The family-run Berghotel Birkenhof is a wonderful place to truly relax, both passively and actively. It offers a wide range of activities, including hiking, horseback riding, cycling, and much more. The rooms are very clean and well-maintained, the staff is very friendly, and the food at the inn is truly excellent. The outdoor pool is also very well-maintained, with a perfect view amidst stunning nature, overlooking Kössen and the Wilder Kaiser mountains.

A wonderfully beautiful family hotel with a pony farm, its own delicious cuisine, a pool, sauna, and whirlpool, and modern, brand-new rooms. Super friendly service, fast and competent. Very good food, great ambiance (we sat outside on the terrace), but the interior is rustic, high-quality, and comfortably furnished.

Every year, we spend a week with our grandchildren in a beautiful holiday apartment at the Birkenhof. It's very cozy, and we all feel "at home." The children are especially happy at the pony farm with Lilly and her always uncomplicated, friendly team. A wonderful surprise was a wonderful pool in front of our apartment. Very close to nature and tasteful, just like the entire Birkenhof. A highlight is the hut evening with a really good atmosphere and very good food. Of course, breakfast is also very lovingly prepared, and on the menu we always find something from knuckle of pork to tempting desserts. We thank the Abholzer family and their daughter Lilly at the Ponyhof and the entire team for the wonderful time, and we would love to come back. All the best! Your Kupka family

This new hotel and restaurant is just inside Germany, within sight of the Reit im Winkl golf course. The dishes are typical, often featuring a fine piece of game. The service is friendly and attentive. It's nice to be able to enjoy a glass of wine, well wrapped up, on the wonderful wooden terrace with a view of the mountains, even in winter. There are plenty of parking spaces, but walking from Reit im Winkl is also recommended.

The new outdoor pool is simply gorgeous – with stunning mountain views and perfect for relaxing after a hike. The sauna is also modern, clean, and very comfortable. The rooms are lovingly furnished, very clean, and exude a pleasant, homey atmosphere. You immediately feel at home. The well-maintained hotel as a whole is also particularly noteworthy – attention is paid to every detail here. The hotel's own restaurant offers excellent cuisine in a cozy atmosphere – regional, fresh, and prepared with love. A place to relax and unwind – we will definitely be back!

It's located a bit off the beaten track above Reit im Winkel, offering fantastic views of the Zahmer Kaiser mountains. Don't be put off by the ambiance on the way there. The prices are reasonable, and the outdoor area is a dream in summer. A must-visit!

We celebrated my birthday at the Birkenhof last Sunday. I had made a reservation for 10 people just a few days before. The table was beautifully and lovingly decorated, the food was exceptionally good (feedback from all 10 people), and the food was also very exquisitely presented. The service was excellent; I felt completely at home. The team at the Birkenhof contributed to my wonderful birthday. The magnificent view and the perfect weather were the icing on the cake...We would gladly return to the Birkenhof if we are ever in Reit again. I can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant.

Locals aren't treated particularly kindly here: When making a table reservation by phone, you had to endure some rather strange comments, because a reservation for 4 people + possibly 2 additional guests would be a "charade" that the restaurant couldn't handle. They'd have to add two chairs in an emergency—oh my goodness, the way we're allowed to act! Since the waitress (?) didn't hang up the phone immediately or properly after the conversation, we now know what they think of us paying guests...

It would be nice if they adhered to the opening hours and communicated any changes. Today's day off isn't noted anywhere, and the day trip destination is now being rescheduled—and this during peak season.

I have never experienced such a hotel with such a loving hostel. Regardless of whether the owners, kitchen or employees have an open heart for body and soul. The guests are clearly in the foreground and their well-being and health are well looked after. A visit to the hotel and town is worth it, no matter where you are traveling from.

