's plates all looked very wholesome, and the pricing was also okay. Which really surprised me. A robotic lawnmower was doing its job on the large lawn while several small children were playing nearby. 3/5 stars Update 09/01/2024 The staff is now much more well-coordinated, so I'm upgrading it by one star. + Map is pleasantly versatile + The outdoor area has grown beautifully and invites you to linger + Staff now on their toes - A robotic lawnmower still runs during catering operations. I find it impossible because it means pure stress for parents. - A swing would massively improve the largely unused lawn area for children • Card payment only possible at the counter.

It was recommended to us by friends! Conclusion: I haven't eaten this great in a long time! The terrace is simply beautiful and the staff tries to accommodate every wish! We will definitely come back! The house was immediately recommended to other friends!

Very nicely located excursion restaurant directly at the Breitenbachtalsperre with plenty of parking space. You walk around the dam on a well-developed tarmac path for about an hour and can then stop here for a delicious home-style meal or sweet dishes. The service was friendly, attentive and quick - everything was under control even when there was a lot of traffic. The portions were extremely generous - always worth a trip!

(08/2024) A very nice atmosphere right at the top of the Breitenbachtalsperre, plus delicious food and great service. The outside terrace is covered by an awning and is very, very large. There is a large garden with a sandpit for children to play in. The toilets are very clean. The selection of food is not too large, but the portions are very large.

Ate on the terrace around 6pm on Friday 16 August 24. Despite the full restaurant, the waiter was highly professional, emphatic and completely calm. With the support of a colleague, everything went smoothly. Food and drinks were impeccable. This is how gastronomy should be.

The price-performance ratio is right. I had a waffle with hot cherries, cream and ice cream. The portion was very generous for the price. I've never experienced anything like that before. Craziness! The terrace is very modern with flowering plants, very tastefully designed. The service is friendly.

Leider keine gute Erfahrung. Unfreundliches Personal. Das erste was gefragt wird, ob man reserviert hat. Wir waren um 16 Uhr für einen Kaffee u Kuchen dort. Nein wir hatten nicht reserviert, zu dreiviertel waren die Tische nicht besetzt. Wir sollten dann an einen Biertisch mit Bänken ohne Lehne in der Sonne sitzen, wir fragten nach einem anderen Tisch u der wurde uns nur widerwillig erlaubt. Der wäre reserviert, natürlich kam niemand für einen reservierten Tisch. Letzten Endes unerfreulich. Wir wollten ein Sitzkissen, das gab es nicht. Statt einer Flasche Mineralwasser bekamen wir völlig ein überteuertes Wasser aus der Leitung. Preis und Leistung passen hier nicht. Die Speisen sind nett dargeboten aber nur durchschnittlich. Dazu noch eine unhöfliche Stimmung. Wir kommen nicht mehr wieder, man kann seine Zeit besser verbringen. Schade für das schöne Ambiente, aber die Pächter, auch der Vorgänger waren ohne Freundlichkeit und weit weg von guter Gastronomie.

Despite there being free places, we were turned away. I still understand that the kitchen is overloaded when it's busy, but that it's seriously not possible to get a drink?! We've always been happy to come, but that was really impossible.

Breakfast was okay, service was like this, I asked for a different seat because it was so cold, the door was open, the waitress said I should dress more thickly, although I was wearing a thick sweater and a winter jacket, that's what I thought I shameless

Totally beautiful there. We stopped there spontaneously after a great walk around the dam and were given a very warm welcome. We had a table right at the entrance, a little away from the many visitors, and were absolutely happy with it. The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly and the price-performance ratio is totally right! Our food was delicious and the portions were very large! I had the tomato fries 😊 and my husband and our son of course schnitzel 😅 We will definitely be back soon. A great location. Keep it up!!!!!!!!!

We were there for dinner with friends (7 people). Very friendly and attentive but not intrusive service. All the food we ordered came out of the kitchen quickly after ordering and was very tasty. A highlight were the hot plates that were served. This meant the food stayed warm until the last bite. It wasn't the last time we were there! KEEP IT UP! EXCELLENT!!!

Staff was very nice. Schnitzel with mushrooms was also very tasty. What bothered us, however, was that we were supposed to sit at the 3 tables by the door, the door kept opening and closing, all the smokers were standing there. It was cold, rainy and very windy outside. We refused and were given a table by the stairs, slightly better... Dear team, please just accept fewer guests, we had reserved, but thought of a hidden camera when selecting the table. We'll still come back. It was too tasty for you.

Home cooking. Price performance is right. Service staff very nice.

