Barcelona Tapas Bar Restaurant in Berlin

We really liked it. Food was great. My entrecote was medium rare as requested with lovely grilled aromas. Sangria was freshly made with lots of fruits. The brandy in a cognac snifter with a hot glass of water underneath is a great idea. Stuffed turkey breast also very good. I've had much better café solos, but no points were deducted for that. Gladly again.

We went for dinner yesterday with 3 people... A very relaxed place, with a super pleasant atmosphere. Super happy and efficient staff.... A super fun place. High level of hygiene. Food...... Well, the food is something we had never experienced before. Absolutely divine...super well prepared, tasty, in good quantity and above all, it is the kind of food that makes us come back to this place time and time again. I think the price is appropriate for the quality of everything I mentioned before... I highly recommend that you visit this place.....

Loved the food and ambience here and would definitely return! We have the salmon dinner and chicken salad with patata bravas as an appetizer. Everything was well seasoned and cooked well. We didn’t order anything drinks just water and our total was €50. The staff seemed to be having a good and that reflected in their service

Nice tapas bar right at Checkpoint Charlie. There were ten of us and we were served relatively quickly, the service was friendly, one person only spoke Spanish, which sometimes made it more difficult to ask questions. I personally didn't find the Creme Catalana perfect, but it's certainly a matter of taste. The aioli, on the other hand, was perfect, but here too the bread could have been a little more unusual/homemade. All in all, a good tapas shop on Friedrichstrasse at Checkpoint Charlie.

No me gusta dar críticas negativas, ya que también llevo un negocio y sé lo difícil que puede ser y cómo una experiencia a menudo no es la norma para el negocio, sin embargo, nuestra experiencia de tapas de Barcelona no fue buena. Nuestra empresa celebró 10 años en el negocio y organizó un viaje a Berlín a modo de celebración basado en las reseñas que reservamos tapas de Barcelona para el viernes por la noche en su menú grupal. En primer lugar los aspectos positivos de la comida era muy bueno y el personal, aunque completamente inundado estaban realmente haciendo todo lo posible, pero sin duda durante las primeras dos horas no había ni cerca suficiente comida o suficiente personal para distribuirlo. Sí entiendo que mejoró ligeramente más tarde en la noche, pero me fui después de dos horas cuando cuatro patas de pollo se llevaron a una mesa de doce después de haber dividido ya las albóndigas en cuatro para que la mayor cantidad posible de personas pudieran comer. Estoy seguro de que con grupos más pequeños la experiencia fue mejor, pero creo que realmente no deberían haber confirmado una reserva que no pudieron cumplir. Me detuve a revisar hasta que habíamos experimentado otros restaurantes en Berlín a modo de contraste y nuestra experiencia del sábado por la noche fue perfecta, más rápida , un poco más barata y no necesitaba comprar una hamburguesa de camino a casa ! !

Went for dinner two weekends in a row in October. Food tastes excellent with good price and performance ratio. What I particularly liked is that you can get dinner quite late (around 10 p.m.). One star deducted for the service. Both paint with little enthusiasm and are not courteous. The second time we were a large group and it was a bit chaotic. Overall, however, we had a lovely evening there!

Despite a reservation we got a cramped and bad table. The service wasn't particularly friendly and we had to wait an hour for the food, which didn't even arrive correctly. Unfortunately not that great as I would have expected more for the price. But the food itself tasted good.

We were excited about this restaurant because of the reviews. We wanted to change up our experience. So we made a reservation online and showed up a few minutes before. When we walked into the empty restaurant, we were asked if we had a reservation we said yes and then met with annoyance. Only 1 other party came in during the 1.5 hrs we were there. The food and dessert was so so. The food was not anything spectacular. The creme brulee was split and the top was burned. Not really worth the cost. The sangria came with ice. We took the Ubahn which was convenient.

Compared to other Berlin restaurants, the service was not so friendly but rather more reserved. An order was not recorded correctly. The request for a card recommendation was not responded to. Maybe due to a language barrier? All in all, a nice tapas bar, but nothing extraordinary. Thank you.

