Café Halle in Hagen

The coffee cups look very dirty. The rooms are filled to the max with tables, so it is very loud and uncomfortable. The food was very good.

Was here for a Christmas party from work. Very tasty food but the acoustics in the hall are not great. Total sensory overload and you could hardly talk to the person you were talking to. Food was absolutely delicious, starter and dessert too. Staff a bit slow at the beginning but then it was great service. Didn't know it existed and will most likely come back privately. It was someone's birthday and the innkeeper came with the organ and serenaded his colleague. Great. Food prices are normal for today but I found 0.3 Pils €3.20 a bit steep. All in all a great evening 🙂

I was there on a Sunday, it was very crowded, lots of walkers. The café's service staff tried hard, but I had the impression that after my friend and I "just" wanted to have a drink, we were then ignored and had to pay inside. I didn't come to eat and didn't say anything... I don't think the ambience and especially the journey is that great, it's on narrow paths where all the walkers have to go. However, the forest is a dream, just no signposted hiking trails, just bridle paths that were quite difficult to walk on.

Habe am Sonntag meinen 70Geburtstag bei Ihnen gefeiert. War aber vorher schon öfter zum Essen oder Kaffeetrinken bei Euch und eigentlich immer zufrieden.Aber wollte gerade die Rechnung in den Abfall werfen und sehe eine Position die mich wütend machte. Mein kleiner Enkel isst gerne Hamburger aber ohne alles nur mit Mayo und Ketchup der kostet mal eben bei Euch Euro 16,90 zzgl 2,00 Euro divKüche also fast 20 Euro für einen Hamburger. Dreister geht es kaum. Also unsere Feiern gehen finden demnächst woanders statt.Kann es immer noch nicht fassen für ein Kinderessen.UNGLAUBLICH

Super delicious food. Grilling the spit roast was a highlight. The waiter was super nice, whenever you had a question there was an immediate answer 😁 I can recommend Café Halle.

The principle of payment should be reconsidered. A minimum purchase quantity for tokens of €20 is outrageous. Especially as a hiker who wants to have a drink, you are clearly in the night area here. Incomprehensible to me. Otherwise nice restaurant.

Very nice excursion restaurant. Super delicious cake. Cocoa, coffee and cold drinks are all great. You can also go here with three generations. We were able to sit outside in very nice weather. But there is also enough space in there.

Update according to owner's statement: I tried ES, the Düsseldorfer Schnitzel and was there, I always have Google tracking on ;-) Local Guide Lvl 5, of course often anonymous because not stupid to write this HONEST review!!! So it's poor to ridicule bad food, customer contact and complaints, and it's even poorer to cover up poor quality by trying to neutralize reviews of LG's with answers... Good luck with that, Cafe Halle... The food was BAD, my HONEST opinion and as someone who often reviews it, I usually have a very positive opinion!!! _____________________________ Sorry, but these “schnitzel” dishes are unfortunately of poor chip shop standard! Definitely a deep freezer, from the metro or SG, but with a tendency towards “bad” smelling pork!!! For over 18 euros, even if there are enough fries, this is one of the worst schnitzels I have eaten within a radius of 1000 kilometers, apart from the extra charge for "gratinated cheese"! P.S. : I know that EVERY review is answered here, but it's like on Ebay, trying to hide bad goods and asking questions, I don't answer them! It was really the most expensive, but worst schnitzel I've wanted to eat since 1980 (only the cheap fries were left on the plate to fill me up)!

Waiting time ok. Prices not ok. NO change possible because the operator cannot be reached, even after a friendly wave and address!!! For a convenience product, pre-prepared and FROZEN only means fried on site is absolutely overpriced. Even the few grams of fresh lettuce don't hide that. It's a shame, I'm also curious to see whether this sincere REVIEW will be answered badly by the owner... If this happens, I will also contact GOOGLE about this procedure. If you deal with legitimate CRITICISM and FREEDOM OF OPINION like this...

