BAR'ROMA in Kaufungen

Eigentlich wollten wir nur nicht an der Autobahn zu Abend essen… doch unsere Google Recherche hat uns zu diesem kleinen Juwel geführt! Kleine Karte mit ausgewählten Produkten zu gehobenen, aber angemessenen Preisen. Zufällig war auch gerade ein toller Musiker da, der uns quasi ein Privatkonzert gegeben hat. Das Essen hat einen Moment gedauert, da der Besitzer alles selber macht (Service, Bar und Küche), doch da haben wir in anderen Lokalen schon deutlich längere Wartezeiten erlebt. Wir kommen, wenn wir in der Nähe sein sollten, gerne wieder! Danke an Maik :)

Es war ein sehr durchwachsenes Erlebnis. Positiv hervorzuheben sind das gute Essen und die Getränke. Der Kaffee ist sogar unglaublich gut, und der Inhaber und einzige Angestellte, Maik, gibt sich alle Mühe. Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert, aber als typische Touristen haben wir uns verfahren und konnten das kleine Restaurant anschließend nicht mehr finden, obwohl wir unzählige Male daran vorbeigefahren sind. Es liegt etwas versteckt, aber wenn man danach sucht: Es befindet sich neben einem kleinen asiatischen Restaurant. Da wir merkten, dass wir zu spät kommen würden, versuchten wir drei oder vier Mal anzurufen. Niemand ging ran; später wurde uns gesagt, dass Maik gesehen hatte, dass es eine ausländische Nummer war. Beim Betreten des Restaurants erlebten wir eine unangenehme Situation; Maik war sichtlich unzufrieden, und das nur, weil wir zu spät waren. Ich selbst habe jahrelang in der Gastronomie gearbeitet, oft allein als Koch und Kellner, und es wäre mir nie in den Sinn gekommen, Gäste so zu „begrüßen“. Nachdem wir Platz genommen hatten, hatten wir zunächst das Gefühl, ignoriert zu werden. Aber die Kinder waren hungrig und es wurde immer später, also beschlossen wir zu bleiben. Dann bestellten wir Essen und Getränke, und Maik schien schon etwas besser gelaunt zu sein. Die Antipasti kamen und waren sehr lecker und harmonierten perfekt; die Getränke waren in Ordnung. Kurz gesagt, wir hatten nichts zu beanstanden. Nur die Musik war unerträglich laut. Schöne Indie-Folk-Musik, die wir oft mit Shazam mitgehört haben, aber wirklich extrem laut. Wir saßen dort mit zwei autistischen Kindern an einem Tisch, und trotz ihrer geräuschdämpfenden Kopfhörer merkten wir, dass es ihnen zunehmend schwerfiel. Auch uns war es zeitweise sehr ohrenbetäubend. Die Kinder benahmen sich trotz allem weiterhin gut, aber mein Mann wagte es zu fragen, ob es etwas leiser sein könnte. Darauf wurde ein knappes Nein geantwortet, denn, so hieß es, es sei dort immer so. Ich persönlich finde, man kann durchaus Rücksicht auf andere nehmen, insbesondere auf Menschen mit besonderen Bedürfnissen, aber die Art und Weise, wie dies geschah, empfand ich als sehr ungeschickt, unfreundlich und unprofessionell. Nochmal, in meiner Zeit in der Gastronomie hätte ich das nie so gemacht. Die Pizzen waren gut, der Teig sehr lecker. Da ich Maiks Arbeit allein sehr geschätzt habe, auch wenn alles etwas länger dauerte als üblich, habe ich ihm Trinkgeld gegeben. Sollten wir aber jemals wieder in der Nähe von Kassel sein, werden wir uns definitiv eine andere Pizzeria suchen. Ich denke, das wäre für uns alle besser. :-)

