Benjamins American Diner in Mannheim

I ate there last week. I was surprised by how quickly the food was prepared. It was delicious and filling. I just had a bit of trouble finding a parking space. I can easily recommend it.

Today it was pure disgrace! The burgers tasted like old burnt fat. Really disgusting taste! Nobody was able to eat even half a burger. When I'm standing at the grill I notice when my meat is burning! That's not possible! And then you pay €4.80 for a child's hand full of fries. Unfortunately, you have ruined your name through your own fault. It's absolutely terrible today. €48 for such a cheek you can't imagine! Go eat burgers somewhere else or make them yourself at home.

The food, service and atmosphere were great. Service was a little slow, and the meals were not large, but the quality of the food was great and the staff very friendly.

The food was super tasty and definitely large enough portions. My highlight at the end was the milkshake. The conditions are very friendly and you always come back and ask if you would like to order something else. I thought it was great that painting supplies were provided for the kids so our little one was kept busy. The only small drawback is that the price is quite high but it was worth it

We were here with a larger group. The staff was nice but the chicken burger was cold and one of the worst I've ever eaten. I wouldn't eat here again.

Very nice service and an atmosphere where the American flair wafts around the burgers. Special requests were addressed individually and served as ordered. The burgers were tasty. The fries weren't overwhelming, but quite edible and not too greasy. Four well-deserved “Kleist dines” stars!

Miles from a good American diner. We became aware of this diner through the positive reviews and since we were passing through anyway, we gave it a try. The quality of the food at these prices is an absolute no-go in my opinion. Ordered 2 burgers with hot wings, chips and milkshakes and none of the dishes were convincing. The cheeseburger was just a normal, clumsy homemade burger that every snack bar has 30 different dishes on the menu from schnitzel to tacos, it could have been done better (we all know such places). The 5 puny hotwings from malnourished chickens, which are advertised with a hot and spicy sauce, are just plain old Tabasco. The chips on the sides are cheap Aldi chips. Since the Rappel store was full, we waited about 30 minutes for the food, but unfortunately that's how it was. The stars are only because of the service.

Very tasty food, the service was quick and extremely friendly. The price was cheaper for three people compared to other restaurants.

Italy burger (€12.90) with sweet potato fries (€5.80) from Benjamins American Diner in Mannheim. Atmospheric restaurant, nice and fast service. The food tasted delicious, the dessert (Devils Food Cake, €5.60) was huge. Recommended location 🙂👍

Delicious food, great atmosphere, nice waitresses - unfortunately you get the feeling that there is a bit of bad air between the waitresses, which is passed on to the guests. The price-performance ratio is not good, prices are sometimes too high. The toilets are bad. We were there twice and each time the women's toilet stank and wasn't clean, despite a signed cleaning plan 😏

The two of us came by spontaneously and didn't have a reservation. It was full (except for two empty seats) and even though we offered to wait, we were turned away. We then ordered food to go and waited outside the door for it. When we picked up the order, 4 people came, none of whom had made a reservation, who, like us, asked if they could sit at the bar, which didn't seem to be a problem at all. Since the conversation was taking place right next to us, we asked the slightly older blonde employee about it and she responded with no understanding at all and shook her head. We understand that a Saturday night can be stressful and we would have been willing to wait longer for a seat, but the response from the staff was inappropriate.

It's just great there, you can eat and drink in no time, it tastes very good and the service is great too!!!

Highly recommended. Super delicious food, great service team, large selection, nicely presented, not overpriced....as a birthday surprise, the table was sweetly decorated and the highlight was a dessert on the house with a sparkler and birthday song....great!!!!!

Sensational. Mega friendly service and then the surprise....birthday song and the whole restaurant applauds....so brilliant...you're king and feel valued. We'd love to come back.

