Update after many visits..... We were there for lunch today. We always had a reservation and got a great table with a view of the Malter. The service was quick and friendly as usual, and our spare ribs and our favorite pizza were delicious and fresh as always. We had made a reservation there for a company outing and arrived later than scheduled. We received a very friendly welcome and service. Despite 12 people, everything went very quickly, and the food was all delicious and plentiful. Friendly and competent, and of high quality. I can only recommend it.

Unfortunately, I can't give it 0 stars, and unfortunately, I can't speak about the food either, because we didn't get anything. We sat for 35 minutes and no one was with us. We were completely ignored. We were given friendly looks, but nothing more. We didn't even receive a menu. But there was one good thing: we used the time to play cards. There aren't that many tables in this restaurant, and besides the manager, there were two waiters. That's really embarrassing. Even the manager who seated me didn't ask, even though he looked at us several times. As a businessman, you should at least have an overview of the 10 tables and be able to instruct your staff and work through the tables in a structured manner.

We were seated, but not served. We waited 35 minutes, then left. Embarrassing. To your response: Why do I have to draw attention to myself as a guest? Service is evident: there are no drinks on the table, no menus, or anything else. It would have been up to you and your staff to ask us.

We were here for the first time today and, unfortunately, expected more after the reopening on August 1, 2025. The positives: The restaurant is beautifully located and has a great view. We had easily reserved in advance via the website, which was a good thing, as it was completely booked. Now for the less positives: After getting our table, we had to wait about 25 minutes before we even received our menus. After another 15 minutes, the first order was taken. We ordered drinks and food together. It took another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive, and the food took about 20 minutes, which was perfectly acceptable considering the number of guests. The food tasted okay, but definitely not outstanding for the price. There were no containers with cutlery or napkins on our table. We didn't get a refill when we asked for a fork—we were simply given the fork. We reordered drinks once, but again, we had to make ourselves known because otherwise, no one would have asked. We certainly would have ordered more drinks and maybe even dessert, but no one came to ask. Overall, I'm very disappointed with our visit. The staff were all friendly, but we felt there were too few for the number of guests—hence the long wait times. It's a shame, because we won't be coming back anytime soon.

It was our first time there and we were very disappointed. The children's portion was very small (see photos). The burrata with tomato took some getting used to as the tomato was quite chewy. We also had a shrimp pizza, but two slices were missing the shrimp, and then it was partially burnt underneath, and that wasn't tasty either. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant for its exorbitant takeaway prices.

We always leave Bella Vista feeling "full and satisfied" 😀 This is no different now with the new kitchen team (since August 1st). Whether as a couple or with the whole family, you'll spend a relaxing evening here with delicious food and a fantastic view of the Malter Dam. We live nearby and have enjoyed coming here for several years. We were there for the reopening on August 1, 2025, and are happy to say that the quality of the food has returned to its former peak. Many thanks to the kitchen staff! The waitresses are very dedicated, and Mr. Neumann seems committed to training them further so they can take on even more of his hospitality skills. We were there a year ago and were very satisfied. Unfortunately, we couldn't say the same this time. First of all, our complaint was handled excellently by the owner. However, from a gastronomic perspective, there's no reason for us to visit the restaurant again. All dishes are topped with balsamic vinegar...we had that in the 90s, we don't need it anymore. Pasta with grass-fed beef...? A slightly wider strip that consisted almost entirely of fat. Pizza with ham and burrata plus extra salami...some of the ham is left out because it's not noticeable under the salami. Pasta with pesto and burrata...no pesto, just a broth made with olive oil and no idea. Just rework the concept a bit and it'll work. The ambiance on the terrace with a view of the dam is priceless.

How anyone could call this restaurant their "favorite Italian restaurant" is beyond me, unless they've truly never eaten anywhere else, let alone "Italian." Our pasta was completely tasteless, dry, and inedible. I suspect they used a microwave. The price/performance ratio is completely out of proportion here. The service was quite nice, and the ambiance is quite nice with a view of the water. But the food is a complete disaster, and looking at the tables around us, it seemed we weren't the only ones who felt that way. What a shame.

