Cafe Del Sol Marl in Marl

Standard dishes: burgers, fries, pizza, pasta. Not interesting. Judging by the name, I would like something Spanish (tapas, tortilla, paella) It's not good at all when 40 guests order different dishes at the same time. We had to wait for the food for an hour. The tomato soup was like watered down ketchup - not tasty at all. The teriyaki chicken pinza was also so-so. I don't want to go there again.

Simply good food in a sophisticated atmosphere.

I have always enjoyed going there and today I found the opportunity to visit again, even though I live in Lower Saxony.

Where do I start and where do I stop, from the cold food to the long wait for a cafe, so thanks but no thanks, cafe del sol Marl without me!

The breakfast buffet was very good, as always. The selection was plentiful and everything was delicious. However, the brunch lunch dishes could be better. The selection here was a bit limited. The service was good, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Never again schnitzel, only molded schnitzel. Dessert was completely awful. The frozen Lawa Cake was just mush without a liquid center, ridiculous for €8.50. Cafe Del Sol Gelsenkirchen was top-notch, everything fresh.

The food has deteriorated considerably. For the price, you get a schnitzel that's a patty. The burger is practically a rubber sole. Some food arrives cold at the table. The staff is friendly and genuinely committed to satisfying guests. The soap dispensers in the restrooms are broken. Conclusion: You can come here for a drink, but not for a meal. The manager should think about this. It's a shame that the quality of the food has deteriorated so much.

The food is always delicious. I always eat the Del Sol schnitzel, and I love it. I also think it's great that the portion sizes have increased a bit, reflecting the somewhat high price. That way, you always go home full and happy. The only really annoying thing sometimes is that everything takes a little while there. But it's a huge restaurant.

A really nice café with a great atmosphere. The drinks and menu look good. The matcha ice cream is delicious. Nice, large parking lot that's good for more than just parking.

Basically, like any other Cafe del Sol, the dishes don't taste any better or worse than in other branches. What I did notice, however, is that the service here is much friendlier and more frequent than in other branches ;-) It may have depended on the day, but it wasn't as loud as in others.

I went there again after a long time and ordered a Schnitzel del Sol. I was a bit shocked that it already costs €18.90!! And for what exactly? For two mini schnitzels with a high fat content, rice, and ready-made sauce. The mini salad that came with it contained DRY lettuce leaves with at most two drops of dressing! After complaining, I got a new one right away, but I still find this really embarrassing for the place. You could also call it 'Cafe del Rip-off.' That was the last time for me. And the owner's response, 'The prices are based on the incredibly good quality of the food,' can't be right, given how greasy the mini schnitzels were.' A disgrace

Absolutely terrible service. Despite being at a low occupancy, the staff was overwhelmed and the food was cold and rather poor. For the price, you'd expect much more!

The service was "acceptable." The employees seemed very overwhelmed. I ordered an iced coffee "with two scoops of vanilla ice cream." The iced coffee didn't have two scoops of vanilla ice cream in it; instead, there were shards of glass in the glass.

Such a delicious breakfast, with an incredibly large selection. And even though it was very busy, the lovely waitress was there for everyone. We'll definitely be back.

We came here for breakfast and had a real vacation feeling ☀️ The buffet has a huge selection, and everything was delicious and fresh. I personally recommend ordering a homemade iced tea with it.

I had breakfast there on Sunday. The buffet was extensive. Only the scrambled eggs were a bit cold. The service was exceptionally good. They asked several times if I wanted more drinks. I thought that was great. The farewell was also very warm. It's a pleasure to come here and welcome as a guest.

Great atmosphere, nice staff, sometimes a bit loud but the staff can't help it. The food was always to our satisfaction and especially the house bread was very tasty. I also have to praise the patience and discretion of the waiters there. We sat there a little longer than usual and one table away was a couple who had booked a schnitzel vacation. After round X, the couple said yes, one more round. The waitress brought everything and when she turned around and left, the couple actually unpacked tupperware containers and filled them. The waitress noticed it very quickly and went over to the couple and spoke to the couple very, very quietly. We couldn't understand anything except that this wasn't allowed. I think it's very good that they kept it so discreet. However, the couple didn't care and just stayed put. Personally, it would have been very uncomfortable for me.

We were there at 11 a.m. and of course there were a lot of free seats. Atmosphere is really nice. We felt comfortable.

There are street food shops around the corner that have better quality. Drinks are okay, but there are nicer ways to get gastrointestinal illnesses. For these prices the quality is very poor. It used to be better. Pinsa came relatively cold, chicken was soggy, the dough was burnt and dry. Only a handful of guests were present. The chilli cheeseburger had neither chilli nor cheese. It costs just under 50 euros. Too bad.

