This restaurant used to be a great place to get decent beer and local food. Not anymore. For inexplicable reasons and despot growing concerns over the climate and a generally progressing Germany, this restaurant has decided to regress itself right back to a time before environmental concerns. They have systematically gone through their menu and removed all options without animal product. Even local Schwabian dishes that naturally have no animal product, such as Schupfnudeln. Why? Even their salad has a non-vegan dressing. Why? There is no reason for this other than intentionally ostracizing those who want to make their dietary decisions with the planet in mind. When we asked, we were told all plant-based items were stripped from the menu in order to “focus on local foods” - but again, they removed the very local Schupfnudeln and offered us sweet potato fries as the SINGULAR plant-based option. Sweet potatoe fries, of course, is far from local. No substitutions or viable alternatives were offered. On top of all that, THREE of us were very sick after eating here. Four years of frequent patronage, and none of us will ever come here again.

We were traveling in southern Germany for 3 weeks. We had the best meal in terms of price/performance in Ettlingen, at the Badischer Hof (September 3rd). Everything was perfect.

Reserved at short notice for a large group and got a nice table. Friendly, professional and always served with a smile. And ate and drank very deliciously 👍😎

It was a great evening in the beer garden. Reservation via app works great. The staff was, in our case, very courteous and attentive. We were very satisfied with the food. (4 people) Everyone has a different meal. The only drawback is that the kitchen currently closes at 8 p.m. There is a lack of staff, which the company can't do, so full stars. We will come again! Perfect! Our big birthday party with around 70 people was a complete success, the food and service were exceptional. An uncomplicated consultation before the party - we, the invitees, had a relaxed party.

We spent our girls' evening there and were able to sit in the cozy courtyard in the warm weather. The food was very good, the staff were consistently friendly and attentive. It was a really successful evening, we will definitely be back. 👍

We reserved a table for 10 people at 1 p.m. Assuming that the food was always warm as stated on the website, we learned that hot food was only available until 2 p.m. That caused us some stress. But then everything worked out great and the food was delicious. One point deducted for not updating the homepage.

For example, my onion roast was actually very good, but in this price range I expect real onions and not cheap fried onions on such a good piece of meat. Nice seating in the courtyard. There are better alternatives in Ettlingen.

We made a reservation there for the evening on Saturday (because there were a lot of guests at lunchtime) and wanted to eat warm. Tarte flambée was out, so Maultaschen, Baden Schäufele and schnitzel were ordered. Everything wasn't particularly tasty, the Maultaschen were still cold, and the fries with the schnitzel weren't cooked through. Apparently put in the microwave after a complaint. All in all, no recommendation.

The waiter was hurrying us to order within 2 minutes of our arrival saying the kitchen was going to close even though it was only 8pm and they still accepted people after us.The worst part was they charged us 1.90 euros for a 20 cl glass of tap water. For the rest pretty great spot and good food.

Nice rustic beer garden. +Service was friendly and quick +Steak was well fried and deliciously seasoned +Peperoni with the steak was a dream for me personally +French fries crispy +The prices are really moderate! -The side salad was nothing, mini raw vegetables with a few huge leaves on top, dressing was just sour -Cesar Salad it didn't deserve its name, the dressing was way too thin, not enough power, not enough, croutons without any taste -->no herbs, no garlic, nothing. We could definitely work on that. All in all a nice visit.

We had the Black Forest burger and were unfortunately very disappointed. The meat was completely cooked through and a bit tasteless; the seasoning could have been better. What was worse, however, was that the toppings on the burger were very careless. On one corner there was a tiny bit of cranberries and a mini piece of pear and on the rest there was just meat. The Black Forest ham was placed twice and only on one side of the burger. The resulting thick slice made it impossible to bite off the ham and it was very tough. In addition, there was only a mini lettuce leaf on it and no seasonal salads. Cucumber or tomato could also have been added, as is typical on a burger. But that wasn't on the menu either. I missed sauce too. Unfortunately the bun was also very muddy It was absolutely not a good burger! The sweet potato fries were soggy and not crispy. But with sweet potatoes it is also difficult to get them crispy. There was ketchup with it. That was actually the worst part of it all. Here I would have liked a delicious homemade dip or at least barbecue sauce and not that sweet stuff that only children actually like. All in all, the burger is absolutely not recommended, maybe the other food is better. Unfortunately, the blueberry lemonade also disappointed me and tasted absolutely nothing like blueberries but just like sparkling water with a somewhat indefinable taste. At least the beer was delicious.

