Definitely in our top 5 favorite restaurants in Rostock—even though this was our first time there. Great, very friendly service, extremely delicious food at reasonable prices and with great quality. Children are warmly welcome, and this is perhaps the best children's menu I've seen so far, with very family-friendly prices and excellent quality. Thank you for the wonderful experience! We'll be coming back often now 😊

It was very nice again, but the fact that you made a reservation and then had to wait another 20 minutes wasn't so nice. And then not even a drink on the house

We were guests at a family celebration. This was very extensive and lasted until 2 a.m. Excellent with all courses and drinks. Friendly and attentive until the last minute. Thank you to the Borwin team.

The Boavin restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere and very good service. The fish was excellent, as was the wine and dessert. Unfortunately, the tomato salad was far too cold, which greatly affected the enjoyment. In response to my complaint, a cucumber salad was brought to me as a replacement without asking, which I found to be inappropriate. Unfortunately there was no apology. Overall it was ok, but a second visit is unlikely.

Super tasty and fresh; I really didn't think salmon and teriyaki would go so well together.👍 Condition tried, but a little too often for me 😅 Be sure to reserve seats - I didn't think so many people would show up after 5 p.m. 🙈

Based on the recommendation and the positive reviews, we planned our Valentine's Day at Borwin. The restaurant makes a very good impression. Lots of cozy seating areas and the menu promises a pleasant evening. Unfortunately we were given a table where we heard deafening noise from the kitchen. Working at the counter was also extremely loud, so we had to keep interrupting our conversation. It was also extremely annoying that the audience and the service were walking past us extremely closely behind us. The light at the table itself was very dark, which made it difficult for me to read the menu. You would have to think about whether you want to do that to your guests. The service was very friendly and helpful. To eat yourself. The fish was excellent. Only the side dishes didn't taste great. Sticky fried potatoes with no particular taste. Vegetables partly bitter and with a sauce? poured over it which tasted like nothing. The rice with mushrooms was also very bland. The presentation of the dish on the plate was good.

Very rustic restaurant right at the Rostock harbor. We made a reservation in advance by phone because we were traveling with a dog, but that wasn't a problem and the lady on the phone was extremely nice. Cozy atmosphere with lots to look at. The waitress was very attentive and even brought our dog some water. The menu has a wide selection, primarily fish. We had oysters and scallops as starters. Unfortunately my wine was forgotten, but after asking, it came immediately. The starter was excellent and is highly recommended. We had to wait quite a long time for our main course and were a bit disappointed as the Surf & Turf was “just” a lobster tail which didn’t contain much meat. At a price of €49 we would have expected a little more but there was nothing wrong with the taste! Only that the portion was a bit small in our opinion. In the case of the “Surf & Turf” pasta, I would say that the meat was not fillet meat, because it was simply too “tough” to bite. In summary, this restaurant is really a recommendation because we definitely enjoyed it, even if it didn't meet all of our expectations.

Prima Essen, super Service , der nicht 0815 ist und ein sehr authentischer Ort. Preise sind nicht unbedingt niedrig , das Preis - Leistungsverhätnis stimmt unserer Meinung nach aber. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Das Essen im Borwin war wunderbar! Leckeres Tatar und ein wunderbares Steinbeisserfilet rundeten den Abend ab. Dazu eine sehr kompetente Bedienung, die auch gern bei der Weinauswahl behilflich war. Fazit: Sehr zu empfehlen! …und unbedingt reservieren!

Unfortunately, the service (and a little bit of the food) was extremely poor. The service has now become very flat with the "head waitress" who comes across as extremely artificial and fake. The “boss” shouts at the employees/colleagues and is totally acting up. We miss Gunnar! The service was still served with heart.

A cozy but elegant fish restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and unobtrusive service, which I really appreciate. The food is beautifully presented and tasty, but I expected a bit more variety of Baltic fish on the menu.

Nice and cozy location and friendly service. The food was well rounded and beautifully presented. A diverse selection of spirits and wines. Toilet 🚽 clean. In terms of price, you can expect dishes to start at around 20 euros.

The inconspicuous famous shop on the river bank has relatively high meal prices, but the business is still very good. The mixed seafood platter, salmon pasta, and risotto are delicious, but the curry pasta is a pity that it is too sweet.

We were there spontaneously on December 31st. eat for three. It was a great evening with good service recommendations. The main courses were great. We had three different fish dishes and all were very good. I/we can simply recommend it. Thank you for the great evening.

Das beste Restaurant der Stadt! …und deshalb sollte man unbedingt vorher reservieren! Frischer Fisch, schmackhafte Beilagen (der Ruccola-Salat ist ein Gedicht) und eine freundliche Bedienung rundeten das Geschäftsessen positiv ab. Sehr zu empfehlen!

