Nice place in the Nicolai neighborhood. Typical food of good quality, especially the braised shank. The service leaves a little to be desired due to the lack of friendliness. Average price for Berlin. I recommend it for a typical dinner

A ray of hope for Bavarian culture in the north. The Georgbräu is a full-bodied Helles beer – highly recommended and a nice change from the rather bitter Pilsner. The food is hearty, and I especially recommend the yeast dumplings (the rest probably are too, but I haven't tried them yet).

Good German cuisine with all the traditional dishes. Unfortunately, only Jever Fun is available as a non-alcoholic beer. The plates are large and plentiful. The outdoor seating is very nice.

A traditional German restaurant that brews its own beer (light or dark) and even its own cola! I recommend the pork knuckle... Slight eaters should refrain! The pumpkin velouté will do the trick! Not to be missed during a stay in Berlin. Be careful, the kitchen closes quite early...so don't arrive too late 😉

Surprisingly, it's not as expensive as expected or feared. If you can sit outside by the water, you also have a great view of the Berlin Cathedral.

The goulash wasn't seasoned at all and didn't taste of anything.

Great place. Thomas served our group of 10 perfectly. The beer garden right on the Spree River is very idyllic, yet you're still in the heart of the city. The food and home-brewed beer were great. The men's set menu of pork knuckle + beer + schnapps for €20 was also very tasty!

We had the chance to unwind at George Brauhaus in Berlin — and what a fantastic experience it was! 🍻 Their craft beer is genuinely impressive — smooth, flavorful, and brewed with care. We paired it with some snacks on the side, and surprisingly, the flavors took me straight back home. Imagine this: sitting by the riverside in Berlin, sipping beer, and munching on bites that reminded me of aloo ke gutke — yes, it really felt like that! 😂 The riverside setting added a beautiful, relaxing charm to the evening.

Friendly waiters. Drinks were served quickly. Depending on the dish, we had to wait up to 20 minutes. The establishment is comfortable and interesting. There are tables on the terrace by the river. I liked everything. Prices are moderate. The dishes are large, hearty and tasty. The beer is tasty without bitterness, easy to drink

The beer was delicious and the place was busy but our first beer glass sat empty for :20 or so minutes and about :20 min after we ordered our second they had still not arrived I asked for the bill. “What you don’t want your beer?” I would love it but I fear I will die of old age before I get it. We were a table of two competing with tables of 8-10. I understand how it works.

We ate at the GeorgBræu brewery and were thoroughly impressed. The food – roasted pork knuckle and beef goulash – was excellently prepared, very tasty, and hearty, just as you would expect from a traditional brewery. I would especially like to highlight the beer: the lager is highly recommended – fresh, drinkable, and perfect with the meal. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was quaint and cozy. I would definitely be happy to return. For anyone looking for authentic, down-to-earth cuisine and good beer in Berlin: an absolute must!

The home-brewed beer and the service are excellent. Our food was average and good value for money. We were there on a Friday evening with work colleagues. It was very loud in our room. The service closes at 10 p.m. The place is very popular with tourists, so it's best to make a reservation in advance.

The restaurant is large and clearly geared toward tourists. We had made a reservation in advance and specifically requested a table outside. Unfortunately, the outside seating was full when we arrived, so we had to sit inside. Given the beautiful weather, that was disappointing. The food itself was really good: the schnitzel was tender and crispy, the asparagus fresh and perfectly cooked. The price was also absolutely fair – the quality is top notch here. Less pleasing was the long wait for the food, and the noise level inside was quite high, which somewhat spoiled the experience. They also didn't serve Aperol, which is somewhat surprising for a tourist-friendly restaurant.

A classic brewery. Typical food and a good size. Unfortunately, the beer is very poor. They only serve light and dark beers. I had a lot of light beers. A lot of them, and a lot of schnapps, which is why I spent so much money.

Beautifully located directly on the Spree River, with the excursion boat dock only 5 minutes away. We only had a few drinks, and the staff was very friendly and quickly served us delicious beers.

Good food, served very quickly. Portions are large. Decent beer. Spree embankment, in the city center. I don't know if this place can be considered typical Berlin, but it's definitely worth visiting at the end of the day. Personal downsides - smoking on the veranda, but for some this will be a plus. I highly recommend it.

I would warmly recommend Georgbräu to anyone who enjoys good German food and, above all, a great beer, at an incredibly reasonable price for the location. The location is right on the Spree River between Museum Island and the TV Tower and is beautiful. Personally, I prefer the brewery cellar charm much more than the stylish restaurants in the area. We visited Berlin as tourists and were treated by the waiters like regulars. I now regret having always walked past it on my last visits to Berlin. From now on, I'll stop by at least for a mug of dark beer by the Spree.

All very good. The interior is beautiful. The service is punctual and friendly. The potato soup is excellent. I recommend asking to replace the mashed potatoes that are usually served as a side dish for the pork shank with potatoes. In my opinion they are better.

Two of us were there without a reservation on a Friday evening. We got a high table and were able to order food. It would have been better to warn people that the wait could be a good hour. Because between ordering and receiving, no waiter came to the table. The food was filling, but that was it, which is a shame, since it looked so good. There are enough pictures in the reviews. The knuckle of pork was bland and dry, the dumplings had no flavor, and the sauce was so watered down that it also had no flavor... The sauerkraut was great. The meatballs were good, the potato salad was something different but also very good. The beer was very tasty, fruity, and slightly bitter aftertaste. I wouldn't recommend it for the food, but I would recommend it for a cold beer on the terrace.

