We went there for the first time and were very satisfied. We will eat there more often from now on. Very friendly staff. The food was delicious.

Stumbled upon the tapas bar by chance. What can I say, it was an excellent evening. We didn't have a reservation, but there were still seats available by the window, overlooking the outdoor area and Breite Weg. Conclusion: Great staff, great food, great view, great drinks. Kudos to the restaurant manager that evening. We'd gladly go back.

Lucky me...in the truest sense of the word. First, we flew in on time and snagged the last two available seats. And then we enjoyed light food from Iberico pork, prawns, and many other delicious things. Plus, a very friendly welcome and service. Simply exemplary. We'll definitely be back.

Super friendly service, courteous, and truly exclusive! You feel very comfortable, and the atmosphere is worth a visit. It's quite expensive, but you know what you're getting into with tapas. We spent the evening of our 5th wedding anniversary there. Delicious, lovingly prepared tapas and drinks. The service was excellent! Friendly, personable, and we immediately felt at home. It was the perfect restaurant for a special occasion!

Good food, good service...we felt very comfortable...unfortunately, the prices on the menu are net...so you pay an additional 19% on the final bill without prior notice...not very customer-friendly...so this was our last visit...

A great tapas bar with a very large selection of dishes, whether meat, fish, vegetarian, or vegan, there's something for everyone. Reasonable portions served by very friendly and attentive staff. Tip: Make a reservation, as it's very busy (both inside and outside). Excellent wine list, and very fast service.

Great food and friendly staff. The food took 90 minutes to arrive on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was uncomfortable; the tables were too close together, with no flowers or anything else between them to ensure some peace and quiet. We'll try again in a few years.

We love Spain and we like tapas, so we love going to tapas bars. We can wholeheartedly recommend this one because the staff there, both the service and the kitchen, do a fantastic job. The only downside: without a reservation, getting a table there is a complete fluke, even during the week. We'll definitely be back.

In my decades in Magdeburg, I've never "managed" to go to Berner und Brown. Now, on a return visit to Magdeburg for a special occasion, my curiosity finally led me here on a mild summer evening. I would also like to immediately emphasize the excellent, extremely friendly, and courteous service! The requested table was quickly prepared, which was a testament to this obviously still very busy location, and we then enjoyed a tapas platter with a wonderful rose. Thank you very much for the lovely welcome to Magdeburg, fresh off the autobahn, and the beautiful end to the day with the perfect food and wine for this moment. The one star deduction for the ambiance has nothing to do with Berner und Brown per se, but is solely due to the location on Breiten Weg and the occasional motor enthusiasts driving by. This, and ONLY this, briefly diminished the enjoyment of the terrace. It's simply a city center location with all its advantages and disadvantages. Depending on your subjective assessment. Really great food and very friendly chef

Tapas bar isn't enough, because they also offer breakfast, among other things. 👌 "Berner u. Brown" isn't a franchisee, but a "Magdeburg unique." We didn't stay at the hotel (B&B), but rather had breakfast here. The offerings are varied, reasonably priced, and very tasty. My "Eggs Benedict" (€13.90) were creatively arranged; "you eat with your eyes." And my wife's "Fruit Yogurt" (€7.90) was generously prepared, loaded with plenty of seasonal fruits. But be careful with the "Café Crema"...it brings the dead back to life 😁. The service was very friendly and attentive. And we were able to sit outside in this "monster heat." Wonderful ‼️

It was very tasty. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio wasn't that good. Hence, one star deducted. €9 for a tapas is quite steep. They could charge a bit more for the food. The service was very friendly and attentive.

One of my favorite restaurants in Magdeburg is Berner&Brown. The tapas taste good, but they're not "light" dishes; they're a bit fatty, which you should understand. Despite the fact that they're tapas (i.e., small portions), you'll fill up quickly. The service is also good, and above all, the dishes are served very promptly after ordering. We found the ambiance very pleasant, sitting on the terrace; inside, we found it a bit too noisy to relax and have a normal conversation. Unfortunately, I didn't particularly like the taste of the cocktails, especially considering the price. It's also a shame that the prawns with dates have been removed from the menu; we miss that a lot. My current favorite - beef cheeks and bread with aioli dip♥️ Otherwise, a 4/5 👍

A great restaurant. The tapas are fantastic, and the staff is very friendly. We were there for breakfast today. The breakfast is also delicious, and there are some exciting creations. Information for parents with babies/toddlers: Unfortunately, there is no changing table.

We had a wonderful time at the tapas bar. Attentive and friendly service. A big thank you again – you feel completely at home. The interior is modern and lovingly designed. We chose bread with four different dips to start. Then, between the two of us, we chose six different tapas, which were very well-balanced in terms of taste. We also really liked the presentation. The menu offers a great selection – including vegetarian and vegan options. An absolute recommendation. We recommend making a reservation in advance.

We went there based on a recommendation from my colleague. What can I say, it was worth it. Yes, you do have to pay a lot. But we're talking about tapas, and we're happy to dig deeper into our pockets for good food. The service is by far the best we've had in a restaurant. Everyone is very friendly, accommodating, and pulls together. If you don't like it too loud, you should eat there by 7 p.m. After that, it gets crowded and a bit louder, but that's just because the restaurant is small but nice. We'll definitely be back.

