Café Avi in Hamburg

Ein so gemütlicher Ort, und die Besitzerin Paula war die netteste überhaupt.

Ich liebe das Avi! Gemütlich (drinnen & draußen), große Auswahl an Frühstück, Snacks und Getränken und sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Toll :)

Wir waren das erste Mal heute da und waren sehr positiv angetan. Vom Service bis zum Ambiente War alles sehr stimmig. Das wird aufjedenfall unser Frühstücksspot Nr.1 werden in Zukunft! Lange nicht mehr so reichhaltig und lecker gefrühstückt. Wir kommen wieder.

Ich fand das Essen leider nicht besonders lecker. Es war sehr simpel, dafür waren die Preise aber fair. Trotzdem würde ich beim nächsten Mal lieber etwas mehr Geld ausgeben und dafür eine bessere Qualität bekommen. Der Pancake war zwar schön fluffig, hatte aber kaum Toppings, obwohl diese sogar extra kosten. Da könnte man ruhig etwas großzügiger sein. 😉 Die Sitzplätze draußen fand ich hingegen sehr gemütlich, und der Service war auch in Ordnung. Insgesamt war es aber leider keine besonders außergewöhnliche Erfahrung.

Wir kamen zum Frühstück. Das Café sieht von außen unscheinbar aus, hat aber ein wirklich authentisches Flair. Wir wurden sehr herzlich, fast schon freundlich, aber dennoch professionell empfangen. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr entspannt, die Hintergrundmusik angenehm und die unprätentiöse Einrichtung trägt wesentlich zum Charme des Lokals bei. Die sehr freundliche Besitzerin übersetzte uns einige Gerichte von der Speisekarte ins Französische, da sie fließend Französisch spricht. Wir aßen ein Sandwich mit einer leckeren Scheibe Brot und Rührei sowie Pfannkuchen mit Zimtcreme. Alles war köstlich und mit Liebe zubereitet. Auch die Kuchen der Besitzerin sahen sehr appetitlich aus. Wir haben keinen probiert, da wir schon satt waren, aber wäre das nicht ein guter Grund, wiederzukommen und sie zu probieren? 😊

Wir waren zum Frühstück und es war perfekt

Ein wirklich süßes Café mit gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Das süße Frühstück hat gut geschmeckt. Die hausgemachte Franzbrötchencreme war für meinen Geschmack etwas zu zimtlastig, aber das ist natürlich Geschmackssache. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist die sehr freundliche Mitarbeiterin und die schnelle Zubereitung der Bestellung. Einen Stern ziehe ich ab, da weder nachgefragt wurde, ob man noch einen Wunsch habe oder ob alles in Ordnung ist. Außerdem waren die Tische und Bänke im Außenbereich sowie einige Gegenstände auf dem Tisch (z. B. Salzstreuer) nicht ganz sauber. Auch ein benutzter Aschenbecher wurde nicht geleert, was beim Frühstück nicht besonders einladend wirkt. Der Innenbereich ist klein, aber liebevoll gestaltet. Insgesamt kann ich das Café dennoch empfehlen und würde wiederkommen.

Tolle Idee, schönes Frühstückscafé, super Karte. Falls die Zusammenstellung nicht passt, werden gerne die Wünsche berücksichtigt und so zusammen gestellt wie man mag. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir kommen sehr gerne ins Avi! Auch wenn wir Besuch bekommen, ist ein Frühstück ein Muss 😊 liebevoll angerichtet und es schmeckt immer gut und frisch! Es ist sehr klein und teilweise etwas eng, deshalb unbedingt vorher reservieren.

Sehr leckeres Frühstück, allerdings recht hochpreisig. Guter Service! Leider nur eine Damentoilette! Alles in allem aber eine Empfehlung!

Der Laden sieht von außen schon sehr einladend aus, sodass meine Freundin und ich gestern spontan hineingegangen sind und wir haben es keine Sekunde bereut. Ein unglaublich kuscheliges Café mit einer absolute herzlichen Chefin, die uns direkt freundlich empfangen und super beraten hat. So eine persönliche und warme Atmosphäre erlebt man wirklich selten. Drinnen war alles sehr sauber, gepflegt und angenehm . Das Essen war wunderschön angerichtet und geschmacklich einfach hervorragend,der Kaffe war auch sehr gut, wir haben schon lange nicht mehr so lecker gefrühstückt. Die Preise sind absolut fair und vollkommen gerechtfertigt. Ein besonderes Highlight war der Espresso Affogato mit Vanille Eis ,der war der Hammer. Vielen Dank für dieses tolle Erlebnis! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Gemütliches, kleines Café mit leckerem Frühstück. Vor allem das warme Sylter Brot ist der Wahnsinn ! Wir haben noch 4x Brot nachbestellt damit wir auch wirklich satt werden, da die Portionen für uns doch zu klein waren, aber das ist ja individuell. Alles in einem - zu empfehlen!

