Bürgergarten Döbeln in Döbeln

September 2025: The park with its two ponds has been meticulously redesigned, very beautiful. Once again at the Bürgergarten restaurant and once again very satisfied. The service was very attentive and friendly, the steak with fried potatoes was cooked medium and tender as requested, the chicken liver was excellent in flavor and texture and a very large portion, and the chicken curry was good; it could have used a bit more chili, but that's a matter of taste. Highly recommended, I'd be happy to go again 😊 The ambiance was spoiled by the construction noise at the pond, but hopefully it will be back to its former glory in the summer. This time on Sunday lunchtime, with a large group of about 20 people, everyone enjoyed it; the pond wasn't filled yet.

The food was okay, but not worth the price. I can cook just as well at home. What I don't understand is that not everyone at the table (4 adults, 2 children) got their food at the same time. The children got their food first, and then nothing happened for a while. I've rarely experienced that in restaurants, and it's a no-go for me.

We were there with our birthday guests for coffee, having, of course, arranged and ordered everything beforehand. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. We arrived at our table on time, but no one paid any attention to us. When we asked after 20 minutes why no one was serving us, we were finally able to order drinks. The waitress, who then seemed to be serving us in addition to another group, was really nice and friendly and tried to salvage the bad start. Unfortunately, the mishaps continued. The cake did arrive, but the guests received their latte or café au lait much too late and only after repeated requests. As a result, some of our guests had already "enjoyed" the cake with water. I would definitely not go there again with a group, because the situation was very annoying for me as the host. I had imagined the birthday party to be more relaxed. I'm giving the 3 stars only for the lovely ambiance.

First, the positives: the ambiance is really lovely and the location is great. When we first ordered, we had a very friendly waitress (a man with glasses). He was quick, attentive, child-friendly, and funny. The food arrived very quickly. Now, the negatives: The quality of the food didn't match the price. The pasta was overcooked and the lamb was very tough. The ladies in the service area apparently didn't even enjoy their jobs. When we said the lamb was tough, they just said, "I'll tell the kitchen." But they never responded with any feedback or even apologized. In conclusion: The 3 stars are only for the ambiance and the nice gentleman who at least liked his job.

After the reopening, it was good. Nice playground for the kids. The park was well laid out.

A small menu—even with portions suitable for seniors!—promised quality and delivered. We sat in the outdoor seating area, shaded from the sun by a dove-like canopy of plane tree leaves. But what particularly struck us was the competent and friendly staff—hence 5 stars in every respect!

It turned out beautifully! A great playground and a beautiful outdoor area!

Well, this afternoon, it was as if we were invisible, and the staff walked past our table for almost 20 minutes... I personally don't recommend this restaurant and won't be going back in the future... I wish everyone a lot of fun and plenty of time in their luggage...

Simply a top-notch restaurant with a great atmosphere, whether inside or outside. The prices are reasonable, and they offer dishes for seniors (something smaller and more delicate 😄 we understand). The interior is beautifully decorated and there's plenty of space. The restaurant was full, but the food came relatively quickly. It was lovingly cooked and presented.

Great ambiance – poor service and hygiene I came here for dinner with my future husband. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and were initially greeted very warmly, even given free seating. We were able to order drinks and food directly. After a while, we received a small "gift from the kitchen" in the form of grapes. Unfortunately, this seemed rather unkind – we wouldn't have offered them to more guests at home. Since I couldn't decide between two dishes, I asked the waitress for a recommendation. Her answer ("my husband would...") seemed a bit unfortunate. I finally chose the chickpea curry, while my boyfriend opted for the schnitzel with fries and mushrooms. From that point on, unfortunately, no one else came to our table. We waited a very long time, and even after waiting for over an hour, my tea was long gone without anyone asking. Since we wanted to go to the cinema after dinner, we were starting to feel a bit pressed for time. We didn't get our food until after 8 p.m. – over an hour after ordering. We were extremely disappointed: Neither the schnitzel nor the curry were worth the price. So we immediately asked for the bill. Only then did a lady ask us if everything was okay – but by then it was already too late. I skipped the dessert I'd planned because I didn't want to wait forever again. Another very negative impression: The restrooms were in poor condition – dirty, there was no toilet paper, paper towels were scattered on the floor, and the disinfectant was also empty. Precisely because the restaurant's ambiance is so appealing, I was very disappointed that the restrooms were more like "school restrooms." Conclusion: Unfortunately, this was a one-time visit for us. While the location and ambiance are nice, the service was inattentive, the wait for the main course was far too long at over an hour, and the prices were, in our opinion, excessive. The condition of the sanitary facilities also doesn't meet the standards of a pleasant restaurant visit. Luckily, the cinema was able to salvage the evening afterwards.

