Bäckerei Schmidt in Roth

So far the only "Schmidt Bäcker" with pizza, this is now also available in Hip 😋.... Bread, pastries, burgers and many other lovingly prepared delicacies always entice you 😉. Unfortunately, the last few times the music and the noise level were much too loud. 🙃

Waren heute 5.1.2025 um 8⁰⁰ Frühstück sehr unfreundlicher Empfang, bei Nachfrage wie es abläuft sehr pambige Antwort. Bei Semmel Körbchen nur vorgegebene Auswahl kein eigen Wunsch möglich,Cappuccino kalt und nur 80%Schaum. O Saft sehr billig und nicht gut,schinken, kässe sehr trocken/geschmack los, Blauberen extrem bitter, Marmelade extrem wenig,Salami kein Geschmack, Rührei war gut ,Jogurt igitt, auch die Semmel waren ohne biss Bei einen Gourmet frühstück für 32€ sehr enttäuscht

I forgot something and reported it immediately by phone. I was told that it had been left in the lost property and when I came back it was "lost". All lost items are in some open box and are not safe. If you forget something and want it back, you have to come back the same day!

Nice large selection and very tasty pastries. You can sit nicely inside and have a long breakfast.

If it weren't so far away, this would be our Sunday cafe. See you again Top service, very nice atmosphere and the prices are not excessive. Very, very large selection and everything of the best quality. That explains the queue of customers, everyone wanting to enjoy.

We are campers nearby and love coming here every now and then for breakfast or a very good pizza! We know very well that we have to spend some time here - but there is quality and delicious food. The employees are always hard-working and try to do their best. Today we unfortunately had to experience how rude some guests can be! It's not possible to verbally attack the young guy behind the counter with so much anger and malice! I told the gentleman that too! (Then at least there was some peace) Decency is zero! It was just a shame for others. As I said, the staff tries their best! A little empathy wouldn't hurt! To the young employees... keep your head up! There will always be idiots! And to the management, it would be nice if you stood behind your people and had their backs! ;) On that note, Merry Christmas

great cake, I can't resist, I'm a guest there often, also very good lunch dishes, Some ice cream parlors can take a leaf out of their ice cream, in terms of taste and decoration. The ice cream is always delicious And got cake again.

Great restaurant to spontaneously grab something to eat. Great pizzas and there is something for every taste. There are usually still free places but a reservation definitely makes sense. Just heading into the weekend! There is nothing negative to report

I am always amazed by the food and service here! Our waiter even recognized us when we ate here every few weeks for a few months! Unfortunately, we've been 'lucky' twice so far to get the same place at the emergency exit, which is unfortunately a bit drafty. A bit annoying, especially in the cold season.

Ordered some hot cocoa to go today! Thought this was prepared with the machine! The employee took a carafe of cold cocoa out of the fridge, poured the required amount into a metal jug and then tried to heat it up with the milk frother! Then she handed me the cocoa in a paper cup! The cocoa was still cold and tasted like shit! So we were daily customers there and left a high 100s amount there at the moment! This is now finally over!

Habe heute heute einen heißen Kakao zum mitnehmen bestellt! Dachte dieser wird mit der Maschine zubereitet! Die Mitarbeiterin holte eine Karaffe mit kaltem Kakao aus dem Kühlschrank, schüttete die benötigte Menge in eine Metall Kanne und dann wurde versucht es mit dem Milchaufschäumer zu erhitzen! Danach übergab sie mir den Kakao im Pappbecher! Der Kakao war immernoch kalt und schmeckte einfach beschissen! Also wir waren dort tägliche Kunden und ließen dort im Moment einen hohen 100er Betrag! Damit ist jetzt endgültig Schluss!

Pizza always good, but not outstanding. Unfortunately the burger wasn't good (frozen patty, dry bun, coleslaw from the one with a lot of mayo) It's spacious inside, but relatively loud. Price performance: well

Comfortably furnished. Food was good and also beautifully prepared to the eye. Felt comfortable.

