Excellent food, naturally very good beer, and a very appealing atmosphere. Surprisingly quiet acoustics despite the very large and high-ceilinged room. All in all, outstanding. Thank you very much.

The old historic gymnasium is really cool; sure, it has a bit of a "hall/canteen" feel, but you can have a good conversation there, and there's plenty of fresh air. The pork knuckle was large, crispy, and delicious, and the salad and Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were also very good. Since I only had a Russ (a non-alcoholic beer), which was okay, I can't comment on the original beer. The price/performance ratio is also good. So, recommended.

Today I was at the brewery for the first time in a few months. It was quite busy, and the service was correspondingly busy – but nothing unusual for a place of this size. Nevertheless, we waited more than 20 minutes for our food to arrive, and only after repeatedly raising our voices did the waiter arrive. The food was a complete disappointment. Blandly prepared, no flavor at all. I had a roast beef, which cost €29, and the size of the roast beef was a joke. 250 grams, and had no flavor at all. The fried potatoes were from a bag (Metro goods). The schnitzel, currywurst, and Maultaschen were also tasteless. The second round of drinks was taken but not served. After 20 minutes in a then half-full brewery, we paid and left. The waiters were more concerned with their phones and stories from Arabian Nights. We'll steer clear of this place in the future.

The best brewery in the world. Lots of old people hang out here, which says it all. We even went here twice during our vacation because it was simply delicious: the Käsespezle (cheese-spiced dumplings) was amazing, and the Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes) was absolutely delicious.

Good brewery food, as well as salads. Very good beer. A very pleasant atmosphere both inside and outside along the Nagold River. The venue is one of Baden-Württemberg's oldest gymnasiums, built around 1900 in the style of a three-aisled basilica. Service is friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately, my last visits to Brauhaus Schönbuch Calw were very disappointing. The value for money is no longer there at all – for the high prices, I expect significantly better quality. Instead, I feel like the dishes are deteriorating with each visit. The meat was fatty, bland in flavor, and didn't seem fresh or well-prepared. At times, I even had the feeling they were using ready-made products, which is simply unacceptable at this price level. I used to enjoy eating here (it's been a few years), but the quality has steadily declined. It's a shame, because the ambiance is actually nice – but I'm reluctant to pay for good food here these days.

It was the only place open since we arrived late (9:30 PM, where in Germany you have to have dinner at 7:00 PM), and they served us. There weren't many people, and we thought, "Did we make a mistake?" But it was a very large beer hall, which is difficult to maintain without good quality. We ordered schnitzel and currywrust. The schnitzel wasn't as outstanding as others; it was delicious. They gave us two pieces. The breading was crispy, though not as flavorful as others. But the currywrust... that was something else. We hadn't tried it before, and it was delicious. If the schnitzel portion was large, this one was even larger. The sauce had a unique flavor, with a hint of ketchup, but homemade, some spicy notes that add more flavor without overpowering it, and that smoky barbecue touch. Describing it is difficult; the best thing is to try it. It was so good that we ended up dipping the schnitzel in it. We were served by a slightly older waitress, who was very pleasant. They brought us the menu in English (which is rare in Germany), and she was very attentive throughout, with a friendly demeanor. When we returned to Cawl the next day, the place was packed, and it was clear that such a large place can't sustain itself with bad food. If you have no other options and want German food, I would definitely go here. In total, the price for everything was €37.50, very affordable for two people and for leaving with such a good meal.

Too few staff, although our waiter did his very best. We had unlimited spareribs; unfortunately, some were not very tender and were served with fries and ketchup, and our request for an extra portion took far too long. A shame because my tablemate's plate was already empty (it was a very tasty smash burger, highly recommended!). Good beer and a nice place, but because you don't see the staff often enough, or for so long, you don't feel the need to order extra drinks or dessert. We ended up ordering that elsewhere, which is a shame.

Great restaurant. It's an old building, but it's certainly sturdy 😉. The chairs are very comfortable, and there's plenty of room for everyone. I had a chicken burger (locally known as a burger under a similar name) with fries. The burger was delicious and was kindly held together by a wooden stick (very handy!). Each fries came with a sachet of ketchup and mayonnaise. -> I highly recommend it!

We love coming here, especially in the summer, as there's plenty of outdoor seating. The interior is very cozy, and the service is excellent. The food comes quickly and is highly recommended. The prices are fair, and all in all, it's a lovely place to eat.

It took more than 20 minutes to get our drinks and they refused to take our food order at the same time, so it took more than an hour from the time we sat down until our food was delivered. They weren't friendly.

It was recommended to me, so I stopped there for lunch. Food was nothing special. Greek tarte flambée was disappointing, lacking any particular flavor. Wow, the rice was good, the rest 2 stars. Lots of mosquitoes and a wasp nest visible on the annex above.

I was there with my daughter last Saturday evening when it was so hot. The food was delicious, and even though it was incredibly busy, it was really nice to sit there. The 5 stars for service go 100% to Sascha; he keeps the place running like clockwork. Even though he could charge mileage and takes on the work of his colleagues, he was always friendly and always had a funny saying. You could tell he loves his work and is passionate about it. I drove over an hour to Calw, and it was so worth it. We'll be back.

