We just wanted to come for lunch with a friend and were more than pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, Swabian, more than worthy of a brewery restaurant, extremely tasty and freshly prepared. My wife eats low carbohydrates..."no problem at all, let's replace the fried potatoes with a fresh salad"....and, and, and. The service was extremely friendly, we were greeted extremely friendly as soon as we walked in and the “quick coffee” beforehand took less than 3 minutes. It worked like clockwork. All in all it was a very pleasant stay, very friendly staff, very good food and excellent beer. We'll definitely be back!!!

Modern but rustically furnished inn with an attached brewery. We liked the quality of the food, especially the meat dishes. Side salads, for example, are served with their own “beer dressing”, something different. The fries are also special because they are really airy on the inside, great! Although the price is okay, the portions could perhaps be a bit more generous - that would actually be our only criticism. We were all happy and would come back if we were in the area again.

Conclusion: Well suited for drinking. Not for eating. The ambience is rustic and invites you to feel good. However, I find the prices of the food quite outrageous in relation to the portion sizes: just under 16 euros for a few potatoes, a few chunks of vegetables and tomato sauce doesn't make sense to me. Regional or not. Especially since the taste wasn't so convincing that I thought the price was justified: it tasted rather salty, like frozen vegetables with canned tomato sauce. Too bad. The service was generally good. However, we were thrown out without warning: While one of our group was still sitting on his drink and the rest of us were considering ordering again, we were made aware that the table was needed. When asked when, they said, “It's best to do it immediately. The others are already there.” We were not offered an alternative, such as moving to another table. Here I would have liked it to have been clearly communicated to us from the outset that the table would be reserved from a certain time onwards. Or that we would have been notified 20-30 minutes before the next reservation was due. Unfortunately, I was too surprised to notice it right away. And yes, we had a reservation and weren't there just by chance.

We were there with a reservation with 18 people. Unfortunately, the very friendly service was overwhelmed. The restaurant was full and there was a lot of incorrect and incomplete service. The food was very disappointing. The Flädlesuppe had no taste, the braised beef was tough as leather. A cordon bleue was almost raw and was returned. The sauces were all completely tasteless. Almost everyone added more salt. The meat on the castles (pork loin steaks???) was tough and could only be eaten with a knife and fork. Unfortunately, the spaetzle had nothing in common with fresh and homemade spaetzle, at best they were mediocre goods from the wholesaler. Even when paying, one of the three tables we were divided into was forgotten. The great ambience of the brewery alone was convincing and makes you want to visit again.

Wir hatten einen Tisch vor reserviert, war auch gut. Wir hatten Flädlesuppe, Zwiebelrostbraten, Gulasch und Salat. Das Essen war sehr gut, wurde heiß serviert, obwohl sehr viele Gäste da waren war das Essen recht schnell da, wir hatten uns auf eine längere Wartezeit eingestellt. Die Preise waren für die Qualität und Regionalität der Produkte in Ordnung.

Very nice restaurant with friendly staff and of course very good beer! Tried a few varieties! The food was also really tasty, we had pork knuckle and goulash. The meat was buttery soft and the side dishes were great too! Very good price-performance ratio!

In short - warmed food. This wasn't what we had imagined. A pork knuckle was ordered (refreshingly fried according to the menu) and it was served within 10 minutes. Sure, the waiting time for a freshly grilled knuckle is far longer, but this knuckle was only warmed, the crust was not crust but rubber. Changing the order from potato salad to a bread dumpling was also charged extra. The 2nd meal ordered was a Cordon Bleu. Definitely warmed, dry, bland, the breading didn't look appetizing. I would guess microwave. We were then offered an espresso on the house which we accepted. Definitely not a recommendation!

Meine Frau und ich kommen jedes Jahr 2-3 mal aus Magstadt in Gasthaus. Es hat uns bis jetzt immer gefallen. Der Service ist sehr gut. Sehr nett unf hilfsbereit usw. Meisten esse ich eine Schweinshaxe , die man nicht oft in Gasthäuser bekommt . Diese Schweinshaxe war bis jetzt immer sehr gut , aber dieses Mal muss ich sagen war ich enttäuscht. Vom Geschmack sehr gut , aber wenn ich eine Schweinshaxe esse , da hätte man roch gerne eine knusprige grosse Hautkruste . Leider war das zum zweiten Mal nicht der Fall . Ich hoffe , wenn wir beim nächsten Besuch Ihres Gasthauses bei der Schweinshaxe so eine knusprige grosse Haut bekommen , ansonsten können wir uns dann den weiten Weg dparen . Wie immer war das Essen hervorragend und das Ambiente auch mit Kind sehr angenehm. Negativ überrascht hat uns dieses Mal leider der Service. Nachdem man mehrfach nach einem Kinderstuhl gefragt hat, wurde dieser leider nie gebracht, so dass wir diesen selbst ausfindig und holen mussten. Ebenfalls wurde das schmutzige Geschirr nach dem Essen fast 45 Minuten nicht abgeräumt und nach erfolgter Bitte, diese doch bitte abzuräumen, wurde man ermahnt das Geschirr beim nächsten mal nicht zu stapeln. Also hätten wir dieser Ansicht nach 45 Minuten bei warmen Temperaturen an einem vollgestellten Tisch mit leeren Tellern sitzen sollen. Fanden wir leider ziemlich unangebracht.

