I almost never write bad reviews, but today the following disaster happened… From the outside and inside, it's a visually appealing place with a good atmosphere and some parking spaces out front. We were greeted warmly by a lady from Hungary. We asked if we could sit at the round table. After she gave us permission, we went to the table and met another colleague there who also confirmed that we could sit there. We sat down and looked at the menu, but suddenly an agitated, bald man came out of the kitchen and said we absolutely had to get up and couldn't sit there. He ordered us in a commanding tone to sit somewhere else. We told him that we had been offered this table and that we didn't want to sit anywhere else. But this man wouldn't listen to reason and kept repeating the same sentence in a very peculiar tone. It's worth mentioning that it was 4:00 PM and the place was only about 20% full. Since he was completely inflexible and unfriendly, we decided to leave. We then went to another restaurant and received a very warm welcome. We know it's difficult to find good staff, but I advise everyone against visiting this restaurant when that bald man is there. A bad mood is practically guaranteed. I eat at restaurants all over the place every day, but I've never experienced anything so ridiculous. As the owner, I would know what to do. Reply to your feedback: The menu practically fell out of our hands when we said we were going somewhere else, and your shift manager even contemptuously wished us a nice Sunday. Thank goodness the Maybach was still warm, and we found a nice restaurant downtown. It's a shame, really, because your establishment made a good impression, but unfortunately, you can't maintain that with this person. Best regards.

The Krombacher on tap arrived quickly and was perfectly chilled. The Pinsa Verdure was served on a wooden board with a kind of poultry shears. Very practical for cutting the pinsa into bite-sized strips without damaging the board with a knife. The pinsa dough was crispy and light, and the toppings were ample. The feeling of fullness was just as satisfying. To finish, three scoops of world-class ice cream crowned the culinary experience. Due to the open-plan design, the atmosphere is quite noisy and offers little privacy. Therefore, it's better suited for group visits or for social gatherings with friends and acquaintances.

Excellent value for money, super friendly and attentive service and ample parking – overall we were very pleased.

The à la carte breakfast was a bit limited and disappointing for us, as we're mostly vegetarians. We much preferred the buffet breakfast (only on Saturdays). There's something for everyone, and we felt very comfortable in the atmosphere, especially since it wasn't too crowded that day. The staff were all very friendly, and we felt well looked after.

The recent reviews had me hesitant, so I'm glad I went myself. We were very satisfied; the atmosphere was great, the staff were very friendly, the food was delicious, and there was hardly any wait. I'd gladly come again.

A very interesting restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The staff was very friendly. I received a very generous portion of my favorite dish.

The food was tasty, but: When it was brought to the table, a small bowl of ketchup fell and splashed onto my colleague's jacket. My colleague wasn't informed about this, and there was no apology. During our meal, the ketchup wasn't cleaned up from the floor and was simply ignored by the staff. Another colleague ordered extra mayo with his fries. Even after asking for it, it wasn't brought. Several people ordered bottled drinks, and everyone had to empty their freshly opened glasses because there was still several millimeters of dishwater in each one. We hope it was just dishwater; at least the glasses were clean and the liquid was clear. After the meal, the tables weren't cleared promptly, so we were left sitting at full tables for ages. Since the restaurant wasn't even crowded at the time, the tables should have been cleared quickly. PS: The colleague who's still waiting for his mayo has also been waiting for his sweet potato fries for two years. Back then, after asking for them, they brought regular fries, which were then charged for as well.

This single star in the overall rating at least partially reflects the quality of the food, which is actually quite good in the end. Unfortunately, a quick visit on a Thursday evening quickly turns into a marathon. Waiting 1.5 hours for just a few minutes of eating. The staff probably can't be blamed – it seems to be a fundamental structural problem. It's a shame, but it's not worth it for a quick bite. Ideally, you should bring plenty of time and be persistent; then you might get a second drink. But we won't be going back...

