I was really looking forward to my pizza, but it was extremely salty, way too salty. I won't be having it again, unfortunately!

Apparently the times given here are not correct and the shop is only open in the evenings, if at all. If you call the number provided (a cell phone number) to reserve a table, you will be answered by a nameless man who will first ask which restaurant you would like to make a reservation for. If you raise your concerns, he says: “Oh, hmm, they’re actually only open in the evenings.” He wants to “clarify” it and then call you back - which he will never do. Everything is very dubious.

"Kaufmanns" is a fantastic location for celebrations! We held both a milestone birthday and a wedding reception there, with completely satisfied guests! The hosts and the entire team have an excellent customer and service focus. Clear and reliable agreements are made, yet there's no lack of flexibility when needed. The rooms have charm and character! And the food and drinks selection is outstanding. What's particularly noteworthy is that you can sense the passion and commitment of the Kaufmanns to being good hosts for satisfied guests! We'll be happy to come back again and again!

We were a group of 17 people. We tried a variety of dishes (most chose the set menu), and everyone was very satisfied. The service was very friendly and prompt.

Update: after 10 months I returned with two of my dear friends, during the medieval festivals of Gelnhausen and this time it went better, in fact we ate very well. The Flammkuchen was really exquisite and the best I have eaten so far. The staff was very friendly and very professional, fast service, too bad they didn't have desert.🫣 We ate on the terrace, which has a wonderful view of the square, in the historic center of Gelnhausen.. Restaurant to visit absolutely. TIPS: Maybe the temperature of the water / the coffee preparation tool should be improved or over-extraction should be avoided, to avoid the burnt coffee flavor 👋See you next time👋 Review August 2024: Really rude staff. We asked for a table at 8pm and they told us it wasn't possible because they were waiting for two other reservations and that they were closing soon... But the closing, according to Google, is at 11pm. They had empty tables.. their way of dealing with customers was not kind. I wouldn't even think of eating in an environment like that...
