Typical Berlin - good place for work, relaxation, meetings and exchange

I wanted to quickly grab a coffee for the nearby park during my lunch break. Café Pfoertner was almost empty. I stood at the counter, where two women had just been served drinks. The counter staff was trying to break up ice cubes with a knife and squeeze something into a silver device. Next to her, it seemed as if the manager was standing idly, and in the back of the kitchen was the cook, who was just cleaning. It really wasn't busy! After about 10 minutes of waiting, I couldn't take any more and had to leave the shop without being served due to the limited break. I can only recommend bringing plenty of time and having to accept a non-cooperative manager. I also noticed the rather loud music.

We had such a wonderful evening, mega mega mega, nice service and although we waited a long time for the cheese platter, I have rarely experienced such a loving handling of mistakes. In conclusion, we were so spoiled and cared for, rarely experienced so many nice service people, thank you and great wine.

I wish they offered simpler, more delicious food at better prices, or focused on a beer garden. Prenzlberg doesn't fit Wedding. But the location is great, really nice, and the service is attentive. The potential hasn't been fully realized yet.

Very small indoor place but lots more seats outdoors. I think we were there at an unfortunate time cause outdoors looked kinda chaotic, the tables were dirty and a broken piece of one of the umbrellas was lying below our table - I assume things got a bit messed up during the recent storms. The menu is rather small. For drinks you can choose between coffee or bottled lemonade. I wish there was a decaf option or juice or a home-made lemonade for summer cause it was such a hot and humid day we went there. The staff was super friendly and also kind enough to put some ice cubes in our coffee. Croissant was good! Comparatively of what you can find in the neighborhood not bad at all but also not outstanding. I’ve heard the lunch is supposed to be really good and fresh. Plus, they’re supposed to have a nice vegan carrot cake - which they didn’t the day we were there, so maybe I’ll come back to try that.

The food at Café Pförtner is delicious and always interesting (although certainly quite pricey a lot of the time). The main reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that there is always a long wait for the food - today we waited over an hour for it even though there were not that many others here with us, and it's always been about 30 minutes or so the many other times I've been here. In addition, though ordering two of the same dishes, one even somehow came out significantly before the other.

A unique atmosphere here in Berlin Wedding, with an old BVG bus. Whether for lunch or dinner, the menu changes daily. Wonderful!

A lovely café with lunch specials. I was there around 1:30 p.m. and had herring with treble hooks and salad for a whopping €15. You can sit outside in the lovely flowery garden, or inside. You order at the counter, and then your food is brought to your table. Next door is the Uferhallen (riverside hall) with many artists' studios. I wouldn't drive there specifically for the food, but I'd happily stop by again if I was in the area.

Went in the morning (during opening hours). The staff was unwelcoming and rude. We left immediately. Wouldn’t recommend going there.

The coffee is excellent, and you can relax. Everything else is up to you to judge for yourself.

Beautiful location. But for dinner there is stale, ready-made cake with bad cream. And quite overpriced for that. Good thing the sun was shining, nice to sit outside Edit: I eat enough cake to be able to tell real cream from finished ones and if you cover old, dry spots with cream, then you're messing up 😬 sorry

This café is worth the trip, even though it is a little off the tourist itinerary. There is a relaxed and relaxing atmosphere, with spartan and original decor that makes you feel at home even if you are thousands of kilometers away. Abundant seating inside and out. There is also a bus, next to the entrance, which is used for children, giving an extra touch of originality. The blonde girl who served us was at the same time very polite, confident and attentive. We understand that there is no menu because during the day there are generally only a couple of dishes to choose from; the strong point are the cakes and juices so good (and with such large portions) that they can replace lunch. Highly recommended.

Cute little café, somewhat hidden away and great for couples in love and those who want to be: there is no heating. You just have to cuddle.

We ended up here by chance and were intrigued by the neon signs. Quaint location that reminds me of my youth in the 80s, when people still strolled through Kreuzberg and Wedding as Wessi and everything was a bit ragged but of course cool. We drank the best mint tea with lemon ever here and the flat white was also prepared with a lot of love. The music from Indy to classical also fit. We liked it!