Irgendwer hatte gelesen, dass Benjamin´s Diner unbedingt besuchen sollte. Daher haben wir uns hier getroffen. Ansonsten wäre ich niemals hier reingegangen. Der Laden sieht schon von weitem richtig schäbig aus. Auch innen ist es nicht besonders einladend. Man hat quasi einen Diner nachgebaut und viele typische Schilder aufgehängt. Man sitzt auf roten Kunstleder bezogenen Bänken/Stühlen. Sonntags ist es recht gut besucht. Bis 14:00 Uhr gibt es amerikanisches Frühstück. So haben wir die Auswahl zwischen Burger und Pancakes... Es gibt auch 2 vegetarische Burgerversionen, aber auf diese gewürzten Klopse habe ich echt keine Lust. So wähle ich ein paar Kleinigkeiten vom Breakfast Menu. Maisbrot ist süß, schmeckt nach Biscuitkuchen. Grausam. Die Bratkartoffeln sind sehr dunkel gebraten, sind fettig und geschmacklos. Wenn man nicht mal solche Basics hinbekommt... Ich besuche prinzipiell nicht diese große Burgerbuden wir Mac und Co, aber definitiv schmeckt es dort besser.

We have been coming here again and again for over 20 years. Anyone who loves American food will be happy here. The best are the Angus burgers, preferably blue cheese ❤️ Spare ribs and chicken wings are also highly recommended. There are also US soft drinks and floats here. Unfortunately the Ribs and Wings Allucaneat is no longer available, I always enjoyed it. Lunch is also recommended and children get a decent kids menu here.

Despite the fact that we didn't make a reservation, we (4 adults & 2 small children) got a place straight away. The staff is friendly and there is always something for the kids to paint and food to eat in advance. My food was also very tasty and perfectly fine for the price

When we made our online reservation we had specified a birthday as the occasion and when we arrived our table was specially decorated. That was really nice, but the highlight was that after dinner we had dessert brought to the table on the house, complete with birthday music. How sweet is that? Thank you again! 🙏🏼 Food & drinks are also very good.

Burger delicious as always, unfortunately a large plate of starters is not recommended... spare ribs kept warm for too long. Nice, courteous service. The whole thing is getting a little old. But basically it hasn't lost its charm (lower area). Booking online worked great.

We haven't been to Benjamin's in a long time! Unfortunately, the performance shown could not convince us to repeat this. We had the wings as an appetizer and were already disappointed. You don't need to go to a restaurant, anyone can do this level at home. The baked potato was a little dry and the sour cream was just a tiny blob. The Caesar salad tasted good, but here too there was a lot of saving on dressing and croutons. My companion enjoyed the burger, hence the two stars. It wasn't the service, it was ok! All in all, the price/performance ratio is not right at all. The quality of the food is easy to achieve in your own kitchen and therefore it is not worth spending money on it. Repeat factor: 0%

A great US-style diner. The food is really good. The only thing I miss is the coffee refill at breakfast. Standard in the USA and should also be possible here. Coffee isn't that expensive either.

American diner as I imagine it here in this country... Good burgers, fair prices and top service...

The menu is clear and there are many American classics. We had the grill plate, the blue cheeseburger and the classic hamburger, as well as two different shakes. We would recommend everything. The hot wings and ribs were our favorites, although the burgers were also a solid 8/10!

We want you 🫵 to have breakfast here. I've been here a few times and it's always nice. I feel like I'm in the USA and unfortunately so does my scale. An American accent gives the service a certain authenticity. Jen and Berry's to the people! Prices are very fair.

Benjamins Diner is always worth a stay. I've been coming there for over 10 years. Prices have of course increased (as everywhere). The employees are always really nice. There were also new upholstery recently👍

Were there for lunch. There is a lunch menu. Depending on the burger you choose, there are burgers + fries for €9.90 or €10.90. Portion is ok. The taste is incredibly delicious. Farmburger is my favorite. Service very friendly and accommodating. Would love to come back.

A cheeseburger for 11.80 euros that is no bigger than a Hamburger Royal TS from McDonald's and not even fries that you have to order separately is more than overpriced. In addition, the meat is seasoned zero and has zero taste. Calling yourself American has nothing to do with that, Americans have burgers a thousand times better and bigger. The shop is small. However, the service was very quick and attentive. Otherwise it was the first and last time we were in here.

Good place. It was a busy night, but the orders arrive on time, the portions we're perfect- Not too big, but enough for a normal man. It was full, but not very noisy , the atmosphere was perfect. The BBQ and the burgers are ok, I would recommend sweet fried potatoes. And of course, sweet gesture for the kids to entertain themselves. I will be back. 😁

Five people had to sit at a table for four, despite reservations and enough space. When the food came there was absolutely no space left to eat comfortably.