The beer is just great. All the different varieties are delicious, high-quality products. I don't doubt the high quality of the food - given they declare where the ingredients come from - but the vegetarian options are just plain. Kässpätzle that don't taste like anything (at least not like proper cheese) and a beetroot burger whose thin patty tastes like fat, but not like beetroot. The salads were great. Please improve your vegetarian options! Inside, the location is really nice. Outside it's also pretty but next to a surprisingly loud street with trucks coming by every minute. Staff was friendly and quick.

However, when I asked if we could sit directly next to the entrance in the outdoor area under the eaves, this was refused despite the fact that there was outside seating and without any further explanation. Despite the long tradition that people are so proud of, the basic idea of ​​an inn seems to have been completely lost. We have been there several times. After this experience we will definitely never come back. Addendum: All the doors to the outside area were wide open (even though it was raining, it was at least 25 degrees outside). The requested seats were right next to the exit in the roof area, perhaps 2m as the crow flies from the nearest occupied seat in the indoor area. Care for the employees is with all due respect, but the argument is not really convincing. I imagine that the service lady I asked was also very uncomfortable giving me this information from her shift manager, who she had to ask for permission. In my opinion, she would have had no problem serving us.

Beer is sometimes served in steins, which are half filled with foam. Unfortunately, the QR codes for ordering at the table do not work. Not worth a visit.

Battery installed back uncharged. Now a beer. Even when we politely complain by raising our hands and making eye contact, we are actively ignored. I'm hungry and thirsty. So we pack up and drive to the hotel restaurant not far away. There we got a mountain of beer and good food. Unfortunately, it is completely incomprehensible why the reviews are so good (please look at the review as a whole). We had guests who would like to enjoy the typical Swabian cuisine. We come from a wider area and have never been here ourselves. Since not much is open on a Monday, we took the opportunity to finally test it out (also because of its reputation). My dish (which is also the most expensive as far as I've seen) was the onion roast medium fried for €27.90. The meat arrived well cooked, but was surprisingly still fairly tender, but that shouldn't happen with a "flagship" and this price - I saved myself from making a complaint (also due to the lack of service). The fried onions that came with it were sticky and without any crunch (like leaving the container of fried onions open for a week). Maybe you put the onions in a steamer to keep them warm and they absorbed moisture (which would also explain the doneness of the meat). The sauce for the onion roast was tasteless, watery, without body and simply suitable for a dish like this - with a meal like this the dish lives from the “boom” of the sauce and in my case had no recognition value as a good dish from Swabian cuisine! I'll mention the spaetzle to my dish at the end, because out of 6 people, five of us had spaetzle dishes. Consistent opinion: they were absolutely nothing! I myself would say that these were not homemade and if they were, then the chef has mastered the art of being able to conjure up something homemade as a ready meal. At least they were prepared - some of them stuck together in lumps, had no bite and they never saw any salt. They were simply tasteless (one statement from 5 people can't be wrong). The remaining dishes were also not convincing and do not recommend another visit. At the end of the service (on my initiative) that she should please say hello to the kitchen and say that this was an absolute failure. The only statement was: “I’m sorry!” Without asking what was wrong, she left - you can't improve like that and unfortunately you have to report what was wrong in this way, which is a shame! There is rarely a moment where there is no tip, but this was one of those moments. My guess for all the good reviews is that there is simply a lot of through traffic from bicycle groups and the crowd (for a quick drink and quick service) quickly gives good reviews. Unfortunately for me/us it was the worst experience of Swabian cuisine we have ever had, we won't be coming back and definitely don't recommend it! Our visit was on August 12, 2024

Wir lieben die Brauereigaststätte und die Biere von Berg sind einfach unsere Lieblingsbiere. Jedoch ist das Essen (ausser die Haxe) höchstens zufriedenstellend. Die Käsespätzle waren eine reiner Mehlpapp. Von Käse nichts zu schmecken.

What the Swabians should normally be able to do has really backfired here. The Allgäu sausage salad was nothing. The cheese was hard and you had to season everything. It's better to sit in the kitchen at home and make it yourself. I won't even get started on the lentils with spaetzle... There's only so much you can say: THANK YOU that the lentils were NOT cooked through and that it upset your stomach. Conclusion: The ambience is impressive, but nothing more.