The selection of warm drinks and pastries were good. It tasted good too! It wasn't that crowded in the afternoon, so it was easy to get a spot.

Interesting because of the so-called creative atmosphere around it, which has become rare. Unfortunately, investors have long since been harassed and threatened again. But that's no reason to ask for a creative 7 euros for a simple glass of white wine in this construction site atmosphere... a real contradictio in adjecto.. or again just: gastronomic capitalism. The service is limited to very few people plus self-service

I think the location is really nice for Wedding, I've been there several times now. I found the width for the food (especially salad) a bit excessive. But it still tasted good and everything else went well.

Nice open space for good parties on a larger scale, alternative and in keeping with the spirit of the times. Eat local, seasonal and limited. If something no longer exists, it no longer exists, that's it. Daily changing dishes, always an adventure! Great staff!

Had two stones in my food. Showed them. They didn’t care. Demanded I still pay full price. My friend was attacked by a hornet. Would not recommend

I've known Café Pförtner for a while and I love this place for its uniqueness (small, winding, creative, cozy...with bus) and location (opposite the Uferstudios). There is a small selection of dishes and the food tastes good so far. The cakes on offer are also delicious. Unfortunately, on my last visit I paid €4 for a really very narrow piece of apricot and nut cake (in my opinion it was supposedly the last piece on the plate... I would have just paid €4 for that... that then shared again...) I was speechless. My mistake: I hadn't been there in a while...and didn't ask about the price/piece size before ordering AND was too irritated to point it out straight away! PS: My piece was about half as narrow as the pieces in the pictures in the previous review. Maybe I was just unlucky this time - still a shame!

Great is all I can say to this it’s a gorgeous spot to drink a coffee or a chai latte for all the Zugezogenen but the food is super delicious too.

I tried it three times - they always miss THE ingredient which makes the dish orderly. Anyhow I guess Covid had a hard hit on this one - but please come back now to the great food I had 3-4 years ago!

I work right nearby. Great food options and my partner says they make the best cappuccino. Definitely one of our go twos.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Café Pförtner , and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that the establishment was not well-maintained. The floors were sticky, and the tables were in desperate need of a thorough cleaning. It was a disheartening first impression. To make matters worse, I found myself in an uncomfortable situation with the owner. Despite no official policy against laptop use, I was scolded for not seeking explicit permission. This seemed rather unfair, especially considering the consistent financial contribution I make during my visits, typically spending between $15 to $20. It's disheartening to see such potential squandered by an owner more concerned with profit margins than creating a welcoming atmosphere. Regrettably, this experience has left me with no desire to return to Café Pförtner. I strongly advise potential patrons to explore other options that offer a more enjoyable and respectful experience. There are countless establishments that prioritize both quality and customer service.

It felt like we waited half a day in line first and then another half a day waiting for our order. Not really worth it

Kleine feine Karte, besondere Gerichte, absolut zu empfehlen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Location auch total cool!! (Auch wenn diese leicht abgelegen ist und man deswegen ne Weile laufen muss)

Les plats sont un peu justes après une séance de sport, mais l'endroit en vaut la peine et le service est sympa.

It's not bad, but a bit too overpriced. Ordinary tasting chicken for 18 euro, and a tiny piece of steak for 23. It's a cool place to visit to have a glass of wine, but don't expect to get full.

Pause an der Panke in kunterbuntem, kunstvollen Ambiente mit liebevoll zubereitetem Lunch-Angebot. Heute: super Suppe! Saftiger Salat [mit extra Annanas 🍍] Und Gnoccis. Ein Gaumenschmaus. Geheimtipp: schattiger Sitzplatz hinter dem himmelblauen Bus.🚌 Anschließend Verdauungsspaziergang entlang der naheliegenden Panke. 🌊

Leider war das Essen nicht den Preis und Erwartungen wert. Fades und zerkochtes Risotto gegessen. Ambiente & Service ganz nett.