Inconsistency is a problem here. I had tried the ribs before once, which were nothing spectacular but ok. This time I had a very bad experience, with ribs that had been prepared well before I ordered them and were partially inedible. The tale tell sign should have been how fast they came out. The place may have been good once, but those days are gone. Service was friendly.

We were there on Thanksgiving. As always, it was super tasty. Always happy again.

Highly recommended because burgers here taste like burgers and not like cardboard. We'll definitely be back. Because it is simply beautiful here. And we emphasize this again and again.

There was a time when we avoided Bemjamins because it didn't meet our expectations. Since the current team has been running the place, the food is delicious again. Burgers, ribs and wings taste great and the staff are super friendly. We will be coming back more often now.

Club sandwich was good, chocolate milkshake was okay, but service was very friendly and the restaurant was decorated with attention to detail. Would come again

That was a very nice experience. I'm glad I was there. The burger tasted super delicious. Service was also friendly. I went spontaneously and thank God I found a table! The diner is not necessarily in the center of Mannheim. And the feeling that you were suddenly in an American diner was definitely there!

Unfortunately we didn't think it was that great. The burger buns were very dry and crumbly and the burger completely fell apart while eating. The shakes were very tasty. The ambience is anything but nice. Loud, densely packed, quite a train station atmosphere. All in all, far too expensive for what you get.

When you take a seat there, you can immediately smell a wonderful smell that comes from the good food. The staff tries to quickly implement the guests' wishes. We didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive, and WHAT a meal it is! The portions are huge, it tastes fabulous and the atmosphere couldn't be more perfect. My family was fed, and that's what matters. However, I have to add two small shortcomings: We had to wait a long time before we could pay. And during the second one, my daughter unfortunately vomited on the floor. My husband and I apologized several times, but the staff seemed slightly annoyed and didn't respond. That was a little unpleasant for me. We were really very sorry about that. Otherwise, we were able to give the whole thing a good rating despite everything.

Super fast service, delicious burgers and drinks. We've driven past here so many times and wanted to go in. Today was our wedding anniversary and we don't regret it. We'll definitely be back. Everything is just right here.

We had a wonderful evening with delicious food. The chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream is divine and we got a great surprise for our birthday child. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and especially the children are treated well. We would love to come back there

As the Nane says, American style. The restaurant does justice to this. The food was OK, the service was very good, praise for the great Halloween decoration.

Once again the usual satisfaction. Good quality hamburgers, tough staff and the ambience was spruced up just before Halloween. We'll be back. The only thing that is a bit annoying is leaving a review via Opentable. Mobile phone number, first and last name and email address to create an account so that a review can be written. It's getting a bit old, the furniture urgently needs to be replaced, it makes the restaurant look a bit "dingy". The menus are also very worn and look very ugly. The food was ok, nothing outstanding or special and not particularly large portions, for the prices quoted you would actually expect more. The only real plus point - the staff, super friendly and very helpful. Conclusion, there are definitely better places where you can get American food.

Actually a very good restaurant but it's a shame about the service. Ordered a children's menu for my son. Since my son wanted sweet potatoes instead of fries, we were told that wouldn't work, even though we said we would be happy to pay an extra charge.

Bombastic! I was worried at first since there were a lot of us and with children (it's no secret, not every restaurant is welcome) but once I entered the restaurant I realized how wrong I was! Super friendly with children, you immediately feel at home. The staff welcomed us really well and were very nice, quick and with a smile until the end despite the place being full (and that's something you don't experience everywhere, especially in the evenings on weekends). The food? Sensational!! The portions are huge and delicious! The prices are also for each bag (for 7 we have just exceeded the hundreds and nowhere else have they been so full!). I would definitely like to come back, it was a really nice family experience :D

Impromptu meet-up with family was a success! I chose the bbq platter with no sauce due to an allergy! Everything g was seasoned well, and the chicken breast was tender. Next time, I will bring my own gluten free bread.to have a grilled chicken sandwich! The staff is friendly and pats attention! The music was not too loud, which allowed us to talk without screaming!

The deep fried chicken sandwich was a processed puck :( The club sandwich was really tasty though and the pulled pork sandwich looked good.