Wow! Wir sind durch eine Empfehlung hierher gekommen. Ich habe fast ein bisschen Angst, überhaupt eine Bewertung zu schreiben …nachher ist dieser Geheimtipp keiner mehr und wir bekommen selbst keinen Tisch mehr. 😂 Aber Maik zuliebe bekommt das Restaurant natürlich eine Bewertung. Wir waren heute bei Maik und sind vollkommen geflasht von diesem tollen Besuch. Wir hatten sofort das Gefühl willkommen zu sein und haben uns wie Zuhause gefühlt. Die Pizza war mega und das beschreibt es nicht mal ansatzweise. Das ganze Ambiente, das Essen und auch der Service sind etwas ganz besonderes. Soooo...endlich haben wir es mal hierher geschafft und natürlich gibt es auch sofort eine Bewertung. Es war supergemütlich und das Essen war köstlich und von hoher Qualität. Die beste Pizza aus ganz Italien! 🍕🍸 Der Inhaber legt Wert auf Qualität, die Atmosphäre ist super, er ist total freundlich und leidenschaftlich. Das merkt man nicht nur am Essen, sondern auch am Ambiente des Restaurants. Unglaublich? Überzeug dich selbst! 😁 Wir haben diesen Ort von unserem Hotel empfohlen bekommen und können ihn jetzt auch euch wärmstens empfehlen. ❤️

Das ist die Benchmark für Pizza. Auf jeden Fall den Preis wert. Mit freundlichem und zuvorkommendem Service werden die Gäste verwöhnt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Bereits zweimal hatte ich mit meiner Frau das Vergnügen, hier hervorragendes Essen und grandiose Weine genießen zu dürfen. Vorlieben von Gästen, z.B. bezüglich der Weinvorlieben oder Cocktailzutaten, können besprochen und berücksichtigt werden. Die Preise sind gehoben, jedoch aus unserer Sicht angemessen und gerechtfertigt. Unsere drei Höhepunkte: + Vielschichtigkeit der Weinkarte + Mut zu "unkonventionellen" Kombinationen (z.B. Gorgonzola mit Spargel statt des sonst allseits bekannten Spinats) + (Mut zu) Signature-Cocktails!

Das Essen war super lecker und man merkt sofort, dass hier mit viel Leidenschaft gekocht wird. Besonders erwähnenswert ist, dass der Inhaber alles in Eigenregie bewerkstelligt: alles selbst zubereitet und persönlich serviert – dadurch entsteht eine unglaublich herzliche und persönliche Atmosphäre. Das Restaurant ist zwar eher klein, aber genau das macht den besonderen Charme aus: gemütlich, familiär und absolut einladend. Der Inhaber (Maik) ist unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und sorgt dafür, dass man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Wer gutes, frisch zubereitetes Essen und echten persönlichen Service schätzt, ist hier genau richtig. Absolute Empfehlung – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

UPDATE 04/2026: ich war wieder geschäftlich in der Nähe und an einem Mittwoch Abend in Maiks Bar. Es hat sich nichts verändert - zum Glück: Maik ist weiterhin eine One-Man-Show mit sehr angenehmen Service, tollen Getränken und fantastischem Essen. Komme sehr gerne wieder. 07/2025: Ich war an einem Montag Abend dort - zuerst "abgeschreckt" wegen der extrem guten Bewertungen. Bin dann aber doch hin, da die Speisekarte klein aber fein war und es ital. Biere auf der Karte gab - klang interessant. Maik ist ein sehr höflicher, aufmerksamer Gastgeber. Das Essen (hatte Salat und Pizza) super frisch und sehr, sehr lecker. Klare Empfehlung!

Wir waren mit einer größeren Freundesgruppe dort. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und die Atmosphäre war einladend und gemütlich. Der Inhaber ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber und weiß was gut ist. Gestern waren wir mal wieder in Maiks Bar Zum Glück oder leider ist eine Reservierung am Wochenende unbedingt nötig und kurzfristig , durch die gute Belegung schwierig. Also kein Geheimtipp mehr, aber immer zu empfehlen! Eine angenehme Atmosphäre Schon beim betreten. Sehr freundlicher Empfang , eine liebevoll Geschriebene Speise und Getränkekarte , die auch aktualisiert werden. Sehr schöne Weine, auch gute Bierauswahl (Flaschenbiere), sehr gute Espresso Sorte. Die Vorspeisen sehr lecker und lassen noch Platz für den Hauptgang …. Für mich eine der besten Pizzen , wobei auch die Pastavarianten zum Wiederkommen abholen. Sorry und die Nachspeisenauswahl echt gut , klein aber fein ! Ich kann nach dem gestrigen Abend , der nicht der erste war nur positiv berichten. Ich war mit einer Freundin da, durch eine Empfehlung. Man wird super warm und herzlich empfangen. Das Ambiente ist so unglaublich gemütlich, stylisch und man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Das Essen ist der Wahnsinn und wir kommen definitiv wieder und können es jedem empfehlen der auf leckeres, wirklich selbstgemachtes Essen steht und es auch genießen möchte.

