The beer hall is a very small restaurant. In summer, you can sit outside, although there aren't many seats. You're sitting in the middle of the pedestrian zone, but it's worth going there. The food is good. The schnitzels are highly recommended. Friday is schnitzel day; they taste really great, and the sauce and salad are delicious too, everything is fresh. I can only recommend it. 🙂👍top.

Solid, but not outstanding. The food isn't bad, but it's a bit overpriced: I find almost €20 for a burger from the freezer (presumably) too steep. The same goes for non-homemade cheese spaetzle. The Maultaschen are delicious. The pub is very quaint, and you can sit outside in the summer. But unfortunately, it's always too crowded (which, admittedly, is generally a good sign), even on a Monday night. We made a reservation for 15 people and were crammed into a table for 8, and the food arrived staggered for everyone... This was the second time like this. Suffering from success? Wouldn't come back anytime soon, at least not with a large group.

The food is really delicious :D The ambience is rustic and pleasant, but the tables are quite small so you can hardly get your legs under them (all in all, everything is quite crowded).

In a rustic atmosphere, delicious “home cooking” is served here at fair prices. Since word gets around about quality and the cozy restaurant is rather small, I strongly recommend making a reservation in advance.

Great, small and rustic inn with good Swabian cuisine. You feel very comfortable and the food was delicious. I had a currywurst with fries but here too it was little things like the fried onions that really enhanced the dish. I have to go by again to test the homemade Maultaschen.

All good, but rather average. We went to the beer hall because of the good reviews and were disappointed. The service was extremely good and polite. But the food was average and the decor was close to "worn" rather than rustic. In my opinion, the spaetzle were not homemade, at least they didn't taste like they were fresh and homemade, but rather like they had been kept warm or warmed up. The sauce for the parmesan schnitzel tasted strangely Christmassy (made with gingerbread spice and/or cinnamon), which didn't fit at all. All in all, you can go to the beer hall, but it's not particularly great. Next time we would try something different, even though Schnitzel Friday is priced better.

Small restaurant, small menu and I love everything about it! Beautifully rustic, cozy and Swabian. You also like to sit at a table with someone you don't know - if it's okay with you. I like this very much. The service is mostly young, friendly and accommodating.

The food was very tasty... especially the homemade Maultaschen. The service was very friendly and the food came quickly. The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere. Of course, it can be the case that you sit at a table with several people because they are mainly long pub tables. Always happy to go there.

Quaint, small, centrally located inn with delicious Swabian food. For fans of meat enjoyment, the “Schubart’s onion roast”. Served hot to the point of medium rare, approx. 300g, with lots of melted and fried onions, with hot, delicious spaetzle, the icing on the cake are the melted breadcrumbs. Perfectly complemented with a large Maultaschen with roasted aromas. Simply recommended.

It's a very good restaurant. It has an incredible amount of charm and is reminiscent of historical and bygone times with its very “clocklike” interior and the age of the building. The quality and taste of the food were top notch. I had the Maultaschen with ricotta in it. The service is quick, uncomplicated, friendly and efficient. The price is high, too high for my taste. The Maultaschen cost €17. I wouldn't have eaten there if I hadn't been invited. The lack of space was often a nuisance. Both from table to table, person to person, and person to table 😁. As a 1.90 m tall person, my knees pressed into the table and therefore hurt, and there wasn't much foot space either. Nevertheless, it is highly recommended if you want to eat well.

Was staying in Aalen to watch a football match in Heidenheim. Popped into this restaurant for some lunch. It was busy with some locals eating there which was a good sign and it had a nice atmosphere. The interior had a huge amount of character. The food (2 had Schnitzel & I had the Raviolli) was tasty and so was the beer.

An absolute authority. It couldn't be more rustic. Small, authentically old guest room, rather simple in style - but cozy. Even if you are clearly from abroad, you feel welcome. My onion roast with spaetzle was great. And I would be very mistaken if the sauce wasn't homemade. Thumbs up! :)

Here you can find the best Maultaschen and the best roast beef ever! We always enjoy a cool Heubacher and homemade regional dishes in a cozy atmosphere. The service is always first class too! Definitely our favorite restaurant in Aalen.