We celebrated our civil wedding here. In total we had 20 guests and everyone was very satisfied. The food was very tasty and the drinks were ready quickly. At first, one or two of our family joked that they wanted to order the entire menu that we had put together in advance, but when the really large portions came to the table, they quickly quieted down 😅 As can be seen in my wife's review, we were here for a rehearsal dinner in advance, discussed everything and brought over decorations 2-3 days beforehand that were decorated there for us. All in all, the day couldn't have gone better for us and we would like to thank the entire guardhouse team and especially the colleague who planned the whole thing with us because she was very attentive and understands her job 👍 We would be happy to come back and would be happy to recommend you.

Didn't get a table despite booking. We were also asked to sit at the small tables on the stairs. There is a large air gap behind and next to the chairs without any security, there is a risk of injury here, which is actually unreasonable. It was very loud and very stuffy, also not recommended. At least the drinks were on the house but the whole experience was incredibly bad.

We were here with our wedding party of 20 guests after the wedding. We agreed with the restaurant in advance and clarified all the details from the menu to the champagne reception. We brought decorations over beforehand and the staff on site decorated everything. It looked beautiful. We had an overall lovely day. With the sunny weather we were able to go outside. The children could play in the sandpit. There was a lot of variety. The staff was always committed and kept asking for drinks. To be honest, it should be noted that there were staff who were more committed and customer-oriented than others on site. Nevertheless, I would like to give you full stars. The food was really good! Great restaurant/café. Attentive service, great food, good portions. The prices are acceptable. I had mushrooms, fried onions, tomato, hollandaise sauce and outstanding fries. Plus a water. So delicious. I only thought about taking a photo of the food when I was eating. Couldn't resist the delicious meal again. It's worth a visit .

Yesterday I had dinner here with my daughter after we did a bike ride around the dam and sat on the beautifully landscaped terrace. There is a small sandpit behind the house so that my daughter could easily bridge the waiting time for food. We were warmly greeted, served and said goodbye by the staff. We ordered apple spritzer and cappuccino and for dinner there was a children's schnitzel with fries and salad (very large portion) and a Balkan salad. Portion, taste and quality really very good. Prices adapted to today's times. We were very satisfied with everything and would definitely come back again.😊 Addendum: we were actually here again on March 10, 2024. This time with 4 adults and 1 child. This time too, everything was great again. Super nice and good, attentive service. Great ambience and super delicious food. And the size of the portions is very justified in relation to the price. Very beautiful here. Always my pleasure!

We went for dinner with friends. The space is functionally furnished. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Since the location was busy, we had to wait a little longer for the food. A seat reservation is recommended. The food was plentiful and very tasty. We have reserved a place for Holy Saturday. The menu is available online. The old guard's house is worth another visit. Die warme Beleuchtung und die geschmackvolle Einrichtung schafften eine angenehme Atmosphäre, die perfekt war, um sich zu entspannen und die Mahlzeit zu genießen. Was das Essen betrifft, welches wir probiert haben, so lässt sich sagen, dass es ein kulinarisches Erlebnis war! Und unsere Gerichte waren meines Erachtens frisch zubereitet, schön präsentiert und voller Geschmack. Jeder Bissen war ein Genuss für die Sinne! Der Service im Alten Wärterhaus war ebenfalls sehr angenehm. Das Personal war stets aufmerksam und freundlich. Insgesamt kann ich das Alte Wärterhaus sehr empfehlen und ich freue mich schon darauf, bald wieder zurückzukehren!

A culinary experience! We found the ambience of the restaurant with the indoor waterfall very charming and inviting. The warm lighting and tasteful furnishings created a pleasant atmosphere that was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the meal. As for the food we tried, it can be said that it was a culinary experience! The menu offers a wide range of options. And I felt our dishes were freshly prepared, beautifully presented and full of flavor. Every bite was a treat for the senses! The service in the old guard house was also very pleasant. The staff was always attentive and friendly. They tried very hard to ensure that we didn't miss anything. Overall, I can highly recommend the Altes Wärterhaus and I look forward to returning again soon!

My husband and I went to the Old Warden's House this afternoon after a walk around the dam and can only warmly recommend it. For my husband, as a steak lover, it was a real pleasure to be served a perfectly grilled steak. I also really enjoyed the house fries with mushrooms! The waitresses were very accommodating and friendly. If you are looking for a first class steak then you should definitely come here.

Despite making a reservation with a dog and despite having free seats, we didn't get a table. We were directed to a "table" on the stairs where neither two people nor the dog could sit. Guests after us were given a free table for four without a reservation. THANKS FOR NOTHING! I can spend my money elsewhere!!!

