We spontaneously decided to have my boyfriend's birthday dinner at Basta. We were immediately impressed by the atmosphere upon entering. Regarding the wine, we received excellent advice in addition to the wines recommended on the menu, and were even able to sample four different varieties to help with our initial uncertainty. Fantastic! The pizzas were incredibly delicious, but the warm chocolate cake for dessert was divine and probably the best I've ever eaten. We'll definitely be back and are already looking forward to summer. The outdoor lighting looked incredibly cozy, even in autumn.

Finally being able to eat real pizza without the long journey to Italy ;) Basta is recommended for anyone who has ever had the pleasure of eating real Italian pizza and has never been happy in any restaurant since. Since Basta is part of a wine shop, the wine selection is naturally fantastic. However, the seating is more stylish than comfortable or functional. Tip: If you plan on eating something, insist on a table. No one can tell me it's pleasant to eat at a cable reel at knee height.

We've been there several times, but probably the last time in two days. €17.50 for a glass of red wine (regular Primitivo) that doesn't even come from the wine cooler and is above room temperature. That's absolutely outrageous. Those are Munich prices, where at least you sit on comfortable chairs and not in the backyard of a former garage. The waitress took forever to come to the table, and then she didn't even know the menu. That may all be well and good, but not for prices like that. On top of that, they even served a Pinot Blanc instead of the Pinot Gris we ordered. They still charged €16.50 for that glass. I'm almost tempted to use the word "outrageous" when it comes to the prices for a place like Magdeburg.

I’ve been dining at Basta for years and it’s always been one of my favorite spots. They have amazing food, great wine, and usually the friendliest service. On my last visit though, the service felt a bit off compared to their usual standard. Some simple requests were forgotten a few times, and overall we felt a bit overlooked, even though it wasn’t particularly busy. The staff was polite, but it just lacked the warmth and attentiveness that usually make Basta such a standout experience. Hopefully just an off night, because I really love this place and want to keep coming back for years to come!

The pizza is very good and as an Italian I think that’s even more valuable. The only wrong thing I remember is that the “funghi” pizza must be called “prosciutto funghi” since it has the ham, too. But that’s a minor thing Good job

The ONLY pizza place in Magdeburg that truly deserves that name. While I often enjoy making Neapolitan pizza myself, Basta is a good supplier of pizza of similar quality :)

First of all, the food was absolutely delicious! We had two pizzas, both of which were really tasty and fresh, and for dessert, the rhubarb crumble, although the rhubarb was a bit hard, but still tasted great. Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. The waiters seemed a bit overwhelmed at times, and we felt left alone. Additionally, we were seated on the terrace in the blazing sun, and even though everything was still available (we had a reservation for 5 p.m.), it seemed a bit difficult to find a table in the shade. Overall, that was a bit of a shame; apparently, tables aren't double-booked in the evenings. We were allowed to switch seats after all, and luckily, we didn't end up with sunburn or sunstroke :D Paying was also a bit chaotic. First, we were told we couldn't pay at the bar, like the times before. A bit confusing.

The pizza and wine were very good. If you like Neapolitan pizza, you've come to the right place. Excellent Italian ingredients and delicious, truly Italian wines. Unfortunately, the tables, made from industrial cable reels, are very rough, much too low, and there's a risk of splintering. One suggestion for improvement would be to sand them down or at least hammer the nails down. Alternatively, a transparent silicone mat could be placed on top. But all in all, a very good restaurant with friendly service and great food.

We took a Basta wine tour on the Elbe. The guides were very friendly, and Basta's wine selection was excellent. The experience was thoroughly enjoyable, with sunset and wine.

So, it's a real shame that there are no regular drinks like Coke or Fanta, but instead, you get new German spring carbon dioxide with flavor for €4.50!

I was so impressed with the food. It was the final blow. I've never eaten such delicious tomato soup. The pizza was amazing. Please keep up the good work. It's amazing 🙏🏻

The food at Basta is truly delicious – expensive, but top-notch. Unfortunately, the rest of the place wasn't quite right for us. The staff seemed rather unfriendly/arrogant and reminded us of the house rules, as if we had to "beg" for attention. Although other tables were reserved but still empty, we were seated in the blazing sun in temperatures over 35°C – that's not exactly comfortable. The idea of using old cable reels as tables sounds creative, but it's impractical: glasses are tilted, and you can't sit comfortably. Overall, the whole place feels hip and unwelcome as a guest. We actually wanted to stay longer and order dessert, but in the end, we only had pizza and drinks – and left. It's a shame, because with friendlier service, we would probably come here more often. But unfortunately, not again.

