Have had better calzones. One last time at Schmidt Bäcker something like this is possible.

The food is rather mediocre, the noodles are often sticky. You get tired of the potatoes even after 3 bites; they often sit for a long time and are over-seasoned. The bakery stuff is actually quite good, so it's better to take something with you than eat there.

So to differentiate, the bakery is easily 5 out of 5 stars! Schmidt Baker is great! The restaurant part is rather bad than good. Inefficient order taking leads to long queues. The food is mediocre, there are no fries or croquettes and the only alternative is disgusting small potatoes in their skins or cheap potato salad that is way too cold. You get the food yourself when the beeper you receive rings. The ambience is more reminiscent of motorway rest areas but still stands out from those. However, the beepers that you hear are beeping non-stop from all corners, and some people don't even check who it is beeping, which means that it rings for even longer. When it's raining, hardly a moment goes by without the sounds of the table alarm clock around you. Otherwise, you'll be so overwhelmed by frothing milk that you won't understand anything anymore.

We have been here four times and we've been on vacation only a week so far. We have a week and a half to go and we will come back here at least a few more times. We love it here!

Large selection and nice indoor and outdoor seating.

The Schmidt Bakery is certainly an institution in our region. Why the shop in Roth doesn't close the shade or turn on the air conditioning when it's over 30C doesn't explain to me. As a guest, you sit inside in extremely stuffy air and sweat. You can only feel sorry for the staff. The terrace also provides almost no shade. Something urgently needs to be done here and the store needs to be renovated in general.

The place is quite large and has many available tables. The staff is nice and friendly, and the service is quick. The terrace is very pleasant, the food is delicious and is fresh and made to order, which makes the taste of the food very good. Highly recommended!

First of all, a big THANK YOU to Caro, who served us so kindly and attentively on August 16th - on a very hot summer day. Compliment that you can keep track of so many guests in the outdoor area and serve each guest with great friendliness. Our food - glass noodle salad and Pizza Diavolo - was extremely tasty. We would love to come back and look forward to our next visit.

You can have a good breakfast here. Unfortunately, the staff is a bit inflexible if you want to swap breakfast items. I don't like croissants and just wanted a slice of bread instead. But no chance. I had to take the croissant and pay extra for the bread. I didn't think that was that great. You also have to put up with very long waiting times at the checkout because the cashiers have to prepare the drinks after you order. But it's still a nice cafe for a good breakfast.

The food took a very long time. Ok, it was full. But the pizza was lukewarm and my extra toppings (onions and corn) never saw the oven. They were then sprinkled cold on the pizza. Unfortunately there was no chicken wrap either. Reason: 3 have already been sold today 😬.

Chic large bakery chain with a café and almost restaurant quality.

Rolls, cakes and sweet items are really good and recommended. A few too many times I got old pretzels from Schmidt. That's not so nice, especially since they only have to be baked fresh. It's not like someone has to roll fresh pretzels onto the tray in the back of the bakery. Breakfast at Schmidt's has gourmet standards, at least in terms of price. An omelette, four fried eggs and two cheese lover plates, two coffees and an orange juice, the three of them cost just under €44. An old friend would have said: “Did we order half a beef…?” But Schmidt can convince with quality... But expectations also increase with the price. The omelet was too salty, the plum compote with the cheese had a note of onion, the muesli looked great and tasted good too. Since you can get your own stuff like in a canteen but have to pay like in a great restaurant, the price-performance ratio at breakfast is not right... The employees put in a lot of effort, but they can't do anything about the overall concept. So it's okay, I want to be more than it is...

Ordered breakfast for 2. Paid 32€. Twice instructed to serve omelet without ham. Still got an omelette with leftover ham. The portion is a disgrace. 32€ for a bit of cheese, 2 cucumber slices, and other junk. Bread grains were moldy and the pastries were not fresh at all. German bakeries are once again at their best. Definitely usury.

We've just caught the unfriendly employees there are (July 28/5:15 p.m.) who prefer to talk about how little they feel like doing their job rather than worrying about service. If they can do something, it's probably the wrong decision when choosing a job meet.

Von außen sah es ganz nett aus, drinnen fällt alles dem Kostensparwahnsinn zum Opfer und somit der Qualität für den Gast. Man muss sein Essen an der Kasse bestellen und bekommt einen Pieper. Soweit gut - aber genau an der Kasse finden sich dann auch Besteck und Servietten und hat man das nicht gleich zu Anfang mitgenommen, darf man sich nachher durch Familien mit Kindern durchkämpfen. Das Fränkische Gut wie das Essen hies, mit Bratkartoffele, Rostbratwürsten und Ei als auch Brot hörte sich genau richtig an. Aber, es fehlte die komplette Würze, kein Salz, kein Pfeffer, keine Liebe. Die Würstl waren viel zu hell, die Bratkartoffeln viel zu fettig und es ist auch kein Senf und nix dabei. Der Satz im Essensraum dass der Genuss für den Gaumen Balsam für die Seele sei, sollte sich die Küchencrew mal zu Herzen führen. Das ist schlimmer als die schlimmste Kantine gewesen, lieblos und ungepflegt, auch die Toiletten - es war einfach ungenießbar und so sah auch der Kuchen aus. Eine glatte Sechs Minus - besser zu McD oder einfach hungrig bleiben, aber das war für die fränkische Küche echt traurig.