Disappointing and unprofessional – Never again! My experience at Café del Sol Magdeburg was extremely disappointing. After our arrival, we were ignored for a full 15 minutes. Several employees standing near us seemed more interested in their cell phones than in attending to waiting guests. This is absolutely unacceptable in the restaurant industry. When a server finally arrived, the only response was a curt, "Oh, you were completely overlooked." While this admission of inattention is honest, it's no substitute for good service. The matcha we ordered was the next disaster: It was scalding hot and tasted simply disgusting and overcooked. It wasn't enjoyable, but rather an annoyance. Overall, the price-performance ratio at this restaurant is completely off. When you have to wait forever as a customer and the staff's cell phones are their top priority, you don't feel welcome. We will definitely not be visiting this café again.

I was invited to a reception for my colleague's 60th birthday a few weeks ago and arrived with mixed feelings, as some reviews weren't so good. However, I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the excellent service provided by our waitress, Maybrit. My order and the other guests' meals were always served quickly and perfectly. The food was delicious, and my colleagues' dishes also looked very appetizing. I will definitely eat there again with my family. Thanks again to Maybrit!

The food was awful... Well, the fries were the best thing about the place, and they were absolutely fantastic!! Unfortunately, we were on a schnitzel holiday... The schnitzel was completely soggy. That's no way to make a schnitzel. The turkey was cut with very short fibers, and because the breading was soggy, the meat practically fell apart on the plate. The tomatoes in the salad had cores in them, a clear indication that quality isn't a priority. The service was quick and friendly. But! How amazing were those fries!

The ambiance is typical of all Cafe de Sol locations. Reservations are recommended. The service was quick, but then... One dish arrived, while the other was delayed. No one checked on our order or asked if everything was alright. When my husband finished eating, I politely asked if my food was on its way. They then searched for it and prepared it. Unacceptable! All I got was an apology, no discount, and nothing else. We went there together, and everyone ate at different times – unbelievable! We also observed staff running around haphazardly with food, seemingly unsure which table it belonged to. This raises the question: is there something wrong with the organization/flow? The music was too loud; with more than four guests, normal conversation was nearly impossible. The restrooms were another highlight. The first one couldn't be locked from the inside and was dirty. The second one had a light that kept flickering on and off. We've been to other Cafe de Sol locations, so it's safe to say that improvements are needed.

In my opinion, this is the worst restaurant I've ever been to in Magdeburg. While the waiters were friendly, the system was apparently malfunctioning, resulting in the cake arriving without cream, only one piña coladas instead of two, and two large chicken teriyaki pinsas instead of one small and one large. With only four people at our table, the whole experience felt chaotic, regardless of who arrived or when. At least everything arrived after we asked. The pinsas were served cold, although one was warmed up upon request. My brother-in-law thoroughly enjoyed the schnitzel we ordered, and the burger was also good. The drinks were fine. The ambiance is quite nice, but the restrooms are only partially usable; the sink drain in the women's room was almost completely clogged. Colleagues also told me beforehand that Cafe del Sol had declined in quality, and I certainly won't be going back.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Poor value for money. The children's plate consisted of a ready-made schnitzel with fries. No vegetables, despite requesting them, no sauce, and all for €8. The food was generally delivered lukewarm; it wasn't freshly prepared, just frozen food that was being processed there. Service was friendly and quick, despite the store being full. Overall, we wouldn't eat there again as a family. The price was very high for the quality of the food.

We were a group of four and went out for dinner. The restaurant had a great ambiance and a pleasant atmosphere. The food was good, although I was a bit disappointed to find out that they no longer offer the 1-meter pizza. I've been visiting this place for the past five years.

I always enjoy coming here. But today I felt a bit ripped off. I had a large cappuccino with my meal today. The bill was then deducted for two cappuccinos at €4.30 each, equaling €8.60. When I asked why they were deducting the price for two cappuccinos, the answer was: they're two small ones, which makes one large one. I eat out often, even in expensive restaurants, but I've NEVER paid €8.60 for a cappuccino. €4.30 is expensive, but €8.60 is extortionate and cheeky!

