We felt very comfortable. The service was friendly and extremely attentive. The food was also delicious.

Yesterday, I spontaneously went to the Bastei for the first time, one of the increasingly rare restaurants offering "home-style cooking." At first, I just wanted a drink, which was no problem at all for the service staff; it was practically taken for granted (though that's not always the case). The perfectly chilled Bitburger was served, as always, in my favorite 0.2-liter glass, and on the terrace (also not a given). Especially in summer, it's nice to try something new often. I then decided to have something to eat and chose the sausage goulash from the current weekly menu. As mentioned several times in other posts, it took a while for the food to arrive. However, it was very fresh and, in my opinion, prepared with high-quality ingredients. I enjoyed it immensely. The staff and owner were extremely friendly and attentive. So, everything worked out for me, and I will definitely go there again.

The food is amazing. I had a chili cheeseburger and my wife had a schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce. Everything was fresh and homemade. It was delicious. The owners are very friendly and strive for perfection. We'll be eating there again soon; we're staying at the campsite just down the street.

We had the all-you-can-eat prawns evening. It was delicious, as always! Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow due to a staff shortage, but in the end, we were all satisfied and very full. We'd love to come back!

Today, nine of us went to the Bastei for the all-you-can-eat prawns. The prawns, as well as the bread and dip that came with them, were truly delicious in terms of taste and quality; there's nothing to complain about. However, we were very disappointed with the service and the quantity. Initially, we were given three large casserole dishes of prawns, which initially looked good. However, we then had to wait about an hour for a refill, which then consisted of only three very small bowls. After another three-quarters of an hour, we received just one more casserole dish, just like at the beginning, for nine people! Unfortunately, none of us were full, which shouldn't happen with an all-you-can-eat meal for €27.50 per person. Each of us ended up eating a maximum of 15 prawns. If you offer a concept like this, you should also have the capacity to implement it and satisfy your guests. Overall, the taste was excellent, but the service and quantity were very disappointing. We won't be back.

We ordered fried fish (Friday, "Fried Fish Day") with potato salad and a currywurst with fries. Unfortunately, the fried fish wasn't crispy, but rather mushy, and the fish itself was unseasoned. Perhaps that's intentional (?), but unfortunately, it was inedible for us. The potato salad was also awful. The homemade curry sauce was the best part for my wife. All in all, we can't recommend our meal to others. We don't presume to disparage the restaurant as a whole, but our visit was disappointing. The response to my review is cheeky and untrue. We certainly didn't finish our plates. I didn't claim that the fish was frozen, but rather that the breading wasn't crispy and the fish was otherwise unseasoned. We explained our criticism to the server in detail and clearly. Just a small incident: A neighboring table ordered a chef's salad with ham and egg. About 10 minutes later, the waitress came back and explained that the ham was out. Sorry... that's probably just a bad joke, right?

Unseren Besuch der Gaststätte habe ich auf Google geschildert. Der Gegenrede des Inhabers sei an dieser Stelle entschieden widersprochen. Keinesfalls haben wir die Teller vollständig leer gegessen, das ist schlichtweg falsch. Wir haben unsere Kritik am Essen der Servicekraft in allen Einzelheiten und in aller Deutlichkeit geschildert und nicht erst öffentlich. Wir haben auch nicht behauptet, dass der Fisch TK - Ware ist, nur, dass die Panade nicht kross, sondern 'latschig' sei. Dass der 'Chef' seinen Chefsalat mit Schinken und Ei leider einem Gast am Nebentisch nicht servieren konnte, da der Schinken 'aus' sei, spricht Bände. Es mag ja sein, dass die anderen Gäste das Essen als hervorragend bezeichnen, für uns war es das nicht. Es ist für uns ganz einfach: Die Kochkünste der Chefin (gleichzeitig Köchin) sind sehr, sehr bescheiden. Punkt und Ende

We stopped in spontaneously after a bike ride. A lovely outdoor terrace with plenty of seating. We were served promptly. Drinks arrived promptly, and the two schnitzels arrived within a perfectly reasonable time. The salad was fresh and lovingly prepared. The schnitzel wasn't drowned in sauce. The fries were super delicious from a local supplier. We felt very comfortable, were more than satisfied, and will definitely be back!

