vom Essen waren wir sehr enttäuscht. Zu den vier Tipps wurde ein Weißbrot gereicht, das trocken und hart war. Und die Scheiben waren mindestens 4 cm dick, was bei so hartem Brot nicht geht. Die Dips waren auch nicht so toll.

It was the first time we'd ever eaten Tspas. (You can't get anything like that on the island where we live). What can I say... It was an incredibly delicious experience. Alles in allem ein tolles Restaurant mit sehr leckerem Essen! Allerdings hatte ich das Gefühl, es fehle mindestens noch eine Servicekraft. Die beiden Kellner haben ihre Sache super gemacht und waren auch sehr zuvorkommend. Aber mitunter dauerte es m. E. recht lange bis wieder jemand am Tisch war um weitere Wünsche (z. B. neue Getränke, Teller abräumen etc.) der Gäste zu erfüllen.

Stumbled upon the tapas bar by chance. What can I say, it was an excellent evening. We didn't have a reservation, but there were still seats available by the window, overlooking the outdoor area and Breite Weg. Conclusion: Great staff, great food, great view, great drinks. Kudos to the restaurant manager that evening. We'd gladly go back.

Lucky me...in the truest sense of the word. First, we flew in on time and snagged the last two available seats. And then we enjoyed light food from Iberico pork, prawns, and many other delicious things. Plus, a very friendly welcome and service. Simply exemplary. We'll definitely be back.

Super friendly service, courteous, and truly exclusive! You feel very comfortable, and the atmosphere is worth a visit. It's quite expensive, but you know what you're getting into with tapas. We spent the evening of our 5th wedding anniversary there. Delicious, lovingly prepared tapas and drinks. The service was excellent! Friendly, personable, and we immediately felt at home. It was the perfect restaurant for a special occasion!

Very expensive is not proportionate

Das Essen hat leider nachgelassen. Wir waren sonst immer sehr zufrieden mit dem Essen. Diesmal war der Menüteller von meinem Mann die Buletten innen sehr Kalt, die Sauce wässrig, das Roastbeef war richtig durchgebraten ( sehr trocken ) Der Service war wie immer sehr gut und freundlich. Ambiente war auch alles gut

Das Essen im Berner & Braun war wieder sehr lecker. Wir waren zu zweit da und hatten jeder 3 Tapas bestellt + 3 alkoholfreie Cocktails + ein dunkles Bier. Am besten waren das Hähnchen mit Honig, und der Mix aus drei verschiedenen fritierten Bällchen mit dem jeweiligen Dip. Das Brot ist zum Niederknien! Das Omelett war lecker, aber die Balsamico-Creme zu viel. Das hat das Ganze zu süß gemacht. Insgesamt aber alles hervorragend gewürzt. Mit der Platzierung waren wir nicht ganz glücklich. Wo wir uns zu einem Frühstück richtig ausbreiten konnten, weil wir die Einzigen im Lokal waren, waren wir diesmal irgendwie wie eingequetscht. Hinten in der Ecke direkt neben einem voll besetzten 7er-Tisch. Das Engegefühl wurde noch verstärkt durch die vielen Tapasteller. Hätten wir die empfohlenen 3-4 Tapas pro Person voll ausgereizt, hätten wir anbauen müssen, was wegen der Enge dort nicht möglich war. Die Servicekräfte waren sehr freundlich, aber teilweise etwas überfordert. Insgesamt waren wir zufrieden mit unserem Besuch, würden beim nächsten Mal an einem Samstag Abend allerdings einiges anders machen.

Good food, good service...we felt very comfortable...unfortunately, the prices on the menu are net...so you pay an additional 19% on the final bill without prior notice...not very customer-friendly...so this was our last visit...

A great tapas bar with a very large selection of dishes, whether meat, fish, vegetarian, or vegan, there's something for everyone. Reasonable portions served by very friendly and attentive staff. Tip: Make a reservation, as it's very busy (both inside and outside). Excellent wine list, and very fast service.

I've rarely been to such an excellent tapas bar. The food was delicious, the service impeccable, and the staff always had a friendly smile.

We love Spain and we like tapas, so we love going to tapas bars. We can wholeheartedly recommend this one because the staff there, both the service and the kitchen, do a fantastic job. The only downside: without a reservation, getting a table there is a complete fluke, even during the week. We'll definitely be back.

Great food and friendly staff. The food took 90 minutes to arrive on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was uncomfortable; the tables were too close together, with no flowers or anything else between them to ensure some peace and quiet. We'll try again in a few years.