Hey, Grüße vom Nachbarn (hier vom Stormsweg, aus der DTILE GmbH): Trinke hier super gerne den Matcha! Abgesehen davon, dass er als Latte bei euch mega schmeckt, echt ist (keine Selbstverständlichkeit in Hamburg) und wahrscheinlich den fairsten Preis hat, wird man hier immer super freundlich empfangen und gemütlich ist es auch noch. Ein Minuspunkt: Würde so gerne viel früher bei euch vorbeischauen, leider erst ab 9 Uhr auf :'( lg

Liebe Leser, haltet ihr es für realistisch, dass eine Lokalität nahezu ausschließlich 4+5 Sterne Bewertungen erhält? Ist es nicht so, dass irgendwer immer mal mit irgendwas unzufrieden ist? Es gibt Unternehmen, die nehmen Kritik an. Andere Unternehmen versuchen, Kritik zu verheimlichen. Diese Lokalität hier ging binnen 24 Std. gegen meine unten stehende Bewertung vor und ließ diese durch Google sperren, wie es mittlerweile leider viele Unternehmen machen. Sie behaupten, man wäre nie Kunde gewesen und würde die Bewertung zu Unrecht schreiben. Nun - ich konnte gegenüber Google nachweisen, doch Kunde gewesen zu sein, somit hat Google meine Bewertung wieder freigeschaltet. ------------------------------------------------ Wir waren an einem Sonntag dort - 10 Uhr - Frühstück. Langfristig reserviert für 6 Personen. Wir waren dann glücklicherweise nur 5 Personen, da die 6. Person direkt vor der Toilettentür hätte sitzen müssen. Die bestellten Speisen ließen lange auf sich warten, bis kurz vor 11 Uhr, auch Kaffee etc. dauerte ungewöhnlich lange. Nach uns erschienene Kunden, die nach uns ihre Bestellungen aufgegeben haben, erhielten deutlich vor uns ihre Bestellungen. Die Speisen und Getränke waren dann einwandfrei lecker und empfehlenswert - aber nicht wieder an einem Sonntag.

Ich bin mittlerweile so gut wie jeden Samstag mit meiner Freundin im Avi und es ist mit Abstand unser absolutes Lieblingscafe' in Hamburg . Die Atmosphäre ist jedes Mal super angenehm, das Team ist freundlich und aufmerksam und das Frühstück schmeckt einfach immer top. Man merkt dass hier viel Liebe im Detail steckt. Egal ob beim Essen, beim Service oder bei der Einrichtung. Für uns gibt es keinen besseren Start in den Samstag. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

Das AVI ist ein ganz wunderbarer Ort, um seine Zeit mit sehr leckerem Essen und natürlich genau so leckeren Getränken zu verbringen. Die Smoothie-Bowl und der Cappuccino sind dort für mich die beste Wahl in der Stadt. Preis/Leistung stimmt einfach, denn die Portionen sind mehr als angemessen. Besonders schön ist es, wenn man draußen auf der großen Terrasse sitzen kann. Aber auch im Laden findet sich, am Wochenende mit Reservierung, ein gemütliches Plätzchen. Die Inhaber sind herzensgute Menschen und ich bin froh darüber, dort schon seit langem mein Lieblingscafé gefunden zu haben.

Wir hatten zu um 10.00 Uhr reserviert waren aber schon um 09.00 Uhr da was kein Problem war, wir waren also die ersten. Da Essen toll dekoriert, die Kaffeepreise schon heftig. Da wundern sich manche Gastronomen warum die Gäste nur ein Getränk nehmen. Und sonst, der Boden schmutzig, die Tisch Füße dreckig, die Salz und Pfefferstreuer schmutzig, die Lampe schirm staubig. Sind wir wohl etwas betriebsblind geworden? Auch hätten wir uns gefreut wenn mal jemand gefragt hätte ob wir noch einen Wunsch hätten. Gerade in der Gegend wo man überwiegend Stammkunden hat, macht sich das Geschäft langsam aber sicher kaputt. P.s Die Tür ist das Aushängeschild. Eine Saubere Tür und Eingangsbereich sind sehr wichtig.