Typical German food, great quality and delicious recipes. The staff was very friendly and did their best to ensure that we and our children had a good time. Highly recommended!!

Enjoyed delicious food in the beer garden. Service actually friendly. Unfortunately, a salad wasn't served enough with the meal. Only after 5 times! Remember, this was delivered later. Unfortunately, everyone had already eaten the main course and even the plates had already been cleared away. There was no apology.

Round birthdays, company parties, Sunday dinners, much more often a cyclist on long hikes in the summer and tea with rum in the winter - always satisfied and happy that the operator persevered through the difficult corona times. Thank you very much and continued success.

Always like to stop here during a hike. Spit roast grilling is also great! Very good - sometimes very crowded, but everything still works very well!

I visited Cafe Halle with some friends and our schnitzels were really great! The portions are also very generous for the price. I was also very impressed with the cream of mushroom soup. The taste is really great! However, we would have liked a larger selection of desserts. For example, a waffle with cherries and ice cream, Kaiserschmarn or pancakes would go very well with such a restaurant. I would also like friendlier service staff. Nevertheless, we would like to come back.

Here are a few more words 😉. We were there with a larger group and were immediately greeted warmly and the drink request came quickly and our wishes were promptly fulfilled. I can only recommend the chilled country beer. For dinner we chose spit roast with coleslaw and tzatziki. The treat is that we had to shoot it ourselves. Under expert guidance, we then sat around the fireplace and prepared our meal. The temperatures were bearable (I was told). The meat and filling were delicious and so was the coleslaw and tzatziki. The ice-cold beer 🍻 was delicious. All in all a lovely few hours with very friendly and efficient staff.

This café is beautifully located in the countryside, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Just under 10 minutes by car from the Phillipshöhe relaxation forest. The visit was random and chosen via Google search. Definitely worth it for a good selection of homemade cakes and the nice service. The menu still has a lot to offer that we will definitely like to try on one of our next visits.

Café Halle - a special place for special pleasures. Enjoying nature and being pampered with the best food and drinks makes you forget the noisy city. Highly recommended - especially when fresh bread is baked over fire in the large wood-burning oven.

Top service and delicious potato pancakes - all you can eat - with Franky's Landbier on Saturday combined with a great 10 km hike from Hagen-Vorhalle via Wetter back. Pure relaxation! 🎉🥾

Went to Café Halle today with our day care guests (12 people). I made a reservation in advance, contact was completely uncomplicated and I received a quick response. First of all, thank you! When we arrived with our seniors we were warmly welcomed, we were able to sit outside thanks to the nice weather, we were immediately provided with seat cushions, it smelled of freshly baked bread, we were lucky that we came today and so everyone even bought fresh bread there Our day care guests were all very happy to accept this and everyone was excited to come to the bread stand. Here we were advised by a very friendly employee about consumption and storage. Bread was bought, then we enjoyed drinks and the delicious cake. The service was very polite, all wishes were fulfilled - we say thank you - our day care guests were thrilled with the cake and the ambience and enjoyed their time at Café Halle. We already have the next reservation at Café Halle and are looking forward to coming back.

It's definitely worth going there. On Saturdays there are delicious grated cookies. On another day there is freshly baked bread. Simply delicious

Location with rural charm. Here you can walk a few meters after eating. Rustic atmosphere and friendly service. Food was delicious. There are also daily offers. Parking lots available. Here's a note about Cafe Halle's reaction to my review, that my review doesn't fit the description. It is my subjective assessment, which not everyone has to share. Basically a snapshot that shouldn't be overrated in comparison to other experiences.

