Brunch is great! A wide selection and very tasty. Waiting times for à la carte dishes are extremely long. Even at breakfast, you wait forever before you can order. After we said we wanted to pay, we had to wait 35 minutes. Dinner has declined significantly. We used to enjoy coming here, but it really hasn't been that great for the last two or three years. The schnitzel was soggy.

The ambiance was nice, clean, and cozy. The Thai curry bowl, unfortunately, wasn't very spicy. Otherwise, it was very tasty. I would have liked a bit more attention to empty drink glasses.

We went here for breakfast, and all the rolls were sold out in no time. The salmon and scrambled eggs were empty. Refills were also slow. The end result was that I didn't get a roll. The service keeps forgetting drinks and doesn't clear dirty plates. So, I definitely won't be back.

Nice shop with plenty of parking and a good location. The drinks arrived at our table within 5 minutes of ordering. Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for the food, and the shop wasn't really busy.

We were there today for Sunday brunch. The rolls and the very limited cold cuts were constantly empty. Everything was replenished at a snail's pace, if at all. The hot dishes were all frozen and very, very poorly prepared. The waiters didn't even clear away the dirty plates. We didn't get a second drink because there was no one to serve us. The ambiance of the restaurant is also very dated. The walls and floor are incredibly dirty. My conclusion: never again.

A Café del Sol is always our first choice when we want to have a delicious breakfast.

The food and conditions were wonderful. Everyone was very polite. The men's restroom, however, could use a complete renovation, and the ceiling could also be vacuumed.

September 12th, 2025, there were three of us here this morning. There were only three staff for the large restaurant. It was a bit of a workout, but the staff were attentive and super friendly at all times. The food was also delicious and the price-performance ratio and ambience were all well matched. For people who have vented their frustration here, you probably haven't really worked a job in your life; think about what you write. And think about what the guys and girls here do. Just enjoy your time and stop complaining. Better yet, tell the staff personally what bothers you. Or even better, do it better yourself. Once again, big praise to the team, thank you for the lovely time with you this morning.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻We'd love to come back.

I'm giving a rating overall. The chef is left out. After everyone had returned from vacation, we wanted to celebrate two friends' birthdays last Friday. Everything was fine until the food arrived. After that, we were hardly noticed. The waitress asked once if everything was OK. After that, we were simply ignored. She walked past the table several times and didn't clear it. Our glasses had been empty for an hour. The terrace was no longer well occupied by this time. I was simply not satisfied that evening. So I decided not to leave a tip this time because the service was simply not up to scratch. When I was paying, I had something around €18 to pay. I gave the lady €20. If I had wanted to tip, I would have said it's fine. But I didn't. The waitress then said is that okay? And I didn't answer. I would have said yes if it had been someone else. From that moment on, things got even worse. I wanted to mention Estonia to our visit and she looked at me strangely at first. When I asked why no one was paying attention to me anymore, she seriously asked me what my question was. And I asked again why the empty glasses and full tables were being overlooked. We wanted something to drink, but nobody came. She simply put it down to being too busy. It was empty outside by then, and inside too. When I wanted to give feedback again, she seemed very annoyed. She left us standing in the middle of a conversation, said goodbye, and left. Nobody is forced to tip, especially when they think they'll get a tip with behavior like that. For what exactly? For being ignored? For their behavior? The only one who deserved one would be the cook. But that was it.

Satisfying fast food, that's all you can expect. The service was nice, but the behavior was comparable to that of a hardware store employee. Shy eyes, avoiding contact with customers, and at the next opportunity, camouflage, deceive, and disappear. I'd rather go to a different restaurant next time that welcomes customers.

There is certainly still something to be done with the brunch (more choice). The acoustics could also be improved a bit, as it is very loud when the place is full on Sundays.

Unfortunately, it's all gone downhill. It's a real shame. I used to love going there. The only nice thing is the ambiance – which has also diminished somewhat since then. The food is unfortunately too bad for the prices. Update July 21, 2023: I went there again yesterday with a friend. The food (burgers) was delicious, and the waitress was very nice and approachable. We didn't lack for anything. It was a lovely evening.

Food was acceptable. Price-performance ratio was OK, but the food wasn't warm enough. This is why it only gets 3 stars. Service was attentive.

From the outside, it had a slightly American feel to it, which I really liked. Some of the furniture was a bit dated. I can't say much about the food; I only had a snack, and it was good. I found the drinks very tasty and refreshing. The only thing I found awful was the restrooms.

Unfortunately, the portions were very small for the price. We ate at Cafe del Sol over Easter and were full and very satisfied. Unfortunately, after tonight, we won't be going back.

There's not much to say about it, you have to find out for yourself. I didn't find it that exciting!

The staff was unfriendly; after the starter, we were passively aggressively told that we were eating too much after a salad. Otherwise, the food was excellent.

We waited more than two hours for our food. Some of the food was cold and burnt.

