This is unbelievable! We ordered through uber eat the order number #C5694, we choose Pommes instead of rice, we ordered one veggie chicken bowl and chicken shawarma bowl,they put rice instead of what we chose! poor portion of the vegan chicken just few pieces, like seriously what is this?? I'm so disappointed with restaurant. never again. People are not stupid!

This is a second time ordering from beets&roots and it is just getting worse and worse. They put small qty of chicken with very old vegetables and the bowl looks nothing like the pictures online. We will definitely never again order here.

This is definitely my favourite place when I want to grab fresh and delicious food to go. Especially as they have lots of vegan and gluten free options, and all allergens are clearly labelled. An extra plus for the customer service - every time I'm there I feel like I'm visiting a friend, which is hard to achieve in a chain restaurant. Highly appreciated!

Lovely little shop in Friedrichstrasse station. I had the crunchy chicken bowl and the soup. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious—especially the soup, topped with fresh cilantro. Delicious, delicious :-) I've also never experienced such friendly and welcoming staff as here. Thank you for the friendly service and the delicious food. I'll be back.

I went there today for the first time to pick up something for lunch. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and I chose a vegan bowl to take to work with me. When I opened it later I was very pleasantly surprised that underneath the top layer of vegan chicken, greens and avocado there was even more good stuff like lentils, sweet potatoes and chickpeas, and plenty of it! I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back again. Thank you!

Hello, Just wanted to talk about the bad experience i had there. First of all, the hygiene was so bad i was waiting for my food and they were making the whole bowl without gloves, and one lady there was taking her time to much talking with customers that she took forever take my order and had to miss the train. And when it comes to the atmosphere i think they could put a better playlist that would be suitable for auch place.and in the end the food was served not fresh i could tell from the bowl stains. Probably last tome for me to come there

I just ordered a Caesar chicken wrap and I'm shocked. The size of the wrap is completely unacceptable, and is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the same wrap I ordered in Hamburg two weeks ago! Your prices have gone up and the portions have gotten significantly smaller. I've been ordering from you quite often for a long time. But after this experience, I won't be ordering again!

I was there yesterday afternoon and purchased Oatmeal and a Salmon Sandwich. I’ve had the oatmeal before, but yesterday it tasted sour. I threw it out after a few bites. Today, I have woke up feeling quite sick, feels like food poisoning. There isn’t contact info for this store or on their main website to report this.

I really like their falafel bowl yesterday , it was really the perfect size for one person. I was hungry since the morning and I wanted something quick to eat and I came across them and I would definitely recommend it if you want to grab a quick bite. They offer healthy food options. Their carrot cake is cherry on top. P.S - the staff offered to try their warm bowl next time, I will give it a try.

I am a regular customer at this store and have always been satisfied. But my last visit was a complete disappointment. I was treated in the rudest manner by an employee named Michael - he was more busy with his cell phone and computer than with customers and actively ignored me. The coffee I received was so poorly made that it ended up straight in the trash. As if that wasn't enough, I had food poisoning after eating it. When I went to complain to the manager, Michael actually told me that he was the manager. This kind of behavior is unacceptable - I definitely won't be coming back. 1/5

Nuestra camarera era tan cálido y tan conocedor de nuestros maridajes de vinos. Las salsas son añadidas a los platos de tu mesa por el Chef Pascal que describe su comida con la pasión tan evidente cuando las degustas. Los tamaños de las porciones y la presentación son puntuales. Fácil de llegar utilizando el servicio frecuente de tranvía de Basilea. Con todo, muy contentos de que elegimos este restaurante en nuestra primera visita a Suiza.

I recently drop by this place to grab some food for a quick breakfast, then I left for the train. Once at the platform, I have realized that I could not find the drink bought there anymore, so I returned to that place to check whether I left it there, and the owner was so nice as he gave me a new one! Food was great, and I have really appreciated the behaviour of that person.

Wir durften im Roots den Geburtstag unserer Tochter feiern und waren total begeistert von dieser kreativen, regionalen Küche. Es gibt nur eine Weinkarte und ein Menu. Hier kann man glaube ich zwischen 8-11 Gänge haben. Der Chef servierte oft selbst und gab Erklärungen über Herkunft und Art der Speisen ab. Pascal Steffen ist ein wirklich innovativer und sehr sympathischer Mensch. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal!

