One imagines a traditional wine tavern to be something quite different. Bauerle's Besen resembles an asparagus, goose, and beef factory, with a huge hall serving as a dining area, an extremely high noise level, canteen-style service, and hefty prices. Not very pleasant. It's a mystery what attracts guests here. But everyone has to decide that for themselves!

Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant encounter with the staff: questions were met with very curt and rude answers. Furthermore, when purchasing farm products at reception, we were ignored for several minutes. For this reason, we simply left the products there. Moreover, this has nothing to do with a broom; as described above, it only showed us that this place is solely about quantity and money. Very disappointing.

After a long time, I wanted to eat goose again. I got a table immediately without a reservation. My drink arrived promptly, as did the food. It was delicious. The selection of dishes is adequate. The premises are reminiscent of a huge cafeteria; you have to like that sort of thing. But the food was delicious, there was hardly any wait, and everything was fine. I can recommend it.

For atmosphere, I stop at 4/5 stars (my subjective opinion). The place probably has almost 200 seats, which makes it feel a bit impersonal and sometimes too loud for conversation. We're looking forward to the Rinderbesen starting February 24th!

Bauerle's Goose Broom is a yearly tradition. We absolutely love it there. The decor is beautiful and tasteful, both inside and out. The food is delicious, and the portions are generous. As a complimentary starter, they serve a small goose broth – just the right thing to get you in the mood. The wines and schnapps are from their own vineyard. I love the duck ragout with butter-roasted bread dumplings. I serve it with either lamb's lettuce or their very tasty red cabbage. Side dishes can be ordered separately. You feel completely at ease. I always pick up some Christmas gifts from their attached shop before leaving. Bauerle's Goose Broom comes highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the service exhibits a certain arrogance, which is entirely inappropriate given the sometimes lengthy waits for orders. The food itself is delicious, but the prices are ambitious for what's offered, even by Stuttgart's standards. Luckily, the wine is excellent – it's worth spending a few extra euros for that.

We paid approximately €40 per person for the goose, including bread dumplings and red cabbage. At this price, one expects a certain level of quality. When we pointed this out to the staff, they simply acknowledged it (without an apology). Very disappointing.

Anyone looking for a traditional wine tavern will find Bauerle's more like a large restaurant. The parking situation is convenient, there's a playground for children, and a charging station for e-bikes (but only with your own charger). The interior is nicely furnished, but essentially one huge hall with partitions and a correspondingly high noise level. For our starter, we had two Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli), which are served only with gravy and onions (€13.90). The gravy and onions were excellent, but the Maultaschen were absolutely terrible in texture, with very little meat and a lot of vegetables, especially considering the price. For our main course, we had two meatballs with potato and lamb's lettuce salad in gravy. The potato salad was a 5/10, the meatballs a 3/10, as they were very dry inside. The wood-fired bread has to be ordered separately; it was also very dry and disappointing in both texture and taste. ... The bee sting cakes were absolutely delicious with coffee, but I usually go to a café for dessert. The service was sometimes overwhelmed, and there wasn't much of a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, our visit fell far short of our expectations, and we won't be returning to this place, as there are plenty of other tasty options in the Rems-Murr region.

A very large, modern inn, it no longer resembles the traditional "Besen" (traditional "beers") but is otherwise very nicely done. We were there for the "Geese Besen" (goose-beers), but €40 for goose with red cabbage and dumplings is simply too expensive. While the portion was very large, the goose was relatively dry, and the red cabbage tasted far too strongly of alcohol, probably red wine, for me. Overall, the price-performance ratio is not good.

So we wanted to try Rinderbesen because it's always so busy and we've heard so many positive things. The atmosphere is pretty cool, I have to say, but not quite my thing. The food was okay. We expected a lot more. The value for money is definitely not good. One meal was also forgotten. Then there was a change of waiter, and the lady had no idea what had happened to us or not. We were there with the family. The roast beef, medium-sized Maultaschen (swabian ravioli), and the burger are highly recommended. The side dish, the Brägele (sausage dumplings), was more like potato wedges and not seasoned. The sauce could have used more flavor. The breaded beef schnitzel was very poorly made: much too thin, with a cheap coating, and had been in the fryer for too long (burned shoe soles). The staff was friendly, but a tip: the table should only be cleared when no one is eating. Otherwise, a nice, modern atmosphere.