We booked inside because of reports of flies on the terrace. It was very hot inside, and with the doors open and no air conditioning, I think there were more flies than outside. The waiter was friendly and spoke Spanish to us. The older woman (waitress or owner) was very curt. The place was large, attractive, and centrally located.

We happened upon this place by chance on our way back from Lake Constance on a Friday, avoiding traffic, feeling hungry. It's a great atmosphere, right on the river, shaded by old trees and umbrellas. The food is excellent, with both classic dishes (lentils with spaetzle) and original dishes (rolled tarte flambée, falafel bowl). The daily menu is quite extensive. Relaxed, attentive service 👍 We'll definitely be back. The house-brewed beer is delicious!

The beer may be good, but the food was unfortunately very disappointing. We had a burger, salad, and beef cheeks. All three dishes were below average, not tasty, more like cafeteria fare. The cheeks were not good at all. Very greasy and tasteless. They are by no means worth the price. The burger seemed 100% convenience food: a ready-made breaded chicken patty in a home-bought bun with salad from a pre-packaged dish! A plus for the beautifully designed place. Maybe I'll go back for a beer sometime, but for the food: no! I'm glad I live in a place that serves incredibly delicious burgers that are 100% homemade with love!

Stopped in by chance while on vacation. We sat outside by the water, it was wonderful... Attentive service and the food was highly recommended. We had taken the special from the Schiefertal restaurant. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also fantastic. Be sure to check out the website (also for opening hours and menu). I had a brief chat with the owner, as we also have a brewery in Reutlingen, the Barfüsser. I told him that his offerings are more varied and, above all, better value for money, and his food and drinks are cheaper. If you're in the area during beautiful weather, it's definitely worth a stop. Enjoy!

I've been working in the catering industry for 6 years - I've been tired, sick or burned out during a shift, but I still always went to the guests, no matter how busy it was. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here. After 30 minutes of waiting, an unfriendly waiter took our order. We had to wait a long time for both the drinks and the finished food. One thing is for sure: I won't be coming back. I recommend hiring more staff and learning a little courtesy. Goodbye forever.

Nice for dogs - inedible for allergy sufferers. A beautifully decorated, obviously newly renovated restaurant with a stylish atmosphere. The terrace looked inviting - unfortunately you weren't allowed to sit there. There were several guests with dogs sitting inside. We stayed for about 10 minutes to read the menu, which was very appealing - three vegetarian dishes, nice lemonades. But after a short time I felt the first symptoms of my animal hair allergy: swollen lymph nodes, itching, and feeling unwell. My polite request to sit outside was only half-heartedly received. In the end they simply said: “No, it won’t work, a colleague slipped there.” Although the weather was good and there was no visible problem. We had to leave the restaurant without ordering - my daughter was disappointed and I was in poor health. I don't understand the trend that restaurants are increasingly catering to dogs as guests - as if restaurants were now more intended for four-legged friends than for people. Even for non-allergy sufferers, it is questionable whether flying animal hair in the dining room is really appetizing. Too bad. The potential would have been there. But consideration is also an ingredient – ​​and that was missing.

Meine höfliche Bitte, draußen sitzen zu dürfen, wurde nur halbherzig aufgenommen. Am Ende hieß es einfach: „Nein, geht nicht, eine Kollegin ist dort ausgerutscht.“ Obwohl das Wetter gut war und kein sichtbares Problem zu erkennen war. Wir mussten das Lokal ohne Bestellung wieder verlassen – meine Tochter war enttäuscht, ich gesundheitlich angeschlagen. Ich verstehe den Trend nicht, dass Lokale sich zunehmend auf Hunde als Gäste einstellen – als wären Restaurants inzwischen eher für Vierbeiner als für Menschen gedacht. Selbst für Nicht-Allergiker ist es fraglich, ob herumfliegende Tierhaare im Gastraum wirklich appetitlich sind. Schade. Das Potenzial wäre da gewesen. Aber Rücksicht ist auch eine Zutat – und die hat gefehlt.

The final conclusion anticipated... Location is recommended... But only with a lot of BUTs, because... 1) Extreme savings in personnel are made. Not that there isn't some. You just don't use it. This means: take time to order something... It can take 20 minutes...!Just order that. 2) Food is ok, tastes good. But definitely not the fried potatoes with bacon. Should actually be called oil potatoes... dripping with oil! Whoever and what had prepared it was by no means a chef! 3) As for the ambience... there's just a hall. Visually ok for the size, but shitty acoustics. Always an extremely screaming noise level. Curtains or pergola partitions to intercept this... none 4) Service compensated for everything negative. The food was incredibly carelessly prepared and I didn't like it at all. The Swabian plate had an unappetizing cream sauce, spaetzle just slapped on top, without a single side dish. Not even a slice of tomato... nor my son's food or the lentils on the brewery plate. A 40 gram piece of meat 😳🤦🏼‍♀️. The food was very very unloving and unfortunately had no taste. I definitely won't spend any more money on this. Things were much better last September. New chef???? He can't do anything 👎