Éramos un grupo de cuatro personas. Tres eligieron el menú de 8 platos (uno vegetariano, uno que incluye solo pescado y uno que incluye pescado y carne) y uno de 10 platos (incluyendo pescado). Seleccionamos el vuelo de jugos vegetales no alcohólicos para acompañar cada plato, además de agua mineral y café. Comenzamos con tres cócteles de la casa y un gin - tonic. El restaurante está muy bien decorado, con verde oscuro dominante, y las mesas están bien espaciadas. La acústica es muy buena. El servicio era impecable - amable, eficiente, tranquilo e informativo. La comida era atractiva para mirar, y el chef vertió todas las salsas en la mesa. Todo estaba cocinado a la perfección, pero -¿me atrevo a decirlo?- un poco repetitivo y poco emocionante. No hubo ni un plato que pueda recordar en un año, a diferencia de muchos restaurantes con estrellas que hemos visitado donde todavía se pueden recordar ciertos platos y sabores años después. Después de un poco de investigación, reservé Roots para mi primera cena de mi viaje de 4 días en Basilea. El restaurante de 2 estrellas Michelin está situado a orillas del Rin con una buena vista del casco antiguo. El interior es moderno y elegante. Es posible elegir 6 , 7 , 9 o 10 cursos. Como tenía mucha hambre, tomé el menú de 10 platos. Los platos eran creativos, muy bien bañados y deliciosos. El chef Pascal Steffen usó muchas verduras. El plato característico “roots garten” fue sublime tanto en presentación como en sabor. El pescado y la carne también fueron presentados y son tan buenos como las verduras. Las porciones de comida estaban bien, así que no me sentí muy lleno al final. Fui allí un miércoles. Aparte de mí, solo hay unas 4 mesas de clientes.

La cena en Roots fue uno de los aspectos más destacados de nuestras vacaciones en Suiza. Optamos por el menú degustación completo con maridaje de vinos y disfrutamos de cada minuto de nuestros 3 . ¡5 horas de comida! Combinaciones de sabores increíblemente creativas y vinos maridados por expertos con cada plato, todo explicado en detalle por miembros del personal que realmente disfrutan de su trabajo, ¡por no mencionar una gran conversación con el propio Chef! Hicimos un punto de pasar la noche en Basilea para experimentar Roots y estamos contentos de haberlo hecho. El restaurante se trasladará a un lugar más íntimo de la ciudad y solo puedo imaginar que logrará su tercer inicio Michelin después de la mudanza.

I absolutely love this place for a quick grab and go lunch. Their salad bowls are amazingly tasty, they have very healthy and delicious ingredients and it’s also visually appealing. It is a good value for the price I think, although obviously it’s not the cheapest option. The service is also usually quite quick, efficient and friendly. I think it’s definitely a great choice for lunch or something to eat on the go.

Über die letzten Jahre konnten wir die unglaubliche Entwicklung vom Roots Basel mitverfolgen. Was Pascal Steffen mit seinem Team jeden Tag leistet, ist einfach nur top. Unser 10 Gänge Menu mit Weinbegleitung (mit und ohne Alkohol) war bei jedem Gang ein Erlebnis für sich… Der Roots Gemüsegarten ist ein geschmackliches Erlebnis mit rund 30 verschiedenen Gemüsen. Die Forelle mit Brokkoli war perfekt gegart, besser geht nicht! Risotto mit Mais - einmal anders!! Der Hauptgang mit der Wachtel und Kohlrabi, zusammen mit der genialen Sauce, welche power und viel tiefe hatte, war nur genial. Ein riesen Sprung zu früher! Die Desserkreationen ob mit Zucchetti, Olivenöl oder fruchtigem, waren den perfekten Abschluss. Abgerundet wurde das ganze durch das herzliche und perfekte Serviceteam. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

The offer and concept appealed to me, so I bought a sandwich in the morning despite the high prices. However, I was very disappointed. The bread wasn't fresh and was already dry on the edge, and the trick here is that the topping is only placed in visible areas. It's a shame, but that's not possible, especially given the prices. I'm not coming back.

I'm a real fan of the sandwiches! The employees are also very nice, even after my sandwich fell down after purchasing it, the colleague offered me a new one straight away.

