Incredibly good burgers and tapas, in all variations and also vegetarian – there's something for everyone here. Superb sweet potato fries. Open even in winter when many other places are closed. If we come back to Poel, we'll definitely eat here again!

This was my second visit with my family after two years. The food is very, very good and fresh. The service is super friendly. The atmosphere is top-notch! I'll definitely be back!

Service is getting worse and worse; waiting times of at least an hour are now the norm. While this is understandable when it's busy, it's unacceptable that another order is prioritized, especially when it's freezing cold in winter. The atmosphere remains incredibly cheap – the place is practically empty. I can no longer recommend it.

Unfortunately, we were turned away, which wouldn't have been a problem since they were having some kind of themed evening. What we found really disappointing was that we couldn't even get some burgers to go...very inflexible...what a shame...we only go to Poel once a year and were really looking forward to it...oh well, bad luck, never again.

From the outside, it's rather unassuming, but the interior has a unique and cool diner-style atmosphere. The burgers are amazing – all freshly prepared and incredibly delicious. The other dishes are also highly recommended… varied, but not overwhelming. A real treat for the island of Poel. Since we live on Poel, we love to delight our guests with Bensons.

Hello, This was my second time eating there, and both visits were very satisfying. The bread with dip alone was worth the trip. The burgers were a 10/10. Kudos to the chef! The cocktails were delicious. The restrooms were clean and in good condition. The service was excellent, and even though the bar was busy, I wasn't waited long to be served. The service was very pleasant and friendly; a smile and a few jokes made it a lovely visit. Thank you! There are a few parking spaces in front of the bar. If they're full, you can easily use the larger, free parking lot about 150 meters away. A big thank you to the team at Bensons Grill & Bar! 💪

Phenomenal burger creations. We visited here twice during our vacation on Poel and were not disappointed either time. Great and very friendly, attentive service and delicious food. Reservations are recommended. The hosts didn't give the impression that they didn't like children—quite the opposite. However, they handle reservations with great sensitivity and expertise. Apparently, they've gained considerable experience in the past with guests from various institutions when it comes to behavior and upbringing. I also couldn't identify any visiting groups of any political persuasion. They were simply guests who appreciate good food and friendly service. Even if the island of Poel doesn't have much to offer other than peace and nature, it at least has damn good burgers!

We've been there twice with our dog. I've never experienced a restaurant that treats canine guests so carefully! All the canine guests were separated into different "corners" so there was no stress. Many burgers are available, including super-tasty vegetarian patties. Everything was absolutely delicious! The service was very friendly, but not intrusive. If we go on holiday here again, we'll be happy to come back 😋

I highly recommend BENSONS. When everything else on the island closes at 8 p.m., you can still enjoy a leisurely meal here. The service is very commendably friendly and attentive. The burgers, just like their namesake, are expertly prepared and truly delicious. The salads are also delicious. Simply fantastic! We'll be back.

Super delicious burger. One of the best I've ever eaten! The meat and ingredients were practically an explosion of flavor. And the onion rings were just as good! Delicious cocktails and super friendly service; you didn't have to wait long and were constantly asked if everything was okay and if you wanted to order anything else. I'd be happy to go back.

The food is excellent! The ambiance isn't so great, with the unwanted mosquitoes, and the fact that nothing is being done about them! Even the staff has been bitten! It's always best to make a reservation, and no, you can't expect any kind of accommodating service here, although it's possible! Oh, and there's no thank you for the tip either! It's better to keep your expectations of the staff as low as possible! If it weren't for the many drawbacks, the review would have been better!

Delicious burgers. Attentive service. For families: There's a play area with a drawing table. The women's restroom has a sturdy changing table, and there are plenty of highchairs available. Points deducted for the area in front of the restrooms. It's messy and looks a bit dirty. The highchairs would also appreciate a damp cloth.

The burgers were very good, but unfortunately, the wait was quite long. No food without a reservation. I imagine a cozy dinner to be a little different. It is and will always be a sports ground pub.

Very good burgers, and the appetizers are also incredibly delicious. The atmosphere is cool. The staff is super friendly. Unfortunately, we were overcharged for two large Alsters (€11.00), because we only noticed it late in the evening (we took the bill with us and didn't look at it until much later). We're heading home this morning; otherwise, we would have complained; it certainly wasn't intentional... We consider it a very generous tip. Still, highly recommended, just maybe check the bill first 😉

We just ate at Bensons (not for the first time) and "actually" had a great and fun time! The service, provided by a very charming and attentive waitress, along with the manager, was sensational – the food is even served on preheated dishes, something you rarely see these days – fantastic! We sat next to the play area, where children play and are a bit louder (we even had a child with us who was very happy about this opportunity). However, the general acoustics are and were difficult to bear, because the dining room is still lacking sound-absorbing elements! Nevertheless, we would gladly come back and hope for a somewhat quieter "conversational atmosphere" in the future.