Here, you'll find average tourist fare. The dishes are expensive, and the staff seems unmotivated. But the beer is at a comfortable temperature...

The food is good, but there is room for improvement in the presentation of the dishes, at least in my experience, the fries were somewhat burnt and below the schnitzel, as well as part of the salad.

This is a must. Really good food and great service. We had the traditional Schwinehaxe and the own brewed beer. What a hit! The restaurant is located beautiful at the river Spree and at a very interesting area we’re you can visit the historical and important Nicolai church, that played a important role in the foundation of Berlin. I recommend a visit!

Depending on where you sit, the ambience inside is rustic or more “storeroom style”. The beer is not for my taste buds. The dark one lacks all the flavors I would expect in it. In the light I find a lime-like aroma.

A little too touristy. The food was only ok. The service is acceptable but not good either. They were impatient about taking the orders, they asked way too often if we wanted to order more, which gave us the feeling of “if you don’t wanna spend more money, just pay and leave”. There are better places in town for beer and traditional food.

OK food, good beer. Got food poisoning and was sick for 5 days after the visit. Fever, vomiting and had to stay home from work for several days. Food safety is not good! Took 45 minutes to get the food.

Delicious food, typical German fare for not too much money. Atmospheric (rebuilt) part of the city on the water. Has an authentic friendly atmosphere, much different from the atmosphere on Alexanderplatz just around the corner.

We had the pork schnitzel that just melts in your mouth. The restaurant was busy as located right at the side of the river with amazing afternoon / early evening sun. The staff were very helpful and super friendly as we came to expect in Berlin. If you are in the city this is a must!!

We waren opzoek naar een bierterras. Brauhaus Georgbraeu had die, maar helaas het weer speelde parten. Toch een leuk bezoek aan hun brouwerij café. Leuk ingericht met verschillende stekjes waar je kan zitten. Bediening was ook top en attent. We werden bedient door 'Toto' , qua stemgeluid en mimiek had hij een neef van Toto Wolff kunnen zijn.

My wife and I visited here on our trip from Australia. Fantastic staff service. The food and drink were delicious. We had a bratwurst with sauerkraut and potatoes, with a dark beer sauce, and it tasted awesome. Stop by and enjoy yourself.

Very well located place, typical German food and beer. Lots of space on the terrace to eat, the only bad thing is that they take a long time to serve you.

The schnitzel with fried potatoes was perfectly portioned – not too big, not too small – and delicately prepared. The fried potatoes were crispy and flavorful, the fresh salad provided a nice balance. The meatballs with potato salad impressed with their excellent quality: wonderfully tender, with a great consistency - homemade and fried to perfection. The bratwurst with coleslaw was also excellent and is in no way inferior to the other dishes. A highlight was also Georg's raspberry soda - fruity, refreshing and really tasty, although a tad too sweet for my taste. The other drinks were also consistently tasty and rounded off the meal perfectly. Conclusion: If you are looking for hearty Berlin cuisine in a cozy atmosphere, Georgbräu is the perfect place for you. We'd love to come back!

Food was really good, the staff wasn't always friendly

Large brewery in the middle of the Nikolaiviertel - we were there with a group of around 50 people after a city tour. Very successful evening and definitely suitable for such an occasion. I had Berlin pork knuckle with Molle and Korn. A little too fatty for my taste - I prefer knuckle with a crust, but it was also my first knuckle of pork. For dessert there were Berliner yeast dumplings on warm blueberries – really, really good! The beer (Märze) was also delicious. Cool: You can see how it's brewed in the cellar, and the brewing kettles are right in the guest room.

Restaurante ubicado en el barrio de S. Nicolás, el más antiguo de Berlín. Zona muy tranquila. Cenamos muy bien después de tomar unas cervezas en su preciosa terraza. Muy recomendable.

We sat at a very nice table by the Spree. Since it was a Wednesday afternoon, the crowd was low and the weather was summery. It felt nice until the service :) The waiters are generally Indian and the service is very, very slow. We asked for the beer to come with the meals, but of course they did not pay attention. The food came very late even though it was not busy, we waited for 45 minutes. The schnitzel turned out better than we expected, frankly we were very surprised, the potato salad was also good. The beers were okay, we drank hell beer as there was no dunkel left due to the hour. If you can ignore the waiting and slow service, I recommend it for the food and ambience.

Was very positively surprised, it was pleasantly full, the vibe was great and the waiters were extremely nice and accommodating. The prices are also extremely good, especially for the location. We paid €19 (plus tip) for two 0.4 beers and two glasses of wine. Definitely coming back!

Tourist trap. It's not a bad restaurant with classic German food, although they sneak it into your bill: - a glass of tap water is €2.5 and it is not listed anywhere - Coca Cola (not bottled) €3.4 and still - mandatory 10% tip….

Great restaurant with good food. Schnitzel with fried potatoes are recommended. Very nice staff, especially Bianca. She was very friendly, communicative and just enjoyed her work. When we asked how the house-made potato salad was made, we were given a sample. There are different types of Georgbräu - light, dark and special.

I’ve been here since 2018 and always the food was amazing. Last time they did a renovation and it’s looks so nice. I always eat here. Because in contrast to another traditional German beer points, here they cook, and they don’t just defrost what they bought at Metro. The beer is good. And especially nice in summer because you can seat next to water