I recently visited the Badischer Hof in Ettlingen and was completely impressed. The schnitzel was excellent – ​​perfectly prepared and very tasty. Schöner Außenbereich im Innenhof. Hatten zum späten Mittagessen reserviert. Lokal und auch Außenbereich waren nicht allzu sehr belegt, dennoch mussten wir eine Stunde auf das Essen warten. Das Essen, Burger Schnitzel, Maultaschen war genießbar,aber der Kartoffelsalat war unterirdisch. Da muss die Küchenhilfe, vermutlich war der Koch in der Pause ( steht zu hoffen) sich total vergriffen haben. Schade eigentlich, denn der Service war sehr bemüht und rührig

We were here with the gang, we decided to go because of the good reviews and especially because of the Baden menu that we looked at in advance. The food is okayyyy, nothing more. For example, the spaetzle are not homemade, and otherwise you have the feeling that there is no real chef in the kitchen. We cannot recommend this restaurant if you like good tasty food.

Schnitzel too dry, not recommended. Deer burger, creme brulee, salad and fries were good, drinks were well tapped, friendly service.

Gutbürgerliches Restaurant. Die Bedienung ist sehr gut, sie macht alles alleine. Wir haben 2 Suppen: eine mit Maultasche und eine mit Flädle bestellt. Die Suppen waren sehr salzig und das Suppengemüse leider mehr als bissfest. Danach gab es das Schweineschnitzel, welches angeblich in der Pfanne gebraten wird, was jedoch sehr trocken war und daher wohl eher frittiert. Das Fleisch muss vor der Zubereitung pariert werden. Die Pommes waren sehr hart und trocken. Der Zwiebelrostbraten war ausgezeichnet und die hausgemachten Spätzle waren auch sehr gut. Nur das mediterrane Gemüse passte mit der gegrillten Chilischote nicht dazu.

Everything is just right: delicious food - especially now during asparagus season -, refreshing drinks and of course the best service from very friendly staff. Not to forget the very attractive beer garden, which impresses with its Mediterranean atmosphere (olive and citrus trees). It's worth a visit!

There were four of us that evening (May 2024) and we were completely satisfied. We ordered 1x Maultaschen with potato salad and 3x sausage salad with fried potatoes. So here it comes. The super nice and really very committed waitress came after 5 minutes and said, sorry, but the fried potatoes are out, and would we like to have something else with it? Sure, we'll have fries with it. All clear……….after less than 5 minutes she comes back, completely distraught and really very affected. Sorry….the chef went completely crazy about what it would cost her to change the food…..this table no longer gets any food at all. She described that the cook was aggressive towards her and that she was afraid. Now we sat…..looking at each other…..after 10 minutes we started the conversation with her again. Could there be something else, because as written above, one meal (the Maultaschen had already arrived) and three sat there and were hungry. Now briefly, after another 20-25 minutes we got an alternative (burger, schnitzel), but we booked it on a different table. I could write a few more details here...but let's leave that for now. I thought it was a shame that none of these men, neither the chef nor the manager, had the balls to come, even though we asked nicely. We wanted an explanation. There was no discount or anything on the house either. Otherwise, it's nice and cozy there. A little out of the way, the map is OK and everyone can find something. But a second time will probably take a few years, if at all. Ettlingen offers enough alternatives. So now everyone can think about it

Very friendly and courteous service. I ordered asparagus with potatoes; The potatoes were white and tasted very little. The asparagus was very good but the sauce probably came from a can or a bag and wasn't good, I could tell that it wasn't freshly prepared. Price performance ratio semi good. Unfortunately I can't recommend it. However, the location right in the center of Ettlingen is very good.

Great atmosphere and delicious food!

The food wasn't exactly tasteful... The potato salad was too salty, the asparagus soup completely lacked any flavor, it was a mixture of water, cream, salt and decorative chives... But there was no taste of asparagus, nor was there a piece of asparagus that floated through. It should be noted that we were not charged for the soups after the complaint. But we all only tried 2-3 spoons and four of us had the same opinion.

Not suitable for vegetarians. There is only cheese spaetzle or a baked potato with quark. Both were already offered as an alternative for people living meat-free in the last millennium. The “large mixed salad with goat cheese” that I finally decided on was a handful of leaf lettuce, 3 cucumber slices, a tablespoon of carrot and celery salad from the large bucket. And a piece of baked goat camembert, which was already eaten with two forkfuls. Add half a slice of dry bread. So the salad was anything but big…not a trace of tasty at all. Dressing sour and tasteless.

Our schnitzels were obviously frozen. The ambience is very nice, but I doubt that there is a trained chef working in this restaurant. After our visit we were full but not really happy. Unfortunately, after this I cannot recommend the restaurant. 🫤

Traditional Baden cuisine, tasty and sufficient! Add a suitable drink and then a delicious dessert, and the culinary pleasure is perfect! In summer it's best in the small but lovely guest garden. The restaurant is rustic and has a traditional tavern flair. Since it is always relatively busy, a reservation is recommended.

Just wanted something quick to drink to quench your thirst. After a few minutes we were assigned a table in the beer garden. It wasn't very busy but of course you had to make reservations. The waitress initially wrote down our drinks incorrectly, but this was quickly corrected. A nice place and the beer garden absolutely suits my taste. I can only say one thing about the dishes: they looked very tasty 😋... We'll definitely come by again. Ettlingen and its charm are worth exploring.