A very nice place although it is somewhat hidden but the place is wonderful in the middle of the forest

You just have to be the best among the bad. We were there on May 1st with our bikes around 12.30 p.m., had a drink and something to eat. So first I sat down and waited, waited and waited. During the long wait I couldn't see any system as to how the service staff operate, the principle of chaos prevails. At some point after 20 minutes our order was taken, there was an orange juicer outside with oranges (we'll get to that later) so we ordered drinks and also a FRESH orange juice. After another 20 minutes the drink came, and the orange juice from a 0.2 bottle. We then had it returned because it was still originally sealed and we were looking forward to a fresh one. After half of the drinks were drunk, we were finally able to order the food. The food was very good, but took another 30 minutes (it was nothing special or extensive). After the food was eaten, we wanted to pay since we had already been there long enough. It took 35 minutes between the first request for payment and the final payment. The wife and child were already impatient and already went ahead. And now it comes, there was a 0.2 bottle of orange juice on the bill, which I didn't want to pay for because we didn't consume it. After a little hiccup, the item was canceled from the invoice and at the same time I was banned from the house because I didn't want to pay for what I didn't drink, you can also make money that way. So my question is, is the catering industry doing so well that you can afford something like that? I remained friendly and patient until the end, but in the last 30 seconds I became louder but matter-of-factly because I couldn't believe what people were being banned from here for. If there are not enough service staff available, why put so many tables? Money is great, but is greed so great? Edit after answer from the owner: we didn't ask for fresh juice, but ordered one from the service person because we saw the machine. At no point during the order did the service person say that there wasn't any.

Rural inn with real, tasty home cooking. The service was very friendly, the atmosphere was simple but functional. The sanitary facilities were very clean, and even though there was a large group there, they quickly made room for us. You definitely feel welcome!

You are in this restaurant for 2 minutes, ask for the toilet and get a stupid comment from the owner(?) behind the counter. Given the pork schnitzel prices range from €23 and up, you can go somewhere cheaper and friendlier.

Super nice staff, friendly, helpful, accommodating, best service, the food is great, the price is cheap for what is on offer, freshly baked cakes of various kinds, also on weekdays and not just on weekends, the owner is very nice as is the staff and very accommodating, plans the festivities in advance and is very supportive, excellent and has great ideas for the planned event, the ambience is a bit old, but that doesn't bother you too much, the café offers e.g. It is also an excellent place for groups to arrange celebrations of all kinds, there is an incredible variety of catering options for celebrations of all kinds, a separate hall is available especially for this purpose, the café is idyllically located in the middle of the field, and there are hiking trails all around Opportunities, including for short "digestive walks", the café also offers a large, I'm writing sun terrace with lots of seating, where you can enjoy the excellent location outside when the weather is good. Special events are also offered, which are also great, additional ones You can find out exactly when offers are taking place on the website. Parking is available directly on site... Café Halle is highly recommended, stopping here for a short break, to go out for a meal, to host a celebration or simply Enjoying a little break from everyday life is never a mistake! After the "schnitzel" we both felt very sick a few hours later (the schnitzel with some cheese and red berries) and brought the expensive menu into the toilet. The night was just STOMACH PAIN... NEVER AGAIN, was frozen and thawed for a long time, OLD meat??? Update after reply: You have problems with our german language ??? You hate people who don't speak perfect GERMAN??? Food was BAD, FIRST TIME BAD in Germany so: CONGRATULATIONS, first bad feedback! Very bad behavior, never had that before. If a menu is BAD, it`s the way to WARN others, not in Germany, foreigner hater ???

We stopped in there for dinner today after a walk. We had reserved, got there way too early and still got a table straight away! The food was very tasty (grater cakes and schnitzel), the service was very friendly! Very good price/performance ratio! We'll definitely come back again, and we'd love to go to the beer garden when the weather is nice!

If you want to wait a long time for your table despite having a reservation and then wait even longer for your food, this is the place for you. If I don't have any staff, I'm not allowed to allocate all the tables

Wir waren auf der Silvesterfeier 2023/2024 Gäste. Von der Organisation, Durchführung und vom Service her sehr sehr gut 👍 Das Buffet war sehr gut und reichlich. Es wurde permanent nachgelegt. 💪 Der DJ hat ebenfalls einen super Job gemacht. Dankeschön für den tollen Abend 🙏