This Spanish restaurant is located right in the tourist center of Berlin and impresses with its wide range of tapas. There are few seats outside, but there is a large indoor area that can also accommodate larger groups. In my opinion, the card leaves little to be desired. The drinks menu also impresses with a large selection of cocktails and their non-alcoholic versions. Considering the location of the location, the prices are more than fair and the price-performance ratio is definitely right. However, the service leaves something to be desired. I have already experienced several times that at the beginning of the visit the employees come to the place much more often and ask about their personal well-being. Once you have eaten your meal, it seems as if no one feels responsible for the individual well-being of the guests anymore. All in all, a location that you can definitely visit when visiting Checkpoint Charlie. However, I would recommend other tapas restaurants in less central locations to Berliners.

DANGER! DANGER! We should have paid attention when we were told there were no pickled anchovies. You can't freeze them. We couldn't make paella any worse. If you ask for vinegar for the micro salad, you will be given a ready-made vinaigrette. The waiter walks in street shoes on the benches to replace the candles on the wall. But the kicker is: Diarrhea after paella!!! And all 3 people. Because all three of us only ate the paella.

We were in the mood for tapas and chose this restaurant. The reservation went online without any problems. We were there at 7:30 p.m. and ordered drinks immediately. They came quickly and so did our food. The tapas were freshly prepared and everything tasted great. My highlight were the chipirones, we had to order another portion of them! Very nice service and nice atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

We were there with a larger group and waited over 2 hours for the food. When we left the restaurant after three hours, two people from the group still hadn't eaten. Drinks came after about 45 minutes. Chaos and errors in billing. Food tastes good, but the staff is nice but unfortunately totally overwhelmed. Unfortunately not recommended.

La comida que era comestible estaba bien, pero el servicio no era lo suficientemente bueno. Una bienvenida desinteresada. Servicio lento y cuando una de las croquetas estaba completamente incomible la camarera simplemente se encogió de hombros y se llevó el plato. No te preocupes ni te disculpes. La decisión de salir lo antes posible fue bastante fácil. No recomendaría esto si quieres sentirte como un cliente y no un inconveniente.

Siamo stati in questo ristorante con la famiglia. Nel menù esposto fuori dal locale era presente anche un menù per bambini, ma poi, una volta seduti al tavolo, ci è stato detto che non lo avevano. Abbiamo mangiato abbastanza bene, anche se i prezzi sono abbastanza alti. Sia nel menù esposto fuori che in quello che ci hanno dato dentro non era presente l'acqua. Abbiamo preso 3 bottiglie di acqua da 0,75 e ce le hanno fatte pagare 6,90 € l'una (20,70 € totali). Quando ho chiesto spiegazioni mi hanno riso in faccia dicendo che l'acqua veniva dalla Spagna. La birra invece era a 3,80 € e anche quella veniva dalla Spagna. Siamo stati purtroppo trattati come turisti da spennare... Non lo consiglio e non ci tornerò.

The food was good, but they only list half of the price on the menu and then charge you twice at checkout. My partner and I had the paella and croquettes, which said 19.5€ and ~6€ on the menu, and three beers, however we left with a 60€ bill. To clarify further, the menu mentions something about “two people” for the paella but it doesn’t say anything alluding to it charging 19.5€ per person, and it definitely didn’t say anything about that for the croquettes either.

We ordered a number of tapas to try and they were all delicious! I had the Mango Time cocktail and it was really refreshing.

As described in other reviews, the tapas are great - best manchego I have had outside of Spain in a long time - but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The main dishes are also quite tasteless. After ordering a bottle of wine, I saw the waitress walk to the fridge, grab an open bottle, pull the push down cork, and push a real cork embedded into a corkscrew as if to show the bottle had just been opened. This is simply borderline fraudulent. We then had a discussion about it where she told me they don’t have that bottle, before the barman actually brought one to me and opened it in front of us. I live around the corner, I spoke Spanish to the staff and was still treated like a gullible tourist because this is what is expected. This establishment deserves better.

Unfortunately I can't share the very positive reviews. The staff was friendly, even if not everyone spoke German. However, charging just under 10 euros for 10 thin slices of ordinary cheese (60g at most) is more than audacious. The taste was OK, but nothing special.

Vi var en større flok afsted. Stedet vidste på forhånd hvor mange vi var og menuen var bestemt på foran. De havde overhovedet ikke styr på servering. Maden kom alt for sent. Fx måtter 4-5 personer dele en kroket. Der var flere personale tilstede men kun en tjener serverede til 40 mand. Drikkevarer kom heller ikke som lovet. Fyldt med fejl.. beklager men ikke en god oplevelse.