It's more of a self-service restaurant. Cozy atmosphere with plenty of outdoor space. The dishes are delicious, I had a glass of porridge for €5.45 and a cup of coffee cream for €2.25. Because it was brunch, there was later an omelet with ham and 2 slices of farmhouse bread for €8.25. A nougat croissant to take away was mega big for €2.55. It's not cheap, but as written, tasty and filling!

Unfortunately, there are long queues, especially at breakfast time. The ladies try very hard and are always friendly, but there is often just too much going on and there are long queues - therefore only two stars for service. If I feel like having another coffee for breakfast, I'll miss it - that's why waiting in line for so long again is annoying. The selection is wide, the food is good and the portions are sufficient. The atmosphere is tasteful and cozy. Often full, so it can be very loud in the large building. There is also nice, covered seating outside, a small fenced-in playground and a large parking lot.

Very inviting on the outside and in terms of offerings, except for the toilets. You can lose your appetite. Disgusting.

Why did I give 5 stars for food and service but only 1 star overall? Because you still haven't been able to do it before 5 p.m., for example, to stretch a ribbon or draw a line on the floor in order to avoid chaos at the checkout. There is now a sign there, but there is still a commotion in front of the cash registers.

Dachte es wird besser..... Aber leider Irrtum. Trotz Selbstbedienung zu hohe Preise. Personal spricht kaum deutsch und ist unfreundlich zum Kunden. Kommandieren die Kunden zur anderen Kasse mit unhöflichem Ton. Wer bin ich denn daß ich Folge leisten muss. Fischfilet und Kartoffelsalat schmeckt wie Fertigprodukt. Total verdreckte Tische, überall klebt es. Zuckerstreuer eckelhaft und klebrig. Sauberkeit gibts nicht. Die Bänke und Stühle sind schmutzig und niemand da der sich darum kümmert. Man muss aufpassen dass man sich nicht auf die verkleben Essensreste setzt und die Kleidung dadurch verschmutzt. Hygiene gibt es hier nicht. Richtige Fastfood Bude. Das Schmutzige Geschirr stapelt sich an der Rückgabe und wieder niemand da der es wegräumt. Hauptsache der Rubel rollt. Toiletten verdreckt, lockere Türgriffe und kein Handtuchpapier vorhanden. Da sollte mal das Gesundheitsamt allgemein besser kontrollieren. Keine Empfehlung👎👎👎👎👎

“Baker Schmidt” is written outside. While we waited at the electric car store, we looked for coffee and cake. The parking lot is full on a holiday? No wonder! Baker Schmidt is a gourmet temple! Because here, in addition to freshly smelling bread, coffee and a huge selection of cakes, there are excellent "Börger", homemade pasta and dumplings, wood-fired pizza and cocktails. Full program from breakfast to dinner. Although self-service is popular here, you will find very friendly employees who always have time to say "bon appetit" when handing over the freshly prepared food. We felt comfortable here!

We were there on Sunday. It was very busy. But the employees had everything sorted and under control so that everyone got a very tasty breakfast. The breakfast was perfect. The eggs and bacon were very tasty. Not too crispy and not too mushy either. Friendly staff. Gladly again 😀

We use the bakery when passing through to the B2. Great offer, delicious products, especially the bread. Bread lasts a long time without getting moldy and is of good quality.

The pastries are good, nothing can be said about the coffee and cocktails too. But the food on the menu definitely needs to be improved, it's catastrophic!

I can only recommend great price/performance ratio, great opening times...bakery and at the same time catering...and a small selection...but great and all without the smell of fries...no fries...

I had dinner there three times in a row and tried three different dishes (house schnitzel chicken, pizza diavolo, pulled chicken burger). Every dish and its ingredients were always fresh, the overall package was always very tasty and the service was always friendly and courteous. All in all, I can only recommend it there.

The culmination of the decline of baking culture. Large selection, taste only at a convenience-we-bake-fresh-daily-(ON)-baked goods level. For an honest craft baker's price, you get the same taste. These days the baker also bakes pizza and fried schnitzels. This variety, no wonder, comes at the expense of taste. Today I fell for the nut cake again, which looked delicious, mind you. Tasteless but screamingly sweet, glycerin-like juicy & exaggeratedly fluffy fresh from the baking food chemist. However, the staff was friendly. Last time the cream slices now the nut cake. Now we have it here & no one wants to eat it.

