Bistro Augustus in Bernkastel-Kues

Arrived at the door on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Closed the door, knocked and called. There was no response, although staff members could be seen from outside and noises and one's own calling could be heard. Went back after calling 4 times.

Unmotivated and a poor price/performance principle We ate in the Ratskeller on October 27th, 24 based on a recommendation. The waiter was very unfriendly, unmotivated and simply ignorant. The steak died for the second time that evening. Without asking, it was more than cooked through and when I asked about it, I got a stroppy answer. There were initially no sauces for the children's fries. The bottle of wine we ordered was carelessly placed on the table and we were allowed to do the rest ourselves. Some questions or requests were not responded to. Conclusion: no recommendation with such poor service, the ambience is nice, but the room is very noisy

In principle the food was delicious, but unfortunately the fried potatoes were cold

Service, ambience, background music and everything else could be greatly improved. Despite drinking plenty of fluids, we didn't feel full after one main course. The ambience feels like a visit to a library. Nobody speaks or whispers….not very pleasant for a nice evening. If there are no more places available elsewhere...then yes...otherwise no.

We were here for the second time today and were very impressed. The first time we had the “Schietwetter goulash”, today a “cordon bleu” and a Jerusalem artichoke soup. Not only is the food really great, but also the service staff, especially the boss. We'll definitely be back!! Were there for the 3rd time today. Definitely wanted to try the schnitzels. They would be great! We can 100% recommend the Jerusalem artichoke!