After a 6 hour drive we wanted to have a nice breakfast... Unfortunately, a real breakfast is only available from 8 a.m. Very unfriendly service and the music is so loud in the morning that you feel like you're there! Can't have a normal conversation at the table. It's a shame about the great interior.

Hello together, The Schmidt Bakery is a chain in Franconia. In my opinion, the level stands out clearly from other branch bakeries I know. The quality of the baked goods is high, whether bread or rolls, pastries or cakes :-). So far I have always found the service to be friendly and quick-witted: I, after a recommendation: "Woe, that doesn't taste good!" Answer: Then please bring it back, I like to eat it!" Cool 😂

Much more than just a baker Reminds me of the typical American food stores, here you can find everything from bakeries to burgers, pizza and ice cream. Lots of seating and a large parking space are also there and are also needed!

We've been waiting for 25 minutes and there's no conditions to take our order, nor did anyone come to give us the card. Multiple hand signals were a success or polite questions, but nothing more than empty looks. Because of this we are leaving.

For a baker, the rolls left a lot to be desired, pre-baked rolls were slightly warmed, that's all it was... Even Aldi can do it better and of course cheaper!

Long waiting time during self-service, order not received, queue again. A total of over 30 minutes for 2 iced coffees.

Actually very nicely decorated, but I waited over 20 minutes for an ice cream chocolate after ordering. Before that, we had already waited 15 minutes to be served and then had to be shouted at because some people thought we could queue from both sides. Otherwise, as I said, good food and a nice atmosphere.

Typical Schmidt baker. Service was OK. When it comes to dishes you get what you expect, just average. Unfortunately the asparagus was inedible and was returned.

Was worth the trip. Everything you need is there. Eat, drink, drink coffee, eat cake, relax.

We had breakfast at this bakery on Saturday morning and it was an absolute delight! The bakery is like a huge restaurant with lots of seating both inside and outside. The breakfast menu selection is impressive and there is something to suit every taste. Particularly noteworthy is the self-service, which is very well organized. Everything was extremely clean, which made the stay even more pleasant. Another highlight is the huge pizza oven that we saw - apparently they also serve delicious pizza here during the day. A perfect location for a cozy breakfast or a delicious snack! Highly Recommended!

The shop is a goldmine, but on Sundays and public holidays the prices of pastries are increased! Personally, I find it sad when you can't get your fill!

This bakery has everything you could want in a bakery. 6nd there is also a great range of warm dishes. We will definitely stop here again the next time we drive past.

The food was good. but the one employee behind the counter. extremely unfriendly and disrespectful. A family in front of me was served like this and I came afterwards and she closed the cash register and told me to go on to the next cash register because here we only eat there. I tell her I want to eat in there too and she says no, this is for take away. As if that wasn't confusing enough, she then talks to me in a really derogatory way, "DRÜÜBEN" as if I were a child standing in front of her. There wasn't even a lot going on or there was a line or something... I don't know if it was discriminatory against me or something else... but I don't think that should be the case... it's a shame because I like to eat here but not anymore.

It was my first time there... I don't actually go to self-service restaurants... I was pleasantly surprised. Ate lasagna and pollock with potato salad. It was beautifully presented with some salad and tasted very good. I'll definitely be back...

It's a shame that you can't give 0 stars. Schmidt Hilpoltstein: Staff can't do math Schmidt Georgengmünd: the lady with the "headdress" refuses to sell a caramel latte because it doesn't exist here. I've been buying this for about 5 years. The caramel was on the counter... Schmidt Georgengmünd at Rewe: the employee there should be fired immediately. So unfriendly, unless you're one of her acquaintances. Schmidt Roth: can't make ice cream sundaes. There are very few staff with knowledge. The rest is just put in without being trained. You probably can't blame the new ones here, but they should really think about the training.