Ich hatte kürzlich das Vergnügen, das BarceLona in der Friedrichstraße in Berlin zu besuchen. Hier ist meine ehrliche Einschätzung: Bedienung: Leider war die weibliche Bedienung nicht optimal. Während des Gesprächs schien sie oft in die Luft zu schauen, anstatt aufmerksam auf die Gäste zu achten. Das hat den Gesamteindruck beeinträchtigt. Authentizität: Als Liebhaber spanischer Küche hatte ich hohe Erwartungen an ein authentisches spanisches Lokal. Obwohl das Ambiente im Barce Lona spanisch inspiriert ist, hätte ich mir dennoch mehr spanische Elemente gewünscht. Essen: Das Essen war gut, aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Die von uns bestellten Tapas waren solide, aber ich habe schon bessere genossen. Interessanterweise habe ich vor Kurzem das Mundo in Mariendorf besucht, in dem die Tapas schöner serviert wurden und auch noch besser waren. Das hat mich etwas überrascht. Insgesamt würde ich dem Barce Lona 3 von 5 Sternen geben. Es hat Potenzial, aber es gibt Raum für Verbesserungen, insbesondere in Bezug auf die Authentizität und den Service. Peter B, Mariendorf

I had the paella for the first time and it was amazing. The fusion of fish and meat like chicken was new to me, but it didn't disappoint! The service was so sociable and friendly. Also have to mention that the dessert ist a must eat here.

The Spanish omelette didn't taste like an omelet at all, the croquettes were good, they are the first ones with good flavor that I have tried in Germany and the olives were good but perhaps they came with a lot of oil.

We enjoyed our time in this place - great tapas variety and amazing sangria. However, the density of tables is a bit too much, basically there's no space between them, going to toilet or having a bag larger than tiny can become an adventure

Es war an sich sehr gut gefüllt aber das wir mit unserer Kellnerinnen über andere von ihr nicht gut beherrschte Sprache reden mussten das Essen in so schlechten Abständen ankam heißt mein Bruder erhält sein Essen 1h später ich einen Teil meines Essens außerdem ist alles sehr teuer und es wird wenig erklärt das war mein erstes und mein letztes Mal hier.😡

Its a nice place, food was nice. I ordered warm Tapas: Octopus, Calamari and Sardellen. Service was not so good, they looked very tired, demotivated. We were waiting for more than an hour for our food. It took also a while to get our desserts and they forgot to bring us one. To speak German and English was also not so easy.

What happened to the former 'Barcelona'?! The best thing about tonight was the wine. The rest was just disappointing. The service was mediocre friendly and made us feel like we were intruding. It was disorganized from the service to the kitchen, the neighboring tables sometimes waited up to 20 minutes until they received the menu cards. We received our tapas after over an hour and one dish was served incorrectly and two were completely forgotten. We didn't find an opportunity to complain, so after about 10 minutes my husband went to the waitress, who wrote it down on her note and after another 15 minutes we received the last 3 dishes. The chicken legs were served with the burnt side down. Overall, the food was not tasty and was really disappointing for us, who had visited the restaurant several times ago. When we wanted to pay, the waitress told us that we could only pay in cash. Strangely, we received a receipt that said interim bill and when paying at the bar we saw that the card terminal was intact. We will not be visiting the restaurant again for the time being and unfortunately cannot recommend it. It's a shame, we used to love going there often.

La comida muy buena, pero siempre el Reggaeton de fondo y a un volumen tan alto se carga todo el ambiente, apenas se puede hablar. Se supone que es un restaurante, no una discoteca. Quise llevar a una persona para probar comida española y desde el minuto uno deseaba irse por la música. Una pena.

Service was initially good, but towards the end of the meal became quite poor. I asked for a coffee with cream three times with no luck. When I said cancel the coffee and bring the bill, the bill & the coffee arrived - but no cream. When I complained I was told they had no cream - this is a restaurant that sells cream-based desserts, so I guess they must buy those in, not make them in house. The waitress brought hot milk, which was acceptable, but it would have been better to do that at the beginning, rather that just ignore my request. Other than that the place is OK. The baby squid in particular was excellent.