Our Saturday morning breakfast at Café del Sol in Mönchengladbach. The café was busy around 9:45 a.m., but not overcrowded. There were still plenty of larger tables available (even after we left the café after an hour). The small table assigned to us for two people was very small. Okay... we ordered the breakfast buffet, along with two orange juices, a tea, and a coffee cream. The orange juice came quite quickly, and we waited about 15 minutes for the coffee/tea. The plates were very small; a roll with two slices of sausage and one slice of cheese just fit on it. With the two plates for two people and our drinks, it was barely possible to eat at this small round table. The menus had to be moved under the table beforehand. The empty tables around us were cleared very slowly, or not at all. Unfortunately, on our second round to the buffet, there was no cheese, no Nutella, and no plates left. It was only refilled after some time upon request (with children's plastic plates) (Nutella was apparently out). They also offered yogurt, which was difficult to pour into a bowl using a small spoon. My second order of crema coffee (double portion because the crema cups are very small) also took far too long, so we had actually finished our breakfast long ago. I'm giving it 3 stars because the food on offer was very tasty, which is why I think the food was of good quality. The staff tried hard, but were also very overwhelmed. The noise level was enormous. Of course, I can read a menu to know in advance that our breakfast with 2 orange juices, 1 tea, and 3 crema coffees cost over 50 euros, and I'm happy to spend that much, but then everything had to be right.

The staff is a disaster. We ordered drinks with a group of 12 and they only arrived at the table after 30 minutes. After an hour, we ordered food and waited 2 hours for it and the food didn't arrive correctly. In the end, a meal was missing. I would not recommend the restaurant and would ask you to visit the Jägerhof in Rendahlen.

Hello everyone, We came to your place on Saturday afternoon after our daughter's graduation party. We arrived at 1:30 p.m. The food was served at 3:15 p.m. The restaurant wasn't even busy, which is something I've experienced before. A handful of servers were sitting in front of or behind the counter and initially ignored us. Others at our table asked us, after we asked, where the food was and if we'd been waiting so long! The service was very poor that day! The constantly changing servers is probably also a reason for this. When we paid the bill, they even mentioned that we could leave a tip if we wanted! This was our last visit for a long time.

Ordered Cokes four times, nothing came. Waited an hour for the food. Never again.

Surprisingly good food at this restaurant in Germany that is located right on the highway. There is a lot of space. Not much atmosphere, but great food. An extensive menu. The sandwich with ham is recommended.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with our visit to Café del Sol! That evening, Alex served us; the waitress was arrogantly rude and consistently uninterested! Went there for the first time based on a recommendation. The service was remarkably good. The waiter was great and went out of his way to keep all our ordered drinks chilled and perfectly served. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food that was delivered. I had the Caesar burger with sweet potato fries. You can't grill meat any harder or deader, and it's still served cold. The fries were okay. My companion had mini potatoes with chicken breast strips. You can't go wrong with potatoes, but the chicken strips are still a mystery. No comments. Conclusion: Recommended for a drink. For food, you should consider whether Cafe del Sol is the right place for you.

We were there for brunch. The breakfast buffet was really good. The hot dishes at lunchtime were significantly below average. They weren't really hot. Limited selection and the quality was rather poor. Breakfast is available anytime, but brunch won't be repeated.

We've been to your place about 3-4 times recently. Unfortunately, we noticed that service takes significantly longer than before. Sometimes we had to wait up to 20 minutes for our drinks, and there were times when we sat at our table for about 15 minutes without anyone coming to take our orders – so we had to ask for them ourselves. That's a real shame for a restaurant of your caliber and with your otherwise great offerings. I hope you find a solution soon, because we really enjoy coming to you!

I think it's pretty cheeky to charge €18.90 for a ready-made schnitzel. For that price, you could charge a fresh schnitzel.

We were there for brunch, and the staff's responsibilities were, let's just say, very poor. When we walked in, five of us stood around for five minutes before anyone came to see us. Then no drinks came, and I don't want to beg, and at a buffet-style brunch, there's a lot of dishes that sit on the table for ages. Overall, I've never experienced anything like this at a Café del Sol.

The food isn't exactly fresh, but you can't complain about the taste or the price. Unfortunately, some of the staff aren't very friendly. I recently had bad luck with a lady twice. The first time, I came in at 10:45 a.m. and actually just wanted to order a roll and a portion of scrambled eggs. Yes, I know, just before breakfast ends at 11 a.m. We waited 16 minutes until we were served for the first time; four tables were occupied at that time. The server then said to me, "It's 11:01 a.m., they're no longer serving breakfast." I explained to her that we came in at 10:45 a.m. and had already been waiting longer, but no. She insisted on the time, which, according to her, applies from the time you are served. So I only ordered a coffee, while my companion was able to order an egg sandwich without any problem because it counts as lunch. Totally ridiculous. She was so incredibly rude, taking our order with a rolling of her eyes. The lady was just as rude on our next visit, not saying hello or thank you, and she loudly insulted every guest at the counter.

