Café Markt in Mölln

Unfortunately, friendly feedback was not accepted: I ordered broccoli soup, which was extremely hot (warmed up in the micro) and I was unprepared for the fact that I burned my tastebuds badly. When I politely pointed this out, I was told "no guest has ever said that before"... WRONG ANSWER

We came to eat cake, the selection for the day was on a board. Unfortunately my favorite was already out, so I made a waffle, but it tasted good.

A small, clocky restaurant with crooked walls and on the upper floor there was a sofa and a dining area, but it was very comfortable. The service tried very hard to find a place for us because it was very full. The food was also tasty. The only drawback is that there is no card payment

Unfortunately, we didn't like the food that much. The schnitzels were far too thick, not seasoned and apparently not beaten. The fried potatoes also had no taste. At first glance the plates looked great but we weren't convinced by the taste. Unfortunately, we were also served by a sick employee, which we found out afterwards. Of course this isn't so nice. Ambiance is nice. No card payment possible. We were there a year ago and wanted to eat schnitzel, we ordered, received drinks and then after 30 minutes we received the information that there were no more schnitzels. The information should have been received earlier. As a gesture of goodwill, we received drinks on the house. We are all the more disappointed that the food today was unfortunately not good. Too bad.

A nice place to sit comfortably, unfortunately the staff is super unfriendly and doesn't make any effort. The waiting times are outrageous. I was hoping that it would be our new favorite place, unfortunately not at all, we don't want to stay in this negative atmosphere.

First of all, the food we ordered was very good! However, the service was incredible: we walked into the restaurant and said we would sit outside! “Yes, someone is coming soon...” about 20 minutes go by and no one shows up... then I call the store and ask when a waitress might appear. After 3 minutes a lady was there 👉 and complained whether I had just called... she was alone and the shop was full inside, etc. What can I do as a guest for that! If you get hit on when you call the waitress over the phone after 20 minutes, well 🫤 then that's just not that great...

Stumbled upon this place whilst staying in nearby Ratzeburg. Do not miss this place for their cakes. We had three pieces - €4-5 per piece - abricot crumble pie, raspberry cheesecake/tosca (great hybrid) and meringue/strawberry whipped cream (even better)! Great price and even better taste!

What a cute and quaint cafe. Very lovingly decorated inside. It certainly wasn't easy with all the German monument protection requirements. You can get delicious warm meals here. But the cake is awesome. All cakes are baked by the owner herself. And you can just taste it. Sometimes gluten-free etc. Large pieces and the price is reasonable. It is becoming increasingly rare to find such a piece of jewelry. Delicious cocoa and sometimes an honest coffee not from the machine

No rating for ambience or food. Luckily there is a sign right at the entrance that says: No card payments! Well, the old houses suggest a medieval atmosphere - but the fact that this has persisted into the restaurant is a shame.

Very cozy mix of café and small restaurant with coffee and cake, fried potatoes and small dishes for lunch and evening. The service is very attentive, unfortunately there is no card payment. In summer you can sit outside on the market square and on colder days in the restaurant or the small tiled stove room.

Very nice cozy café in a great atmosphere. The cake tasted very delicious. Caught a great spot on the gallery. Despite being advised that the service could take longer due to a lack of staff, we were served extremely friendly and quickly. Absolute recommendation! The only point of criticism could be that the café is a bit hidden and we only saw it by chance (customer stoppers/information boards might be a tip). But it remains an “insider tip”.

The service is a disaster. I like to have a lot of patience, but if you have a staff shortage, you shouldn't also work slowly. I work in a larger café in Hamburg; conditions like those in the café on the market have no chance here.

This marketplace, this great, rustic house! The first impression is that everything is unique and wonderfully crooked and crooked. This house has a long history and has been lovingly restored by its owners. The second impression is the service. She is always polite and courteous and always has a smile on her face despite the large number of guests. The menu is promising, everyone will find something suitable. My strong recommendation is the Mediterranean starter plate, which is definitely suitable as a main course due to its size. It's so delicious that it's the second time I've been here, and I haven't had anything better at an Italian restaurant. What I saw on other guests' plates was also generous and looked very tasty. It's worth taking a walk through the restaurant with your eyes open because you'll find playful details in many corners. My conclusion: Very happy again!

