Azzam is one of my favorite places to eat in Berlin. The food is immaculate. I love to get a sandwich or the veggie platter for 2 people (definitely good for ~3 people). It's tough to attempt substitutions in the sandwich (if you want to make it a makali halloumi, for instance)–it all depends on who is taking your order. The staff is mostly pretty gruff and unfriendly, bordering on mean/rude. It's very hard to hear them call your order and they get upset if you don't immediately know it's yours. It's part of the Azzam experience! Also the lighting in the restaurant is so atrocious, I can't stand to eat there.

The price-performance ratio is unbeatable, but the prices have been increased several times recently. That's okay, but then the quality and processes should also be improved. It's somewhat chaotic, but the food is very, very delicious!

During my visit to Berlin, I became curious to try eating at Azzam's restaurant. The staff are friendly, and of course the food is very good and has a special taste. I hope it stays like this.

We really loved Fetah and Shish Tawuk with its accompaniments. Everything was really tasty in our view. Also the portion sizes are really big. Portion sizes were really big. One portion of any item was enough for two of us.

Azzam Restaurant is an absolute gem and quickly became one of my favorite spots for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. I recently went for dinner and had one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The quality of the food is truly fantastic, with every dish tasting fresh and expertly prepared. The star of the show, however, is the sheer value you get for your money. The portions are incredibly generous; they definitely make sure you leave feeling fully satisfied, which is something I always appreciate in a dining experience. The prices are more than fair, making it a highly affordable option without sacrificing quality. The welcoming atmosphere created by the staff really elevates the experience. I found the employees to be exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my visit. One employee, in particular, was very patient and even spoke English, which made ordering seamless and enjoyable. It’s these small touches that make a huge difference. As a delightful extra, they even offer complimentary cups of tea, which is a wonderful, unexpected bonus and perfectly caps off the meal. While the environment is casual and cheerful, the focus is clearly on the incredible food and the great service. I highly recommend making this your go-to spot if you're looking for genuine flavor, massive portions, and a genuinely friendly service experience. I love the food at Azzam, especially the hummus and other dishes—it's truly delicious, and I've been coming here for years. Unfortunately, there's a cashier (a slightly overweight, dark-skinned man with an arrogant attitude) who always charges me extra for the sauce—sometimes €1, €1.50, or even €2, even though it's never stated on the menu and other employees never do it. It seems unfair and unprofessional. It's not about the amount, but about the principle and the poor treatment of regular customers. It's a shame, because the food is great.

I think people frequent this restaurant a lot because it's simply cheap. The food was subpar, nothing special. The staff was stressed to the point of mistreating you. Card payments are not possible. On the plus side, the service is recalled, but given the quality of the products, that's understandable. I'm disappointed.

Azzam on Sonnenallee is the place to go for authentic Lebanese-Palestinian food. Everything is freshly prepared, delicious, and the value for money is outstanding. It’s usually crowded and not the most beautiful place, but the food more than makes up for it. We always come back when we’re in Berlin! 🌿🇱🇧🇵🇸

More than 7 years of coming to Berlin and Azzam two things havenot changed 1) Azzam is the cheapest Falafel place in Berlin 2) Extremely fresh and Hygenic quality of food and now 3) having eaten elsewhere in Berlin and other parts of the world handsdown the best flavor and ingredients when it comes to Falafel wraps . Wow . Thank you for doing such a great job. There is not enough I can recommend this place even if you have to take 30 minutes to reach here. It is totally 200% worth it because of quality and flavors made great by the price as well .

It'll fill you up! Authentic Lebanese dishes, and for the price, the portion sizes are really good, without skimping on taste or quality. The mixed platter for two is definitely for those with a big appetite, and I could feed my whole family with the hummus. A definite recommendation for good eaters!

The worst restaurant in history. This is the first time in history that I have seen a shawarma sandwich without a topping. Very bad treatment.

The food is satisfying and the portions are generous, so you definitely won’t leave hungry. Prices are fair and in line with similar places. However, the overall experience could be better: the dishes are decent but not outstanding, service is hit-or-miss, and the dining hall feels neglected – harsh fluorescent lighting and not the cleanest environment. In summer it becomes especially uncomfortable, with no air conditioning and extra heat radiating from the grill. Worth a visit if you’re nearby and hungry, but not the most pleasant place to linger.

Best shish kabab I’ve ever had. The entire mix grill plate was delicious, full of flavor and really tender, but the kabab / meat skewer is out of this world. Everything was fresh and the dips were super tasty! Staff is super friendly and welcoming, impeccable service. Highly recommended!

I am a regular customer here, coming here virtually every week, but today (02.09.2025) at around 12:20 something unacceptable happened. I went to order something and the man at the cash register simply laughed in my face. He seemed to be laughing at my voice, although it is not clear (perhaps I spoke in a very gentle way or he found it somehow amusing). In any case it hurt me very deeply, and in the past this particular man had also been rude to me before. Then when I made my order, he charged me higher than the price advertised (€6 instead of 5). When I pointed out that the Linsen Suppe was €5 he seemed not to understand and said something like "ok, €11 euros please", and was not cooperative, speaking to me in what I found to be a quite aggressive manner. It was humiliating to be in the queue and subjected to this kind of behaviour. Then I noticed that he perhaps had not heard me correctly in my initial order, since I saw on some receipt that "sukuk" was written. At that point he accepted my €5 for the Linsen Suppe but provided me with no receipt, saying "it was fine without". It was a very unprofessional and humiliating experience. The whole experience will not stop me from going to this restaurant, because it is really good, and the staff are very friendly and warm, and I have gone here almost every week for at least 3 years. What will make me remove this review is an apology, and then I will put a 5 star review on its place. It hurt me very deeply and was so unnecessary.