I ordered the Thai bowl while eating, I thought 14.50 was a bit too much for the size, 12.90€ would also do the trick, then when I paid the bowl cost 19.40€ because I still had 5 small pieces of chicken with me 😅😅! The price is clearly too high!

Disaster, 1 hour wait for food even though there was hardly anyone there!!! Impossible !! When paying, we were treated unkindly and... yes, sorry, but we've done it now.!!

I visited Café del Sol spontaneously during a business trip and had dinner alone on the outdoor terrace. The ambience is, as usual, typical of Café del Sol – cozy and inviting. After a short time I was greeted warmly by the waitress and was able to order my drink and food straight away. The drink arrived quickly and my dish was served about 10-15 minutes later. It was beautifully presented and tasted convincing - in keeping with the style of the house. All in all, a pleasant and successful visit.

First of all, we had very nice service, the service was generally very good, the food also looked very good and tasted quite good. Unfortunately, I experienced nausea and stomach problems some time after eating, which signaled to me that the food was not of particularly high quality. Unfortunately I won't be able to eat there anymore, so I only give it 1 star

Schnitzel vacation. Selection. Turkey, pork or vegetarian. First portion of schnitzel is large, very tasty and a lot, if there was a 2 portion, it is significantly smaller and the sauce doesn't make it so tasty. Service was great, always friendly and quick. Reservation is required if you want to eat later, it got full after 6 p.m.

Food is great, the acoustics are a disaster.

Everything was great, except for the fact that they didn't tell me that things are different now with the Amore Hearts. You have to show your phone with the app before paying. You can no longer scan the receipt yourself at home. Very annoying, since I had a receipt for over 50 euros yesterday. Amore Hearts given away!

The restaurant is a visual highlight, but unfortunately very loud when there are a lot of people there. The food is ok, the crumbliest croissants of my life, butter and jam are carelessly placed on the plate in plastic pots. The service is really great, you regularly seek contact with the customer without being intrusive!

Went there spontaneously on a Monday evening. There was a table for us and the service was extremely friendly. Unfortunately, like in every Café del Sol branch, the acoustics are extremely, very loud. Maybe acoustic panels on the ceiling could fix that? You really have to yell at each other. For food there was salad and sweet potato fries with hummus. Very, very tasty. However, pomegranate seeds were also advertised. I found about 5 frozen pomegranate seeds on top. Still, always nice here. :)

I probably don't have to write about the ambience of a Café del Sol, but what I would definitely like to emphasize is the experience we have had several times with the service. All the waiters were courteous, friendly and took great care of the guests.

Were here again today for breakfast after a long time. Unfortunately not recommended. Food was quite okay. However, we (3 people) had to wait half an hour for our breakfast. Even reordering a cocoa took almost 15 minutes. Therefore, our visit was unfortunately not very satisfactory. Too bad

The food at del Sol is solid and doesn't disappoint. Unfortunately, the Wild Chicken Burger and the Schnitzel Pinsa were taken off the menu. Very unfortunate. The service is always very friendly. The background noise is always very loud, but that doesn't stop since the del Sol offers a lot of seats.

Of course I can do that when everything is occupied...it's very loud...but it's like that everywhere...otherwise it's very comfortable there...on the benches and armchairs, the chairs with the backs are not so good...because I'm a bit more stable, they do hurt on the sides

Two people were there the day before yesterday! The menu was ok... I read César Salad Jo 10.90. My friend asked the waitress if we would like this salad (pictured). The waitress says yes to our César salad. And ordered! I ordered a small amount of water and my girlfriend ordered a spritzer. Wanted to pay separately. Then the new waiter tells me 19.80 Wow... how much does the water cost 8 euros or what? Nope... he answered very cheekily... that's the César salad and the chicken comes extra! What a quarter of an iceberg with some cheese costs 10.90 He cheekily said “clear”. I don't care what you think!! Green boy with eggshells behind his ears. Outrageous for a bit of iceberg and a bit of cheese, when I say a bit then it was a bit over 10 euros This is not my first César. But green salad and some cheese is not César. (According to the waitress, the salad in the picture was a César. It was a complete impudence to charge 5 euros for the 4 pieces of meat Never, ever again.... I'll go to the restaurant for that money. And the waiter was cheeky!!! That was my last visit! Can fool others

Tonight was really nice in the Café del Sol in Marl. The young woman named Sandy who served us was very, very friendly and cheerful. She often asked if everything was okay at the table and if we were okay. That was so great and we always had a nice exchange. We had already told her that we thought it was great and would write a good review. We would have loved to hug each other. The food was good too... Thanks for the great evening. I come from Buer and will definitely go back to Marl.