Ambiance from the inside, well furnished, very modern but also true to the dam. Water feature fits, has a calming and relaxing effect. Service team very friendly and competent, also love dogs 😉 Food very tasty and large portions, beautifully presented on the plate, thumbs up to the kitchen team. I've been in this environment for 6 days and I have to say clearly, I HAD THE ONLY FOOD HERE WHICH WAS BOTH ENJOYABLE AND REALLY DELICIOUS!! STEAK RECOMMENDED!! Everything looks delicious, good shop (maybe the best within 10km) Damn delicious, this place apparently has something to offer in terms of cuisine. PS you can also take a nice walk here before or after (at least in the snow)

Hervorragendes Essen in Klasse Atmosphäre. Der Biergarten ist grade im Sommer sehr schön und lädt zum verweilen ein.

Heute haben wir mit 8 Personen um 13.00Uhr einen Tisch reserviert. Um 14.30Uhr wurden wir um Zahlung gebeten, da der Tisch schon weiter reserviert wäre. Kurze Zeit später, die noch gebrachten Getränke halb voll, sollten wir doch mal endlich gehen. Es wurde uns im Vorfeld NICHT mitgeteilt, dass wir nur 1 1/2 Stunden bleiben dürfen. Das wäre normal an einem Feiertag und sagen müssten sie uns gar nichts. Da sind die 240€ , die wir dort bezahlt haben natürlich auch nur NEBENSACHE. Wir sind lange Jahre Gäste hier und am Allenbacher Bahnhof. Das hat uns sehr enttäuscht!!!! Aber wenn nur der Umsatz zählt. Schade

Sehr leckeres Essen, wir hatten div. Schnitzel, Salate und Nudeln. Alles zu empfehlen! Portionen eher groß was der Qualität aber keinen Abbruch tat. Essen für 11 Leute kam fast gleichzeitig. Einziger Wermutstropfen, Küche sollte bis 20:00 Uhr auf sein, wir hatten noch einen Nachzügler, aber sie war dann doch schon kurz nach halb acht geschlossen. Service war aufmerksam und freundlich.

sehr schön und gutes essen , pommes mit Champignons, tiramisu war super, trotz Hundebegleitung alle wirklich sehr nett ! schnelle Bedienung, schneller Service (3 mal nachbestellt) top . wir kommen gerne wieder und empfehlen jedem ,in der näheren Umgebung mal hierhin zu gehen. am besten ohne auto , da leider schon sehr viele Fahrzeuge und keine Parkplätze.

Nettes Restaurant gutes Essen und schön im Sommer draussen sitzen und Kaffee und Kuchen nach einer Runde um den Stausee ca. 5 km genießen.

Ein wirklich schönes Kleinod an der Breitenbachtalsperre. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und riesige Portionen. Die Preise fürs Essen finden wir etwas zu hoch, die Menge auf dem Teller gleicht es dann wieder aus.... Das Personal auch sehr freundlich, alles in allem: wir kommen wieder, danke für einen schönen Abend.

Wir waren heute zum Mittagessen dort. Bedienung sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Essen schmeckte SUPER, Preise ok...sehr empfehlenswert! Wir werden wieder hinfahren.

Bisher habe ich dort noch nie eine schlechte Erfahrung mit dem Service gemacht, was ich jetzt revidieren muss! Die männliche Servicekraft, die mich bediente wies mich arrogant am Tisch zurecht, nachdem er mir das 2.Mal das falsche Wasser gebracht hatte. Als ich ihn schon beim 1x darauf hinwies, fragte ich ihn beim 2x, ob er die Getränkekarte kennt, da ich nun das 2.x eine Karaffe Tafelwasser ohne Kohlensäure bestellt hatte, er mir aber nun eine Flasche stilles Wasser brachte! Beim 1.x ein Glas Wasser mit Kohlensäure! Daraufhin wurde er pampig und meinte, wir könnten gerne über Tafelwasser diskutieren, das fand ich echt frech. Er hielt kurz Rücksprache mit Frau Münker, danach bekam ich die mir dort bekannte Karaffe Wasser von Frau Münker! Er würdigte mich nach dieser Sache keines Blickes mehr! Der Mensch macht Fehler, dafür sind wir Menschen, ich hätte gut gefunden, wenn er sich entschuldigt hätte! Dieser mir bis dahin unbekannte Servicemitarbeiter sollte unbedingt an seiner Art arbeiten, denn sonst hat er im Sevice definitiv nix zu suchen!

Meine Schwiegermutter hätte gestern ihren 86. Geburtstag dort gefeiert. Es war sehr gut, sowohl von der Bewirtung als auch von den Speisen her. Obwohl diese eigentlich zu überdimensioniert, sprich zu reichhaltig waren. Hat jedoch der Qualität keineswegs geschadet