We went to Basta for a girls' date (7 people). The atmosphere (both inside and out) is relaxed, and the food is delicious. The staff was super friendly and uncomplicated—we received excellent advice. We'd love to come back.

We actually really enjoy going to Basta: delicious pizza, delicious wine, and a generally friendly staff. However, our last few visits have been challenging: It's understandable that service slows down a bit when, for example, several guests arrive at the same time. But when you have to ask for the wine list five times, the food is already on the table, but no one has a drink, and guests at neighboring tables who arrived at the same time are almost ready to pay, something's not right. My friendly inquiries were snippily dismissed with a comment about the number of visitors, and new guests were welcomed. If this were an isolated incident, I'd forget about it. However, the last three visits in June and July have been like this. That's a shame, and somehow no one dares to reserve a table there anymore. (I strongly recommend making online reservations here. You can tell by phone that calling isn't welcome.)

Both the wine and pizza at Basta were delicious. I'd gladly pay for them again. At the beginning (Friday, 6 p.m.), we were lucky: Our orders were taken quickly, and we didn't have to wait long for the food either. However, as the number of guests grew, the waiters seemed very overwhelmed. We waited about 45 minutes for our bill and asked for it three times. A neighboring table waited almost an hour. We fully understand that it's busy today with a staff shortage – nevertheless, this (overall) poor organization dampened our previously good experience. A waitress also pointed out beforehand that we shouldn't just take chairs from the neighboring table, as all seats are counted and reserved. Understandable, of course. However, we experienced another instance of poor organization here: there were three of us (we had made a reservation!) and we were seated at a table where it would have been impossible for the three of us to eat comfortably. (We sat at a round table: I sat on a chair, while my two companions had to squeeze onto the couch.) Luckily, we were already finished when the waitress took the chair away from us. We'd come back anytime for the food - but not for the service. And if we did, it would only be on empty days or at (presumably) empty times.

Rustic charm and delicious pizzas combined with a high level of expertise when it comes to wine and spirits are what attracts Basta. The dining room is very minimalist in design and it quickly becomes very noisy. The service is top-notch, and the food even more so, so we recommend it to others and will of course be happy to return.

Unfortunately, despite the really good pizzas, it's no longer worth visiting due to a substandard service concept. Self-service and €18 pizza just don't mix. It's a shame...

This was my first time at Basta and I'm really impressed. The menu isn't overly extensive; we had the ciabatta with dips and a super-delicious authentic pizza. The wine spritzer was also absolutely reasonable in price. We'd love to come back! Since it was quite busy even during the week, I recommend making a reservation.

A very good location, and my female companions also rated the pizza as good. So much for the positives. I arrived at 6:32 p.m. and waited in the self-service line (nice in the blazing sun) until 7:26 p.m. to order food and drinks. At the counter, I was told that they only served non-alcoholic beer today. A subtle hint that proper beer was on the menu and, of course, in the cooler was consistently blocked with the comment: "That's the order." The three women finished their pizza and three wine spritzers, and I lost my appetite. So we moved on to another restaurant.

We had to remind them twice to order our drinks because they had forgotten about us. It wasn't great that the delicious Buckauer Schwarzbier was already six weeks past its expiration date. There was no apology or price reduction.

The staff at reception were very friendly, but we never saw them again...😅 We had already finished our drinks before our food arrived. Even 45 minutes after we'd finished eating, we still hadn't been served again.

The staff isn't open to criticism regarding the store. They're fobbed off with a cheap price, telling you to contact the leasing department, as they're responsible for the order and cleanliness of the premises. If you ask when you can speak to the management, you're asked to leave.

Wood-fired pizza, no need to say... Enjoy it on the terrace when the weather's nice. Always a good recommendation for wine...

Were here for the first time, although we used to live right next door for 5 years. Service team very friendly and helpful, pizzas very tasty, prices still okay. Beer and wine were great, we felt comfortable both inside and outside. Payment was a bit confusing, but okay, it happened.

Simply great, great service even if it was a bit busy. The best pizza I've eaten. You can't see it from the outside when you go through the back. Then you go in and then you get the wow effect of how great the old workshop has become.