The concept of Berlin Yongdou is very local, the quality of the food matches the price, and it is fresh!

Yesterday we had breakfast and we ordered musabbaha, falafel and fatteh. We got falafel and hummus and the fatteh took a long time. The hummus and falafel were amazing, but the fatteh was inedible. It felt like bread and water and was not eaten. The staff was doing well.

I tried falafel at Azzam Restaurant. Honestly, I tried his falafel sandwiches. They were very good and well-supported. The prices are reasonable. The service is self-service. However, there is a comment about his tea being free. Honestly, the quality of the tea is zero at all. It was not good. It was old and hot. I mean, they need to pay more attention because I think that if there is such a thing as free tea, it must be something good so that people can enjoy it.

This Arab restaurant is a true hidden gem, offering both takeout and sit-down options — and even when it’s busy (which it often is), you’ll almost always find a seat since people eat and go. The food? Incredibly fresh and deeply authentic, like a warm trip back home with every bite. From Palestinian classics to Syrian flavors to Lebanese staples, every dish is made with care and tradition. The spices, the textures, the aromas — it all comes together in perfect harmony, capturing the true taste of the Middle East. A must-visit for anyone craving real, soulful Arab food.

There was nothing grilled on the "grill plate," just some salad and hummus, spiced up with fried vegetables, and three or four pieces of not-so-flavorful sucuk. The shawarma was gone after two or three forks, and all for €25. An absolute disgrace.

The food was okay. The portions were large, though I've heard that sometimes you have to wait a bit longer in line (I was lucky, as there weren't many people in the queue). I waited about 25 minutes for my meal. While I waited, I was given a bag of bread and garlic sauce.

The food is very good and the guys are respectful. The guy in the hall is dark-skinned, very respectful and nice. I loved it. Azam and that's it.

Payment via Visa or bank is not accepted. Therefore, those coming from outside Berlin must have cash with them, as the technology for payment via bank has not yet reached them.

It’s unusual for a large restaurant to operate on a cash-only basis. It raises questions about transparency and whether all transactions are being properly reported.

I am a resident of Berlin and almost every time I go to the Arab market I have to go to Azzam Restaurant for breakfast because of the delicious food that we can’t talk about, but today was the worst day I visited the restaurant. I ordered manakish and a plate of tesbiha. The order took about 45 minutes and I was with two young boys. Anyway, when the order was completed, the boys ordered juice. I took 2 juices. I went to the cashier and he told me 4 euros and I only had 2.50 euros in cash. When I asked if I could pay on the card, there was a disrespectful and rude guy at the cashier who pretended not to listen when I said I could pay on the card because I only had 2.50 euros. Here, the other guy who prepares tesbiha and fava beans has Abu Ali on his sign. His hair is a bit bald. I intervened and the guy told him he wanted to pay but he only had 2.50 euros in cash. Here, the disrespectful guy said, “What should I do?” Immediately, I returned the juice and said to Abu Ali, “Masha Allah, the guy has good manners.” May God reward him. He insisted. I refused to take juice with the cash I had on hand, as the situation was extremely unethical and impolite. Special thanks to Abu Ali. And a message to the management of Azzam Restaurant: either provide an electronic cash register or assign respectable staff to the cashier.

The food is very bad, unhealthy oils. Unfortunately, it is not recommended to visit. It was a wrong experience. I ordered a plate of fatteh and it was full of oil. I asked the employee, and he told me that this is what is available in a rude manner.

The bathrooms are literally a dump. Is it possible, Azzam Restaurant, that you don't bring someone to clean the bathroom or provide tissues or a working dryer? You haven't had enough money and half of Arab Street is full. Is it possible that you don't see how dirty the bathroom is and how lacking tissues and cleanliness is? 😏🥲 We can't go in.

The menu is unfortunately a bit outdated, but you can access it via a QR code on the table. We waited about 10 minutes for our food, even though the place was very busy. The service was fast. The waiters quickly cleaned the other tables as soon as the guests left and quickly prepared the food for the other guests. I really liked it! The prices range from 18 to 35 euros per person. I also liked that older German couples were eating here, even though we were right in the middle of Sonnenallee. Overall, a 7/10 for the place.

I had it packed and eaten. It was really delicious and the portions were generous. There were no major problems with ordering and receiving it. However, if you don't speak German or Arabic, it's best to avoid busy times.

I bought chicken döner on a plate. I could eat it with 6 or 7 forks at most. Then I started feeling dizzy and nauseous. I threw the rest of the food in the trash at the hostel.

The food is good. Drinks were warm, even though they came from the fridge. It's self-service, more like a snack bar than a restaurant. Very loud. The customers don't seem to realize this. People talk loudly, and without consideration. No accessible restroom. You can't get into the restroom with a walker or wheelchair. The meal itself costs €10. Drinks are €15 per person.

Unfortunately, I was not at all satisfied with my visit to this restaurant. We were served burnt chicken (shish tavuk) that had a distinct smoky and bitter taste. After we politely asked for a replacement plate, we were simply served the same plate again – without any discernible change or apology. I find this behavior extremely disappointing and not customer-friendly. I therefore cannot recommend the restaurant.

Come here if you want good bang for your buck and like arabic food. The place is often crowded as many people have figured out already that you can eat well and don´t have to worry it will cost you a leg and an arm. The portions are big and will be enough for folks with a hefty appetite. Sitting outside is nice but most tables are inside. The ambience inside is not so appealing and its loud, but you can just get the food as take away if its too full.

Azzam is THE place to eat in Berlin, not just a restaurant, but a state of mind.