Catastrophe! Small portion sizes and extremely unfriendly staff! We ordered 2 identical bowls and had a weight difference of 72 grams! Which makes up about 20% of the total bowl. When we politely pointed out to the employee that one bowl was almost empty, she just waved us out of the store. Once and never again.

Das Roots ist ein von innen sehr warmes Lokal. Das ganze Ambiente hat gepasst. Einen sehr angenehmen Service mit empathischen Mitarbeitern. Wir hatten schon in ersten Moment ein sehr gutes Gefühl. Große Klasse das auch die Köche uns die Gänge serviert und erklärt haben. Jeder einzelne Gang war sehr gut aufeinander abgestimmt. Für sein Geld erhält man hier eine exzellente Qualität.

Very nice little spot of tasty salad bowl and wrap. The salad bowl choices is pretty good with various different style of dressing and origin influences. From Oriental to Asian style combine with European ingredients which make not only complex taste but delicious. I try avocado salad with grilled chicken and in the bowl they have sweet potatoes, chickpeas and small amounts of spinach with yoghurt dressing. Its pretty delicious and the price is just right for the quality of the food. The staff is very friendly and it’s cash less so prepare your plastic money :)

I was always a fan of the branch on Hamburger Straße, but unfortunately this branch in Bahnhof F. does not meet my expectations. A salad for rounded up 11 euros. Inside was: half an avocado, some feta, a few dried tomatoes, and otherwise the box was really just filled with green salad. This is not a complete lunch!

Ein wirklich unvergessliches Erlebnis. Ist etwas abseits gelegen und trotzdem sehr schön direkt am Rhein. Eine Schöne moderne Einrichtung. Service und Köche aind sehr freundlich. Mir ist ein Tropfen sauce aufs Hemd getropft beim Servieren und ich habe ein Glas selbstgemachte jus geschenkt bekomen, hat sich also gelohnt. Essen und das dazugehörige Weinpairing sind wirklich sehr gut. Einfallsreiche gänge mit viel Gmüsse und top Saucen. Ich komme wieder.

I ordered here - unfortunately the portion was much smaller than usual in the store on Dorotheenstrasse, for example. The quality was okay, but the price was far too high for the small amount of mainly cheap ingredients. Although there is nice and well-thought-out food here, the prices are bordering on outrageous.

Was hier aus Gemüse gemacht wird, ist hohe Kunst. Feine, harmonische Geschmacksrichtungen, überraschende Texturen, Gerüche, Farben, Formen, hier wird mit allen Sinnen genossen. Ich war vor ein paar Jahren hier, nachdem Herr Steffen frisch nach Basel gekommen ist. Schon damals war er in der Topliga. Aber er hat sich noch weiter gesteigert. Ich bin wirklich begeistert. Besonders hervorheben mochte ich auch sein junges Service Team, welches kompetent, enorm freundlich und sehr erfrischend ist. Vielen Dank für dieses besondere Erlebnis, wir kommen gerne wieder und werden nicht mehr 5 Jahre warten.

I ate twice at this place and the food was very good. Vegetarian options are beyond most fast food venues nearby, except if you like eating processed vegan protein in the form of schnitzels and currywursts. The portion was big for me, so I was full the whole day with just one bowl. Recommending to tress-passers.

Das Roots ist wie gewohnt top. Das Küchen- und Serviceteam hat sich zum Vorjahr weiter entwickelt - ein großes Kompliment an das ganze Team. Sämtliche Gerichte vom Gourmet-Menu waren für sich ein Erlebnis. Perfekte Garpunkte, tolle Geschmackskombinationen, geniales Gemüse und vieles mehr runden das ganze ab. Der Service begleitet die hochstehende Küche an der Front mit viel Herzlichkeit und Fachkompetenz. Die Wein- sowie Alkoholfreie Begleitung zu den einzelnen Gerichten harmonierten hervorragend. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Bel endroit au bord du Rhin, malheureusement terrasse fermée mi septembre, on a l’impression que d’ailleurs elle n’a jamais existé puisque tout est désespérément vide !!!! Dîner donc à l’intérieur, il fait chaud, pas de clim. Le personnel est impersonnel !!! Jean, basket et chemise blanche, enfin plus vraiment !!! Aucune déco, juste une bougie de supermarché, bref un peu juste pour ce niveau. Bonnes saveurs, les vins s’accordent avec les plats. Un peu juste au niveau des desserts.