We had reserved as a group and had the PizzaFly offer. The pizzas should keep coming until everyone is full. It cost 20 euros per person. However, as a group we were pretty disappointed. Firstly, despite making a reservation at 6 p.m., it took an incredibly long time until we got something to eat. Then after the first round there was another break of over 1.5 hours. Even though each of us has only had one slice of pizza. After numerous complaints, the food finally arrived. At 9 p.m. we were finally full. The pizzas themselves were fine. Maybe a little too greasy and with too big a pizza crust for me personally. But overall acceptable. The cocktails had more ice cubes than the contents. Overall, the store was pretty busy, despite it being a weekday. Nevertheless, there were only 3 service staff who obviously couldn't keep up. They were really friendly but clearly overwhelmed. The chefs kept smoking outside even though the place was full and everyone was waiting for the food. Overall, we were dissatisfied with the service and would no longer visit the store as a group.

First of all. The two service staff who were there really gave it their all, but they really had no chance. The restaurant was extremely busy and they did what they could to accommodate the crowd. As a result, we as a group waited 1 1/2 hours for the first 3 pizzas from our Pizzafly (there were 14 of us) and then another 30 minutes for the next 3 pizzas. This is really annoying, especially when you have small children with you. This was a clear management error and unfortunately ruined the overall impression. So the star deduction doesn't go to the lovely girls who work there, but to their boss. The pizzas were pretty good again. The ambience is very geared towards the target group. You just have to like alternative chic as an expression of your own need for recognition. All in all, you can certainly go there if you don't feel like cooking in the evening and live nearby. But it's not for an occasion/event.

An absolute recommendation, I was just passing through and pre-ordered here to pick it up, but the atmosphere in the store is an absolute dream and, above all, the employees are simply wonderful. Bei dem Versuch Online zu bestellen, kam der Hinweis, dass derzeit keine Online-Bestellungen entgegen genommen werden. Absolutes No-Go !!! Kein Essen bekommen. Und wir werden in Zukunft unser Essen anderweitig bestellen!

A lovely, harmonious atmosphere for a relaxed get-together, a lovely outdoor area, a tucked-away location, friendly service, and delicious food and drinks. A great place to spend a pleasant evening with friends.

Unfortunately this was our first time at Basta! Surprisingly different, stylish but still pure. Pizza the best in a long time, great service, young spirit, and a delicious wine. We felt very comfortable and have already reserved again.

The shop is somewhat hidden, but still very busy. The selection isn't huge, which makes the decision a little easier 😊. The food was incredibly delicious, though not exactly cheap. The only downside was that the outdoor seating wasn't particularly suitable or comfortable. The tables were far too low for eating, or the chests were too high. The chairs were rather uncomfortable and wobbly on the gravel area. This is due to the construction site next door, so it will definitely be fixed sooner or later.

There needs to be more shops like this in Magdeburg - delicious food, good wine, extremely friendly staff (although on a Friday evening another service person wouldn't hurt to provide some relief). The outside area looks inviting, I'm excited for summer!

My partner and I spent our anniversary at Basta - our first time at this restaurant. We can't say anything about the wine as we both hardly drink alcohol, but the pizza was by far the best we've ever eaten! An absolute highlight and definitely a reason to come back. Be sure to reserve in advance as it was very busy when we were there. Unfortunately we only got a seat at a cable drum, which was quite uncomfortable for my partner due to his long legs. This place is more suitable for smaller people. There were also nails sticking out slightly from the cable drum and his sweater caught on him, creating a hole. We pointed this out to the waitress when we were paying, but she didn't really seem to care. Maybe it was just too loud so she didn't understand it properly - but she didn't ask either. Unfortunately, that was annoying and spoiled the evening a little. Nevertheless: The excellent pizza makes up for a lot, and we would definitely give Basta another chance in the future - we just don't want to sit at the cable drum anymore.

We reserved a table 4 days in advance and everything was displayed freely on TheFork. You won't even get a cancellation 24 hours before the appointment.

I was skeptical at first, but the staff and the food convinced me. Friendly staff, a good cook in the kitchen and delicious food. ❤️ I was brave and ordered a Christmas pizza (Pizza Rustica d’Antra) with duck, kale and pear. It tasted very good and everyone enjoyed the other pizzas too. As a starter we ordered the ciabatta with dips, which was also very, very tasty and different from what we usually eat. Highly recommended, we will definitely come again with friends and children in the summer 🙂 Only the chairs didn't really appeal to me, but they can be repaired later 😉

I really enjoy going to Basta. Very friendly and motivated staff. I also really like the ambience. What I've noticed negatively one or two times is that the pizza is often delivered incorrectly. It doesn't matter whether I have ordered one to pick up or am there. My wishes to leave out certain ingredients are almost never taken into account. It's a shame, otherwise great!