We were here once 2 years ago and again today. The food here still tastes as great as last time and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. If you are in Rostock, a visit to the Borwin harbor restaurant is a must, at least for us.

So far everything was fine...unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the food, even though the shop was quite empty. Price-performance doesn't really fit...The restaurant is also clean, but there is room for improvement...cutlery was dirty and the glasses could have been clearer.

We interrupted our return journey by train from Stralsund to Berlin in Rostock for 3 hours to eat here. Arrived at the restaurant at 3:50 p.m. and our anticipation was suddenly dampened - on the folding board in front of the entrance it says "kitchen break from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m." The friendly waitress specifically asked in the kitchen whether anything else would be possible. Unfortunately no, was the answer. It's a shame, so we had to make do with a steakhouse chain nearby. What's particularly annoying for us, however, is that Google shows continuous opening times from 12:00 - 0:00 on this page.

Der Besuch lohnt sich! Kommen oft aus Hamburg angereist. Das Borwin ist für uns ein MUSS in Rostock. Sehr gemütliches Ambiente, sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung, sehr gutes Speisen- und Getränkeangebot auf hohem Niveau! Es ist immer wieder ein tolles Erlebnis. Auch bei wachsender Konkurrenz werden wir das Borwin weiterhin sehr gern besuchen und freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal.

Das Borwin ist ein hervorragendes Restaurant mit einer Vielzahl von super leckeren Fischgerichten. Fleischgerichte findet man ebenfalls auf der Karte. Die Damen und Herren im Service sind sehr freundlich und immer aufmerksam. Im Borwin fühlt man sich als sehr wohl und erlebt einen schönen Abend.

Whenever we are in Rostock, Borwin is a must for us. We love it there. The service is great, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is cozy, great view of the water, a double pleasure on the terrace, especially in summer. Price performance is absolutely right here. I generally recommend a reservation ☝🏻

Nach langer Abstinenz wegen eines enttäuschten Besuchs im Borwin eine erneute Chance gegeben. Wir wurden sehr angenehm überrascht. Die Begrüßung war herzlich, uns wurde das Service- Personal vorgestellt. Getränke und Speisen kamen im angemessenen Zeitraum, Fisch war auf den Punkt gegart, Beilagen ( Stampfkartoffeln und Bohnen) frisch zubereitet, angenehm wenig gewürzt und sehr reichlich. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, unaufdringlich und freundlich. Ambiente zum Wohlfühlen und Entspannen. Danke, das Team arbeitet auf einem hohen Niveau. Wir werden wieder öfter dieses Restaurant besuchen.

The loup de mer was perfectly cooked, with a delicate, flaky texture and a subtle, slightly sweet flavor that was simply delightful. The crispy skin added a satisfying contrast, seasoned just enough to bring out the fish’s natural taste without overpowering it. Paired with the rosemary potatoes, which were golden and aromatic, this dish struck an ideal balance. The rosemary infused the potatoes with a savory depth that complemented the fish beautifully.

Auch diesmal vom Eintreffen bis zum Verlassen des Restaurants waren wir sehr zufrieden. Freundlich am Empfang und bei der Bestellung, die Speisen waren frisch zubereitet und ließen keine Wünsche offen. Dankeschön für einen gelungenen Abend

A nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service at the Rostock marina. We had fish soup, zander and loup de mer with side dishes, which were recommended by the house Pinot Blanc from Burgenland. The fish soup was pleasingly deep in flavor and creamy on the tongue - a perfect starter on cold days. While the pike perch came out of the kitchen a bit dry and tough and the fried potatoes weren't particularly crispy, loup de mer was exquisitely prepared.

Wir waren wieder mal im Borwin und es ist immer noch empfehlenswert. Das Essen war super; wir hatten - wie immer - nichts auszusetzen.

Very nice restaurant. You have to experience it. Food was very tasty. However, the fish portion in the Baltic Sea menu was for the tooth. For the price the zander is really small ‼️but tastes very good. The cod with mustard sauce was delicious and the portion was also OK. But a lot of money for almost 26 euros. The dish is cheaper in Ribnitz in der Zees. The Aperol Spritz for 11.90 euros is also a hit. Elsewhere you can get it for 7.90 euros... Well, here you're probably paying for Rostock as the location. It worked with a voucher 😉. But to be fair, you have to say it's a cute restaurant with delicious, upscale food. The staff is super nice and really cares about the well-being of the guests. The atmosphere is also really good.

