Brauhaus zur Post in Frankenthal (Pfalz)

Too foreign for this house? At least that's how it seemed to us yesterday. Yesterday we wanted to visit this brewery for the first time (we don't come from this area). After successful work, my team and I wanted to end the evening in Frankenthal in the brewery. When we got into the house we stood at the reception and waited until we were assigned a seat. After a few minutes I went to the service and asked if someone could take us to our table, the answer was, someone will be there shortly. A few minutes later I asked again. This time too, the staff said someone would be coming soon. So we stood there and numerous employees walked past us and completely ignored us. I then spoke to another employee and she again said she would be there shortly. Then other guests would come into the house and they would be welcomed directly and brought to a table. After probably over 15 minutes we left the house. So it's a real shame if you want to experience something different and are ignored. No recommendation from us. Fortunately, there are still very good operators in Frankenthal who appreciate their guests. Almost everything was perfect there. And he was more than happy with the sales 😉.

The food was great, at least for my son and me. My wife's schnitzel was a bit stringy. The burger grilled on the lava stone by my son was great. My Braumeisterschnitzel was also great. There is a small point deduction for the fried potatoes, which were too crispy for me. A minute or two shorter would have been better. What I also think is a shame is that you have to pay an extra €1 to change your order from fries to fried potatoes. I don't think that's justified. Update: we ate there again today, had surf and turf and cheese spaetzle. Everything is great. The quality is really great. You're happy to pay a little more for that.

Service was totally unfriendly. Had reserved. We weren't allowed to order drinks with food even though we already knew everything. After the drinks finally came and we were "allowed" to give up the food, 45 minutes had passed. 20 minutes after we ordered the food, the waitress came and said "the food will take about 45 minutes." After we were there for almost 2 hours, the food came. That was very good. Prices have risen extremely. All in all it was okay, but it doesn't have to be that way.

The beer is really delicious and the various dishes are tasty and well prepared. Everything is served quickly by friendly and courteous service at absolutely fair prices. We would love to come back...

Schon längere Zeit kommen wir immer wieder mal in dieses Lokal. Es ist recht urig eingerichtet und auch recht groß.Im Sommer ist es sehr schön draußen zu sitzen.Auch wenn es gut besucht ist,so ist die Wartezeit angemessen. Die Speisekarte ist reichlich mit viel Fleisch und auch vegetarisch ausgestattet. Es wird alles frisch zubereitet und das schmeckt man auch.Zu dem ganzen gibt es ein Salatbuffet mit ausreichend Auswahl.Über Preise reden wir mal nicht.Es ist überall teurer geworden.Wir werden auch in Zukunft wieder kommen. Lasst es euch schmecken!

The schnitzels are good but you can taste that they are fried in oil. Salad tastes very good as always. Staff really top.

The staff is super unfriendly and rude. We were thrown out on Saturday evening with glasses still half full and a sense of optimism because the staff wanted to call it a day. Lt. According to the internet, the restaurant was open until midnight and the waitress said until the last person leaves so we should leave now. Impossible behavior and around 10:30 p.m. chairs at the tables next to us were turned around and a mood of optimism spread. At the end we were also allowed to listen to the grumblings of a waiter. So there was no longer any talk of comfortable here. Food was good but that was it.

Rustic atmosphere, rustic and cozy. The service was very nice and attentive. We had the Jägerschnitzel with fries and salad. The portions are quite large. The salad is available from the buffet, it was fresh, but no special varieties, more run of the mill. In addition to vinegar and oil, there is a yogurt dressing. The Schmotzrl was tender, the sauce with a few mushrooms is served separately. However, it is more of a ready-made sauce. The fries were rather dry. All in all the food was ok, average, nothing special. I found the price a bit too high for that.

We were there two evenings in a row. Were served very nicely. And the young lady was in a very good mood and competent. This makes eating out fun.

I was recently at the Brauhaus zur Post in Frankenthal and I was thrilled! We had a reservation and were shown to our table in a friendly and quick manner. The atmosphere in the brewery is cozy and inviting – typical of a traditional pub. The attentive and polite staff was particularly positive. We chose the spare ribs and that was definitely the right choice! The meat was tender, juicy and fell easily from the bone. The marinade was perfectly balanced and gave the ribs a delicious seasoning. There was also a generous portion of side dishes that went perfectly with it. Another plus point is the home-brewed beer, which tasted great and went wonderfully with the ribs. Overall, a great dining experience in a rustic but cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

I ordered the turkey schnitzel Brasil. Huge portion. But quite expensive. There are no longer small portions.

Fantastic food. The portions are very generous. At the last minute I also bought a beer glass. And the service was perfect too. Highly recommended to eat there.

We are on vacation here in Frankenthal and today we are here for the fifth time in a row at the brewery at the Alte Post. All I can say is that we are happy with everyone here. The food is super tasty and the portions are very large. The price-performance ratio for the food and drinks is absolutely fine. Anyone who writes here that everything is too expensive should come to Düsseldorf, you'll have to spend a lot more money. The staff is also super friendly and very accommodating... Thank you for that! We'll definitely be back, we really enjoyed it here. See you soon!!!