Star deduction due to price. It's gotten very expensive these days... Update from August 11, 2025 The food is getting more and more expensive. You get some cheap Coke served in a Coca-Cola glass. It simply tastes awful. The bill had to be corrected several times. Either everything was listed twice, or food was booked that hadn't been ordered. Empty tables weren't cleared or cleaned for over 1.5 hours. We had to wait a whopping 45 minutes to order another ice cream. The waiters were rarely in sight. It's a shame, really... But at that price, the service definitely needs to be different. It was incredibly disappointing... Unfortunately, there's no other way to describe it. Conclusion: I'll look for another place for my birthday next time.

Awful service and food we had Chicken grill, Steak Pork and fish start from chicken grill I asked to replace the rice to the chips and they charging the total of the dish plus chips the breast chicken quarter of the breast, Steak Pork was four pieces and vary hard to cut, The fish was out of date, The food over price it. We were at Bürgergarten Döbeln for the first time and sat outside in the nice weather. We were assigned a table, but unfortunately, we didn't have a front row by the water, and the food was free the whole time. I had a farmer's breakfast, which was very unusually prepared, but overall a good place, and the server was very friendly.

The Bürgergarten is truly a sight to behold. A lovely restaurant next to a well-kept little lake and park. There are play areas for children. The staff is attentive and friendly. Reservations are recommended. We'd be happy to come back.

A very nice place. We were given the menu, but that was it. Other guests who arrived later were given priority. Perhaps it was because we had children with us? We noticed that a mother with two children was also ignored. She even left before us.

The Bürgergarten in Döbeln is a beautiful restaurant with spacious indoor and outdoor areas. The redesign of the grounds and the pond is a great success, and I hope it stays that way for a long time. But I'd also like to give a shout-out to the fantastic staff. Truly excellent service. 😊

I made a reservation on June 12th, 2025 at around 6 p.m. for my 60th birthday for four men on June 25th, 2025, just to be on the safe side, and the colleague from the Bürgergarten who took the reservation laughed at me because she assumed it was going to be a big party. That's just not okay, I'm already thinking about going somewhere else. Unfortunately, one star too many.

We rented the conservatory for our wedding. All of our guests were very happy; the food was amazing, the location was beautiful, and the service was fantastic. They even returned the baking tray we left there clean. It was super sweet! It was a wonderful celebration, thank you again! We will definitely eat here again.

I definitely recommend this restaurant. The service is very nice and takes orders calmly. The small schnitzel is very well breaded and you can feel that especially in its excellent taste, especially the side dishes, consisting of very well seasoned potatoes and delicious vegetables this schnitzel harmoniously fits together. The dessert is also very delicious. I made Quarkkäulchen with applesauce, they tasted just like the original Saxon Quarkkäulchen that I know from my grandma. It was a great visit.

We were there spontaneously at the weekend when we were on vacation at home. The food was absolutely top. The service was also very attentive and extremely friendly. The portions were extremely large, which justifies the price. We would be happy to come back and can only recommend the Bürgergarten in Döbeln.

It was bad 10 years ago, now it's even worse. Ordered a table for lunch on a Saturday. There wasn't much going on. There were 2 small parties inside, maybe 4 tables outside. After 30 minutes, drinks were taken and fries were ordered for the children. After another half hour the drinks came, and after 1 1/2 hours the fries came. After 2 hours I told the staff I wanted to pay and leave. I had to go to the counter because no one came to the table, even though the staff kept walking past and didn't respond to calls. Things got very embarrassing at the checkout. A young waitress was crying at the checkout, the older waitress was complaining about her young colleagues, these young vegetables can't do anything. To be honest, something like that just doesn't work for the Bürgergarten or Gastro Lemke. The joke was that the food was suddenly ready, so I had it packed up. And then you have to pay for the packing. Of course, the food was cold and didn't taste good either, as there was no quality packaging and everything was soggy. Luckily, another catering service was able to make up for the 3 hours we lost on our wedding day.

This is also a wonderful place to relax, beautifully located in Döbeln, you can feel very comfortable here. A small circular path around the ponds is very nice. Everything is currently being renovated in the outside area and you can be sure that it will be absolutely fantastic when it is finished.