Ich war heute zum dritten Mal in diesem wundervollen kleinen Restaurant und es wird definitiv nicht der letzte Besuch gewesen sein. Es ist so unfassbar gemütlich, die Begrüßung immer herzlich und alles ist mit so viel Liebe gemacht. Die hergerichteten Tische, die ganze Atmosphäre stimmt einfach. Man kommt runter und kann in aller Ruhe das köstliche Essen genießen, egal ob die super leckere Vorspeise, der Hauptgang oder das Dessert, welches heut auf keinen Fall mehr gepasst hätte. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl und wie meine Freundin heute sagte, es ist als wenn man sich schon ewig kennt. Hut ab an Maik, deine Gastfreundschaft ist einmalig und wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Weiter so!

Ein schöner Abend mit sehr leckeren Essen und leckeren Cocktails in einem Ambiente, was zum wohlfühlen einlädt. Die Tischreservierung lief unkompliziert über WhatsApp und der Gastgeber war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Wir sind durch Zufall über Google maps auf das Lokal gestoßen, kommen aber ganz sicher wieder.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend mit gutem Wein und ganz tollem Essen. Man merkt sofort die gute Qualität der Zutaten und die Liebe für gutes Essen. Preis - Leistung finde ich absolut in Ordnung für die gute Qualität. Wir haben noch viel über die richtige Teigführung für Pizza und Brot gelernt. Ich war selber sehr lange in der Gastronomie tätig und gestern war ich zum ersten Mal tief beeindruckt von einem Gastronom. In der kleinen Bar steckt so viel Liebe zum Detail das man nicht vermuten würde das Maik dieses Goldstück tatsächlich ganz allein betreibt. Wir haben die Bar Roma durch einen Gutschein von Kollegen entdeckt und konnten ganz unkompliziert per WhatsApp einen Tisch reservieren – super angenehm! Über das Konzept wussten wir vorher gar nicht so viel und waren dann umso mehr begeistert. Maiks liebenswertes, durchdachtes Konzept und die herzliche Atmosphäre haben uns sofort abgeholt. After my third visit to Maik's, I finally have to leave a review. I find this place so special. An absolute gem where you immediately feel like a guest. The owner does everything personally, which I find truly impressive, giving the impression that you're visiting friends who are cooking for you. Totally warm, cozy, and delicious. Sure, the prices are a bit higher, but I think they're justified, and the cocktails are also very tasty. Highly recommended. I would suggest making a reservation, as there are only a few seats. This was our second visit to Maik's Bar 😊 And it was another wonderful evening. We were greeted personally by name on a small chalkboard at our table – a small gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. There were also little chocolate hearts at each place setting. In general, Bar Roma pays incredible attention to the little details that make the evening special. The ingredients are regional and fresh, and you can taste the passion that goes into cooking and mixing. What's particularly impressive is that Maik is a one-man show and does absolutely everything himself – kitchen and bar! This can sometimes mean a little longer wait times, but it also gives you plenty of time to fully enjoy the evening. Thank you for the lovely evening. We'll be back – we promise!

We were there yesterday and felt right at home. Clearly, the motto is small but perfectly formed, with plenty of charm, an eye for detail, and a clear message: enjoyment in a relaxed atmosphere. We spent the whole evening there, and the place became a cozy place, like our own living room with friends, which also includes the friendly owner and his support. Simply a great bar with the focus on slowing down and doing good with great drinks and authentic, flavorful food. In our opinion, it's simply a successful and pleasant place. We'd love to come back 👋🏻

I was here today for the Open Stage event—it's great that this is possible here and that a space has been created for musicians. Since musicians aren't among the high earners, a beer for €6 is quite expensive.

