We had the meatballs with bread for lunch. They were homemade, and you could taste the difference. The Georg Helles beer was also very tasty. The service was extremely friendly.

Unfortunately, this time it was a disappointment. The orders, especially for beer and other drinks, took a very long time. When we asked, we were told there were more than 60(!) guests. Well, for a brewery, I would think that should be manageable.

I loved the beer very much, oherwise this would have been 1 star. The service sucks however. I think 10 tables filled (the place is much bigger than you think), end of October. It took very long to clean our table and take our order. The beers took also some time. And the Bratsel arrived when I almost finshed my beer (I took my time). They brew on the spot. Next time I just buy a bottle and sit next to the river.

The Hell beer was truly delicious 🍺, and we loved the meatballs served with mashed potatoes. The food, atmosphere, and service were all delightful. Even though we didn't have a reservation, they arranged a table for us within 5-6 minutes, which was a real treat. Definitely worth trying in Berlin!

Yes, the half duck with dumplings and red cabbage was truly as delicious as the picture suggests. It was truly plentiful and good value for money. I'd like to mention the delicious dark beer and the very friendly waitress. Top

Very nice location to sit. Nice atmosphere and the service was very good! The waiters were attentive but not pushy. The food was tasty and plenty. The beer was amazing!

Everything was great, except for the surreptitious 10% tip. The boiled pork knuckle was delicious, a perfect portion for two. If you're not drinking, you can get a free sparkling water instead. Nice atmosphere, good service, and reasonable prices. During weekday lunchtime, the restaurant was about 80% full. Orders and food were taken and served quickly, so we didn't have to wait too long. An interesting fact: there was a staff member outside the restroom to greet everyone. At the final checkout, the waiter confirmed our orders and quickly took the bill using a credit card. There was no receipt. Afterwards, the bill came to 30.22 euros, but I ended up paying 33.22 euros. I realized the tip had been added without permission. I've seen many people in the comments share the same experience. I had a good experience and was planning to tip. When I ordered a second glass of sparkling water, the waiter even reminded me of the extra charge. Unfortunately, the final checkout was a bit awkward. I recommend assuming this restaurant will charge a 10% service charge and accepting it.

Excellent food, quantity and fair price

Overall a good experience, have eaten here often. What I didn’t like was the waiter’s comment when presenting the bill “This is the price without service”. I doubt the staff is employed like waiters in the US (little to no actual pay, reliant on tips). You’re earning a wage. And tips should be an extra given out of appreciation, not because of obligation. I usually tip, and was about to. But that comment made me feel like this place is looking to become nothing but a tourist trap.

Very pleasant, typical brasserie on the banks of the river.

I've visited this place several times, and it never disappoints! The craft beer selection is fantastic, and the pork knuckle is incredibly tender—so much so that you almost forget it’s pork. This spot really captures the authentic Berlin vibe, and I highly recommend it. The only downside is that during busy times, service can be a bit slow because the waitstaff gets overwhelmed. But honestly, the food and atmosphere make the wait worthwhile!

Sorry, but let's start with the negative aspects. When we asked for the bill, the waiter came over to us – but without showing us the bill – and simply wanted us to pay the stated amount. I asked him to please add two euros plus the tip. He then explained that the tip was already included in the total. When I asked when I had told him to add a tip, he simply replied, "You can pay it either in cash or by card." I asked again why the tip was already included in the total without our consent. He then replied that he could "take it out again." In fact, he had arbitrarily added a 10% tip – without informing us beforehand and without showing us an invoice or receipt. In my opinion, such behavior is unfair, outrageous, and seems like a deliberate attempt to deceive or steal from us. This has nothing to do with good service, but is simply dishonest and disrespectful to guests. The food was okay, but we didn't really find it to be of high quality. The portions were quite large. The beer was very tasty.

I went out for dinner and a drink with a friend from Darmstadt today. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was excellent. It felt like the first beer was on the table in about 30 seconds 😅. The food is home-style cooking and very good, and variations of the menu are also possible. I highly recommend it!

Beer is great. Food is mediocre.

The food was below average, and the service was extremely slow, we waited a long time for our meals. The place was full of bees and flies, making it uncomfortable to eat. When we finished, no one cleared our plates for over 15 minutes, leaving us surrounded by flies. On top of that, they added a €5 tip to the bill without informing us. Definitely not a pleasant experience.

The tastiest beer ever! Except for Uerige, because I'm from Düsseldorf. The pork knuckle with Korn and beer from the menu is absolutely delicious. You could eat it several times in a week 😉. We were there last night, we had a great meal, the waiter was attentive and quick, so we decided to return tonight. Unfortunately, the blonde waitress, despite seeing us over and over again, after more than twenty minutes of waiting, did everything she could to not serve us. Maybe she didn't like us. We left. It's a shame because the food is good.

30 minute wait from order of food to still waiting. Was sat on a table next to the building outside and rats jumped on our table. Not offered other drinks or attempted to clean the table. Apparently it's my impatience about the food yet we saw multiple tables sit down and order food and drinks, served after us. Shame really as the setting is amazing.

The waiter who served us was very unfriendly, he didn't serve us well, he refused to let us sit inside the place (there were a lot of wasps outside) and due to his mistake (perhaps intentional) the food took more than an hour to arrive. After this incident, the waiters who served us, who let us eat inside the place, were very kind and gave us dessert, a very good apple strudel.

When I asked the weither can I tip him when paying with card, he said the tip was already included. Nothing about that in the menu, so I asked for the print receipt only to find put put in a 4€ tip and charged me without even consulting me. Even though I would have thiped the similar amount, this makes me feel cheathed. Too bad, otherweise I would have given 5 stars since the food was great, and the beer was OK too.
