Bei Cassi in Moormerland

We ended up there by chance 25 years ago. We rode our trike and stayed overnight in the log cabin. Since then, we've been there regularly...and always enjoy it. Great beer garden with friendly service and a good menu. The owner is often there, talks to everyone, and makes appointments. Weddings are a big hit here. In the summer, they also have weddings outside in the garden... Discuss details with the owner, Cassi. A huge hall is also available. I saw the preparations myself and was impressed. A fantastic buffet was set up...If you're interested, you should talk to Cassi. Another tip... Cassi is located almost exactly between Emden and Leer, making it a great starting point for any kind of daytime or evening visit to these cities. Some photos are from the Emden Matjes Festival.

Such a shame 😔, we'd heard so many positive things and unfortunately couldn't relate to it when we got there. The tables were dirty and not wiped down; you had to make your own food... with what you had. The food: we had Cassis Special with chicken... The portion was far too small, more like a children's plate than an adult's. The fried potatoes were completely overcooked and not crispy at all. The chicken was completely small, the fried egg on top was cold, and the hollandaise sauce was inedible. We will definitely not be going there again for dinner.

We sat in the beer garden in beautiful weather. Very friendly service and truly delicious food, which I highly recommend. Reservations weren't necessary as it wasn't busy, but I would recommend making one at certain times (especially during holidays like Christmas, etc.). Highly recommended. The Snirtjebraten (snack roast) was first-class, and the kale pan was also top-notch.

The ambiance is truly lovely. It's very cozy, especially for a larger group. However, we waited about an hour and a half for the food, which unfortunately arrived lukewarm. Unfortunately, no one checked our drinks, so it was rather disappointing.

We spent the night here with our caravan for the first time today and had dinner in the evening. The food was delicious. Service was first-class and always friendly. The atmosphere in the beer garden was lively, and later, when there were fewer guests, it felt almost like a family. The site for motorhomes and caravans is clean and well-equipped. We will definitely come back, if only for the food and the atmosphere.

Unglaublich...... Nach telefonischer Rücksprache mit einer Mitarbeiterin würde uns bestätigt das wir bei Verzehr mit unserem Wohnmobil kostenfrei auf dem Parkplatz übernachten können. Beim Abrechnen des Verzehr über 50€ wurden nochmals 7;50€ für's Übernachten auf dem Parkplatz verlangt. Der uneinsichtige Chef brauste auf, eine beschwichtige Klärung war nicht möglich Er verlangte 30€ und nötigte uns den Parkplatz zu verlassen Ich sagte noch das es wohl nicht sein Ernst sein kann da wir Bier getrunken haben. Darauf sagte er wir sollten gehen Gott sei Dank habe ich mein Bier nicht ausgetrunken sodass ich noch fahren konnte. Bestellt kein Jägerschnitzel, die Soße ist säuerlich und nach Rückfrage eine Fertigsoße. UNVERANTWORTLICH.. Gäste zu zwingen trotz Alkohol Verzehr den Übernachtungsplatz mit einem Wohnmobil zu verlassen. Letztendlich hätten wir auch die 7,50 bezahlt

Unbelievable,,,after checking by phone, we were confirmed that the overnight stay with the RV was free if we ate. After the meal, we were charged €7.50 for parking. The angry boss ignored our objection and instead asked us to leave the parking lot. I said he couldn't be serious because my husband had drunk beer and couldn't drive anymore. He didn't listen and told us to leave. Thank goodness I didn't finish my beer and was able to park at another parking lot.

The quality of the food is ok, the beer garden is very nice and big.

I can't recommend this beer garden because I would have liked to have something to eat, but I was skillfully ignored. Guests who came after me were at least able to place their drink orders. It's likely that only those renting the motorhome parking space are given priority. I left the beer garden after about 20 minutes and without a drink.

We were here in June 2025. We ate the crispy chicken breast fillet with fries. Service was friendly, prices reasonable, and the food was good and plentiful. If you're staying at the campsite there, you should definitely treat yourself.

We were on vacation in Moormerland-Rorichum. On the recommendation of our vacation apartment owner, we visited the Bei Cassi restaurant. We were there on Wednesday for a barbecue in the beer garden. The self-service buffet, fresh from the grill and with side dishes, was delicious. We tried various types of meat with side dishes. The value for money is very good; you pay per piece of meat, including side dishes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The COVID-19 regulations were observed. We would definitely recommend the Bei Cassi restaurant.