Hallo das soll jetzt eine konstruktive Kritik sein!!! Falls man das versteht!? Das gesamte Restaurant ist in die Jahre gekommen d.h. alles ziemlich heruntergekommen und dunkel gehalten. Mobiliar und Polster nur für den Kurzaufenthalt zu empfehlen. Service ok jedoch sollte man sich nach wiederholtenmale der Nase putzen die Hände waschen!! Auch ein großer Hund sollte sich dort und gar nicht freilaufend auch nicht im Küchenbereich befinden (Gesundheits-Ordnungsamt)!! Auch der Geräuchpegel war absolut störend (Kartenspieler) welche sich schockartig bemerkbar machten!! Zu den Gerichten ist zu erwähnen zwar große Portionen aber sehr schlecht bis gar nicht gewürzt und abgetimmt zu den jeweiligen Gerichten von wegen (Schnitzel vom Duroc Schwein) absolut nicht nachvollziehbar stimmt nicht!! ich kenne mich da aus!! Salat Mini und nicht knackig. Fritten pappig. Evtl. sind Stammkunden anderer Meinung - aber nochmals das soll eine konstruktive Kritik sein - evtl. kann ja optimiert werden. LG

Überragendes Lokal, super Bier, hervorragendes Essen, wenn man in Jülich ist muss man diese Sehenswürdigkeit besuchen

Hier gibt es das best gezapfte Pils in Jülich. Die Inhaber wie Bedingungen sind äußerst nett und dazu auch noch flott mit dem Bier an den Tisch bringen. Hier erzählt sich auch keiner einen Paulaner.

Sehr gute Küche mit regionalen Zutaten im urigen und gemütlichen Ambiente! Es gibt neben der normalen Speisenkarte ein wechselndes wöchentliches Angebot. Die Speisen werden professionell und liebevoll zubereitet sowie ansprechend garniert und serviert. Was heute auch nicht selbstverständlich ist, es gibt selbstgemachte Saucen und Dips! Das Fleisch aus dem hauseigenen Smoker ist ein Traum! Der Service ist kompetent, sehr freundlich und geht auf Sonderwünsche ein! Und wenn man einfach nur ein gepflegtes Fassbier genießen möchte, so ist auch dies möglich! Eine einladende Terrasse ist ebenfalls vorhanden.

Das Essen war schnell da, die Bürger waren echt lecker, die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, dafür dass es voll war mussten wir auch garnicht lange warten.

Delicious cold Kölsch, friendly staff

I have to admit, I wouldn't have chosen this restaurant without an invitation from a friend and would have missed out on a great schnitzel. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an old pub with a bar, but everything is very clean. There is also outdoor seating. The service is good and the restaurant is family-run, which I think is very good, the atmosphere is great. The only flaw is the parking situation, but the restaurant can't help that.

People who want to give a bad review are very quick to do so, but if it is very good and worthy of a review, based on my own experiences, this usually takes forever or is usually forgotten and that's why I want to do it immediately. So our children and our wives were not at home on a Saturday evening. My best friend and I don't feel like sitting at home alone... So, because of an important conversation, we decided to drink a delicious or, in our opinion, the best Kölsch and then eat something and then to continue drinking... let's go to the Bastei in Jülich. Since we both value good meat/food and the beer is fresh from the barrel, we decided on the Bastei in Jülich, because we have been there before, but in ancient times. Everything else in Jülich is known. Not all schnitzel are the same and every time I go somewhere new I ask, is the schnitzel frozen or fresh? Is this left out in the pan or in the deep fryer? Because I just love good schnitzels! How often are you lied to by the waiter... All you have to do is look at the schnitzel and you know exactly what this schnitzel was made in. Since the Bastei not only leaves the schnitzel in the pan, but also uses very special pork, regional, I tested this schnitzel and I can tell you... I have never eaten such a schnitzel with this taste experience in my entire life.. .. It's absolute madness what's served there. The price-performance ratio is absolutely unbeatable. Seating is limited so be sure to book in advance... And even if some people report that it sometimes takes longer, everything is prepared fresh, even the side dish of fried potatoes, onions and bacon... Is prepared new and fresh every time... I saw it with my own eyes. .. A down-to-earth landlady. Dedicated employees behind the counter. Very friendly staff . And the Bastei is the number 1 schnitzel address in Jülich... And no, I am not paid for this review... And as a reward for the landlady, I booked another table for Sunday. Message for the landlady... After today you won't be able to get rid of me any time soon and I'll become a regular customer of your Schnitzel... We'll see each other again tomorrow... Der Außenbereich ist gut gemacht, auch wenn die Straße vorbei läuft. Die Getränke sind schnell bestellt und auch gebracht und die Gerichte sind frisch zubereitet. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Danke Team.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und wird individuell frisch zubereitet mit Produkten aus der Region (eigentlich 5 Sterne). Leider ist auch in der Woche so viel los, dass man immer 1-2 Stunden darauf warten muss. Bei den Getränken läuft es etwas besser, die Kellner sind fleißig aber auch überlastet. Fazit: Das Lokal hätte in allen Bereichen 5 Sterne verdient ist aber an seinem Limit.