I ordered 2 pizzas online for 7:20 p.m., got there at 7:15 p.m. and the pizzas were already only lukewarm. By the time I got home 5 minutes later, they had to be put back in the oven because otherwise we would have eaten cold pizza... The taste was OK, but it used to be better (dough and tomato sauce were tasteless). Very unfortunate.

Sunday afternoon long lines as if there was welcome money. Completely unclear where each begins. Left without having achieved anything. Decide what you want to be. Restaurant, then do it right, or bakery, then it's best to outsource it.

Best place with nice ambience and great food. Open till 22 Uhr. Highly recommended

So we thought the pizza was excellent, better than some Italian restaurants. The ambience is also nice and you can't complain about the service either.

Personnel are apparently only filled by untrained and inexperienced people. Confused running back and forth and lack of motivation leads to waiting times that are far too long. I won't shop there anymore.

So to differentiate, the bakery is easily 5 out of 5 stars! Schmidt Baker is great! The restaurant part is rather bad than good. Inefficient order taking leads to long queues. The food is mediocre, there are no fries or croquettes and the only alternative is disgusting small potatoes in their skins or cheap potato salad that is way too cold. You get the food yourself when the beeper you receive rings. The ambience is more reminiscent of motorway rest areas but still stands out from those. However, the beepers that you hear are beeping non-stop from all corners, and some people don't even check who it is beeping, which means that it rings for even longer. When it's raining, hardly a moment goes by without the sounds of the table alarm clock around you. Otherwise, you'll be so overwhelmed by frothing milk that you won't understand anything anymore.

The food is rather mediocre, the noodles are often sticky. You get tired of the potatoes even after 3 bites; they often sit for a long time and are over-seasoned. The bakery stuff is actually quite good, so it's better to take something with you than eat there.

We have been here four times and we've been on vacation only a week so far. We have a week and a half to go and we will come back here at least a few more times. We love it here!

Large selection and nice indoor and outdoor seating.

The Schmidt Bakery is certainly an institution in our region. Why the shop in Roth doesn't close the shade or turn on the air conditioning when it's over 30C doesn't explain to me. As a guest, you sit inside in extremely stuffy air and sweat. You can only feel sorry for the staff. The terrace also provides almost no shade. Something urgently needs to be done here and the store needs to be renovated in general.

The place is quite large and has many available tables. The staff is nice and friendly, and the service is quick. The terrace is very pleasant, the food is delicious and is fresh and made to order, which makes the taste of the food very good. Highly recommended!

The staff and offerings are great.

First of all, a big THANK YOU to Caro, who served us so kindly and attentively on August 16th - on a very hot summer day. Compliment that you can keep track of so many guests in the outdoor area and serve each guest with great friendliness. Our food - glass noodle salad and Pizza Diavolo - was extremely tasty. We would love to come back and look forward to our next visit.

You can have a good breakfast here. Unfortunately, the staff is a bit inflexible if you want to swap breakfast items. I don't like croissants and just wanted a slice of bread instead. But no chance. I had to take the croissant and pay extra for the bread. I didn't think that was that great. You also have to put up with very long waiting times at the checkout because the cashiers have to prepare the drinks after you order. But it's still a nice cafe for a good breakfast.

The food took a very long time. Ok, it was full. But the pizza was lukewarm and my extra toppings (onions and corn) never saw the oven. They were then sprinkled cold on the pizza. Unfortunately there was no chicken wrap either. Reason: 3 have already been sold today 😬.

Wir waren zum Geburtstagskaffee eingeladen und waren 20 Personen... Sehr Grosse Auswahl an Kuchen und Getränken. Alles sehr lecker und frisch. Ab 17 Uhr mit Bedienungen die sehr aufmerksam und flott sind. Besonders Herr Tienel (Tinel?) zeigt dass er seinen Job sehr gerne macht. Ein ganz klasser und lustiger Mitarbeiter. Danke hierfür! Gibt es sehr selten...