We booked the hotel for a short break and didn't know it before. Very nice location, above the town. The Berghotel Birkenhof is furnished with great attention to detail, we immediately felt at home. The rooms are very clean, large and cozy, with a sun terrace, nothing is missing. In the morning, a rich breakfast buffet gets the day off to a good start. There is something on the menu for every taste, very tasty. The Birkenhof team is always friendly and helpful, the Abholzer family runs their hotel with a lot of passion. We'd love to come back.

We had the great pleasure of being able to spend a few days as a tour group at the Gasthaus Birkenhof in Reit im Winkl, and it was an unforgettable experience! This inn is truly a pearl that we can only warmly recommend. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by our hosts with a warmth that was second to none. You can immediately feel that hospitality is very important here and that the well-being of the guests comes first. Our entire group felt welcome and in good hands from the first moment. The rooms were great - large and spacious, with a wonderfully cozy feel. Particularly noteworthy was the bed: it was really comfortable and big, just right after a long day of skiing! Another highlight was the breakfast. It really left nothing to be desired! From freshly baked bread and rolls to a wide selection of cold cuts, cheese, jams and egg dishes, to fresh fruit and delicious coffee - everything was of the best quality and prepared with a lot of love. Dinner was also a pleasure! Every single course was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. We would particularly like to emphasize the coziness and warm atmosphere of the restaurant. The Birkenhof manages to offer a combination of first-class cuisine and a family atmosphere that is simply incomparable. A big compliment goes to the entire service team, who always met us with a smile and responded to all of our requests. Above all, we would like to highlight waitress Jasmin, who impressed us with her warm and courteous manner during our stay. Your attention and kindness really enriched our stay and made for unforgettable evenings. In conclusion, we can only say: The Gasthof Birkenhof is a place to which we will definitely return. The combination of warm hosts, great food, great rooms and an indescribably cozy atmosphere makes it one of the best addresses in town! In this hotel you simply feel comfortable and can forget the stress of everyday life. You are in nature and still central. You can go to the sauna at any time and it's really nice, to cool down in the snow... I enjoyed this heavenly peace so much. Few cars, no houses blocking the view... We ate in the restaurant, I had a salad with cheese strips for €16.80 and the price-performance ratio was definitely not there, there were a few huge lettuce leaves and tomato quarters, a few cucumber slices and you actually had to look for the cheese strips, too There was hardly any salad dressing, it was basically goat food. My husband had a fish fillet with potatoes and salad and wasn't impressed with the taste either. There was onion in the remoluade sauce, which is more than unusual in my opinion. My husband hates onions. So unfortunately we can't give a better rating a, it's a shame, we were so happy because the Birkenhof is extremely cozy.

We spent Christmas Eve in this wonderful restaurant. The very friendly innkeepers, the extraordinarily loving decoration, the great food and the program (Christmas story, singing songs) touched me very much. We would like to thank the Abholzer family for a perfect Christmas evening.

Staff impressively friendly. Surprisingly flexible, which in principle was not to be expected as there were a large number of reservations. Nevertheless, it was taken for two people and the food was cooked and served excellently. So overall: great service, high quality and nothing to complain about. Recommended.

Very nice restaurant with a great, cozy atmosphere, just right for the mountains. The service in the restaurant is very good and attentive, yet reserved but Bavarian-style cozy. The review refers only to the restaurant. We visited the restaurant on May 24 and spent lovely hours here. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is new but traditionally furnished. Suitable for people with walking difficulties. The food tastes excellent and is not overpriced. Dogs are also welcome. We felt comfortable.

This hotel was recommended to us for a short break (Friday to Monday) and we can only report positively. Very nice corner room with balcony and view of the mountains, delicious breakfast, beautiful sun terrace with homemade cakes and a menu that every guest will find what they are looking for. All of this is of very good quality. Super friendly staff and the owners “live” their hotel every day with a lot of passion. In short, an all-round nice “package” that we can only recommend! We'll definitely be back!