Everything was top-notch👍 A small restaurant with a stylish and cozy atmosphere. From the first to the last minute of our evening, we experienced a pleasant, attentive, and warm owner who left nothing to be desired. We highly recommend it! With its small but fine menu, this restaurant offers delicious upscale Italian cuisine, fantastic cocktails, and plenty of homemade treats. A true asset to Kaufungen👍 We're already looking forward to our next visit 😄

A small Italian restaurant in the upscale price range. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is as authentic as possible, with portions that make it easy to pair with an appetizer or dessert. The ambiance is reminiscent of a bar with tables. Cocktails seem to be a passion of the owners. Unfortunately, it was a bit too loud for a pleasant conversation. Reservations are recommended.

We were here for the first time yesterday. Such a wonderful experience. A lot of heart and soul goes into this place. Thank you for letting us share in your philosophy of life and cooking. The food was perfect. Honest, authentic, delicious, and the red wine...very, very delicious. You can feel Maik's passion and enjoyment, who wants to pamper his guests to the highest standards. We will definitely be back, even if the journey is a little further for us. But it's absolutely worth it. You can immediately feel how much love and passion has gone into this place. Totally cozy, with a super personal atmosphere – and the owner is simply fantastic. He took his time, explained everything to us, told us how he cooks, tossed the guanciale in the pan with tweezers, and even showed us a raw piece. You can tell: He lives for good food! Everything is prepared with great care and high-quality ingredients – true Italian craftsmanship. It's difficult to recommend a specific dish, because according to the owner, all of his dishes are special – and you'll believe him immediately. If you love Italian food, you should definitely stop by here. Highly recommended!

A wonderful little restaurant with excellent service, great ambience, and outstanding food.

We went there with several friends, and we were all thrilled. The food took a while and wasn't cheap, but it was excellent, the service was first-class, and the atmosphere in the dining room was pleasant. If you want to have a good time, this is the place. Unfortunately, I have to deduct one 🌟 because of the toilet. In short: the price-performance ratio is good, and we'll be back.

A lovingly run restaurant in Kaufungen. We also celebrated our wedding anniversary there. It was simply perfect. The antipasti were wonderfully fresh and varied, and the main courses were absolutely delicious. A big thank you to Maik – as always, very friendly, attentive, and with a lot of heart.

My best friend and I spontaneously decided to go to "BAR ROMA." A quick WhatsApp message was enough, and he did everything he could to get us a table. The welcome was incredibly warm! There was even a little handwritten "Welcome" sign 🫶🏼! The lovingly written menu, with its obviously varied dishes, immediately captivates: its individuality and the careful selection of dishes and drinks (including wine recommendations). Fantastic place. The owner has really thought of everything, from the atmosphere in the restaurant, wine glasses, fresh flowers and chairs where you can Be able to relax and enjoy the delicious food. It is only run by himself and the food was fresh and well prepared. He was there for his customers too. The first time we have been asked how we wanted the strength of our spaghetti alio oil. A wonderful Italian restaurant! Considering Maik runs it all himself (service, cooking, drinks), everything was perfect! The bar has a lovely ambiance, the food was delicious, and the wine selection is also excellent. We had a wonderful evening here and are already looking forward to our next visit!

The owner reopened at the beginning of December 2024 after a complete renovation. A very tasteful ambiance, pleasant lighting, and a manageable number of comfortable seats invite you to visit. In addition to a good selection of wines and spirits, there is also Italian beer. The menu includes various antipasti, pasta, and pizza.

Our first time at BAR'ROMA – and we immediately lost our hearts. We actually just wanted to have a relaxed meal. But what we found at BAR'ROMA in Kaufungen was much more: Warmth, truly good food – and that special atmosphere that you can't plan, but simply feel. Owner Maik lives his shop with such passion that you immediately feel at home. A truly incredible experience and indescribably good food. You do have to wait a while for the food, but this is clearly communicated. We were at a tournament nearby and ate there every night because we couldn't get enough. Every dish was prepared with so much love and at a very fair price!