We went to the brunch buffet at Café del Sol in Magdeburg. As far as I know, the buffet runs until 1 p.m., but we arrived around 12 p.m., so we were still within the time limit. What I found disappointing was that even though we paid full price, many items, both hot and cold, were only about half-stocked. Many were empty or only partially restocked. I fully understand that it's difficult to stagger prices based on the time of day. But if you charge the same price, the selection should be complete until the end. Otherwise, it just doesn't feel fair. It's a shame, because the ambiance is really nice, but unfortunately, it wasn't a complete brunch experience.

Nice restaurant, changing specials like schnitzel day. A very good selection of different dishes and drinks (nothing run-of-the-mill). It's a great place to linger. Unfortunately, there's one waitress (named Dörte) who didn't choose her profession. The Moaning Morty in Harry Potter is 1,000 times friendlier than this lady.

Food was cold, chicken burger was undercooked, hair in the food, and the waiter only came to the table after being told to. The food was unfortunately very disappointing, but at least the waiter responded well to the criticism. However, the shift manager (Moritz) reacted very rudely and withdrew the waiter's offer to cancel the meal. Thanks, Moritz, we won't be coming again.

The Café del Sol on Markgrafenstraße has a lovely, cozy ambiance, inviting both for a meal and a relaxing break. The spacious interior with its warm lighting makes a particularly positive impression. The food was solid and tasty, though not outstanding. Prices are within the usual range, and the portions were reasonable. The service was friendly, but the flow seemed a bit uncoordinated at times, so you'll need some patience. One minor criticism: I had the impression that some hygiene aspects of the kitchen could be improved. I also noticed that wasps occasionally hang around, which somewhat spoils the overall impression. Overall, a decent visit—neither bad nor particularly outstanding. Anyone looking for a relaxed meal in a pleasant atmosphere will certainly find what they're looking for here. Another advantage is the good transport links.

We went to Café del Sol for dinner today (Sunday). We reserved our table two days in advance. According to the website, reservations for 8 people weren't possible after 5:00 PM. So, our last chance was 4:45 PM. When we arrived today, our reservation was listed, but only then did they start arranging three tables together so that we could all sit. And it wasn't very busy. Then we had to ask the waiter to clean the high chair, which should have been the staff's responsibility. Our drinks were ordered, but we had to wait 20 minutes for that. We ordered our food when we got the drinks, but we had to wait almost an hour for that, too. Quite a long time considering there were hardly any customers. We also had a toddler there, which didn't exactly make things better. The food finally arrived and was delicious. But many of the things mentioned above can't make up for the delicious food. A major criticism is the cleanliness of the entire restaurant. Everything is dirty right outside the door, and it continues inside. Dirty floors everywhere, the windowsills were filthy, and spiders seem to feel very comfortable here, as cobwebs were everywhere you looked. So, dear Café del Sol... take this criticism to heart and change something about the situation, because the café is a beautiful place in itself.

It's a nice spot in itself, but as soon as it gets dark, you can't sit outside anymore in the summer; it's full of spiders, which cling in masses from the ceiling and hang around everywhere. Someone should clean it up; it's really unpleasant, because there are some large ones among them.