Wir haben hier richtig lecker gegessen. Frischer Fisch (Steinbeißer und Kabeljau) mit sehr leckeren Beilagen nach Wahl. Vorab hatten wir sehr leckere Suppen. Vom Haus gab es vorab noch leckeres Brot mit Ajoli und Olivenöl, der richtig lecker war. Wir haben gleich eine Flasche gekauft. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Ein tolles Restaurant direkt am Wasser. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder,. Auch für Vegetarier gut geeignet.

Wir waren auf Empfehlung eines guten Freundes das erste mal im Borwin und können die Empfehlung absolut nachvollziehen. Meiner Frau wurde an der Tür direkt die Jacke abgenommen und wir wurden zum Platz geleitet. Die Bedienung war in Sachen Freundlichkeit und Service kaum zu übertreffen. Nach kurzer Zeit haben wir dann unsere Bestellung aufgegeben: als Vorspeise die Hummersuppe und die gebratenen Scallops. Als Hauptgang haben wir uns für die Surf and Turf-Pasta sowie das Zanderfilet in Kräuterkruste entschieden. Wir haben schon viele Restaurants in Rostock ausprobiert, doch so gut wie im Borwin haben wir bisher noch nicht gegessen. Eine absolutes Top-Lokal.

Wie waren zum ersten Mal im Borwin. Die Speisekarte im Internat war jetzt nicht so üppig; aber wir hatten Lust, wieder mal was Neues auszuprobieren. Und die Überraschung: das Tagesangebots an Frischfisch war so umfangreich, dass man sich fast nicht entscheiden konnte. Das Essen war super; der Service hervorragend, das Ambiete toll. Bei dem Angebot muss man wiederkommen.

The food was good. The female service employees were very friendly, but one gentleman was very unsympathetic and should not be let loose on the guests. You could have been a little more alert, but good, the restaurant was also very busy. The atmosphere was too busy for me. Unfortunately it wasn't comfortable at all, everything was very narrow and very loud. Nothing to stay there any longer. Dogs are welcome.

Very quaint restaurant with a good small menu. Unfortunately, the space is rather tight, and also very loud and uncomfortable. If you don't eat fish, you get a small selection but it's enough! Our dog was warmly welcomed and greeted with fresh water. The service was a bit slow, but that was probably because the restaurant was full. Our service staff was great, friendly, charming and funny... just a good service staff! I wouldn't come back because it's more of a fish restaurant. I was there with fish fans!

A harbor restaurant as you would expect: warm welcome, nice atmosphere, excellent selection of fresh fish and other dishes. We chose the Rostock menu and were very impressed with the portion size and taste. Enjoyed a fresh Lugana. The prices are reasonable and we are happy to pay that for the overall package. Gladly again!

A wonderful restaurant. The service is super child friendly. The view is really a dream from the terrace. We were guests at a wedding and were really impressed by the service, the ambience and the food was really, really tasty. There is only no changing facility on site. But we were able to make do with the large wash basin.

We became aware of the restaurant following a recommendation from passers-by. It was independently recommended by 3 nice people standing at the traffic lights when we asked for a fish restaurant in Rostock. Regardless of the quality of the food, fish fried to perfection, fried potatoes crispy and salad with one of the tastiest dressings I have ever been served with a fish dish, waitresses who do their job with passion. Thank you to the kitchen crew, the service crew and the management for this successful evening in a maritime atmosphere. And the sweet tapas for dessert were indescribably delicious, fish soup and vitello tonnato... a "dream"

Borwin surprised us VERY positively. We were there last Saturday with the whole family. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was creatively presented, high quality and very tasty and the atmosphere was cozy and sociable. The hut was already full at 6:30 p.m. Be sure to reserve!

Wir sind zufällig auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen, da wir dort nur etwas fragen wollten. Die Freundlichkeit, das Ambiente, der leckere Geruch schon Mittags hat uns so angesprochen, dass wir spontan Abends einen Tisch dort reserviert haben. Wir wurden wieder super freundlich empfangen, bekamen einen tollen Tisch auf der Dachterrasse und konnten so, die wirklich überragend leckeren Speisen und Getränke bis spät Abends draußen genießen. Von der Kürbis-Kokos-Suppe als Vorspeise, über die Tagesempfehlung mit 2 auswählbaren Beilage und das warme Schokoküchlein als Dessert bis hin zu den leckeren Drinks, alles war ausgezeichnet und geschmacklich hervorragend. Natürlich nicht ganz günstig, aber für Lage, Ambiente, Service, Speisen und Getränke völlig in Ordnung. Wir sind begeistert, hatten einen wunderbaren Abend und kommen gerne nochmal, wenn wir mal wieder in Rostock sind. Können das Restaurant Borwin nur empfehlen!