We've been there several times in the last few years, but won't be returning anytime soon. The broth comes from a paper cup, not the usual ceramic bowl, cold and self-service. The asparagus is "old French" dry (asparagus topped with three thin slices of Camembert) and that's it for €21.90. The prices for drinks and food in general are completely exorbitant and overpriced. Everything is very superficial in terms of service. It's a shame, really, because you could do more with less.

Dining here is like a poem. The taste is unparalleled, and the portion sizes satisfy even the most seasoned eater. Fresh produce from our own gardens, and the option to take everything home from our shop next door. I called a while ago to reserve a table for four people. Friendliness on the phone was unfortunately completely misunderstood here. Since we had an hour's drive, I wanted to make sure we got a table (which is why you call in the first place). I was told to just drop by, as they don't take reservations. The tone was not only very harsh but incredibly rude, for no reason. When I asked again whether another day would be better, I was treated like I was stupid. First of all, we have been customers and guests for years, including at Spargelbesen. Last year, we thought it was a slip-up, but this year, unfortunately, the disappointment has repeated itself. First of all, the table service is excellent; that's really rare. But now to the criticism: - The soup that came with it bore no relation to what was usually served. Too heavily seasoned, especially pepper, and bitter. Okay, the chef's greeting doesn't always have to be good, but this was completely unacceptable. - The tarte flambée (all of them) had almost no sour cream on the crust; the bacon just barely fell off. Onions were completely missing from the Alsatian tarte flambée, which is completely unacceptable and can't even be justified by the "Alsatian style." A tarte flambée for almost €14. You'd actually expect something. - The asparagus carbonara was almost runny in all of them – slightly thickened, not at all creamy as usual, and unfortunately quite tasteless. And no, adding more salt won't help either. You could have found asparagus in there, and the price of almost €17 is pretty cheeky. - only the "slim asparagus" was okay in terms of value for money and also tasted okay. But the "best" is yet to come. The kitchen is so inflexible that they don't offer children's or senior citizen portions because (quote from the service) "that's too much work for the kitchen." Well, our real Besen around the corner can handle that, and any other halfway decent restaurant can, as standard. All in all, you end up with a hefty bill and, unfortunately, confirmation that the quality and value for money are continually declining. An absolute disappointment, and unfortunately, we won't be seeing you again.

Another visit on May 28, 2025, with 5 people at Spargelbesen: This time, everything was perfect again, and the asparagus was buttery soft! The portions were very generous (see the last two photos). I love it! Except for the above-average price, we were all very satisfied! Special praise goes to our friendly and attentive service!! Visit/Review from 2024 for visit to Gänsebesen: We have been coming to Bauerles Besen in Fellbach-Schmiden twice a year (Spargelbesen/Gänsebesen) with friends and (ex-)colleagues for at least 20 years. We were always impressed by the good quality of the seasonal dishes on offer and very satisfied! This year, for the first time, I was very disappointed with my roast goose, which, by the way, cost €29.90 without any side dishes! Not only was the portion (accidentally) small, but the meat (a single piece without bones) was extremely dry, and the meat on the leg was so dry that it couldn't be cut with a knife and fork! The red cabbage, on the other hand, was delicious as usual (separate price component), as were the dumplings as a side dish (not chosen)! The other dishes (meatballs, potato salad, or goose pan) were good! Despite this year's disappointment, we will be back next year during asparagus season and Advent and hope that this time it was just a one-time slip-up! The location and staff are expressly excluded from criticism, as they were very nice and exceptionally friendly!