It was our first time eating at the Badischer Hof. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was also very nice. We didn't have to wait long for our food on a Saturday evening. Now unfortunately comes the big thing: Unfortunately, the Wiener schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce I ordered wasn't good at all. The schnitzel was totally dry and the breading was very dark/crispy. The taste was also rather average. The cream sauce was far too little and was only enough for 1/4 of the schnitzel. The spaetzle also had no taste and lacked a bit of pizzazz. A pity. We will definitely eat there again in the hope that it was an exception…

The selection of vegetarian dishes is manageable but ok for a good home-style restaurant. It's very comfortable and you can have a good chat. The waitresses were very nice and accommodating. We will be back.

So the Badischer Hof is highly recommended! A very well attended restaurant. Therefore, it is better to reserve there during peak times. Definitely correct in terms of price-performance ratio. You get very good and, above all, delicious meals. A small drawback but that's just a complaint at a high level, unfortunately it's difficult for the employees there to serve everyone quickly when the store is full. Therefore, there may be slightly longer waiting times here and there, even for a drink. But since everything else is really almost perfect, it's not bad. The toilets are very clean. There is also the possibility for smokers to smoke in the courtyard under a roof. What else can I say, go and have a nice evening! It will be worth it.

We were there for the first time. When we made the reservation we didn't know that it would be difficult with a stroller. We had this right at the table because a child was sitting in it. The waitress said if it got crowded, we should put the stroller around the corner. Until then only three tables were occupied and until the end it was very clear. We found the comment inappropriate. There was a lot of traffic at the table, so we moved around, that wasn't a problem. It was pretty cool in the entire dining room, so my companion left his jacket on. Drinks and food were picked up and brought quickly. The soup and side salad was good and plenty. The sausage salad itself was okay, the fried potatoes were way too salty, luckily the herb curd was in a separate container, it was so herb-heavy and bitter that we couldn't eat it. With my companion, the schnitzels were more breaded like meat, the sauce was very thick and the spaetzle was cold. The toilets are very narrow and the door to one cabin no longer closes. You can see through the hallway into the kitchen, which was very clean and tidy. It's certainly more pleasant in the summer when you can eat outside. We cannot rate what the other dishes are like. However, we won't find out because next time we'd rather eat somewhere else.

Mitten in Ettlingen ein schönes Restaurant mit hoher Qualität. Ich war mit der Familie da und wir waren rundum zufrieden.

Gemütlich, Essen war okay, die Süsskartoffelpomnes waren lecker, mein Wildschweinburgerpatty vom Burger war allerdings noch nicht durch . Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Nur wurden wir schon um halb 10 darauf aufmerksam gemacht dass sie um 10 schliessen. Obwohl Öffnungszeit bis 24 Uhr stand und der Laden eigentlich noch genug Gäste da waren.

Waren mit der Firma Kemmler hier Essen... Service komplett überfordert unfreundlich. Essen lauwarm , Portionen für den Preis viel zu wenig. Für Soße muss man Betteln weil es zu wenig ist. Wenn das Getränke Glas leer ist,wird man nicht gefragt ob man was haben möchte. Hier gehe wir nicht mehr hin. 😌

Wir waren eine Gruppe von ca. 25 Personen.. aufgeteilt auf 3 Tischen. Essen wurde bei allen Tischen aufgenommen. Tisch 1 bekommt Vorspeise und sogar teilweise schon Hauptspeise! Tisch 2 bleibt ohne Vorspeise und Hauptspeise! Tisch 3 bekommt Vorspeise.. das Essen kam einfach total versetzt und während andere gerade mal ihre Hauptspeise hatten, haben andere von uns den Nachtisch bereits bestellt.. die Bedienungen haben auch sehr genervt gewirkt.. Essen war okay, würde aber kein 2. mal her kommen :)

Bin mindestens 10x im letzten Jahr im badischen Hof gewesen und der Service und das Essen sind immer exzellent. Im Sommer ist es schön, draussen zu sitzen. Im Winter kann es drinnen relativ laut sein. Definitiv eine der besten Optionen in Ettlingen, wenn man leckere traditionelle Küche zu vernünftigen Preisen sucht.

Beim kauen des Schwarzwald-Burgers, dachte ich, ich kaue auf einem Autoreifen… Der Service wirkte etwas verwirrt. Getränke kamen doppelt und dreifach. Espresso war okay.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich u. hilfsbereit, leider aber hoffnungslos überfordert. Lange Wartezeiten, fehlende Bestellungen. In meinem Hähnchen Rahmgeschnetzeltem waren 70% Pilze, und das Hähnchen konnte man leider suchen. Es war aber grundsätzlich alles sehr lecker.