The food was delicious, but shish kebab wasn't "classic" as we expected, but rather had a lot of sauce (but also good). The service was nice, everything was OK. I just find the prices to be very high, both for the drinks and the food. That's a shame, because then you end up with just one drink even though you want more... But the food portions are also very good and we were more than full.

Great evening! Clear recommendation! The portions are very large, therefore a top price/performance ratio. For me personally the salad bar was mega. If a side salad was included in the meal, you could grab a plate and have whatever you wanted. Great concept! The staff is very friendly and professional!

I had dinner with my family and our order arrived less than an hour later. We had ordered 2 Barbarossa salads and according to the waiter… there is waiting time. If I had tried the food, I might have said 🤔 something about the food...

We had reserved a table and were assigned it in the beer garden. When we looked up, we saw a completely dirty string of lights and an equally dirty speaker. As a starter we had grilled pepperoni, the garlic dip is not recommended. We then had to wait over an hour for the main meal, we were very disappointed with the quality. There were two schnitzels on the plate, although they consisted almost entirely of breading (breading was twice as high as the meat). The rest of the food didn't convince us either; the prices for it weren't appropriate. From our side, the brewery is unfortunately not recommended, once and not again.

The food and location are good, the staff is mostly very friendly and you can have a nice stay. All in all, a very well-rounded affair and we would be happy to come back. :-)

Excellent brewery, I shared with friends on a work trip

The restaurant is very centrally located with an adjacent parking lot. The service was very friendly and quick. The ordered food was served after a short time. It's nice to linger in the outdoor area. Everything seems clean, well-kept, attractive and of high standard. The dishes are quite sumptuous and tasty. All in all, highly recommended.

Nice brewery with lots of seats and a large bar. The beer garden shouldn't go unmentioned either. The home-brewed beers are tasty and very mainstream in taste. Didn't eat anything but looked delicious and moved in the typical brewery style.

As a rule, you eat really well there, although the prices are significantly higher (as in other places). Good brewery atmosphere with a large beer garden in summer. For romantics, it's more of a plan B, as a high volume level is usually achieved.

Top address. Light (of course it's a matter of taste) great... service attentive, nice and fast... good price/performance ratio. Nice beer garden... cozy place. Food from the hot stone at top prices on Wednesdays. Clear recommendation. We'll always be happy to come back.

Delicious food and of course good beer. Haven't been there for a while now, but I have to say 👍👌😉. The service could be a little better, even if the house is full on Saturdays. We would definitely have drunk more if we had the opportunity 😉.

The last time I ate at the brewery was in January and the prices had already been increased at that point. The ambience and service were appropriate, but were not in relation to the food. I had turkey schnitzel with fried potatoes as a side dish, but unfortunately it wasn't convincing and the schnitzel didn't appeal to me either.

Today we were in the brewery for the first time, without a reservation on a Friday evening, ok only 2 people and relatively early. We were given a nice table and were warmly welcomed and looked after. The service was completely friendly and competent (three different people served us) - we felt very comfortable and welcome. The food, the sausage salad with fries and the malt pan, were really tasty, the meat on the platter was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender with a delicious crust and not overcooked, very tasty! The cheese spaetzle are good, there was a bit too much cream for me but that's complaining at a high level. The portion size of the meat dish is enough for 2 people so I got a doggy bag and can eat it again tomorrow. Thank you very much for the lovely evening and the cool wheat with woodruff - we would love to come back!

Wir waren an einem Donnerstag zum spare rib all you can eat im Brauhaus. Die Rippchen waren sehr lecker. Das Fleisch war sehr zart und saftig. Zusätzlich gab es pro Person eine Portion Pommes und man durfte an das Salatbuffet. Das selbstgebraute Bier ist ebenfalls sehr lecker. Service auch gut. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen. Abzug gibts im Service. Wir waren als Gruppe dort und die Teller wurden schon abgeräumt, obwohl noch nicht alle fertig waren. Das hat die Stimmung etwas gedrückt. Das Ambiente ist in Ordnung, die Beleuchtung könnte etwas besser sein.

Super Ambiente, wir durften oben sitzen. Bedienung superfreundlich und auf zack! Essen kam auch zeitig, so dass einem schönen Abend nichts im Weg stand. Das Essen war sehr gut, eigens die Saucen zum "heissen Stein" könnten einen eigenen "Touch" vertragen. Das hauseigene Bier ist super, das schwarze Bockbier hat es in sich. Die angrenzenden Parkplatze sid limitiert, es empfiehlt sich, in das nahegelegene Parkheus (kostenpflichtig) auszuweichen.

Essen ist sehr lecker, Trinken auch alles super. Die Bedienung fand ich mittelprächtig. Vielleicht nicht ihr Tag. Wenn wir mal wieder dort sind und der Service besser ist, werde ich die Rezession überarbeiten.