Wir haben hier Gefrühstückt. Es war sehr lecker und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Es hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt.

Sehr leckeres, mit viel Liebe zubereitetes Frühstück! Kinderfreundlich - Hochstuhl und Wickeltisch vorhanden und für unsere Kleine wurde direkt etwas zu Essen gebracht.

Super kleiner laden mit einem verdammt guten Frühstück! Ob süß oder herzhaft es ist für jeden Geschmack was dabei. Im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Läden auch ordentliche Portionen. Definitiv weiterzuempfehlen!

Unser Besuch im Avi Café war insgesamt ok, aber leider auch nicht mehr.. Die Kuchenauswahl war nicht groß und auch der Service lässt noch Raum nach oben... Am Samstag sind wir um 14:30 Uhr angekommen, da bereits um 15:00 Ur geschlossen wird, das ist für ein Cafè doch sehr ungewöhnlich und wäre uns das beim Kauf unseres Gutscheines so bewusst gewesen, hätten wir von dem Kauf auch Abstand genommen.

Wir waren zum frühstücken da und es war köstlich! Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und man muss nicht lange auf sein Essen warten. Die Smoothie Bowl ist sehr zu empfehlen und der weiße Kakao auch! Ein sehr tolles und hübsches Café!

Conclusion: For me, the service is simply the best I've ever experienced. The employee knew what I wanted after just a few visits, was very accommodating, and on my last visit, she cut my favorite dish into bites due to my shoulder injury. Thanks again for that. The ambiance is great, as the Avi is located on a quiet side street, and you can sit outside in nice weather without too much noise. The food and coffee are also very tasty and reasonably priced, so I can give it 5 stars. Thank you and see you next time 🤗

While looking for a good breakfast in Hamburg, we found it here! We had to wait about 10 minutes for our food on a Sunday morning. Then we received prompt and friendly service. The drinks and food were delicious, freshly prepared, and lovingly presented. We had the AVI SPECIAL FOR 2 in VEGETARIAN with delicious homemade spreads, and the Franzbrötchen cream is simply amazing! The price is completely reasonable for the quality. The ambiance of the café is very cozy, relaxing, and you feel incredibly comfortable. The tables were a bit small, but still sufficient. Overall, we can recommend the café with a clear conscience!

Very nice food, took a bit of time to be served but was in the end worth it

The breakfast and brunch offerings are varied, fresh, and high-quality—with delightful combinations like the "Avi Special" for two or classic vegan and sweet options. Particularly noteworthy: real country eggs, avocado, homemade spreads, and regional ingredients—all prepared with care and love. We've been there three times in a row for brunch.

Good food at fair prices, nothing special, but tasty. The cinnamon cream for breakfast for two was delicious. Unfortunately, it took quite a while for the food to arrive. The service was okay. The ambiance is good, with a large outdoor area on a quiet side street.

I went there for lunch with a friend today, and everything was just perfect. The food was fresh and truly delicious. I particularly enjoyed the lunch bowl. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We'd love to come back!

An all around wonderful experience! The breakfast was very rich and of high quality - everything was freshly and lovingly prepared. The atmosphere at Avi-Kaffee & Proviant is relaxed and inviting, and the place is tastefully decorated. Particularly nice: Our table was lovingly decorated especially for the birthday we celebrated. A big thank you to the Brazilian waiter – he was super attentive, warm and made our visit even more special. We'll definitely be back!

A nice little cafe where you can have a good breakfast! We were here for my birthday. The table was lovingly decorated. The price of the breakfast is rather higher (but it's normal these days), but it's very tasty and plentiful - we had the big breakfast for two people. The drinks (latte macchiato with oat milk & fresh orange juice) were also very tasty. The staff was very friendly and tried hard.

Found this cafe on the last day of our little Hamburg trip. They are super friendly and there's an English menu + the menu has pictures! (Which is rare) Everything looks amazing!