The Bürgergarten impresses with its pleasant atmosphere. You can sit well inside or outside. The location is also very suitable for family celebrations or weddings. There is ample parking and access with reduced mobility is very good.

We were there for dinner. The service was very friendly and hardworking. The food came quickly, was hot and tasty. It's very nice to sit there, even if there's a construction site next door, but they'll be finished at some point... Very happy again!

Nobody can get me there anymore! My in-laws celebrated their birthdays there. The service was very bad: it was hardly visible and if one could hardly speak German the other was very brisk. It was warm, there was hardly any request for drinks (maybe three times in 4 hours, including 2 in the last hour). There was a champagne reception about 45 minutes after the start. Starters were not soups but porridge (too powerful, several guests were still unwell at night), so main courses were hardly manageable if you even got what you ordered. I had my son pack the food for me. It was done, but you had to pay extra for it (which I didn't know). My brother-in-law had ordered flowers and paid for them in advance, and they were on the bill afterwards! Washing the tablecloths was charged extra again. I come from the catering industry myself and know that such costs are included in the price calculation for food and drinks. We were billed twice for this. I'm speechless and we all agreed that we would never go there again.

This restaurant is very well equipped and located, it's just a shame that the neighboring pond is currently being renovated. The service was friendly, quick and competent. We all enjoyed it very much. Perhaps some low-priced dishes need to be added to the menu.

We were there today in a rude manner and ordered iced coffee, which unfortunately we didn't like because it was just cold coffee and then we asked politely if we could get a coffee latte. That took almost half an hour and we still had to pay for the iced coffee even though we had Had just tried a small sip, the staff said it had started and they had to pay.

Schon bei den Aperitifs hatte die Bedienung nur auf mehrfacher Nachfrage eine vage Idee was in den €6,90 teuren Sommercocktails wo drin stecken könnte. Das Spargelessen ein Reinfall, der Spargel zu hart, ich hätte auch auf einer Schwarzwurzel rumkauen können Kartoffeln aus der Mikrowelle, aufgewärmt evtl. Vortag, wenig schmackhaft, fad Sauce ganz gut, sehr knausrige Portion, nur auf Nachfrage Nachschlag erhalten Schnitzel okay, Fisch: ganz gut, wenig! Bei Nachfrage: kein Koch erschienen, kein Preisnachlass, kein Gratisgetränk, wie Kaffee, Eis oder Ähnliches um mich von dieser Bewertung abzuhalten Kurzum: mässige Qualität für ein teures Essen, für uns erstmal sehr lange kein Bürgergarten, da ist im Service und in der Küche wohl noch sehr viel Luft nach oben

You can also read it on the homepage, as well as the menu. Otherwise quite modern and inviting atmosphere. Young, friendly and very accommodating staff. The portions are large and taste very good.

Were there yesterday. Very moderate attendance at 6 p.m. The food was very tasty, the veal liver was really great. Unfortunately, the sauce was rather unsuitable because it tasted like goulash soup. The staff was rather unusual: there was no smile and they didn't ask us every now and then whether it was tasty. We were also not asked for any other drink requests. After clearing up we waited half an hour for our bill. Only after we went to the staff were we able to pay. That's too bad.

We really enjoyed the food in the Bürgergarten. Schnitzel with asparagus for 22 euros was ok in terms of price. The service was very friendly and quick. We come here often and can really recommend the restaurant. When the renovation of the pond is completed, the ambience will be even more beautiful.

Ambiance is nice, staff courteous. Prices are way too high for the service you get here. It takes forever to be able to order, let alone get the things you ordered. Next door today there was also a “teen disco” for young people aged 11 to 15, music was incredibly loud and disturbing, and then songs like “Bongzimmer” by SXTN or “Jim Beam & Voddi” by AK Extracontrol and Bonez MC were playing. It doesn't work at all!!! But not at a children's disco?!

There was something for everyone, but unfortunately (sometimes for economic reasons) that has become somewhat rare. The service was also very attentive, quick and friendly. The service staff did their job with joy and that was very good! Although, by Dl standards, we were a bit late on the weekday (spontaneously in response to a telephone inquiry). Really a very nice birthday evening ended! I can recommend it with a clear conscience, even for more demanding guests, as the ambience is also right. This restaurant has really improved compared to the past, in everything👏🏼. In addition, the price-performance ratio is still right. I hope it stays at least at this level, even in times of a shortage of skilled workers. ...keep my fingers crossed✊🏽 that the redesign of the pond/park area doesn't take longer than planned.
