Very tasty and friendly service

We arrived without a reservation, were greeted very warmly, and were even given a table. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. In short: Athos is highly recommended. However, we suggest making a reservation just to be safe, as almost every table was occupied when we left. We were so happy to have gotten a table! 😀

We had dinner tonight and it was fantastic! The service was super friendly and there was no long wait. The food tasted absolutely amazing and the portions were very generous. We'd love to come back again! 👍🏾⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Athos restaurant in Thale has been around for over 20 years. I lived in Thale for many years and ate there quite often back then; the food was always delicious and plentiful. I always enjoy going back whenever I'm in the area.

Incredibly delicious food and super friendly staff. Even though it was packed almost to capacity, the staff didn't seem stressed at all. And unlike some Greek restaurants I've visited, I didn't get that unpleasant thirsty feeling late at night. Highly recommended.

The best Greek restaurant I've ever been to! I usually don't find much to like at Greek restaurants, especially the main courses. But here, I actually had several dishes that made me think twice – and there were some very tasty vegetarian options! The appetizers – grilled pepperoni and dolmadakia – were outstanding. For my main course, I ended up choosing the fish, which couldn't have been better. I also tried some of my husband's meat platter – although I don't usually like pork or beef, I have to say his food was delicious too! The food arrived quite quickly, without any long waits. The service was very organized yet incredibly friendly. Everything was also very modern. The ambiance is beautifully designed, and despite the restaurant being quite busy, it was easy to have a conversation. Since I couldn't drink ouzo, they offered me a non-alcoholic option, which I was very happy about! It was a wonderful evening, and we will definitely be back!

I wouldn't go there again. It was definitely too loud and crowded for me. I didn't like the chairs. Garden chairs in the restaurant. I didn't like them at all. I also found it quite expensive. But, very nice staff 😃

We got a last-minute reservation on Saturday! The place was completely packed, but the service was always attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, and they even had specially designated veggie/vegan dishes.

We spontaneously dropped in on a Friday evening. It was packed—which speaks volumes for a restaurant—and luckily we got a table even without a reservation 😙 The service was quick and attentive, and the food was great: plenty of it and very tasty! The ambiance is modern and inviting. If we ever find ourselves in Thale again, we'd be happy to come back 😁

Very good food. We were able to get in even though we hadn't pre-ordered. The food and drinks arrived very quickly, so we were finished in 1.5 hours and the next guests (with reservations) could be seated. Thanks again.

Three of us were here on Sunday and had reserved a table in advance. Service was quick and courteous. The food was good, but could have been seasoned better; it was a bit bland. Otherwise, everything was excellent. We will be back.

We're on vacation here and felt very comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious. Drinks were brought and served very quickly. We were able to sit outside, and we had our dog with us. Athos is highly recommended; the owners are also very friendly. We will eat there again.

We just wanted a drink. The menu arrived after about 15 minutes. The waiter then brought a large beer instead of a small one. We also ordered two ouzos, which didn't arrive until the end of our stay. When we paid, we were asked if we wanted an ouzo. It arrived, but the waiter was drinking it at the next table with two women. For us, this was a total lack of Greek hospitality. Long wait, unfriendly waiters, and no service. We won't be back.

The Greek restaurant that was recommended, and rightly so. Delicious food. It was crowded, but the wait was perfectly acceptable. You can sit outside on a moderately busy street. Ouzo before, ouzo after (which isn't mandatory).

I was on vacation in Thale and visited the restaurant twice, and I highly recommend it. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and accommodating, and there was plenty of ouzo. 😁 If I ever find myself in Thale again, I'll definitely stop by again. 👍

We were there in May. Even though it was full, they still managed to get us a table. It was really nice. The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the prices were perfectly reasonable for the quality. Excellent value for money. The atmosphere was cozy, even though it was packed. We will definitely come back the next time we're in the Harz.