Sehr gutes Essen und sehr schönes Ambiente

Ja, das war schon fast perfekt: Super Ambiente, superschnelle und superfreundliche Bedienung und superschmackhaftes Essen. Da ich ausdrücklich drauf hingewiesen wurde, habe ich mir die Zunge nicht am heissen Stein verbrannt. Aber das Fleisch auf den Punkt gebracht. Wenn die Saucen auch noch außergewöhnlich gewesen wären, gäbe es den fünften Stern. Das Bockbier des Hauses hat es in sich, nicht nur vom malzigen Geschmack her. Alles in allem gelungen.

Das Essen war geschmacklich gut und bei den normalen Portionen dem Preis entsprechend. Leider stehen Kinderteller und Seniorenteller in keiner Relation vom Preis her. Eine normale Portion Wiener Schnitzel mit Rahmsoße kostet 18,80 Euro, wenn man einen Kinderteller bestellt bekommt man die halbe Portion vom normalen Wiener Schnitzel für 9,90 Euro. Bestellt man einen Seitenteller, der von der Menge her identisch mit dem Kinderteller ist, zahlt man 16,80 Euro. Das finde ich mehr als frech und nachdem ich die Schichtführung darauf angesprochen habe, sagte man mir das man es gerne bei der Geschäftsleitung anspricht, aber die Preise ja auch vom Chef vorgegeben werden. Leider wird man bei der Bestellung auch nicht darauf hingewiesen, dass man beim Seniorenteller zwar eine halbe Portion bekommt, aber nur 2 Euro spart. Hier sollte die Preispolitik dringend überdacht werden. Auch die Bedienung könnte etwas flotter sein und sollte auf die angebotenen Speisen und Getränke in der Karte geschult werden. Bei jeder Frage musste die Bedienung erst mal nachfragen gehen und es dauerte dann immer sehr lange bis sie mit der Antwort wieder kam. Und dann kommt noch hinzu, dass man am Ende für den Parkplatz zwar das Ticket lt. Bedienung entwertet bekommt, am Automat dann aber feststellen muss, dass man nur 2 Euro Nachlass auf die Parkgebühr bekommt.

Ich bin zufällig vorbeigekommen, um Freunden hier in Frankenthal Hallo zu sagen und gemeinsam Weihnachten verbringen. Heute hatten wir Lust auf Steak und eines guten, selbstgemachten Bieres. "Brauhaus zur Post"hat alle unsere Wünsche erfüllt. Der Chef selbst ist "Gast-orentiert" und sehr sehr freundlich. Der kleine Italiener an Service war super nett und symphatisch. Ambiente sehr originell. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen und wir können es nur weiterempfehlen.

Dafür, dass das Essen noch mit 7% besteuert wird, sind die Preise ziemlich happig. 14,60€ für ein veg. Offenkartoffel während eine Schorle die mit 19% besteuert wird, nur 3,50 kostet.

Wir hatten einen schönen Donnerstag Abend, das Brauhaus war extrem voll, trotzdem hat das Essen nicht lange auf sich warten lassen. Aufmerksames und nettes Personal. Die Salatbar könnte etwas mehr Liebe aus Auswahlmöglichkeiten bekommen, sonst war es super!

Sehr schönes Ambiente, tolles, freundliches Personen. Essen schmackhaft und das Vorspeisenbufett zu den Hauptgerichten abwechslungsreich und sehr schmackhaft.

Entspricht im Wesentlichen allem, was man von einem typischen Brauhaus erwartet. Gute aber halt auch nicht überdurchschnittliche deftige Küche mit ein paar regionalen Pfälzer Spezialitäten, freundliches Personal und schneller Service. Schade nur, wenn man ohne vorherige Vorwarnung nach dem Essen mehr oder weniger gedrängt wird wieder zu gehen, weil der Tisch schon wieder für die nächsten Gäste reserviert ist.

Haben auf der Durchreise hier Rast gemacht. Parkplatz hinter dem Haus. Stilvoll restauriertes Brauhaus, am Tisch etwas (zu) schummrig. Freundliches aufmerksames Personal. Wir hatten Wurstsalat mit Bratkartoffeln sowie Schweinesteak mit Pommes und Salat vom Buffet. Alles schmackhaft und reichlich. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung.

Wir waren mit 4 Freunden im Brauhaus an einem Samstag Abend. Der Service war freundlich und flott unterwegs trotz vollem Lokal. Das Essen war in Ordnung aber leider für diese Preise nicht ganz das was man erwartet. Das Cordon bleu war von der Qualität gut, allerdings fehlte für die Preise einfach das gewisse etwas. Es ist solide und man kann es essen aber für 21,50€ erwartet man dann doch etwas mehr.

Super mooie moderne sfeervolle locatie(mooie tuin), hele vriendelijke bediening, heerlijk gegeten. Absolute aanrader.