From the outside, Bar Roma may seem unassuming, but stepping through the door reveals a lovingly designed atmosphere that immediately feels inviting. Maik, the warm host, greets everyone personally and makes you feel at home right away. The tables are tastefully set, emphasizing the bar's cozy character. Four of us went there for pizza, and we were all impressed by the excellent quality of the pizzas and drinks. Maik, who prepares everything himself, has a remarkable flair for the art of pizza making. He enjoys explaining how the pizza dough of the day turned out and which ingredients were used. I would particularly like to highlight the option of ordering pinsa or non-alcoholic aperitifs upon request – a delicious change that we wouldn't want to miss. Overall, Bar Roma is a true asset to Kaufungen. Here you'll find not only delicious food, but also a cozy atmosphere and second-to-none service. I highly recommend a visit!

Bar Roma is something special. It's not exactly cheap, but the dishes aren't run-of-the-mill either. Everything is fresh, exceptional, and delicious. It's a one-man show. The owner is both a chef (a very good one) and a waiter. Confident, relaxed, and very friendly—unusual, too. The seating is very comfortable in a relaxed atmosphere with great food and good wine. Definitely recommended; we'd be happy to come back.

Today we visited Maik's "Living Room" Bar'Roma for the first time. What can I say, the cover of the card alone describes what you get there. Very tasty food, very good service, Very large selection of drinks.

The innkeeper does everything himself, and as you experience it as a guest, that is a huge achievement. Relaxed, cheerful, unobtrusive when working, and he makes such good food!! I haven't eaten such good pizza anywhere near here!! Also the other things we ate, each dish absolutely special in itself, you can tell that he wants to get the best out of the ingredients!! I'm thrilled!!

We were guests in Maik's living room as a couple with a dog and we were thrilled from the first minute! We ate, drank and chatted here individually, calmly and professionally in an absolutely feel-good atmosphere. Absolute heart recommendation. We went to Bar Roma for the first time yesterday and can only warmly recommend it. We were absolutely satisfied, both with the service and the food. Extreme attention is also paid to pregnant women with information about food (what can be eaten, what cannot, etc.). We will definitely come back and recommend the restaurant wholeheartedly! Wow. That's most accurate. Arrived and the store was full, luckily reserved. Small, manageable and very cozy. Feeling good is probably the motto. This is how you imagine the small trattorias in Italy. Best selection of drinks. Looking over the menu in advance, I knew I had to try both pasta and pizza. So first the very nice and attentive waitress made me smile and ordered 2 dishes. Me, that's 163cm and 62kg. But what must that must? The look at the neighboring plates revealed that we would be rewarded. Everything is freshly prepared and therefore takes time, but we wanted to eat and not escape. So, everything is good. To cut the whole thing short...both my carbonara and the pizza with truffle pesto and ham were terrific! A real Italian must have made it, far from it!!! The good host has nothing to do with Italian cuisine, not even a trained chef. Everything was self-taught, as I found out later when I asked. He simply took the step into self-employment and I think it would have been a shame if he hadn't done it. It was our first time there but definitely not the last time. I have rarely experienced anything so hospitable and attentive. My friend who was eating with us is pregnant and with every course she was asked whether the meal was for her, for example because of the fresh ice cream or the alcohol in the dessert. That's what I call neat! Thank you for this lovely, enjoyable evening. We wish you much success and that the risk is worth it for you. But I'm sure you have an awesome path ahead of you! BAR'ROMA is a small but very fine restaurant. The owner, Maik, is very friendly, and you can tell he puts his heart and soul into his restaurant. All his food is fresh and prepared with love; definitely not mass-produced or ready-made. Whether for a date, a couple's dinner, or a small group dinner, BAR'ROMA is highly recommended.

We spent the evening with Maik with our group of girls. We were all able to sit together and had enough space. The food was simply a 10 out of 10. You can just taste the passion behind it all. We give it 5 stars because we had a great time at Bar Roma. The food is highly recommended, also dessert, cafe/cappuccino. We can't say anything about the wines because we didn't drink any 😊. We were in the bar after work last summer. And now, after the reopening, FINALLY again. Apart from Maik, who is super welcoming and put so much love into every detail, we had the most delicious drinks (espresso martini and other cocktails) and such delicious food (pasta and pizza). Every extra request was taken into account and there were no long waiting times, despite the store being full. Super nice, warm living room feeling with fresh flowers. You can tell how much love there is in it. Everyone should see for themselves. We will now be moving our girls' night there on a regular basis! Thank you for the lovely evening!