Three people met us there. Cold cocoa, cappuccino doesn't deserve the name, and also cold. Burger BBQ with bacon a disaster. Half cold, impossibly fried. 3 espressos were served at the house's expense, as both food and hot drinks were hard to enjoy. Never stop here again. The Cafe del Solist in Marl. This is also evident from the receipt.

We had a really good time! Waiter Mayko served us and was a really nice guy – super accommodating, super nice and really made us laugh all the time 😂 It's rare to experience such great service. We'll definitely be back! 5 stars :)

The inside of the place looks beautiful with a chilled atmosphere. Unfortunately, it's pretty *very* loud. I ordered three things, a BBQ bacon burger menu with sweet potato fries and nachos. I received a burger that had a taste explosion comparable to canned beans and was just to cry. Instead of sweet potato fries I got normal potato fries and the nachos didn't even arrive. I had to order the nachos, they are served cold with a cold sauce, I can count the number of nachos on one hand and for €4 it's just a shame. Service was very friendly, bread as a starter is fantastic.

The food is OK, but what you pay for it is definitely too high. Half a pinsa is for the hollow tooth. You can get a larger piece of pizza for less money at every fair. The mini schnitzels, even if there are two of them, are all the same. Look like frozen schnitzel. Real schnitzels look different. I won't go there again.

Very good! Fresh and crispy potatoes. Burger was very good with cucumbers. I liked! I was expecting a Cesar salad, but to my surprise, it came with delicious pasta. I liked!

What bothered me most was that practically all of the free tables were not clean. We'll probably just clear the table. There were also lots of leftover food on the floor and under the tables. I think that given these high prices, you should pay a little more attention to things like this. At least the waitresses are always nice and friendly.

My husband and I went there on our lunch break. Unfortunately, we immediately regretted this. We had almost 2 1/2 hours for food and drinks. We ordered something to drink, which came very quickly (it's not an art thing). Then we ordered something to eat straight away... and from then on it went downhill... after 1 1/2 hours we asked where our food was. The waiter said kindly that it would definitely come soon. Fact! It also came immediately... Cold and unseasoned. The noodles were totally overcooked, cold and not seasoned a bit. My husband's burger was also cold, dry and so were the fries. The table next to us had also been complaining amongst themselves and the lady at the table happened to have the same pasta. And she also confirmed that the noodles turned out absolutely nothing. When we spoke to us, we were only given a waiver of drinks (1x cola, 1x water) but we had to pay for the food. Unfortunately, this has happened several times now. Unfortunately we will no longer visit this Café Del Sol.

We always enjoying coming here. It is petfriendly, so sometimes we stop by for lunch with our dog after a walk. Service is always fast and friendly. Food is delicious, highly recommend the burgers and chips!

I recently visited Café Del Sol and I have to say that I was really disappointed by the prices for water. In my opinion, €7.40 for a 0.75 liter bottle of water is absolutely overpriced, especially when you consider that a whole box with 12 bottles of Gerolsteiner water (also 0.75 liter per bottle) retails for just €5.99 costs without deposit. How can it be that a bottle in a café costs more than a whole case in the store? Of course I understand that there are surcharges in a restaurant, but such a price difference is incomprehensible to me. Unfortunately, it leaves a very negative impression and I would like to see more realistic prices set here.

Ich war kürzlich zu Besuch im Café Del Sol und muss sagen, dass mich die Preise für Wasser wirklich enttäuscht haben. 7,40 € für eine 0,75 Liter Flasche Wasser ist meiner Meinung nach absolut überteuert, besonders wenn man bedenkt, dass ein ganzer Kasten mit 12 Flaschen Gerolsteiner Wasser (ebenfalls 0,75 Liter pro Flasche) im Einzelhandel gerade mal 5,99 € ohne Pfand kostet. Wie kann es sein, dass eine Flasche im Café mehr kostet als ein ganzer Kasten im Einkauf? Natürlich verstehe ich, dass es in einem Restaurant Aufschläge gibt, aber ein solcher Preisunterschied ist für mich nicht nachvollziehbar. Es hinterlässt leider einen sehr negativen Eindruck und ich würde mir wünschen, dass man hier etwas realistischere Preise ansetzt.

Pleasant atmosphere, it feels indeed like in America. Very nice terrace with swings, trees and plants. Food was delicious. I tried Aglio pasta with extra shrimps.

Ambiance like in every Café del Sol but the food is significantly worse than in all the others. I go to Del Sol all the time but nowhere is the food as miserable as here. Now for the second time in a row I got coal briquettes instead of schnitzel. Really miserable 😒