The view of the Malter River from the terrace is simply beautiful, and the food was also very good. However, we found it a bit odd that the "boss" of the restaurant was presumably conducting business on the phone in the dining room, and we could overhear a lot of what was going on. That's completely unacceptable. The service could have been a bit friendlier. She seemed a bit overwhelmed.

Always worth a visit! Good food and very friendly service.

4 people, three found the food and service to be poor to very poor, one had extreme discomfort after the pizza tonno (nighttime toilet)!!!! The staff consists of schoolgirls (who try VERY hard) but are left "alone" with virtually no training. Coffee 30-40 minutes before closing time is no longer possible! Quote: "The coffee machine has already been cleaned." End of quote. You cannot pay at the table. Apart from the fact that the restaurant and dishes have Italian names, nothing suggests "Italian" or "Italian hospitality" or "Italian hospitality standards." The restaurant has a very nice location. A little tip: As a boss or head waiter, you are a role model when it comes to things; perhaps a casual look is common in Italian restaurants AFTER work!!!

We went there spontaneously for the second time today. We got a table again. Everything was great again.

We've never been greeted so unfriendly in a restaurant!!! We had a reservation for a large group (family and relatives). Unfortunately, it started two hours early, the first of us got a stomach bug, the fifth of 23 people vomited right outside the restaurant and we drove him back. This left us with five fewer guests. The owner/host made such a mess of us all, he spent over an hour and a half setting the table for us. So, point 1: next time, the guests should apparently vomit at his feet in the restaurant, so you'll believe it. Second, illness is unpredictable! Third, setting tables doesn't take that long. Fourth, a large family also arrived at the table after us, so he didn't just set it for us. We all had little appetite after that reception, despite our repeated apologies!!! This is unacceptable!!! All the dishes were delicious! The menus and the food labels should be revised. For the dish of the day with pork medallions, it should actually be called "Schnetzeltes des Pork Medallions," because each one had at most 4 or 5 tiny (they were cut just as small as the mushrooms) very tender pieces of meat, so it was a bit small. And for the panna cotta, it would also be nice if they mentioned that it was plum compote and not as generic as the menu stated! We all found the chairs very uncomfortable! Nevertheless, I would like to say again in conclusion that it was really delicious, so kudos to the chef!

Delicious pizza & pasta at the dam - lots of nice girls serving as waitresses!

We booked a table in advance because it was very busy there. Nice view of the reservoir from the terrace. Service initially friendly. We waited a very long time for the food. Almost 1.5 hours. You then get the recommendation to take an appetizer. This is coming quickly. Even people who only ordered pizza waited longer than 1 hour. I ordered noodles with beef and got fat-streaked, gristly slices of meat. I was very disappointed and told the waitress this. I'm sorry, that was their statement and she was gone. I couldn't eat the meat so I picked it out and only ate the noodles. My husband tried but he couldn't eat the meat either. When paying I said again that I didn't like it at all. They didn't respond to that at all, they simply ignored my criticism. We actually wanted to eat there again the next day, but didn't. Conclusion: expensive restaurant, long waiting times, the staff doesn't care whether you like it.

We went to dinner at the railway festival today... The food beforehand was delicious but it took almost 2 hours Waiting for food…….even though others who came later got their food after 15 minutes, that was out of proportion for us and we weren’t the only ones who felt that way……… We were repeatedly put off by saying we had the pizza in mind…Sorry, but that’s not possible

We have eaten at Bella Vista several times, it has always been delicious and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. In addition to the cozy atmosphere, the view of the dam is also great.

Highly recommended. We called shortly before opening and although there was nothing left available, a table was set up for us. The service was very friendly, even when we tipped over a full glass. We were there for Good Friday lunchtime. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the food. In addition, some of the food was a little tasteless than we had previously known. In particular, the bruschetta didn't taste like any garlic. In addition, some portions were quite small (especially the salad with goat cheese). Of course it's all a matter of taste. The service was friendly and accommodating, apart from the long waiting time. Since we know it better from before, we'll stick with 4 stars. Otherwise I would give 3 stars.