I've finally found a "gastronomic empire" of my own here in East Frisia. "Cassi" must be a true host. Beautiful setting 🙏 Nothing fake or fake, just real!

We had dinner at Cassi's for Mother's Day. A lunch buffet was offered. We were all very excited about the large selection. There was something for everyone. Everyone really enjoyed it and enjoyed it. The staff are lovely, kind and accommodating. Reserved again for next year. Thank you all for making my day better

We have eaten in the restaurant very often. We were always very satisfied. But the last two visits were a failure. A shard of glass in the vegetables is no fun and the completely dry beef seemed warmed up. This time we had a fish platter, the fish was fried so dead, we've never experienced anything like it. However, the service is very good.

We spent 2 nights on the pitch with our motorhome and ate in the restaurant in the evening. We were warmly welcomed and served. We can recommend both the parking space and the restaurant. If we travel to this region again, we will definitely come back.

Very tasty cuisine! The service is also very friendly and conscientious! When it comes to the ambience, you have to say that the place could use a renovation... But this dignified, somewhat retro-looking country inn definitely has its charm! The only deduction was because there was no disabled/senior citizen toilet... not that I needed it, but for an older gentleman with a walking aid, using the sanitary facilities was rather complicated and far too narrow!

A little too little meat, just small bites. Potato gratin too salty. In my opinion, baked ham was a piece of Kassler and much too dry.

We celebrated with 30 people in December. We didn't like the food at all. Soup was lukewarm and didn't taste good, schnitzel wasn't even pounded, just a thick piece of meat fried. Cauliflower was overcooked, casserole was too salty, crusts were served instead of baked ham. Red jelly was white, chocolate pudding mixed with speculoos, vanilla sauce was too thin. We ordered fresh flowers to decorate the tables - but we got artificial Christmas stars. The only good thing was the service

We were there on November 30th, 2024 and celebrated our 50th birthday. Everything was great, the waitress had her first day, but she had everything under control and was in a great mood.....food was plentiful and great as always yummy. Thanks for that....oh yes, and I think the sweet mouse who took our order is really great. Lg

Group 17 people. Breakfast was great. Service staff very nice and attentive. A beautiful morning ended in disaster. The boss, Mr. Thorsten Dupree, exhibited impossible behavior. He made a very strange impression and broke up our group. Expulsion. His argument: Too little consumption. Dear people, if everything is offered in the breakfast buffet, including juices, coffee and tea, you have everything your heart desires. Our group is totally disappointed 😞.

East Frisian delicacies, real home cooking, you can taste that again and again.

We were there with 8 people and ate 7 x Snirtje with fried potatoes and once with boiled potatoes. All dishes were reserved at the same time and hot, respect to the kitchen and the service 👍🏻💪🏻 It tasted really, really good and we can recommend it to everyone! As a small note: bring your hunger and please reserve in advance. Absolute recommendation + if we are nearby, a visit to “Bei Cassi” is a must. There is nothing more to say/write or very much the pictures 😉

We have been spending our holidays here with Cassi in the cozy apartments in the log cabin for several years! We feel welcome, the boss and service are very nice and friendly, the breakfast is delicious and rich, we like to eat and drink in the beer garden! We would love to come back here!

We celebrated an anniversary with 30 people in a relaxed atmosphere in the beer garden. There was champagne as a welcome, followed by delicious apple cake with coffee and in the evening an excellent, varied and sumptuous barbecue buffet at an extremely acceptable price. Fast service. Very well maintained facility. We will definitely come back and thank you very much again 💝

Biergarten ist nicht zu empfehlen. Freundliches, bemühtes, aber zu weniges, völlig überfordertes Personal: Das bestellte Wasser dauerte bis zum Bringen 25 Minuten, und dann kam das falsche Getränk! Eine Kugel Eis musste viermal bestellt werden bis es gereicht wurde. Das Grillfleisch war sehr dunkel, die Bratwürste schwarz! Einen vegetarischen Spieß habe ich nur auf einem anderen Teller gesehen! Einen!!! Filetspieße, Grillkäse oder Maiskolben gab es gar nicht. Trotz 4 bestellter Grillteile (17,90 €) gab es nur ein einziges hauchdünnes, fast schwarzes Stückchen Hühnerbrustfilet! Beim 2. Gang gab es nur noch einen kleinen Rest Bauchspeck. Sehr viele Gäste gingen mit leeren Tellern wieder weg. An den Tischen muss man die Augen schließen, um über kaputte und schmutzige Wachstuchtischdecken "hinweg sehen" zu können. Fazit: Total überhöhter Preis für die erbrachte Leistung!