The wines offered often resemble blackcurrant spritzers and, due to their lack of quality, do not justify the high price. Further training in the South African wine region of Franschhoek could help improve the wine selection and produce high-quality wines. The food in the restaurant is delicious, and the dishes are prepared promptly under heat lamps and brought to the table. Prices have risen considerably since the simpler days when the restaurant was still a broom in a tent. A simple meal for two people, without dessert, now costs around €85. The service is friendly and attentive, but often overwhelmed, especially during peak times. This somewhat impairs the service. There's an elderly lady at the reception whose unfriendliness is noticeable. Hospitality, such as eye contact, a smile, and a kind word, is often lacking here, which tarnishes the first impression. Unfortunately, the restrooms were not in an appetizing condition, which also raises questions about the general hygiene of the restaurant. There is an urgent need for action to improve cleanliness and hygiene. Overall, the experience at Restaurant Bäuerle can be described as "always trying." It would be time to make some changes, especially in the reception area, to provide guests with a consistently positive experience.

Once a year, during asparagus season, it's traditionally a long-awaited event for us. We reserved a table months ago, which is necessary because it's always packed and every table is full. Nevertheless, we were seated extremely uncomfortably with three people in the farthest, darkest corner at a tiny table (80x100cm). Criticisms were expressed, but only justifications and no alternatives. Very disappointing! The asparagus wasn't good this time either – watery and completely tasteless. The side dishes were otherwise of a high standard, which is to be expected for the price. That was it for us here; it was the last time. It's a shame, but it can't go on like this.

With the new asparagus season upon us, we wanted to eat asparagus again. Even though they aren't the cheapest... the food is okay. When we got there, it happened... The website says opening hours are until 11 p.m., but when we arrived at 9:20 p.m., they outrageously said the kitchen is open until 9 p.m. And kitchen hours aren't actually opening hours, so next time I'll just call ahead... I was just unlucky as a customer, I was rudely told. Terrible service, there are plenty of other restaurants who are happy to take my money. I definitely won't leave it here.

The mecca for asparagus lovers in the Stuttgart region. The Spargelbauerle offers the freshest and most delicious dishes with every imaginable side dish. Asparagus broth (self-service) is available as an amuse-bouche. Everything is well organized. The attached fruit and vegetable shop, with its wide variety, is also highly recommended.

No, unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. Too big, too loud, and you feel rushed. Too crowded, the food arrived in less than 10 minutes, and the asparagus was soggy.

A few years ago, when it all began, with beer benches and tables in a tent right in the field, the food was something truly special and beyond delicious! Today's visit left me more than disappointed. The asparagus was very hard, not even warm, woody, and not even properly peeled. For the price they charge—a disgrace! Absolutely NOT recommended anymore! A lot of money wasted on run-of-the-mill asparagus. No thanks.

A huge pub, the service was very friendly, and everything was very cozy and clean. However, the prices are quite high. €18 for a side schnitzel is quite expensive in my opinion. The asparagus, on the other hand, was very well prepared and perfectly reasonable in price. The dessert is worth every cent.

We have never had such a large portion of asparagus in a restaurant. I had 13 spears of green asparagus with vinaigrette and scrapes. All very tasty. The asparagus is exactly on point. The other asparagus dishes were also delicious and rich.

A lovely restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service staff. Very good value for money. Large portions, enough to satisfy everyone. Parking is available at the Kelter Fellbach winery. VfB games are broadcast live, at least that's how it was for us. Therefore, depending on the occasion, it's worth checking when and how the game is being played. It feels more like a sports bar then. All in all, highly recommended. See pictures for more impressions.

What a cozy and delightful lunch! Great ambiance, decorated in a slightly Alpine style, like a hunter's lodge. Subtly festive. Very attentive staff. Professional and courteous. Delicious duck breast, just a touch too pink, with fantastic potato fritters. The white radish soup beforehand was delicious. The Swabian Finanziera was an exceptional and gourmet surprise. A great idea for offal lovers. We'll be back.