Visited the outdoor area for lunch on a Saturday. After a while, a server finally came, but they were unable to take our order. We ordered three cold drinks, one ice cream, and one currywurst with fries. After more than 20 minutes, we finally got the drinks. We had to wait another wait for the scoop of ice cream (€4.20) and then for the food. The server, Antonia, was inattentive and didn't even ask if we wanted a second drink. It should also be noted that the outdoor area was moderately busy, so it wasn't due to stress... but do ask if you'd like to leave a tip.

How good a restaurant really is becomes apparent when it comes to its restrooms. Over a month ago, a review here mentioned the smell in the restrooms. They promised to take care of it. I was there today, and the smell in the accessible restroom was unbearable, an outrage!

First of all: We were there with 4 people for Mother's Day brunch, so it was full, which is what we expected, we weren't concerned about time. But the brunch portion was more about quantity than class. That totally disappointed me because I was just looking forward to it. The chicken wings, for example, were only in the oven/fryer for a short time, not a single piece was crispy and the vegetable casserole apparently hadn't even seen the oven, there was a sticky raw egg floating on my plate, which in my opinion isn't possible because of the risk of samonella. This should have been prepared better, even though it is full. However, I have to praise the waiters/waiters, even though it was so busy and hectic, they were all super nice.

I've never eaten such a bad burger for 16 euros. 2 patties, just tasted horrible. Frozen food, I don't even want to know what I ate. I also found the arugula at some point, the owner should be ashamed for basically selling something like that! The service was great, he took my criticism extremely well and did his job really well. The ambience is good. The men's room is like the burger. It was definitely the last time!

A very popular café in Mönchengladbach. The waitresses here are all very nice and friendly. We just drank coffee and ate something. The coffee, i.e. the cappuccino, was very small for the price. But overall everything was fine.

Overall a relaxed atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff, unfortunately understaffed so everything was a bit chaotic. The food is average, but I wouldn't expect more from a place like this, so it's good. With 2-3 more waiters, things would run much better and more attention could be paid to the toilets, refilling soap, and cleanliness. For a relaxed evening with friends where the most important thing is a social get-together in a relaxed atmosphere is definitely recommended 🙂

My wife and I recently had dinner at this restaurant. First of all, I have to say: We were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. You are really warmly welcomed here and feel like you are in good hands, which is unfortunately no longer a given these days. The parking situation was pleasantly uncomplicated, we found a space straight away, which is really helpful for us as older people. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also cozy and clean, you can tell that effort is being made here. However, and this should not be overlooked, the prices have now become quite high. Of course, this is now the case in many places, but if you pay more, you expect corresponding quality and, above all, a reasonable waiting time. Unfortunately we had to wait a relatively long time for our food; we had ordered schnitzel and ribs. After a while my wife became restless and our extremely friendly waitress asked the shift manager, a lady named Schalin, to come to our table. And what can I say: This young woman did her job brilliantly. She personally took time for us, took our dissatisfaction seriously and responded very understandingly. She also explained to us that it was exceptionally crowded that evening, which to be honest we saw. To bridge the waiting time, we were even brought fresh bread with aioli, a small gesture that left a big impression on us. When the food finally came, it tasted good, the schnitzel was nice and crispy, but a little too much for my wife, the ribs could have been a little more tender, but the side dishes were well balanced. It was a bit of a shame that the waiting time spoiled the overall impression, but the really attentive and friendly service made up for it. Conclusion: The prices are not cheap, the wait was long, but you feel welcome here. Thanks to the great service, especially from Ms. Schalin, we will definitely give the restaurant a second chance. Maybe not on such a busy evening.

Disappointing visit – unfortunately not what it once was Unfortunately, my last visit to Café del Sol was very disappointing. The pasta dish was served carelessly on a simple plate and tasted rather boring. The portion was also surprisingly small. The service seemed disorganized and inattentive - our re-ordered bread was completely forgotten. Even the homemade iced tea, once a highlight, now tastes bland and has nothing to do with the quality of bygone times. Overall, the price-performance ratio was absolutely not good. My money is simply too good for what was offered. I won't come back again - what a shame!

We celebrated a friend's birthday there and everything was great. It was my first time there, the staff was super nice and kept coming to the table and asking if we would like anything else. The food came quickly, good portion and super tasty. The drinks are a decent size. Our every wish was fulfilled, the cake we brought with us could be put in the fridge, and even the water for a baby was made warm. Simply great!

The staff is very friendly. Often you wait quite a long time because staff are probably missing. Unfortunately, the menu/dishes are being changed more and more often. For example, there are no longer sunny scrambled eggs with feta cheese for breakfast. We have been regular guests for many years and are really not gluttons, but you can hardly get full anymore and everything is becoming more and more expensive 🙈 Well.. But there is a nice atmosphere both in winter and especially in summer. ☀️

The two of us were there today on a Sunday shortly before 10 p.m. and were greeted in a very friendly manner by “Moha”. He informed us that the kitchen would be closing soon, but was happy to take our order. Moha was super personable, warm and very accommodating with everything.