Leckeres und ausgefallenes Essen, auch viel vegetarisches dabei und eine tolle Atmosphäre. Wir lieben den Bus und die Tische aus denen die Büsche wachsen. 😍

Das Pförtner ist auf jeden Fall eine Bereicherung für die Gegend, insbesondere das Essen. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist klein, aber dennoch vielfältig und so ist für jede/n was dabei. Nur fehlt es noch ein wenig an Mut, die Gerichte bis zu Ende zu denken. Bei den Orrecchiette alla norma, wäre es durchaus schöner gewesen richtigen Ricotta Salata zu nehmen. Die sehr gut zubereiteten Auberginen haben das aber ausgeglichen. Der Schweinebauch war top und beeindruckend zart. Hier fehlte mir persönlich aber noch etwas Schärfe, eine Prise Szechuan Pfeffer hätte hier sicherlich etwas Großartiges geschaffen. Freue mich jedenfalls auf meine nächsten Besuch und bin gespannt, wie sich die Karte entwickelt.

das Café hat Küche zum Mittag und Abend mit unterschiedlichen, täglich wechselnden Karten. Das Ambiente ist niedlich, das Café ist in einem ehemaligen Pförtner-Häuschen, an der Seite mit einem Bus als Anbau zum reinsetzen wo man über den Laden hingelangt. Das Rumpsteak war on point, die gebratenen Drillinge waren Vierlinge und die Pilz-Cognac-Sauce ein Gedicht… Mit 23,50 € für dieses Gericht ist dieses Restaurant preislich absolut in Ordnung…

Typisch alternativer Wedding. Das Essen kam schnell und war lecker. Das Bestellen hat dafür leider umso länger gedauert aufgrund technischer Probleme, etwas chaotisch insgesamt.

The vibe and the location are great!! However the food was too oily and tasteless. We took the pulpit tartare and the pear salad. Price is okay, but still not worth it

Netter Ort mit interessanter Ausstattung.

Dachte, habe eine tolle Lokale fürmeinem Geburtstagsfeiee gefunden und es lief halbwegs gut. Alle waren sehr freundlich zu mir, allerdings sehr grob und unhöflich zu meine Gäste. Das ist sehr schcher Service, werde, nie wieder reinschauen. Und im Endeffekt Preise sind viel zu hoch

The management seems a bit chaotic, easily a line at cashier. But at least the person was friendly. The cake was huge. Unsure if that was the normal size or just because I had to wait for a while so I got a big one. There is an old bus where you can dine inside. It is an interesting experience.

I had high expectations of this place. The reality was some ok coffee and a hot chocolate that was so harsh and bitter you could have stripped varnish with it. The guy behind the counter must have had a bad hangover I imagine because every response was grumpy and monosyllabic. When asked what was on the breakfast menu, the response was "what's on the board". It turned out that half of it wasn't of course, apart from some curling, non-descript sandwiches. Maybe we just came at the wrong time...

Go have a Risotto in the Bus. Go Go!!

Would be great if the staff didn't have attitude (especially the younger guy) and they smile more. Especially if the customers give them a smile.

Nein Danke, muß man sich nicht antun. Kurz zusammengefasst: Unterer Durchschnitt in der Zubereitung der Speisen, in Super-Mini Portionen zu 5-Sterne Preisen. Ambiente ist skurril und absolut ungemütlich. Selbst in meinen Studentenzeiten wäre dieser Nepp als Treffpunkt durchgefallen

Loved it here! Super sweet service, absolute cute location with little details, super yum hot chocolate, refilled fresh mint tea, food looked awesome with fair prices (only tried lemon cake for now which was SO good, so definitely will come back for food). Not to crowded and even if so it‘s still enjoyably quiet.

Unglaublich schöne Ambiente, das Café ist in 3 verschiedene Räume verteilt in dem einen ist ein Kamin und es gibt noch einen Hinterhof. Der Cafe und Kuchen hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert!