What can I say. If you wanna try something really Spanish, not a fancy invention whatsoever, this is your place. Food was on point, authentic and delicious. I even asked myself to the waiter if the owner/cooker was Spanish because the Ali oli felt like home. I can't wait to go back, staff 10/10 and food delicious and well presented. Must do if nearby!

Breakfast has also been available here since March 1, 2025. Simply delicious. Everything was freshly prepared (spinach-feta omelette, cheese-ham platter and mango jelly with raspberries and coriander.) There were two of us and we shared all 3 dishes so that everyone could enjoy all the delicacies. The sweetness of the fresh fruit was amazing. Everything was ripe and tasty, which is not a given at this time of year. We'd love to come back!!!

Unfortunately a very loud place. There could also have been noisy guests, but the room did the rest. Also quite expensive. Tasty, but also expensive. This should definitely be clear before the visit. We found it difficult to have a conversation because of the volume and because it was too expensive for some people in our group, we probably won't go back.

I was at this restaurant recently and I have to say I absolutely loved it! The food was absolutely delicious - every dish was freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned and lovingly presented. The service was also outstanding. The staff were super friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome from the start. The staff's recommendations were also a hit. The atmosphere was cozy but still stylish – perfect for a relaxed evening. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't there for me. We used two different mixing plates, but were a little disappointed by the quality of the ingredients and the preparation. Everything tasted very greasy. Of course, tapas are often fried and fried in olive oil, but unfortunately here the taste was completely lost. The alioli was also poured with French fries seasoning, which then destroyed any taste. To the service. Unfortunately our starter was forgotten. The rest was packed for us with a fee of €1.50. Unfortunately only half. Too bad. An indication of the costs would have been nice.

We were here as part of a visit to Magdeburg based on a recommendation from the book "Germany - 11 Underrated Cities" by Caro and Martin. A top address for tapas! Good portions, nicely presented and really tasty! Pleasant atmosphere, not too crowded with tables, and really excellent and friendly girls in service. Reserve a table and try it out!

We went to Berner & Brown for lunch. Absolutely no problem without a reservation during the week. The waitress was super nice and warm-hearted, you immediately felt very welcome. The food was amazing! The two of us were more than full from 8 tapas, 6-7 tapas would have been enough. Vegans also get their money's worth, as many different and, above all, special vegan dishes are offered. We were completely satisfied 😊

Von vorne bis hinten einfach ein Traum. Wenn ich wirklich ganz ganz ganz lange darüber nachdenke und was „negatives“ finden müsste, wäre es der Lärmpegel, allerdings nicht extrem störend und kein Grund bei den anderen positiven Dingen, hier auch nur einen halben Stern abzuziehen! Hammer!!!

Hervorragendes Essen, sehr nettes Personal und schönes Lokal. Wir haben selten eine so gute Alioli gegessen. Alle anderen Tapas waren auch top!

Wir waren schon ein paar mal hier. Anfangs war ich wirklich 100 Prozent zufrieden, dieses Mal nicht so ganz. Zuerst einmal, der Service ist wirklich wundervoll, wirklich hervorragend, immer on point, nie gekünstelt, hier gibt es nix zu meckern. Weiter so. 👍🌟 Das Essen ist auch sehr gut, wobei die Preise schon ganz schön hoch angesetzt sind. Aber das möchte ich nicht negativ bewerten. Ein klitzekleiner Kritikpunkt, wir hatten 4 dips zur Vorspeise, der Nachbartisch auch, nur das deren Schälchen randvoll gefüllt waren und unsere nur gut zur Hälfte, da sollte man schon drauf achten. Die Cocktails waren lecker, auch im Preis sehr gut, aber leider zuviel Eis. Was ich gar nicht gut finde, sind die Pappstrohhalme, die so schnell aufweichen, da müsste es in dieser Preiskategorie etwas anderes geben. Durch die Menge an Eiswürfeln konnte man auch gar nicht den kompletten Cocktail genießen, weil der Strohhalm schon komplett zerstört war und man gar nicht richtig umrühren konnte. Hier wäre es wirklich schön, eine Alternative zu finden. Der Tisch ist für 2,5 Stunden gebucht, das ist völlig in Ordnung, trotzdem kam es zum Schluss zu einer kleinen Hektik. Es musste plötzlich alles ganz schnell gehen, obwohl noch kein Nachfolger für unseren Tisch in Sicht war. Das hat dem ganzen Abend einen kleinen Dämpfer gegeben. Alles in allem, ein schöner Abend. Top Service, gutes Essen, minimale Kritikpunkte, man kann es empfehlen

The food was generally tasty, but the price-performance ratio still leaves room for improvement. What didn't work at all: Even though we had ordered two glasses of wine and two desserts shortly beforehand, we were "complimented out" of the restaurant shortly before 11 p.m. because they wanted to close (it says on the internet that it's open until midnight)! We didn't even finish eating or drinking because we felt under pressure and no longer welcome. Too bad...

Completely overpriced, around €6 for a 0.4l cola... that can't be justified in any way. The food was so-so but if you want to be full you will be poor. I don't have to have it again. And the stupid answers from the owner under the 1 star reviews say a lot... Update: And there it is, the stupid comment under my review. Pride comes before a fall I'm just saying... the main thing is to offend... shows maturity👌.