Although we stayed in different accommodation during our vacation, we came across the Birkenhof homepage while looking for a place for dinner. We particularly liked the selection of food and the ambience was actually convincing. Very comfortably furnished. The service was super friendly and the food came quickly and was delicious. Despite the large dining room, it wasn't uncomfortable or loud. Unfortunately the following day was a rest day and so we weren't able to stop by a second time before the end of our vacation. Maybe next time!

It was our first time in Reit im Winkl and also our first time in Birkenhof and we can only confirm the very good reviews here. Toni and Verena and the entire team are very warm people who leave no wish unfulfilled. We were there with our almost 4-year-old son and were treated very family-friendly. Very child friendly with a playground at the restaurant, pony farm and children's meals that came before our meal! At the end there was even honey as a farewell gift! We'll definitely come back.

We stayed at the Birkenhof for 12 days. Ideal conditions for mountain hiking and relaxing. Every morning breakfast was a treat, no wishes were left unattended. Excursion tips came directly from the hotel manager with the coffee. The manager of the house came to the table every day and asked how everyone was feeling. Exceptionally family friendly. The rooms are very spacious. The adventure shower has something of a wellness feeling about it. The catering and its staff is an attentive and culinary experience. We enjoyed the menu over the days. Top location, nice terrace, very good service

Good, but we expected better ;) The food was good, but nothing special, felt convenience... My meal was served porcini mushrooms instead of chanterelles. When I asked, I got chanterelles without any problem. All in all, the service was really good and friendly. There is a play tower with a slide and swing for children. The view is great :)

We spent a wonderful holiday here. The gallery room was just gorgeous. From the furnishings, the cleanliness to the view from the balcony, everything was really perfect. Hospitality could have been invented here. The staff was super nice and accommodating. I would like to highlight the boss again, who really spread a good mood from morning to evening. Every wish, especially at breakfast, was fulfilled immediately. I'm pretty sure this wasn't the last time we were guests of the Abholzer family. Our recommendation rate is 100%. (There was no commission for this review... 🤣), it's an honest... PS: This summer we also spent 5 nights at the Berghotel Birkenhof. Again 5 out of 5 stars. The Berghotel Birkenhof, we already knew the rustic, cozy restaurant. The hotel impresses with its very spacious rooms. Bathroom, separate toilet. A spacious balcony with a view of the Unterberg and the Kaisergebirge, a dream. The room was cleaned and mopped daily. We found it particularly pleasant that the cleaning took place during our breakfast. The staff and the Abholzer family complement each other excellently. The service staff impresses with their charm, good humor and competence. Arrive and feel good, that's what happened to us on our vacation. When we arrived the room was ready for occupancy. We liked it so much that we extended it one night.

It was once again a perfect vacation for us. Really great and helpful family, super nice staff, from the maid to the service as well as in the kitchen, only praise from us. Well-equipped hotel, very clean and well-maintained, we enjoyed the food in the house very much. To put it bluntly, it was perfect accommodation for our needs as we traveled by car and had a motorbike and e-bikes with us . The hotel is in a very quiet location just above Reit im Winkl, adjacent to a golf course. Great starting point for hikes, cyclists or motorcycle tours. We'd love to come back!

Not as beautiful as the old glapfhof, but it is closed, the son built the new Birkenhof, about 500 meters further back like the glapfhof, just a huge hotel, Bettenburg, no view of Reit im Winkl like the beautiful glapfhof, a shame

Food was super tasty. Special requests were addressed without much discussion. The best part... dogs are welcome here. We recommend. The view alone is worth going to the beautiful restaurant.

This hotel is something really special. The owners radiate everything you could wish for, the aura of this hotel is incredibly pleasant, we stayed in the Franzl holiday apartment, which radiates a particularly positive karma. You feel like you're coming home. The entire apartment, the entire grounds and the hotel are exceptionally clean. The entire staff was very warm, open and friendly. The breakfast offers a great selection of regional delicacies and is really delicious. The sauna area is completely sufficient and also very clean and decorated with love. Overall, the hotel is really exceptionally lovingly and stylishly designed and we have rarely felt so at home and comfortable right from the start.