Iconic pub with a good selection of beer and the menu has everything that is typical in Swabia. Service is nice. Sitting outside when the weather is good is also possible.

Dropped in to this quaint authentic German restaurant to learn we should have had a reservation. The accommodating staff made an adjustment to find us a spot. The ambiance was amazing, the food…. Incredible!!!! A few things to know of you decide to eat here. 1. Make a reservation. This small space is very busy! 2. If you don’t speak/read German study the menu on-line before you go as the menu is only in German. 3. Go hungry! Portions are huge and you will not want to waste a single bite! 4. If driving park in one of the parkades. Parking is limited here and the restaurant is located in a pedestrian only zone. It is close to the train station. 5. Enjoy the warmth of the German hospitality and the wonderful ambiance and food!!!! Cheers!

Good food. I had schnitzel. It was good. I do prefer veal because pig get a little dry. The sauce for the schnitzel was good. My husband had maultaschen. They were also good. The one with the cream sauce is the best.

The overpriced burger for €18 is difficult to eat. The portion was completely sufficient because it just tasted so bad. The meat had a strange aftertaste and the fries are also not recommended. Likewise, my companions' dishes didn't look appetizing. There are definitely better alternatives in this part of Aalen.

A loveless, tiny schnitzel with a mini portion of spaetzle for €18 is really aggressive. Afterwards we had a Greek meal. As a grown man, you don't get anywhere near full. It may have been an unusually small portion for us, but we won't be coming back anyway given this price-performance ratio.

This inn is so unique, you sit in the alley with a view of the church. The service is courteous and quick. The beer selection is special (Altes Sudhaus as a tip). The menu contains typical Swabian dishes and the Bierhallentöpfle and the handmade Maultaschen taste excellent (we still cook here). We will certainly not forget this visit, as it is a testament to Swabian hospitality.

Das Lokal im Zentrum von Aalen hat Tradition. Ich war 1976 mit den Kumpels häufig nach einer Moped Tour zu Gast. Auch heute esse ich gerne in der Bierhalle wenn wir in Aalen sind . Bedienung super nett und freundlich. Das Essen Bierhallentöpfle super gut und traditionell schwäbisch. Preise sind voll ok. Portionen genügend. Ja und das Innenleben immer noch Bierhalle👍

Table reserved for 2 people, arrived on time, we were seated at another family table, then left again! If I want to go out to eat with my children, I make reservations for more; if I go out to eat with my partner for an anniversary, I would happily sit alone. Service was tried, but unfortunately there was no other option. It's a shame I expected something different!

Quaint restaurant and the oldest in Aalen. Small but very cozy bar (be careful, it is very loud), you should definitely make a reservation. The walls are full of old metal signs from all sorts of breweries, everything very nostalgic but well-kept. There is only a small selection of dishes, but they are fresh and really good. The house lemonades are awesome. For example, thyme with homemade raspberry syrup. The service is very attentive and you don't have to wait long. A really great experience. In summer you can also sit outside.

The beer hall is rightly on the list of pubs worth seeing. It was always something special, but in my opinion it is currently one of the things that has become even better. Food very casual, service great. It's a really big compliment that the ambience/furnishings, including the porch, remained unchanged = tip top.

Great restaurant with good service and delicious food and drinks and a good price/performance ratio. We were there with three adults and two children. The reservation was made at short notice. The service was attentive from start to finish. The menu is not particularly extensive but offers something for every taste and all the dishes we had were freshly prepared and delicious.

Unfortunately, we were negatively surprised in several ways during our visit: a) the “beer hall” turned out to be a small beer hall. Maybe around 40 square meters. b) We had reserved a table, but were then seated at the table with other guests. If you look at other reviews, this method has a system. Sorry, that's not possible, you can save yourself a reservation. c) Prices are extremely expensive despite the simplest setup. For example, onion roast costs €34! Guests who dare to address the discrepancy are directed to the wooden spoon next door.