We had breakfast in the Avi today, no, that's not true, we had balm for the soul. It was so incredibly lovingly prepared and no matter what you tried it was 😍😍😍😍. The homemade Franzbrötchen cream was really the crowning glory, as soon as it touched the palate there was a taste explosion, boo. We will recommend the café wholeheartedly and even if it's not exactly in our corner, we'll definitely do it again visit. Thank you very much for the super nice service. 10 out of 10 stars😊

Unfortunately I can't say much about the quality of the food. We have already ordered there twice via Lieferando, each time it was supposed to be a birthday breakfast. At first the order was accepted, but after about a quarter of an hour it was canceled without giving any reason and the possible delivery time was pushed back by several hours. Disappointing. UPDATE: Today (February 22, 2025) my friend thought we would give Avi another chance. But this time too, the order was first confirmed via Lieferando and then canceled again 10 minutes later. Maybe you just shouldn't offer delivery if you can't or don't want to serve them. Therefore the rating remains unchanged. UPDATE 2: This review has already been attempted to be removed twice by the owner amid accusations of defamation. On both occasions, after providing appropriate evidence, Google determined that all statements made herein were factual.

A small but very nice restaurant with a rustic atmosphere, very nice service, the Avi breakfast is not cheap, but worth every cent (very high-quality, varied products on the plate). . . Any time !

We spontaneously decided on this charming café; it is generally advisable to make a reservation. The welcoming atmosphere and the promising menu immediately attracted me. The café exudes a warm and cozy atmosphere. The furnishings are tasteful and invite you to linger. However, I missed relaxing music. The service was friendly and attentive. The grilled sandwich was cooked perfectly. The bread was crispy and the filling was tasty. An ideal choice for a hearty hunger. The coffee selection was varied and the coffee itself was excellent. However, the pancake was too expensive, almost €10 for one with applesauce, but it looked nice and served.

The best cafe in all of Hamburg

A place without a doubt that is one of the best in Hamburg from my point of view and as a tourist I have already been to several points in the city. But here you feel welcomed, with wonderful attention, everything is absolutely fresh and made from the moment. The flavor, quality, texture and price seem really amazing to me and very, very good. You have to go and try everything you can in this wonderful place. Thank you for the kindness with which I was treated even though I did not speak English or German, the lady who served me understood me and spoke a little Spanish for me. Thank you very much!

The Avi has been our favorite café for years, simply because of the ambience and the delicious breakfast variations. You are always warmly welcomed and after the change of ownership it seems even more dog-friendly to me 😊 Thank you for your effort!

It's small and doesn't have a lot of space, but the food and service were great.

Unfortunately it's not what it used to be... I always enjoyed breakfast there but unfortunately we were very disappointed on the last two visits.

Very tasty scrambled eggs in the garden on a quiet street. The waiting time was a bit long (approx. 20 minutes), but maybe it was because of the European Football Championship.

Delicious pastries and very tasty hot drinks. We had cappuccino and matcha latte and were very impressed. Our dog was also allowed to be there.

We spontaneously reserved a table at Avi yesterday and we were totally happy. The chocolate bee sting was definitely our highlight and the coffee and ambience were also first class. Perfect place for a good, healthy and tasty breakfast.

I actually like the Avi. The breakfast selection is really good and tasty, fairly priced and when the weather is good you can sit outside. However, it usually takes a long time to get the drinks; you often have to wait 20-30 minutes for coffee. And one toilet is clearly not enough for the amount of space. Unfortunately, the last time the service was really weak, we had what seemed to be a new waiter who brought things wrong several times. I'm also really open to casual outfits, that's not an issue at all, but sweatpants with the underbust peeking out at the top are not an option. There really could be more, I hope they get their processes under control again because it's really nice there.

Great for breakfast! Seats are available inside and outside. Despite the location outside, very quiet. The food and the coffee were really delicious. We had a sandwich and a yogurt with granola and fruit. I can only recommend.

We ordered 2 cafes, scrambled eggs and a pancake with maple syrup. In terms of taste, everything was okay, but €8.90 for a single thin pancake with a little maple syrup (decorated with powdered sugar and a physalis) is excessive.

We were here for breakfast and loved the cozy atmosphere. It's a small cafe with only a few seats. An absolute pleasure with the loving preparation of the food and the quality of the food.

Service was unfriendly, no allergy card available although required by law. In that case that meant no breakfast for us. Very unfortunate...

A really cute little place to have breakfast! The pancake is very tasty, although a bit small, and it's more of a pancake than a fluffy "pancake". The Frabzbrötchen cream is an absolute recommendation!

The place was a little cramped. We had the cheeseplate, which was not worth 15€ at all! Also we ordered the scrambled egg with avocado, which was plain and had no taste at all. But the biggest disappointment was the cold bread! They gave us cold bread for breakfast in winter! Not good, not recommended! On the other hand their cake was delicious. Also the jam was very good. And the staff were friendly.