Wir waren zum Spanferkelessen gestern mit der ganzen Familie da. 13 Personen. Wir sind extra aus Aachen angereist. Es war ein super schönes Event. Alle sehr freundlich und sehr nett. Das Ambiente modern und rustikal, wir fanden es richtig schön. Und zum Schluss das gesammte Essen war einfach super lecker und das Spanferkel saftig, die Kruste so wie Sie sein soll und der Geschmack einmalig. Wir werden ganz bestimmt wieder am Spanferkelessen nächstes Jahr teilnehmen. Empfehlenswert auf der ganzen Linie. Viele Grüsse aus Aachen

Wir waren gestern mit der ganzen Familie aus der Region Aachen angereist. Es war unser erstes aber definitiv nicht unser letzter Besuch. Wir waren alle voll und ganz zufrieden. Sehr freundlich alle und der Chef immer einen lustigen Spruch zur richtigen Zeit. Das Spanferkel und alles andere was ihr aufgetafelt habt war einfach nur ein Gedicht. Auch das selbstgemachte Brot was der Cef meinem Sohn zum Tisch brachte. Alles schön sauber obwohl es voll war. Einzige kleine Manko ist die Parksituation aber das ist nicht schlimm. Das Ambiente ist im alten Teil ....schon echt ein wenig altbacken....da ist Luft nach oben! Das Essen war gut und besonders der Kuchen ein Highlight..... Bei der Bedienung sehe ich auch noch Luft nach oben.....die Bestellungen haben bis zum Tisch schon recht lange gedauert. Wenn nicht gerade ein Feiertag bzw. viel los ist kann man dort gut essen gehen.

Wie immer ein tadelloses Essen und eine Top Bedienung. Auch wenn es mal etwas voller ist. Der Service leidet nicht darunter. Wir sind immer wieder gerne hier.

Essen bei Familienfeier genau so wie bestellt .....reichlich ...und lecker Service super freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Auf Empfehlung zum Reibekuchen essen dort gewesen. Gemütliches und großzügiges Ambiente (wir saßen draußen). Die Bedienung war sehr flott da und hat alle Bestellungen aufgenommen. Dann hat es über eine Stunde gedauert bis das Essen serviert wurde, welches an diesem Tag sowieso als Motto angeboten wurde. Sowas kann ich nicht verstehen. Man produziert doch ständig nach und überfüllt (Gäste) war das Café alle Male nicht. Weiterhin ist die Parksituation ein Unding und in meinen Augen eine Frechheit. Man bezahlt viel Geld und muss sich dann noch auf unbefestigten engen Straßen einen Parkplatz suchen, wovon es viel zu wenig gibt. Andernfalls nimmt man einen langen matschigen Fußweg in Kauf. Wir kommen nicht mehr wieder.

Sehr beliebt , mitten im Grünen , auch immer kleine Events, man wird immer freundlich und gut bedient , Preis/ Leistung ist sehr gut 👍 Tierfreundlich Kuchen ist auch lecker 😋

Ob zum Cafe oder zum Essen .. immer oben dabei ! Die Waldgaststätte "Cafe Halle" ist ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen, moderne & gut bürgerliche Küche und ein uriges Gasthaus , sowie ein großer neuer Anbau und der Biergarten laden zum Verweilen ein. Es gibt viele Events auf Cafe Halle. Der Service ist nett und zuvorkommend, an stressigen Tagen manchmal etwas langsam, aber dennoch akzeptabel. Das Essen ist sehr gut, wird frisch zubereitet und die Speisekarte wird von Saisonalen Köstlichkeiten unterstützt. Als "Highlight" kann man die Tage bezeichen anden es frisches Brot und Stuten aus dem eigenen Holzbackofen gibt. Zur Kaffeezeit gibt es selbstgebackene Kuchen und manchmal auch Torten.

Das Essen ist Lecker und reichlich. Der Service ist leider schlecht. Lange Wartezeiten. Team scheint nicht eingespielt zu sein.

Nach einem Spaziergang kann man sich gut ausruhen um etwas zu essen oder zu trinken. Ein gemütlicher Biergarten, lädt dazu ein.