The sausage salad was completely bland and tasteless, the cheese was dry and hard. The sausage tasted like the cheapest salad sausage from the discount store and the dressing didn't deserve that name. Everything was missing: salt, pepper, everything. The only positive thing was the spelled bread roll, which was still warm, which was really good! Sausage salad - put 6. An absolute disgrace. Anyone who thinks that this can't be surpassed: Yes, it can be done. The lentils were completely inedible, hard, undercooked and not swollen, which is absolutely essential for this dish! The taste of the sauce can be debated, but it didn't suit our taste. The spaetzle had more of a pasta consistency; Spaetzle are either “scraped or printed”. Anyone who knows Swabian cuisine also knows this difference. Neither nor. Tasteless and bland, everything gave the very impression of convenience products. But serving these lentils like this is really a complete disgrace. It should be obvious that raw lentils swell in your stomach - as does the stomach ache you get from them. Half of both dishes went back, apart from the strings and the Weckle. When we asked the service staff, we were told that they would pass it on. No concession, nothing, instead the full bill. A complaint during the meal would not have been possible because there was no inquiry whatsoever. For the prices quoted, the quality offered is a disgrace! Definitely not again. No recommendation from us!

Beautiful place to stop for a break on the beer hike! If you want to drink one of the various and delicious mountain beers comfortably in summer, the terrace is definitely the place to be... ... and for big fans (like me) there is also the devotional shop to stock up on.

Wir waren nicht zum ersten und natürlich auch nicht zum letzten Mal dort. Als Clubmitglied unterstützen wir diesen Ort natürlich öfter mal im Jahr. Wie immer hat alles gepasst und keiner musste hungrig oder durstig nach hause

We booked the brewing course at Brewery Berg and were not disappointed. After the introduction, we started brewing the beer. Then lunch: Schwienshaxe with potato salad was very good! Afterwards we visited the Berg brewery. After vespers we bottled the brewed beer 🍺 (it is still stored at home). All I can say is “Thank you for the lovely day!”

Eine sehr schöne Location. Da freut man sich so richtig auf Bier und ein deftiges Mittagessen. Der Service ist freundlich, das Bier sowie hervorragend. Aber das Essen ... !!! Wir hatten Schweinsbäckle mit Bratkartoffeln bestellt. Es dauerte gefühlt eine Ewigkeit, bis wir das Essen bekamen; unser Bier war schon fast getrunken und der Rest davon bereits warm, obwohl das Lokal nicht mehr stark besucht war. Da denkt man schon einmal an Convinience Food. Die Schweinsbäckle waren völlig zäh und damit ungenießbar. Die Bratkartoffeln langweilig. Schließlich haben wir das fast komplette Essen abservieren lassen. Selbstverständlich haben wir dem Service den Grund dafür genannt. Zum Trost haben wir uns dann in Ehingen einen sehr guten Eiskaffee genehmigt. Der Tag war damit gerettet.

Es war nicht der erste Besuch und ganz sicher auch nicht der letzte! Schönes Ambiente, guter, sehr freundlicher und schneller Service und vor allem gutes Bier - in allen Variationen. Zusätzlich möchte ich noch lobend erwähnen, dass sich unsere Reservierung kurzfristig in der Personenzahl erhöht hat und wir dann auch noch wegen einer Panne erst verspätet vor Ort waren. Das alles wurde mit einem freundlichen "Das bekommen wir schon hin" vom Service kommentiert - dafür vielen vielen Dank!! Beste Grüße und bis zum nächsten mal!

Great food, always consistent quality

Da ich Clubmitglied im Berg Bier Club bin, habe ich 6 Bekannte aus Mainz zum Essen eingeladen. Die Reservierung erfolgte problemlos, als wir ankamen wurde uns auch angeboten uns einen Tisch im Freien auszusuchen. Da aber lediglich ein Tisch für 7 Personen in der prallen Sonne frei war, zogen wir es vor innen Platz zu nehmen. Als das Essen gebracht wurde, mussten wir auf die einzige kalte Speise (Wurstsalat) am längsten warten. Zwei Portionen Kässpätzle wurden nur lauwarm serviert, nach deren Reklamation aufgewärmt. Ausserdem wurden die dazugehörigen Salate nicht serviert. Beim Treberschnitzel fehlte der entsprechende Geschmack. Bisher war ich eigentlich immer ein zufriedener Gast. Aufgrund der vorgenannten Punkte muss ich mir überlegen, ob ich meine Gäste nochmals mitbringe. ohne dass ich mich hierfür nachher entschuldigen muß. Daher muß ich die nachfolgende Frage verneinen.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, gutes Essen. Schade war, dass bei sechs Gästen drei Essen so spät kamen dass die anderen fast fertig mit Ihrem Essen waren.

Ich bin nun schon zum wiederholten Male in der Brauereiwirtschaft gewesen und kann sie ohne Einschränkung sehr weiterempfehlen. Die Serviceleitung Heike und ihr ganzes Team geben immer alles, damit man sich als Gast wohlfühlt. Der Service ist immer schnell, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam - das Rundumwohlfühlpaket. Das Essen ist auch immer wieder sehr lecker und das Bier ist natürlich unschlagbar - ich bin immer sehr gern in Berg!!!

Wir haben heute in der Bergbrauerei zu Mittag gegessen. Der Zwiebelrostbraten war sehr gut, aber ein kleines Fleischstück. Die Forelle war prima etwas zu viel Hollandaisesoße für mich. Bratwurst mit Kartoffelsalat war lecker und eine große Portion. Wir tranken ein paar Biersorten um alles zu testen. Prosit. Es schmeckte sehr lecker. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Gerne kommen wir wieder. Vielen Dank.