In my decades in Magdeburg, I've never "managed" to go to Berner und Brown. Now, on a return visit to Magdeburg for a special occasion, my curiosity finally led me here on a mild summer evening. I would also like to immediately emphasize the excellent, extremely friendly, and courteous service! The requested table was quickly prepared, which was a testament to this obviously still very busy location, and we then enjoyed a tapas platter with a wonderful rose. Thank you very much for the lovely welcome to Magdeburg, fresh off the autobahn, and the beautiful end to the day with the perfect food and wine for this moment. The one star deduction for the ambiance has nothing to do with Berner und Brown per se, but is solely due to the location on Breiten Weg and the occasional motor enthusiasts driving by. This, and ONLY this, briefly diminished the enjoyment of the terrace. It's simply a city center location with all its advantages and disadvantages. Depending on your subjective assessment. Really great food and very friendly chef

Tapas bar isn't enough, because they also offer breakfast, among other things. 👌 "Berner u. Brown" isn't a franchisee, but a "Magdeburg unique." We didn't stay at the hotel (B&B), but rather had breakfast here. The offerings are varied, reasonably priced, and very tasty. My "Eggs Benedict" (€13.90) were creatively arranged; "you eat with your eyes." And my wife's "Fruit Yogurt" (€7.90) was generously prepared, loaded with plenty of seasonal fruits. But be careful with the "Café Crema"...it brings the dead back to life 😁. The service was very friendly and attentive. And we were able to sit outside in this "monster heat." Wonderful ‼️

It was very tasty. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio wasn't that good. Hence, one star deducted. €9 for a tapas is quite steep. They could charge a bit more for the food. The service was very friendly and attentive.

One of my favorite restaurants in Magdeburg is Berner&Brown. The tapas taste good, but they're not "light" dishes; they're a bit fatty, which you should understand. Despite the fact that they're tapas (i.e., small portions), you'll fill up quickly. The service is also good, and above all, the dishes are served very promptly after ordering. We found the ambiance very pleasant, sitting on the terrace; inside, we found it a bit too noisy to relax and have a normal conversation. Unfortunately, I didn't particularly like the taste of the cocktails, especially considering the price. It's also a shame that the prawns with dates have been removed from the menu; we miss that a lot. My current favorite - beef cheeks and bread with aioli dip♥️ Otherwise, a 4/5 👍

Prima Location , eigentlich hatten wir auf der Außenterasse einen Tisch bestellt , da das Wetter aber nicht so pralle war , hat uns der Chef kurzfristig im Restaurant einen Tisch bereit gestellt , nochmal Danke dafür .

Das Restaurant ist perfekt - einziges Manko, sollte man draussen sitzen, wäre ein Heizpilz oder andere Wärmequelle angenehm, sobald Wind aufzieht, wird es sehr schnell unangenehm - ansonsten definitiv zu empfehlen!!!!

We chose bread with four different dips to start. Then, between the two of us, we chose six different tapas, which were very well-balanced in terms of taste. We also really liked the presentation. The menu offers a great selection – including vegetarian and vegan options. An absolute recommendation. We recommend making a reservation in advance.

We went there based on a recommendation from my colleague. What can I say, it was worth it. Yes, you do have to pay a lot. But we're talking about tapas, and we're happy to dig deeper into our pockets for good food. The service is by far the best we've had in a restaurant. Everyone is very friendly, accommodating, and pulls together. If you don't like it too loud, you should eat there by 7 p.m. After that, it gets crowded and a bit louder, but that's just because the restaurant is small but nice. We'll definitely be back.

What can I say. If you wanna try something really Spanish, not a fancy invention whatsoever, this is your place. Food was on point, authentic and delicious. I even asked myself to the waiter if the owner/cooker was Spanish because the Ali oli felt like home. I can't wait to go back, staff 10/10 and food delicious and well presented. Must do if nearby!

Breakfast has also been available here since March 1, 2025. Simply delicious. Everything was freshly prepared (spinach-feta omelette, cheese-ham platter and mango jelly with raspberries and coriander.) There were two of us and we shared all 3 dishes so that everyone could enjoy all the delicacies. The sweetness of the fresh fruit was amazing. Everything was ripe and tasty, which is not a given at this time of year. We'd love to come back!!!

The food is good to very good, everyone will find something here. Service staff are very motivated and you almost don't even know them anymore. The atmosphere is modern but simple. You can't go wrong here.

Unfortunately a very loud place. There could also have been noisy guests, but the room did the rest. Also quite expensive. Tasty, but also expensive. This should definitely be clear before the visit. We found it difficult to have a conversation because of the volume and because it was too expensive for some people in our group, we probably won't go back.

Von der Reservierung bis zur Bezahlung lief alles reibungslos. Wir wurden von einem sehr netten, zuvorkommenden und überaus kompetenten Kellner bedient, der keine Wünsche offen ließ. Die Beratung und der Service waren ausgezeichnet. Die Tapas haben sehr gut geschmeckt, das Ambiente ist authentisch. Alles in allem war es ein gelungener Abend, der so sicherlich wiederholt wird.

Everything tasted very greasy. Of course, tapas are often fried and fried in olive oil, but unfortunately here the taste was completely lost. We were here as part of a visit to Magdeburg based on a recommendation from the book "Germany - 11 Underrated Cities" by Caro and Martin. A top address for tapas! Good portions, nicely presented and really tasty! Pleasant atmosphere, not too crowded with tables, and really excellent and friendly girls in service. Reserve a table and try it out!

A very friendly and attentive waitress, delicious food and drinks. Unfortunately, it gets quite loud in the restaurant when the room is full. But that can't be changed, everything else is fine.