We got a table at short notice, and the service was incredibly child-friendly. Apart from the slightly longer wait for the bill, it was an absolutely wonderful visit. We highly recommend it!

It's 9:02 PM and the shop is closed. According to the website and Google Maps, they're open until 11:30 PM. Seems to be common practice among restaurants in Thale. Reaction to the reply: Nobody is trying to put them out of work. I can't understand this insinuation from my review either, and I find this statement very unprofessional! It's frustrating when you travel all the way to find the doors closed. If you're managing to respond to a review here, you can also adjust your opening hours on Google and on your website due to the vacation. We didn't see the sign in question on site.

Everything was great here; we came for dinner two days in a row with five people. Really delicious dishes, generous portions, and friendly service. Plenty of ouzo to go with it. So it's tolerable that the house red wine was truly terrible 😂

Absolutely yes!!! It was very tasty. We've tried quite a few Greek restaurants in and around Wendland. This one was absolutely excellent.

Unfortunately it's often too loud because it's always full.

We're currently on vacation with our family and came for dinner with seven people. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we received a friendly welcome and got a table without any problems. We had various starters and main courses, everything was delicious. The service was also excellent and very attentive. Since it's very warm at the moment, I found it particularly pleasant that the entire glass front to the dining room could be opened, as there are only a few seats outside. So, all in all, a clear recommendation. We'll definitely be back in the next few days.

Staff tend to talk to others at the fence. Boss throws dishes at employees to get them to work. Staff ignores questions. Food is only reheated.

Great food, everything tasted good, but I think the tzatziki was too expensive at €7.90. The other food was reasonably priced. We'll be back, but we won't be eating tzatziki again.

There were three families ahead of us at the reception desk...all without reservations. Even though the place was fully booked, the staff asked everyone with a time limit whether we could stay long enough until the next table was taken. Excellent service...food - the best gyro I've ever had. I'd go back anytime.

We were at the thermal baths in Thale and were still a bit hungry after all that sweating. So we came here. It was delicious; I had the best grilled pepperoni in the world. 😝 Seating is available inside, outside, or in the winter garden. Parking is available right in front of the restaurant, so we decided not to sit on the street.

The service is simply excellent! Everyone is friendly, and the restaurant is always full! You should definitely make a reservation, or order and pick up. It tastes really good. I would like to see some new dishes or different combinations, but that's really just complaining at a high level.

Super tasty and good value for money

The starter was disappointing, the garlic bread was okay. The garlic soup tasted more like broccoli than garlic. The waiter was surprised that we wanted to share a bottle of wine, and at the beginning, many waiters came to order, but then hardly any more. The food came quickly, was freshly prepared, and delicious. However, we could have done without the aforementioned starters. The main course was very tasty, the Cretan potatoes were great! However, we find the side dish combination of fries and rice odd... The atmosphere is really great; if we're in Thale again, we'll definitely come back.

Great food. I've been to many Greek restaurants across Germany. Some good, some not so good. Athos is number one for me. If the holiday gods bring me back to the Harz Mountains, I know where I'll eat. Keep it up!

Positive: The food was good, it could have been more gyros and more rice. Negative: Lack of communication with guests. The waiting time for the food was too long at 1.5 hours. Even the salad only came after about 30 minutes. The drinks came shortly after ordering. Even when there is more going on, communication with guests is important. Information that it would take longer to eat today would have been appropriate. Instead we were made to wait and after asking if we had been forgotten, the food came straight away (coincidence). Guests a few tables away also asked the waiter whether they had forgotten that they had been waiting for over an hour. Why don't you communicate with the guests? Then you also understand it.

We ate lamb shank and various starters, everything was very good, the service was unique.

We were traveling in a group and found this restaurant. They were pretty much the only ones in the area that were open at lunchtime. We were able to sit outside, were served very friendly and drinks and the meal were served very quickly. Our food was super tasty and plentiful. Can recommend the restaurant 💯 percent.