Beer garden is not recommended. Friendly, hard-working, but too few and completely overwhelmed staff: The water we ordered took 25 minutes to be delivered and then the wrong drink arrived! A scoop of ice cream had to be ordered four times before it was served. The grilled meat was very dark, the sausages were black! I've only seen a vegetarian skewer on another plate! A!!! There were no fillet skewers, grilled cheese or corn on the cob. Despite ordering 4 grilled parts (€17.90), there was only a single wafer-thin, almost black piece of chicken breast fillet! In the second course there was only a small amount of bacon left. Many guests left with empty plates. At the tables you have to close your eyes in order to be able to "see past" the broken and dirty oilcloth tablecloths. Conclusion: Totally excessive price for the service provided!

I actually only wanted to give 4 stars because of the somewhat noisy street. But this would be unfair, as we had a clean standing area and were treated very, very friendly and uncomplicated. You immediately felt warmly welcomed. Clean, hot shower and toilet, what more could a motorhome camper want? The dishes were stately and delicious as can be seen in the pictures. Supply and disposal everything possible. 5 stars for Cassi.👍

Wir waren aufgrund eines Tipps in einem Reiseführer hier , was sich leider als schlechter Tipp erwiesen hat ! Die Bratkartoffeln waren zäh wie Gummi und fetttriefend, der Kartoffelsalat absolut geschmacklos . Ich verstehe nicht, wie man es fertig bringt, so schlecht zu kochen. Unser Fazit : Einmal und nie wieder !

Was allowed to live in the wooden hut upstairs for 1 week, uncomplicated and everything was OK. The VW currywurst in particular was just right in the evening after my bike rides, really tasty!!! And then, fall into bed + sleep. Top!!!

I was invited to the birthday party in the hall. The buffet was really great and varied. Vegetarians were also fed up. Then cake and tea or coffee. The waitresses were very nice and attentive. The hall was large, but seemed inviting.

Food was very tasty, we ordered a large currywurst with fried potatoes, 1 side salad, then the herring plate with 3 smoked herrings, fried potatoes, tartar sauce and a salad garnish, which was very plentiful. We will definitely go there again as soon as we are in the area!

We were there on a Sunday with our two grandsons and as soon as we entered the restaurant we were disappointed because it smelled of cigarette smoke. What followed was absolutely wrong. The salad we ordered was missing the bread listed on the menu. We pointed this out to the staff and they passed it on. However, the bread tasted ancient and when you looked at the edge of the bread you could see mold. We called the staff again to point out the mold. The bread was cleared away and then we returned to our table. Now they were pretending us that it was not mold but flour. We will never go there again and to make matters worse, we also discovered that children are not welcome there either, if looks could kill...

There were also dirty plates in the plate cart (meat box) and there were fruit flies at the bottom. Very disappointed as it was good a few years ago!

When a celebration is booked but it doesn't turn out as ordered, it's very sad 😢 The conditions are not the fastest and friendliness is written differently. For the first time and not again, I was a guest at a family celebration. Plates were provided in a kind of box (meat box), plates were dirty, there were old traces of grease, etc. There was dirt, flies, etc. in the box under the plates. A parasol was supposed to be put up during the meal, the waitress just said: "Who from... If you don't want an umbrella to hit your head, you should get up and move to the side." When the umbrella was put up (which was not cleaned but was very dusty, dirty and full of insects), the umbrella lost all the rubbish over the food, so the food and drinks had to be thrown away. While putting up the umbrella, another guest was hit in the head quite hard by the umbrella; there was no apology. The food was okay, but it wasn't tasty. Drinks ordered took a good half an hour from the order to the guest. With the exception of one waitress, the entire team was rather unmotivated, overwhelmed and rather unfriendly (sometimes with inappropriate comments that actually invited people to leave). We tried several times in vain to catch a waitress to order drinks and were therefore allowed to sit dry in almost 25 degrees and sunshine. Would I go there again? Definitely not!

Actually we can only judge the ambience. You come to the tables and the air is very bad. The smoking area is separated by a sliding door that doesn't help. It is constantly being opened anyway. Overall, we were happy not to have dogs eating here, but the smell of smoke is much worse. Either it would be better to separate it, or turn it into a smoking bar.