As already mentioned, the food and service were really excellent. But we were shocked when we wanted to pay by card and were able to. The card reader had a box saying: tip 10%, 20%, or 30% of the total, or refuse. Since we had the tip ready, we pressed "refuse." That gave me a strange feeling. I hadn't realized such a thing existed until then—that you could deduct tips directly from your card. The way it was before was better; otherwise, you feel pressured. Tipping is important, but it has to be voluntary.

We ate burgers at Bensons Grill & Bar during our vacation. Delicious and highly recommended if you're on the island of Poel. We were particularly pleased with the gluten-free version, which should definitely be mentioned on the website, as we searched for gluten-free restaurants online and Bensons wasn't mentioned.

Friendly staff, quaint interior, children are welcome, food is great, would definitely go back

We had a lovely evening at Bensons. The restaurant has the charm of an old clubhouse, which it can't shake despite (or because of) the numerous decorations. You have to like it, but it gives a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. The service was also very friendly and there was a good beer selection. The burger patty was a bit tough, but otherwise the burger was well composed.

You can really enjoy a really good burger plus extras here. You just want to go back and bite someone else next time. Rolls made by hand and with our own recipe, great combinations and, honestly, prices that match the dish. I can't specialize in one recommendation because there's something about everything there. I just liked the sheep's cheese dip for the fries, for example. The bar really has a tip too 😏 The menus are always being developed a little further and changed or rather expanded, there is no standstill there. So if you're on the island of Poel it's definitely worth a look and lunch or dinner. If it stays with just one ^^ I can please imagine 😂

The burgers 🍔 are soooo delicious. The long wait in summer is worth it. It's best to reserve in advance and, if it's convenient, go in the early afternoon straight after it opens.

Were there with the family, there is a play area for children. Food is for connoisseurs! Service is really great with the service cube, press then the service comes and you can pay or order. Were there on two consecutive days, really great. Unfortunately it was unknown before. See you! 😃

The food is really great, no question about it. But the service staff makes you feel when you're not wanted or when you don't feel like working. I'm very disappointed with the service in terms of technology, it's a shame that they differentiate so much between the guests Not that you have to be treated as a second class citizen. In the end, we are happy that the bill was really forced on us. There's nothing to change about the food, but the service certainly is.

Very nice burger restaurant. Cozy, interesting facility. We were there before New Year's Eve and loved it so much that we ate there again on New Year's Day. A highlight of the island!

Today we spontaneously ate here on a recommendation and got the last table. The first impression of the atmosphere was that there is room for improvement here. Service was absolutely friendly and the food was absolutely delicious, very fresh. We had different tapas and different burgers and dessert. Prices moderate. Children and parents happy. We'll be back. 😊

The food was very tasty. There is a vintage bus in the restaurant that serves as a play area for children. Unfortunately, this is not really what the operator wants, as several children playing can get a little louder. The children are also interrupted while playing and asked to clean up. Guests from the mother-child clinic are turned away by telephone. Since we reserved our table online in advance, they couldn't refuse us. We were forced to be served. After the meal, it was made clear to us that we were not wanted and that the waitress would like to call it a day.

When we asked for a table reservation, the unfriendly information was given that nothing was offered for the people from the Ostseeklinik. I find it very rude and disrespectful.

We were completely satisfied with the food. It's just that you felt very unwelcome. The staff made it clear to us that they didn't want us there. Since we are guests from a health clinic and would like to try something nearby, it's a shame.

I called today on the recommendation of an island resident and wanted to reserve a table for 10 people. We would have been two families. I was first asked what the reason for the reservation was, then I explained that it was supposed to be a family reunion. I was then asked whether I was in the neighboring town for a mother-child treatment, which I honestly (stupidly) answered in the affirmative. I was then immediately told that they would not accept spa guests with children. Which I actually find very sad and shameful. There are only two of me there with my daughter, but the fact that we are two families with five children is not allowed there. Unfortunately I have to give this one star because I couldn't describe my impressions otherwise. But unfortunately that's not hospitable in my opinion. It's a shame, we would have liked to try it

We spontaneously came here for dinner today and were lucky to get a table! Reservations in advance are highly recommended! We were here with our 4-year-old daughter and the service was very friendly! Very child-friendly staff, very tasty food, nice atmosphere and an absolute recommendation from us!! An eye-catcher is the old GDR police car that has been converted into a children's playground. Delicious food, friendly, pretty waitresses who quickly brought what you wanted, all at reasonable prices. Gladly again!

We went there for dinner today with our son and our dog. We both had the chicken god once with fries and once with sweet potato fries. The junior rice pudding with cinnamon and sugar. The burger was a dream 😍the sweet potato fries were really good and the rice pudding was really great. The service is super friendly, the atmosphere is really great. The children have a large play area and the dog was allowed to come into the restaurant and lie at the table. (even got a bowl of water). We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back on our next vacation. 😉