Wir waren mit Voranmeldung zum Reibeplätzchen essen dort. Essen war wirklich gut und lecker und frisch 😋 Trotz der vielen jungen Leute im Service war alles okay. Was jedoch sehr schade war das der Raum in dem wir waren schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist und ein wenig neue Farbe an den Wänden vertragen könnte. Der Boden war arg dreckig, leider. Schade dass anscheinend niemand Zeit hatte einmal durch zu fegen 🤷 So ist zumindest an der Stelle noch etwas Luft nach oben 😉 Ansonsten gerne wieder 👍

kann leider nicht empfohlen werden. Geplant war ein Essen mit ca. 15 Personen im Dezember. Die im September aufgegebene Reservierung für Dezember wurde kurzerhand im Oktober, quasi heute, per Anruf vom Inhaber als nicht existent deklariert. Ein Gastronomiebetrieb ist nicht in der Lage eine Buchung ordentlich zu vermerken - und das sogar nach mehrmaligen Telefonten??!!! Ein echtes Armutszeugnis. Angeblich hätte man für heute einen Termin gebucht und der Inhaber wolle wissen, was er denn heute so anbieten solle...a la Carte Essen oder Grillbuffet. Heute Mittag wird für angeblich heute Abend nachgefragt??? Sorry, aber man muss sich nicht an der Nase herumführen lassen. Das ist das kundenunfreundlichste was mir je untergekommen ist und erweckt den Anschein, dass es wohl lukrativere Buchungen gegebenen hat und man kurzerhand vom Inhaber einfach mal so ausgeladen wird. Gastfreundlich sieht anders aus!!!

Freundlicher Service Tolles Essen Einzigartige Umgebung Besonders ist der große Aussenbereich zu loben

Essen super kann man nichts sagen, deswegen waren wir auch nicht zum ersten Mal und auch nicht zum letzten Mal im Cafe Halle. Aber es steht und fällt mir der Bedienung mussten wir feststellen. Die alteingesessenen Mitarbeiter scheinen mehr daran interessiert miteinander am Getränkebuffet zu quatschen, als sich tatsächlich mit den Gästen zu befassen, gefühlte Ewigkeiten warten wir immer wieder auf die Getränke, und auch auf die Speisekarten, ebenso auf die Rechnung. Vor ein paar Monaten hat eine neue Servicekraft angefangen und wir sind jedes Mal positiv überrascht, man möchte meinen allein ihre Anwesenheit trägt dazu bei, das alles etwas besser fluppt, keine Warterei auf die Karte oder Getränke und sie gibt einem als Einzige das Gefühl wirklich als Gast willkommen zu sein...schade das es nicht immer so funktioniert.

Wir waren jetzt schon ein paar mal da und haben immer wieder festgestellt, das man NICHT als Gast behandelt wird. Erster Besuch...Getränke dauern...Speisekarte wird grundsätzlich erst mit den Getränken gebracht. Man hätte ja schon mal vorher reinschauen können :-( Bei Nachfrage...schnippische Antwort...die bringe ich IMMER erst mit den Getränken!! Nächste Besuch...erst Getränke...dann ewig nichts...dann kommt der Kuchen.. Fragt man nach, wieder eine schnippische Antwort. Ja, was wollen Sie den jetzt??...erst den Kuchen oder erst die Getränke!! (ja, wäre schön beides zusammen) Also hier hat der Kellner bzw. die Kellnerin das Sagen und nicht der Gast. Das muss einem klar sein!! Ich habe die sämtliche Bewertungen gelesen und viele sagen, was die Bedienung anbelangt, das gleiche. Unfreundlich!!! Wieso ändert der Chef da nichts dran? Anscheinend läuft der Laden auch so und die haben es nicht nötig. Etwas positives: Das Brot und der Kuchen sind Weltklasse!!! Die Karte ist überschaubar. Sehr fleischlastig...aber ich denke, das wollen die Leute halt haben. Die Portionen sind groß.