Die Idee ist High Class Speisen in uriger Atmosphäre. Die Gerichte sind von der Idee her super, an der Umsetzung gibt es noch einiges zu verbessern. Die Speisen kosten um die 20 Euro, was wirich sehr viel ist in dieser Gegend. Dafur erwarte ich dann auch sehr gutes Essen. Das Fleisch war viel zu durch und nicht zart, die Pasta war zu durch und ansonsten gab es noch ein zwei Punkte mehr die nicht perfekt waren. Der Service war aber sehr freundlich und das Ambiente war auch toll.

Wahrscheinlich liest das Zielpublikum kein Bewertungsportal - sei's drum... Die Kneipe, in der auch Essen angeboten wird ist tatsächlich - wie in der Überschrift angedeutet - sehr kreativ eingerichtet und die Atmosphäre ist lässig und alternativ. Der Kaffee ist gut, das Essen ist okay. Jedoch sind die Preise offenbar gewürfelt: Für ein - passables - Irish Stew mit Lamm 12,50 € sind in Ordnung, für eine wässrige und sehr lasch schmeckende Kartoffelsuppe jedoch 7,50 Euro extrem teuer!

Grandios, netter Service, super Essen, coole Location.

Für eine kleine Auszeit und zu einer Zeitung aß ich einen super leckeren Schokoladenkuchen gemütlich draußen vor dem ehemaligen Pförtnerhäuschen. Der Café war ebenso herrlich und in der entspannten Stimmung lag der kreative Touch der Umgebung. Sher schön!

Das Essen war sehr gut und auch der Service, das Ambiente besticht durch Einfachheit.

The vibes and the staff were fantastic. Really enjoyed checking out the space and would return again but I wouldn't recommend ordering the vegan option. What I ordered was a veggie bowl and what I received looked like at least three of Jay-Z's 99 problems. It looked like a sacrifice to the many faced god. It looked like it was prepared by an exceptional and highly-ambitious preschooler. Reader, to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. But I have hope, I'll try this place again some other time.

Absoluter Wohlfühlort für mich und eins meiner Lieblingscafés. Schöne Atmosphäre, sehr leckeres und abwechslungsreiches Mittagessen. Ich hoffe das bleibt noch lange erhalten!!

Wie immer einfach ein Traum. Ich liebe diese Location einfach und hoffe, dass sie noch lange so erhalten bleibt. Das Konzept mit Drinnen, draußen und dem alten Schulbus ist schon ein Erlebnis. Dann ist das ausgefallene, sehr kreative Menü immer ein kleiner Überraschungsbonbon. Es ist immer lecker, total ästhetisch angerichtet und preislich echt fair für die Qualität. Das Personal ist nicht nur aufmerksam und freundlich, sondern auch einfach 1A. Nicht umsonst die Lieblingslocation von meiner Besten und mir - Ich liebs einfach!

This place itself is very pleasant but unfortunately the staff is very rude. I was there with my boyfriend and all the German looking people were asked what is the order, and to us the waiter just said “do you want something or are you just seating” when we were holding the menu. This is not the first time I have a bad experience with service here and that’s why I’m not coming back.

One of favourite places to go eat with the team in this area for the lunch. The menu changes all the time and is always fresh and very tasty! For the quality it’s very fairly priced, for us in the work context, a little too much to come everyday.

Leider war der Service sehr schlecht. Wir mussten mehrfach nach Getränken und Essen fragen. Wir mussten immer nach drinnen gehen und wurden nicht einmal gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Brot und Besteck wurden nicht bedient bis wir die Kellnerin 30 Minuten nach der Bestellung daran errinert haben. Wir mussten insgesamt 40 Minuten auf das Essen warten, das nicht besonders gut war, angenommen, das sein Preis relativ hoch ist. Wir wurden nicht informiert, dass die Küche geschlossen wurde und dementsprechend konnten keine weitere Speisen bzw. keinen Nachtisch bestellen.