Chic large bakery chain with a café and almost restaurant quality.

Rolls, cakes and sweet items are really good and recommended. A few too many times I got old pretzels from Schmidt. That's not so nice, especially since they only have to be baked fresh. It's not like someone has to roll fresh pretzels onto the tray in the back of the bakery. Breakfast at Schmidt's has gourmet standards, at least in terms of price. An omelette, four fried eggs and two cheese lover plates, two coffees and an orange juice, the three of them cost just under €44. An old friend would have said: “Did we order half a beef…?” But Schmidt can convince with quality... But expectations also increase with the price. The omelet was too salty, the plum compote with the cheese had a note of onion, the muesli looked great and tasted good too. Since you can get your own stuff like in a canteen but have to pay like in a great restaurant, the price-performance ratio at breakfast is not right... The employees put in a lot of effort, but they can't do anything about the overall concept. So it's okay, I want to be more than it is...

Ordered breakfast for 2. Paid 32€. Twice instructed to serve omelet without ham. Still got an omelette with leftover ham. The portion is a disgrace. 32€ for a bit of cheese, 2 cucumber slices, and other junk. Bread grains were moldy and the pastries were not fresh at all. German bakeries are once again at their best. Definitely usury.

We've just caught the unfriendly employees there are (July 28/5:15 p.m.) who prefer to talk about how little they feel like doing their job rather than worrying about service. If they can do something, it's probably the wrong decision when choosing a job meet.

Von außen sah es ganz nett aus, drinnen fällt alles dem Kostensparwahnsinn zum Opfer und somit der Qualität für den Gast. Man muss sein Essen an der Kasse bestellen und bekommt einen Pieper. Soweit gut - aber genau an der Kasse finden sich dann auch Besteck und Servietten und hat man das nicht gleich zu Anfang mitgenommen, darf man sich nachher durch Familien mit Kindern durchkämpfen. Das Fränkische Gut wie das Essen hies, mit Bratkartoffele, Rostbratwürsten und Ei als auch Brot hörte sich genau richtig an. Aber, es fehlte die komplette Würze, kein Salz, kein Pfeffer, keine Liebe. Die Würstl waren viel zu hell, die Bratkartoffeln viel zu fettig und es ist auch kein Senf und nix dabei. Der Satz im Essensraum dass der Genuss für den Gaumen Balsam für die Seele sei, sollte sich die Küchencrew mal zu Herzen führen. Das ist schlimmer als die schlimmste Kantine gewesen, lieblos und ungepflegt, auch die Toiletten - es war einfach ungenießbar und so sah auch der Kuchen aus. Eine glatte Sechs Minus - besser zu McD oder einfach hungrig bleiben, aber das war für die fränkische Küche echt traurig.

After a 6 hour drive we wanted to have a nice breakfast... Unfortunately, a real breakfast is only available from 8 a.m. Very unfriendly service and the music is so loud in the morning that you feel like you're there! Can't have a normal conversation at the table. It's a shame about the great interior.

Hello together, The Schmidt Bakery is a chain in Franconia. In my opinion, the level stands out clearly from other branch bakeries I know. The quality of the baked goods is high, whether bread or rolls, pastries or cakes :-). So far I have always found the service to be friendly and quick-witted: I, after a recommendation: "Woe, that doesn't taste good!" Answer: Then please bring it back, I like to eat it!" Cool 😂

Always a place to go during the challenge week

Much more than just a baker Reminds me of the typical American food stores, here you can find everything from bakeries to burgers, pizza and ice cream. Lots of seating and a large parking space are also there and are also needed!

Fresh food, just good, very good bakery, restaurant, top price

We've been waiting for 25 minutes and there's no conditions to take our order, nor did anyone come to give us the card. Multiple hand signals were a success or polite questions, but nothing more than empty looks. Because of this we are leaving.

For a baker, the rolls left a lot to be desired, pre-baked rolls were slightly warmed, that's all it was... Even Aldi can do it better and of course cheaper!