Really good wines, the pizza is exceptionally good and all the other food I ate was really very good. The atmosphere in the former workshop is more than cozy and in the cold months you can warm yourself by the workshop stove. I really enjoy being here every time

We were there in a group of 20 people. The table was beautifully set when we arrived. The pizza from Pizzafly was very tasty, although the edges were often coal-black. In the end, you have to consider whether the 20 euros for the fly is cheaper than simply ordering a few pizzas regularly. What we didn't like at all was the service. In fact, it took 90 minutes for the first drink. The waiter didn't come particularly often to take on new drink requests. We were really very disappointed. You feel a bit like you're at a marketing students' shared apartment party in Mitte: You have to go three times around the corner through creepy dark alleys and parking lots, then: Very crowded, very loud, sometimes construction noise, very hip and circling because you are simply THE shop, delicious pizzas, good wine too, unfortunately no wine list (or they couldn't be found): Please people, get organized! "We sat you down at a table with great people" doesn't have to be the case (reservation a week in advance), the great people had the same opinion! The pallet furniture that is too small wobbles and splinters. And if the snobby, fussy service staff doesn't know what can be ordered (yes, this special pizza bread is still available, but it's no longer on the menu) then you're better off going back to the veteran Italian restaurant. Less strenuous: that’s it!

5 stars, BUT, and this is a big fat BUT! I ordered a bottle of wine and it was like they store it next to the pizza oven. 32€ wine bottle should be kept in a wine freezer. Chairs are very uncomfortable. I hope this review helps the owners. The pizza is amazing.

Anyone who loves wine will feel at home here. The selection of wine is simply huge. Regional beer is also offered. On my last visit I ordered a pizza. This is easy to do by ordering via QR code. Payment is made via the app. Basta also offers various themed evenings such as “Best Leftovers”. The location is something very special.

It was just a stupid experience. My friends made it quite nice but that was it. Waited for 2 hours in total for the food (Friday evening I understand that it takes longer but I still don't see it). Wine was good but completely overpriced: we had a wine that would otherwise cost €9 in retail and €25 there!!! Also this: Completely understandable that it is a little more expensive but a whole €16 more expensive??? I DON'T SEE IT! The edge of the pizza was burnt but the parts that weren't charred were quite tasty.. in short: for 2 hours of waiting I would have still wished for more.. do something better with your money

There is a great atmosphere in “Basta”. On Mondays there is a DJ to set the mood and there is live music. The food portions are large, but the prices are rather high. The wine is very tasty, there is a large selection. 1 star deduction for the service because you have to queue for drinks, when it's full there are big queues.

Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated extremely on our last visits. People are friendly, no question about it. But sometimes drinks are forgotten, no one comes to the table for a long time so that you can order new drinks and food, the starter is forgotten or is often served at the same time as the main course. Yesterday there was also a dirty wine glass. As delicious as the food and wine are there, if the service doesn't work, it won't make up for it at some point. Apart from that, the ambience was really nice, but unfortunately the seating, especially outside, was extremely uncomfortable.

That was nothing. In my opinion, you want to portray something that you are not. It's apparently supposed to be an upscale, trendy bar, but there's simply nothing behind it. The facility is cheap, the menu is a joke. The selection is poor, but they don't show off Italian terms on the menu, but they don't even serve a medium-class pizza. The soil is ok at the edge. In the middle it simply doesn't exist, pure mud. But at least expensive🤣🤷🏼‍♂️. I feel really ripped off. Above all, I can't understand how a store like this gets such a rating.... At least the service was very friendly. Big praise for that.

The pizzas were a disgrace for €18.50. The bottom was soggy in the middle and flat in taste. The service either hid or forgot half of it or brought it wrong. The dry rosé was absolutely top and the chocolate rum as a digestive was world class. Regarding the ambience, I would like to say that the seating was uncomfortable for me. I'm almost 2 m tall and strong, so folding chairs are anathema to me. With 6 people for 300€ I just expect more.

It was very tasty and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Respect how you have the entire store under control with 2 main waiters. As already described in other reviews, the waiting times are unfortunately far too long. We waited over an hour for our pizza. Maybe a few fewer tables would solve the problem if the restaurant can't handle the entire capacity of orders. Therefore a star deduction.