Schöner und sehr nettes Restaurant. Man isst direkt in einem alten Schulbus oder auch bei schönem Wetter draußen. Die Küche ist lecker, ein bisschen was von allem und Preis Leistung ist sehr ansprechend. Gerne wieder

Leider ist die männliche Bedienung (ich vermute der Besitzer) sehr unhöflich und arrogant mit uns umgegangen. Ich hatte Besuche von meinen Eltern aus Hessen. Als wir meine 97 jährige Oma über Lautsprecher angerufen haben, hat sich der besagte Mann beschwert wie unhöflich dies sei, mit lauter Stimmt wollte er das Telefonat unterbrechen und hat gefordert, dass wir auflegen sollen und hat im Anschluss die Musik lauter gedreht. Außer uns war zu dem Zeitpunkts kein anderer Gast im Laden, sodass wie niemanden (außer den Besitzer) gestört haben. Als das Essen dann kam haben wir uns entschuldigt und erklärt, dass es sich um meine 97jährige Mutter im Heim handelt, die auf den Anruf gewartet hatte und dies wegen Schwerhörigkeit nur über Lautsprecher geht. Darauf hin wurden wir erneut ermahnt wie unhöflich unser Benehmen sei. Die Portion waren mikroskopisch klein und dem Preis und seinem schlechten Service absolut nicht angemessen. Als ich unsere Rechnung bestellte, wurden wir beabsichtigt ignoriert. Ich bin dann zu einer andern Bedienung gegangen die uns kassiert hat. Mein Fazit: ich werde diesen Laden nicht mehr betreten. Der Eigentümer ist arrogant, unhöflich, behandelt seine Bedienungen und Gäste schlecht und man fühlt sich unerwünscht. Service und Preis stimmen hier absolut nicht überein! Wirklich schade, früher hat mir der Ort gut gefallen, aber aktuell ist der Laden mit diesem Besitzer nicht mehr tragbar.

Meine Lieblingsadresse in meinem Kiez. Super kreative Location und Küche mit hochwertigen Zutaten. Sehr empfehlenswert:))

Ausflug im sonnigen Berlin, mit roommate, unserem Nesthäkchen Richard, hat sich zusammen gerauft, mit der TWG, und der tollen supervisor Christine, war sehr lange Zeit, beschäftigt, in der 🏰 Park-Klinik! Eigentlich, entstammt sie, bäuerlichen Kontext, Bayern! Auf dem Rückweg, Einkehr, in dieses unique, supergemuetliche, phantastische Café, um, im Sonnenlicht, diese superleckere, fruchtige, Rhabarber Limonade, zu genießen! Ich wurde sogar, eingeladen! Nette, schöne Menschen, am Nachbartisch! Ein gelungener Tag!

Immer wieder ein ausgesprochen gutes, kreatives Essen vor den Konzerten im wunderbaren piano salon nebenan, serviert in nie zu langer, angemessener Wartezeit von ausgesprochen freundlichen Bedienungen, die, wenn man etwas moniert oder was vergessen wurde offen und schnell reagieren. Die merkwürdigen Kommentare können wir nicht verstehen, zumal wir auch Gutes von den Gästen und Freunden vom Tanzzentrum immer wieder hören...Danke-gerne wieder.

In den gemütlichen, speziellen Räumen des Pförtner wieder gut gegessen: kreativ, geschmacklich hervorragend, hübsch angerichtet und preislich angemessen. Wir wurden wie immer sehr freundlich und zügig bedient; dass es kleine Wartezeiten hins. der kleinen Küche gibt und die Speisen frisch sind, versteht sich. So manche Bewertung ist uns unverständlich. Hören von Freunden sowohl aus der Tanzszene, die nebenan sind und von Besuchern des tollen piano salons nur Gutes. Das Ganze ist angenehm unortodox-immer wieder gerne...

Passt wirklich alles in dem Laden: Essen, Ambiente, Personal etc. Bin leider nicht mehr vor Ort, ich werde das Café ernsthaft vermissen!