Today we came to this great restaurant spontaneously and by chance. The atmosphere was great, there was a lot of food and it was very tasty and the prices were also completely reasonable. Unfortunately, the slightly older service is not very friendly to every guest. When we entered the restaurant there was no hello, then we were ignored when the drinks were gone and we weren't asked if we wanted to drink anything else..... . The other employees were very friendly and greeted you when you met for the first time or they could say please thank you. So all in all it's a very nice restaurant and we'll be happy to come back, but maybe you should talk to this colleague about being polite. P.S. You probably shouldn't gossip and talk about other colleagues or ex-colleagues in the restaurant - you don't do that in front of other guests.

We often come from Hamburg and are usually enthusiastic about the café, both the service and the food. Even though the food tasted good as always, on our last visit we were shocked and disappointed by how a tattooed colleague shouted at a nice, always friendly waitress and treated her unpleasantly. We and other guests noticed that, it wasn't nice at all. For this reason we are reluctant to enter this café in the future.

The name is pure understatement, there is not "just" - probably - delicious cake here. Probably because the Mediterranean starter plate I chose was so great and filling that I couldn't even eat cake afterwards. No shame, we'll catch up. My husband had the Holsteiner Schnitzel with fried potatoes and was also thrilled and full. However, he still kept glancing at me with envy...and rightly so! A schnitzel like this is a bit boring. The service was great, the prices were surprisingly low and the ambience absolutely suited our taste. Nothing more is possible 😊

Very nice and courteous staff, delicious food

The first impression when you enter the cafe is "wow...how romantic". The food was delicious, but you have to be very hungry for the portions. The price-performance ratio is very satisfactory! We have already recommended it to others and we will stop there again on our next visit to Mölln. It didn't bother us at all that strangers were seated at the table, we immediately had something to talk about!

Ruoka oli todella hyvää. Jouduimme odottamaan ruokaa yli tunnin. Kukaan ei tullut kertomaan, että keittiössä on ruuhkaa. En palaa takaisin.

nettes Cafe in der schönen Altstadt von Mölln freundliche Bedienung Bestellung wurde schnell aufgenommen, aber es dauerte sehr lange bis das Essen serviert wurde, obwohl gar nicht so viel los war. Selbst Kuchen ging lange und die Sahne war verlaufen. Zu lange gestanden? Essen war ok, eher 3.5 Punkte

Sehr schöne Umgebung Nähe des Eulenspiegel- Denkmals. Das Lokal ist sehr klein, aber absolut urig eingerichtet. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich, und das Essen schmeckt!! Auch im Aussenbereich sitzt es sich bei gutem Wetter sehr schön! Rund um den Platz blieb die Zeit stehen-- fast Mittelalter- einfach schön! Wir kommen stets gern wieder!

Ein sehr kleines aber feines Café! Von Süß bis herzhaft. Sehr nettes und freundliches Personal. Das Essen ist sehr gut und wird pünktlich serviert.

Lage und Ambiente sind super. Tolle Speisen

Das Ambiente in diesem alten Haus mitten in der Altstadt von Mölln ist ganz besonders. Überall schiefe Balken und Durchgänge. Selbst die Tische stehen nicht gerade. Auf dem Marktplatz selber erst recht nicht. Damit endet jedoch das schöne Erlebnis. Die Bedienung weiß ganz genau um die schöne Lage und lässt es einen als Gast deutlich spüren, dass man nicht auf jeden Gast angewiesen ist. Das wir eine Stunde auf unser Essen warten mussten, ging gerade noch in Ordnung, weil es in der Karte angekündigt wird. Aber das Essen selbst ist höchstens mittelmäßiges Convinience-Food. Und dann hatte mein Sohn nur eine halbe Portion Nudeln mit Lachs bestellt und wir mussten dennoch den vollen Preis (über 20€) zahlen, weil er nicht aufgegessen hatte. So eine Unverschämtheit. Absolut keine Empfehlung für gutes Essen und eine nette Bedienung.

Total süßes kleines Café, mit sehr viel Charme und gutem Essen . Der Service ist auch immer sehr nett und freundlich, hier gibt es nichts zu meckern!!!

Es ist ein sehr schönes kleines Café, wirklich zu empfehlen. Die selbstgemachten Waffeln schmecken lecker. Wir kommen wieder.

Am ersten Tag war das etwas unglücklich mit der freien Platzwahl. Wir wurden drinnen in einen Raum platziert (wohl um die Wege kurz zu halten), wo sich einige Frauen sehr lautstark unterhielten, was unserem Bedürfnis nach ruhigem Kaffeetrinken entgegen stand. Am Folgetag war alles offen und wir hatten trotzdem wieder dort Platz genommen und es war angenehm. Das Essen ist super, also die Bistroküche und die Torten haben keine Wünsche offen gelassen.