Fünf Sterne sind mehr als verdient! Exzellentes Essen und ein perfekter Service garantieren einen unvergesslichen Besuch. Meine Empfehlung und jederzeit wieder. Selbiges kann ich ebenfalls für das angebotene Catering bestätigen, welches ich kürzlich für die Eröffnung meines Immoshops in der Kölnstr. 21-23, Jülich in Anspruch genommen habe.

Gut, bodenständig, regional und herzlich - das erlebt man in der Bastei in Jülich. Das Winter-Corona-Vorzelt ist weg und das ist gut so, so sitzen wir draußen gemütlich an gedeckten Biertischen in der Abendsonne und genießen unsere Schnitzel. Die gibt es alle in zwei Größen und die Zutaten kommen von regionalen Anbietern: handgeschnittene Kartoffeln aus Merzenhausen für die knusprigen Fritten, frische Champignons, hausgemachte Salatsaucen, das Fleisch kommt vom Metzger um die Ecke. Freundlicher, schneller Service. Obendrein ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis prima und so freuen wir uns und sagen "auf bald" in der Bastei.

Super leckeres Essen hier! Damals bei unserem ersten Besuch dachten wir, geben wir dem Laden Mal eine Chance. Und es lohnt sich wirklich! Super nette und freundliche Begrüßung. Wir mussten nicht lange auf unser Essen warten. Und das Essen war sooo gut. Wir kommen gerne immer wieder hierher, da auch das Ambiente zum Verweilen einlädt. 🎊

Also das essen ist wircklich eine 10 von 10 und alles aus der region. Der service ist auch gut und sehr freundlich konnte etwas schneller sein, das bier ist zidem aich sehr lecker und günstig. Das Ambiente ist sehr altbacken was echt schade ist aber in der kneibe geht es noch Aber im ganzen ein super laden in dem man echt gut essen gehen kann. Dafur daumen hoch und die preise sind auch gut.

Hallo...... Wir waren am zweiten Weihnachtstag bei Ihnen zum Essen. Ich muß sagen draußen im Zelt war es wärmer als im Restaurant. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben, wi waren alle kalt.Meine Enkelin hatte ihre Jacke den ganzen Abend ,es war nicht gemütlich tut mir leid.

Wij waren opzoek naar een plekje om te eten en kwamen uit op dit lokale restaurantje. Het was een zeer eerlijke Duitse keuken, alles is super vers. Het personeel is vriendelijk. De Schnitzel is TOP zeker een aanrader.

Wir waren heute zu viert in der Bastei. Wir haben lecker gegessen und getrunken. Der Service war klasse, das Essen lecker und ganz wichtig es war sauber. Kommen gerne wieder.

Haben zu zweit an einem Freitag abend noch ohne Reservierung den letzten Tisch bekommen. Leider war die Geräuschkulisse im kleinen Nebenraum sehr laut. Schade, denn ansonsten gab es nichts zu bemängeln. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und umsichtig. Wir hatten 2mal das Rumpsteak und waren von der Qualität sehr begeistert.

Super gutes Essen. Man muss Platz reservieren, denn sonst kein Platz das sagt ja genug. Kommen wieder.

I had a schnitzel dressed with onions and champignon, with roasted potatoes. It was absolutely delicious! I had a senior portion, which is a bit smaller of the standard one, but still big enough to have some troubles finishing it! All the main courses come with a small side salad, which was also very good. The dinner included a Weiss beer and I paid a little over 15€.

die letzte ur-jülicher kneipe, in der man sich (auch unter neuer führung) rundum wohlfühlt und verwöhnt wird. süffiges bier, zügig und freundlich serviert, wie schon bei horst und jupp gewohnt, ein guter auftakt. die karte ist - für eine kneipe - sehr vielfältig. ... und das, was die küche auf den tisch zaubert, ist uneingeschränkt zu loben. alles geschmackvoll zubereitet und - dank aufmerksamem personal - in bester temperatur auf dem tisch. qualität und quantität in keinster weise zu beanstanden. zuvorkommende bedienung und uriges ambiente runden den genuß ab. uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!