**The positives first:** The restaurant boasts a truly beautiful, spacious ambiance with high ceilings and an open layout. Despite its location on a main road, it's pleasantly quiet inside. Parking right outside is convenient (when it's not busy - it'll probably be tight when the restaurant is full). **The food and drinks** were definitely a highlight: very good quality, generous portions (we were able to take half with us), and the cocktails were also impeccable. The value for money is absolutely spot on. **Unfortunately, the service is lacking:** Although the restaurant was quiet on a Sunday, we were given a look upon entering as if we had to make a reservation. Our drink order worked, but then we waited forever for our food order because the waitress we'd promised didn't show up. We had to make ourselves known. The waiter who finally arrived seemed a bit snippy and unpleasant - not exactly inviting. **Cleanliness is a problem:** The Chesterfield sofas look chic, but the recesses were really dirty – you could feel dirt on your fingers after touching them. The restrooms weren't particularly clean either, which is surprising given the low demand. We also had to wait longer to pay. **Conclusion:** Given the price and the pleasant ambiance, I would have preferred more attentive service and better cleanliness. The good food unfortunately can't fully compensate for the shortcomings. With improvements in service, the restaurant would definitely have the potential to earn 5 stars.

The food was truly the best. The service was totally unfriendly, with ants and spiders that hadn't been there since yesterday. We asked the staff about it, but they just fobbed us off with the statement: They'll be back anyway. So you won't find us there anymore. So far, the worst Cade del Sol we've seen.

Judging by the pictures, it looks top-notch. The food itself is more like a cafeteria. The pasta, burgers, and wings were lukewarm, and everything generally tasted more like junk food than good food. So, if you value good food, you should choose another restaurant.

Wir waren am 07.07.2025 um 11:20 Uhr im Café de Sol Magdeburg.Schon beim Betreten des Lokals ,wies uns eine Servicekraft, nicht gerade freundlich ,eher genervt ,einen Platz zu. Eine andere Servicekraft(blonde Haare) hingegen ,war unheimlich zuvorkommend, nett und beriet uns gut zu bestimmten Gerichten. Das Essen sowohl die Getränke waren lecker ,frisch und gut. Dann wollten wir bezahlen.Die blonde Bedienung war zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht zu Gegend. Wir zeigten und sagten sehr freundlich der anderen Servicekraft,das wir gerne zahlen wollten. Sie nahm es zur Kenntnis u kam erstmal nicht an unseren Platz,unterhielt sich 10 min lang mit der Tresenkraft,das Lokal war nicht voll. Dann kamen Gäste,neben uns.Ich sagte wieder,das ich gern zahlen würde.Sie ließ mich nicht mal ausreden und sagte schroff....ich komme gleich.... Da steckte ich schonmal das Trinkgeld wieder weg. Nach insgesamt 15 min kam die nette blonde Bedienung.Die sehr unfreundliche Bedienung gab ihr ein paar Dinge und sagte ,in dem sie mit dem Finger abwertend auf uns zeigte ....ach die wolln bezahlen....und ging. Die blonde Bedienung war in der gesamten Zeit in Pause gewesen u entschuldigte sich für das Verhalten.Brauchte sie aber nicht,denn sie hatte ja nichts gemacht. A cozy atmosphere, somewhat remote from the city. The food was delicious, prices reasonable. The service was poor. The staff were arguing behind the counter (visibly visible to the guests). The bad mood was particularly evident on one employee's face. She dropped a glass, and the shards and the puddle were only half-heartedly removed, leaving them under the table an hour later. A waiter served our drinks in bottles with an empty glass, and we were then left to pour ourselves some—not great service. Another waiter practically slammed the food onto our table, uncaring and unfriendly... We had to wait a long time for the food, but at least it was delicious.

It was a lovely evening with good food and good service, although the price was moderately high.

We were at an event on the lake stage in Elbauenpark and were looking for something to tide us over until the entrance... After a 1km walk (there were plenty of parking spaces in front of the building! :-)), we reached Café del Sol and were pleasantly surprised. Extensive food and drink selection in a great atmosphere, reasonably priced, and a short wait. The pinsa and curry bowl were great! The creme brulee crust could have been a bit crispier, but that's just complaining at a high level. ;-) The staff was friendly, although they seemed a bit unmotivated at times. We still tipped them. ;-) The restrooms were very clean. When the weather was great (we had 10 degrees Celsius and rain), there was a lovely, covered terrace.