Wir sind Wiederholungstäter, denn das Essen (egal ob zum Café oder Abendessen) ist super, die Bedienung total freundlich und die Köche absolut flink - ohne dass es hektisch wirkt. Das Essen ist immer bezaubernd angerichtet. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt unseres Erachtens. Es wird auf individuelle Wünsche eingegangen. Der Chef ist sehr kompromissbereit, wenn man persönliche Anliegen äußert. Wir können dieses Lokal uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Ich hatte Wraps mit Lachs und Spinat dazu Salat. Das Essen wurde unmittelbar in Sichtweite zubereitet, und da fehlen einem echt die Worte. Die Dame die hinterm Tresen stand fasste alle möglichen Dinge an, dann griff sie mit ungewaschenen Händen ( ohne Handschuhe) in die Salat bar, machte alles in eine Schale, kippte aus einer Plastikflasche Sosse darüber und vermengte dann auch den Salat mit den Hände. Dann kam er auf den Teller. Was sind das bitte für hygienische Vorgehensweisen. Ich hab sie dann auch daraufhin angesprochen, sie meinte nur sie verträgt keine Handschuhe, aber scheinbar auch kein Händewaschen bevor sie Lebensmittel anfasst. Dort werde ich nichts mehr essen.

Just a great shop/restaurant/snack bar. Everything of everything, and extremely clean and tidy. There is even a separate children's corner for the little ones. The food is plentiful, today I had a “Jäger” schnitzel. I didn't manage the portion for 15 euros, but I was able to pack the rest. And delicious too, so I absolutely recommend it. Drive or walk there and see for yourself. You won't regret it!

Unfriendly staff went to get rolls this morning. People are ignored, no politeness is given and they hide behind caste. You are treated as if you were coming to be fed and not as a guest and standing outside, "Connoisseur Corner" or something like that.

The issue with the parking spaces is very mixed, sometimes there are some, but there are none at all because the rush is really big every now and then. This also means that sometimes there are no seats or free tables left inside. But it really depends on the day. It's best to call in advance, especially in the evening. The selection on the menu is good and relatively large. There is something for everyone. The portions are okay, but the quality of some dishes has decreased a bit. The pizzas are freshly topped and are very tasty and large. The selection at the front of the counter is also very large. Just like the selection of drinks from house, lemonades to soft drinks. Once you have ordered your food, you get a pager that rings and you pick up the food from the front. Some dishes are really very tasty and some would be good if they were improved a bit. The sanitary facilities are not always that clean, unfortunately. There are also some types of ice cream that you can order as dessert or cake.

Very unfriendly unmotivated staff especially the slightly younger one and already in the first hour of work. Don't look at your guests, no moo, no moo. Do you make faces like you're a criminal?

Bakery Schmidt in Roth is always worth it. It tastes great and the ambience is great too.

Were there for dinner. Had pizza, pasta and the baked potato. It was all super tasty and the employees were very nice and quick. The drama started later. The plates weren't cleared away at all. The drinks we ordered didn't arrive even after 35 minutes of waiting. But at the end it was on the bill, which was very cheeky. Apparently our waitress went on break without handing over - something like that shouldn't happen. All in all it was really great, except that we weren't served at the end. Very unfortunate

My girlfriend had a pizza and I had a baked potato, both dishes came quickly and were very tasty. The service is top, super friendly and prices are okay 👍🏼 The ambience could be improved a bit but we'll be happy to come back 😎

The pizzas are still very good and the price is OK. Unfortunately, some dishes were deleted (baked potato, beef) or significantly changed (gourmet breakfast). It was better in terms of price-performance ratio. But it's still OK.

Mega delicious food. But way too much. Like most restaurants. You have to share the dish with someone. It tasted great. I would go there again and again.

As usual, the food was very tasty and the service staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, I was too stressed and forgot my daughter's dessert and also the cream. My Cola wide wouldn't be mixed properly either. Still a nice evening.

Apart from the fact that the baked goods are always top notch, you can also eat very well there. The pizzas are mega delicious, just like in Italy. The salads are also top and highly recommended, the one with shrimp. But the breakfast selection is also very good. Always worth a visit.

The recipes of the dishes are gradually ending, unfortunately for the negative. The portions are getting smaller and smaller, despite the price increase. It's a real shame, it used to be a really great restaurant.

Totally unfriendly staff. Been there for the first and last time. Apparently there is a “queuing policy” in this café that is pointed out very unfriendly and then ignored. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food because I then left the café. Maybe the staff should be trained again on how to deal with customers.

Best food in the area. Drive an extra 35km to eat there. Been coming here for years. The waitresses are always super friendly and accommodating. We love our Schmidt!

We had dinner there this evening. Were greeted and served very friendly. The food was brought to the table very quickly after ordering. It was very tasty and the portion was sufficient. The waitress (Mrs. Brunner) kept checking on us and fulfilled all of our wishes. We will be back. Definitely recommend Baker Schmidt in Roth.

Hello Schmidt team, we have often been getting food from you for years and have always been satisfied. Our kids really love your schnitzel with salad, and sometimes struggled to make it.... Now we got two Wicki Schnitzel again...unfortunately our kids were really disappointed today. A really small schnitzel + side dish. An additional cheese sandwich had to do the trick. Does it really have to be like that now? The little ones don't want any more *baby portions* in the future, as they say... Best regards, Andre