The Bella Vista in Malter impresses with its fantastic location with lake views, delicious Italian cuisine and friendly service. Whether pizza, pasta or a glass of wine on the terrace - here you can perfectly combine enjoyment with relaxation.

Great food, great view, great service... keep it up

We were sent away before our first visit and were not allowed to order anything to take away. On our second attempt we were also sent away, even though the restaurant was at most half full. The service staff seems overwhelmed.

We were guests for the third time on February 9th. We were warmly greeted and given a table with a beautiful view of the dam. So we were able to enjoy in peace from the starter to the dessert. Everything tasted excellent. We felt like we were in Italy ourselves. Thank you for the lovely time and the wonderful food.

A special place to relax with great food and very good service

Our local restaurant – simply the best! Good staff and great service. Just go in in a good mood and everything will be fine. Some of the bad reviews here are somehow incomprehensible, somehow typically German!!! However, you shouldn't come there in a bad mood. 🤪😉🙏🏻👍🏼👌🏼

It's a shame, unfortunately that wasn't what we were used to. The service staff was nice, no question. Nevertheless, as a really well-intentioned tip: smile, communicate and open your eyes. Many things went wrong today. The pizza dough was extremely oversalted, the pasta was cooked to a sticky soft consistency, the Prosecco was completely lacking in carbonation and the plates weren't cleared for ages. Several things were put wrong... It's a shame, given the very high prices you can simply expect more as a guest. I really hope that today was an exception and doesn't become the norm from now on.

We had reserved a table for two people for Saturday evening and were shown to the prepared table. The order was taken quickly, drinks came quickly and the food came in a reasonable time. If you prepare it fresh, you should allow for a certain amount of time. The dishes tasted delicious, sea bream with grilled vegetables and ox cheeks with gnocchi and beans. We were very satisfied, and the service was friendly and attentive even though the restaurant was full. I can't understand your negative reviews. See you next time

I knew this restaurant and invited my mother here for lunch today. As always, the food was delicious, the service was attentive and friendly... The only thing that left something to be desired was the weather, but we were sitting in the dry with the best view of the dam. Absolute recommendation

The food is very tasty and the surroundings are also really beautiful. Unfortunately, what we always notice is that the operator is always very rude to his employees. Good Italian cuisine in a perfect location. Unfortunately the lunch offer is limited to buffet only with a price of €23 on weekends. This means that it is not possible to have a small snack if you are hungry in between meals. Tip: Avoid the ice garden.

Because of the good reviews and the high prices, I assumed it was a good Italian restaurant. But there is definitely no Italian chef in the kitchen here. The pizza is rather small, sparingly topped and tastes like nothing apart from the excess of Italian dried herbs, only the dough is delicious. Vitello tonnato is very, very small, but that doesn't matter in terms of quality because I wouldn't have wanted to eat more of it. Completely overpriced for the quality offered.

We were visiting Dippoldiswalde and through research we chose this beautiful restaurant on the lake with a wonderful view for the first evening. It turns out that this wasn't a culinary mistake either. All dishes were very tasty. Both the pasta and the pizza are simply recommended and so it wasn't difficult to come back. This time too we were served very well and the service was excellent. We would come back if we traveled to Dippoldiswalde again.

We had booked for 20 people and came with 15, which the employee who welcomed us noticeably didn't like. Why wasn't he interested! Personally, I didn't like being welcomed like that...but... The food and the ambience were very nicely presented. The restaurant was very busy, but there was always someone there for the guest. Great service, starters and main courses.. Can't complain... everything was there in less than half an hour.. which, as I said, is the finest! Garlic bread .. pork fillet .. and mushrooms .. everything in great order... Everything is reasonable in terms of price! ... and when it comes to drinking... everyone will find something!

We were there with 8 people and wanted to have a coffee first. Unfortunately we were turned away with the message “We are a restaurant” even though all the tables were free. We would certainly have eaten something else, but if the innkeeper doesn't want any sales, then not. Anyone who is rejected once will not come back later. Good luck, maybe a rethink will begin 🤔

I was at the restaurant with friends on Saturday. We were greeted warmly and had a nice table for three people. Every meal was delicious, special requests were catered for and we really enjoyed the evening at Bella Vista.
